LOVE YuSpeak SO MUCH! Easy to learn hiragana and overall better than any of the paid apps like rosetta stone or babbel. Where are the downloads for this?

During practice it will give me a word in hiragana but at the bottom for the romaji it won’t have the options for me to make the word correctly. Other than that it’s really fun and helping me learn!

It’s amazing and in my opinion better than Duo Lingo.

this app is actually a great app to learn Korean. I found it really entertaining and helpful for improving my sentence making and speaking skills, but beware that starting with the 11th lesson (“How is my skirt” for the Korean version) lessons are only available upon subscription. It’s too bad, because the level of content taught is actually quite basic and it’s not worth subscribing for someone who’s already at or near an intermediate level. Also, only monthly and yearly subscriptions exist, which means there’s no cheaper one time purchase option that gives you unlimited access forever like some other apps. I would say, unless you’re willing to pay for the subscription or learn everything within a month, stick to textbooks and free websites and save your money in the long run (with content you have unlimited access to). I might have even considered paying for YuSpeak if I were given lifetime access for like 30 bucks, but I think a monthly subscription adds up and is too pricey given the content of YuSpeak (it’s basically Duolingo, but with actually useful and not nonsensical sentences).

This is a quintessential language learning app from the same highly esteemed team responsible for the HelloChinese app. I was blown away with all of the detail, interactive activities, native speaker videos, and variety of different gamified and repetitive exposure methods used to train your brain to gradually acknowledge and slowly acquire the language of your intellectual desire (Japanese and/or Korean in this case, as previously mentioned). I’m proud of the this app team and look forward to the further developments in their foreign language acquisition apps. This review is my biased opinion as a major fan of their software, but give it a try and you’ll be hooked as you rapidly make progress due to your continued studies.

I’m really enjoying YuSpeak! I love the entertaining writing in the intro to each section and the comic at the end. It’s such a great format and fun to consume. Unfortunately I came in with some previous Japanese knowledge so I’m getting through the content too quickly. I hope you release intermediate Japanese content too so that I can keep using YuSpeak! The one other feature I would request is some kind of “hard mode” where I could input the answers using the iOS keyboard. Anyway please keep it up, this is one of my favorite learning apps!

Japanese is my first language and my friend asked me if I could look for a way for him to learn my language accurately. I stumbled upon YuSpeak that taught very quickly and yes, gave accurate information. My friend spoke three different sentences in a single hour and knew some of the hiragana alphabet characters.
It’s been a month and Dave (said friend) has impressed me with how much he could speak and READ!!!
I tried out YuSpeak and the information was again, accurate and easy to understand. I highly recommend.

This is the first time I’ve ever bought a subscription for a language learning app that’s how good it is, if I could add anything I’d like to be able to type my answers sometimes both hiragana and kanji so it helps me remember it better. It would also be nice to add to the alphabet part kanji and when you press on it it’ll show you the stroke order. I’ve also started using it for Korean as well since it helped me so fast with my Japanese, I can’t wait for future updates and more Japanese and Korean lessons

I’ve tried countless language apps and this is the very very best one I’ve found. It would be so amazing if you could add an option for English speakers to learn Russian!! Loveee YuSpeak it helps me retain more than a textbook does and isn’t just memorizing like duolingo because you’re actually applying what you learn immediately. Literally the only way I can learn a language is by being able to use it and practice conversations and YuSpeak is so perfect for that. Thank u for making this free!!

Iv been wanting to learn for so long, and YuSpeak makes it soo easy! Unlike other apps it actually teaches you how to have a conversation it’s Awsome I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to learn I mean before this I knew nothing I know I can say all sorts of stuff, though I still now trouble with reading but that’s just a me thing lol

The content in YuSpeak is great, and I like that you can switch between Japanese and Korean, but the fact that YuSpeak doesn’t work natively on iPad is a dealbreaker for me (if you open on iPad it shows up phone-sized on the screen and even if you expand it it’s skinny and doesn’t fill the screen.) this is an accessibility issue - those of us with vision deficiencies need to study languages on a bigger screen. If YuSpeak worked natively on iPad and offered a lifetime subscription (it doesn’t) I would purchase pro without hesitation.

Ended up downloading this after seeing cyber bunny talk about it. Think this is well organized then Duolingo, I find myself understand why most of the words are used and when to use them. It lets you know what words are nouns and verbs, also it makes you right the alphabet too. If it was possible to talk back to YuSpeak that would be fun or having conversation with others in the same skill level as you. Any age can learn from this easily

YuSpeak is similar to a textbook style, but is more concise and humorous/modern. It also has real voice actors which help with pronunciation and an option to turn off romanization. However, it seems there’s no setting to type with the device keyboard— that’s my only criticism. Otherwise, it’s a good app to get you started in Japanese.

