Downloaded BrickScan 2 days ago. Continually get the message “no network connection “. Must be on their end because things here are working perfectly. No way to contact the developer for help - even on their website.
Doesn’t work

Every figure we tried to search just automatically goes to “there is something wrong with your connection” :/ I think something is wrong with BrickScan
Everything has to be premium

BrickScan used to be amazing, used it everyday and helped me a lot on not only building minifigures and seeing the price but also to help me with bricks that I didn’t know what the set was from, I would had recommended BrickScan to any Lego enjoyer like myself but unfortunately now there’s an unlimited amount of photos to take. 5 a day photos for 50 dollars a year for stuff that used to be free, I cannot say the amount of hate I have for BrickScan now, every scan app has to have some sort of premium feature that takes features that anyone could use back then but then an update comes and you are no longer able to use that feature unless you give them ✨MONEY✨
As soon as this update has happened I’ve seen a recent change in reviews. Brick monkey if you don’t see these reviews you truly are blinded by greed like the rest of todays mobile apps,
For anyone who doesn’t want to pay this absurd amount of money, you can try google lens for free..
Terrible app. Sort reviews by recent to see why.

Barely functional. It loses WiFi connection constantly while using. And even if it connects, it only identifies parts correctly like 50% of the time at best. Definitely NOT worth a laughable $55 a year. Not even worth it for free, since Google Lens and other brickscanning apps are more accurate, MUCH more reliable, and FREE. If I ever paid for BrickScan I’d demand a refund.
(Not to mention the fact that the dev pulled a massive “bait and switch” by offering BrickScan for free to let users train his “AI”, then once everyone did enough work for him to make his app functional, he slapped a paywall on it. As far as I’m concerned, it should be illegal to remove core functionality from an app YOU ALREADY OWN. Poor decision, developer. Such little respect for your user base)
I have tried this on a TON of my personal mini-figures, and it just won’t identify anything. Always comes up with an error, blank screen, or app crash. Great concept, awful execution.
Does not work whatsoever

Tried scanning some characters from the latest Marvel CMF boxes and it couldn’t find a match for any of them. I was just testing to see how this worked and it literally couldn’t get one right.
Was perfect

App was amazing until they added a pay feature. Only 5 pictures a day to use. Just use google lense because it is not worth to have to pay to use your camera.
Not worth the price

Update requiring paid subscription is a reach, not worth the price when there are equivalent free options. Really enjoyed BrickScan until they decided to only offer 5 free scans per day.
Solid app, mid monetizing choice

by Gobln_
Overall, BrickScan works great, recognizes bricks wells, is very quick, and is very helpful for reassembling minifigs (helped me remake over 150 out of a mess of parts). As of the recent monetization though, my opinion of it has been lowered. The main reason was behind the processing load and money to run it off a server, with the multi scan option taking up the majority of the processing power. Instead of taking down all options and limiting it to 5 images per day for free, it could’ve been limited to the solo scan for free users, and you could pay to access the multi scan. This would still make it accessible for people who would prefer it for free, lower neural networks loads, and still have a monetized option for the people who use it with more parts. I understand the reasoning behind the choice, but its not the best option.
I understand the need to make money. However it would have been nice if existing users would have been allowed more than 3 images per day. The existing users are the ones that used and provided feedback on BrickScan in its beta form and are part of the success that it is today. It seems like 10x images per day for original users would be a better number and 3x for anyone new. This would allow BrickScan to remain useful for individuals, however people using it as a tool to make money would still need to sign up for pro. Another idea would be to have free scans only return a limited amount of information that a casual user would want but not what a pro would need. For example, just removing the linking to bricklink might be enough to get most paid users to sign up.
Found on reddit and really good

Found this with a post on reddit and it is really good! It is missing a few figures/torsos but other than that, really good!

I don’t normally write app reviews but this one deserves it. SUPER helpful in sorting loose heads, torsos, etc. The software isn’t perfect but it does a great job identifying minifigures and even logging your own collection. Solid.
Premium does not work

I tried to get premium by tapping the crown BrickScan kinda works I like it but only 5 a day make it like 30 or 50 a day at least please

BrickScan has saved my eyes from straining to find specific figures. BrickScan keeps improving too!
BrickScan has allowed me to keep track of my mini figures and see what my collection is worth and it works amazingly. The way you can find figures from taking a picture of the torso I think is quite smart and the feature is very accurate.
A few suggestion I feel that could make BrickScan PERFECT:
Mini figure wishlist Sorting (A-Z, Theme, etc.) Show what sets the figures come in Being able to add sets to your collection Being able to remove torsos/mini figures from your collection.
I love BrickScan and am excited to see what updates will come to it!
This has made my life so much easier

I buy TONS of used Lego off of auction sites and local classified listings. Many times it’s just a bunch of loose Lego and disassembled minifigures and it can be really difficult to figure out which body parts go with which minifigure. Along came BrickScan and I am nearly done piecing together my close to 700 minifigures and potential sets they came in. I am so pleased that someone FINALLY developed an app like this.
I would love to see the ability to adjust the value of the minifigures. According to BrickScan I have over $4k worth of minifigures but that seems to be on the very high side. When I click on the Bricklink link the actual value is generally half of the stated value. I’m guessing BrickScan just uses the median value of all prices listed so one person is asking $2.00 for a minifigure in decent shape but you go to the last page and a seller is asking $75 for a generic minifigure so BrickScan tells me my minifigure is worth $35.
Either way this is an amazing app especially for collectors. Keep the updates coming and keep up the good work!
Great app

Only recommendation would be the ability to sort your collection alphabetically or by theme or value to make BrickScan complete.

So I will be completely honest I stole many figures from a kid and I don’t know half of them but I am using one of the bodies for a causal wear for my cole and I had no clue what the body was but now I can find out it’s the soldier of the dead 2 from a lotr/hobbit set
Great App!

I like BrickScan a lot and it is very useful. I do suggest to add some sort of socializing spaces like forums and postings to interact with other users and maybe options to show collections to others!
BrickScan is so amazing. No longer do I have to scroll through thousands of torso options to find the one I have in front of me. The amount of time I save identifying figures from used collections that are mixed up… is insane. The only thing I don’t rely on are the values it associates with figures, going to Bricklink (which BrickScan provides a direct link to once the torso is identified) it’s always a different value. I can live with that though, since the goal is to head to Bricklink anyway. So so so happy for BrickScan!
Works super well!

Update: It’d great to be able to view all Minifigures you can build on the buildable Minifigures metric, not just the ones for torsos and other parts you’ve added.
Such a useful app, especially now with the ability to detect any pieces. However, there are 2 issues with being able to add bricks:
1. You can’t add all the pieces from a set at once. No, you have to manually add each individual bricks.
2. It doesn’t merge added bricks. This is what I mean: If I add 2 black 1x1 bricks from one set, and 1 from another set, they won’t stack and show up as 3 1x1 black bricks.
Fix these 2 things, and BrickScan is a 6/5.

BrickScan is not perfect, but it sure makes your search a breeze, saved me a lot of research time. If you need to put together your mini figures, this is the tool to have. Thank you guys for creating BrickScan
Thank you for BrickScan. It is easy to use (thank you x10!!!!). It correctly identified 50 minifigures and offers alternate pics and id's for similar mini's. It saves so much time and is frustration free so far. Love the accuracy and appreciate the ease of use. You don't have to be an expert to use this. Great app. Thank you so much.

I have spent so many hours searching through minifigures to identify them and BrickScan has already saved me hundreds of hours. I have had a bunch of figures that needed identifying for so long but i kept putting it off. I was able to get all of them figured out using BrickScan! The only issue I’ve had is when the light was too low but once i added some more light it found it without issue. Some things I’d love to see in the future are an option to scan heads and printed legs, and it would also be amazing if we could get a feature for identifying sticker and printed parts. Thanks so much for all your hard work, i can’t wait to see what you do with BrickScan !
Makes sorting minifigs so much easier

I’m livening BrickScan makes sorting through my Minifigs so much easier. I only have two complaints and I’m sure they will be added o e day but it does have difficulty with some of the skeleton with print on them and I really wish I could sort my collection my set or by value, the sort by value is the Feature I hope gets added the most.
Organizing figures

by Brando12033
Just got BrickScan and have to say I’m quite impressed. This is a great way to easily find a mini figure, organize it, and find out generally what it’s worth. That would be my only needs improvement for BrickScan. Some of the prices are a little off but I’m sure can be fixed by adding other websites data on figure value to make it more accurate. Other than that BrickScan is fantastic. Can’t wait to see what else gets added in the future. Would also be cool to see increase in value over time of each figure, with graphs and stuff like that. Obviously a lot of work but BrickScan has so many cool places it can go. Well done so far.👍🤙

Invaluable tool for identifying minifigures. My only suggestion would be to add more minifigs to the database

This is my first review ever!, if that doesn’t say anything then I don’t know what els would. I truly don’t know what I would do without BrickScan, as someone who has sorted 1000+ figures/parts and complete 500+ figures I am very satisfied with this incredible app!, a lot of the negative reviews are regarding the premium cost, which in my opinion having the premium option has been incredible, it’s worth every penny to me. The other side of negative reviews is BrickScan not being able to distinguish the pieces, which that tends to be a user error, make sure the photo is clear I can’t stress that enough, I love BrickScan!, I also like a lot how it will not only tell me the value of the figure but it will also give me a URL link that directs me to the market where I further expand my knowledge. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you to the developers of BrickScan, I truly give you all props for the creativity and the functionality of this incredible app, 5 stars all day from me!

Yes you can use Google lens to do the same thing but it’s not the same thing. After getting exhausted with how much time it took to use lens, I searched for something else and this is exactly what I was looking for
Really outstanding app. Just wish we could have the 2022 figures list updated.