Hello i don’t really write reviews for apps but i had to write one for YuSpeak because its really amazing and very good and the new comics is really nice and fun to read the art is BEAUTIFUL i like YuSpeak a lot it makes learning so fun good job making YuSpeak also one feature that i suggest is to add friends and friends quests

I’ve been teaching myself Japanese for years and I’ve used a LOT of apps in the process. YuSpeak is next level. The order it teaches you in, the frequency of reviews, and the diversity of teaching tools are all stellar. I couldn’t recommend it more.

My sister recommended me YuSpeak since she’s learning Japanese and I’m learning Korean with this is app and I love it!! I’m so happy that you can choose to turn off the romanization if you would like!! It’s helped me learn how to say so much more in Korean! And it’s helped me with my pronunciation and how to structure sentences! I love it!

this is the best app ive ever found after downloading numerous other language learning apps. ive learned so much from the past week of having YuSpeak. I can tell the amount of work put into this and YuSpeak needs more recognition

Compared to other apps on learning Japanese, this one is the best. Instead of learning basic words at first. It gives you basic sentences to learn which is very helpful for at least me. All the comics can give motion. I’ve been learning Japanese very fast on YuSpeak😁

I’m very new to learning languages so I didn’t know where to start, I started using YuSpeak and began learning right away, I highly recommend YuSpeak!

I’m not a boy or anything but I’m learning Japanese and it seems amazing. Another big thing is that all the stuff (pretty sure) is freeeeeeee. Which I love since I don’t have much money. Really fun and amazing way to learn Japanese

YuSpeak is super helpful! It helps me remember vocabulary and it taught me the rest of the Hangul I needed to learn YuSpeak is one of my favorites and the most underrated! I hope more people discover YuSpeak.

I love that there is an actual recording of a person speaking the words so you get to hear how it really sounds when trying to vocalize. Love YuSpeak!!

As someone who adores the format of Hello Chinese, I have always wished for it in a Korean or Japanese version. Finally my wishes have come true. The style of learning is SO good and I can’t even express how much I love it. I’m very very pleased with YuSpeak!

I literally never take time to leave a review for an app but I am truly impressed by this one. I have a gazillion other apps for Korean, and this is the best! Unlike Duolingo (which grossly underdeveloped for Korean and does not offer any explanations whatsoever), YuSpeak has it all - grammar notes, pronunciation, vocabulary, good interface, etc.
And they’re not asking me for money - unlike all the others that do that right off the bat.

YuSpeak actually helps me learn some of the words in the languages, and then they let us practice by letting us read a book or make us talk to fictional characters in the language? this is a pretty fun app to learn Japanese with in my opinion

I love Duolingo and have used it every day for over 5 years. I have fully completed the Chinese course in both Duolingo and HelloChinese (this app’s app for Chinese). I am also currently doing the Korean course in both Duolingo and this app. Duolingo is great for learning and reinforcing vocab, but it is severely lacking when it comes to grammar and other language patterns. HelloChinese and this app do a much better job of building a solid foundation without having to rely on outside sources. You can get a decent understanding of the basics of a language using just HelloChinese or this app, but not with Duolingo. The only reason I don’t give YuSpeak 5 stars is because Duolingo is much cheaper with the family plan. If you know 4 other people who want to learn a language, then you can get Duolingo for $2/month per person whereas this app costs $5/month. That said, if you are comparing the two apps independent of price, this app is the clear winner. p.s. to the devs of this app, please consider a Cantonese course!

The overall best app for learning Japanese!! I used to be terrible at it, I could barely say a word using other apps, but one day with this and I can introduce myself, say where I am from, and ask and answer questions!! Amazing!! I highly recommend YuSpeak! It’s perfect for beginners and intermediate learners!! Please, Please, Please download!! They need all the support they can get!!😁😁😁😁🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵

I was a little skeptical at first, but YuSpeak is turning out wonderfully. I wanted to learn Japanese because I watch a lot of anime, and it tells me the characters, how to write it, the meanings, and how to pronounce it all in one. I also love the conversations with the anime characters!

Since Duolingo laid off a bunch of workers in favor of AI, I’ve been looking for Alternatives for learning Japanese and this has been working out very well so far~ Very similar set up to Duo with the lessons and, unlike Duo, explanations for what you’re learning as it’s taught. Very cute mascot characters (and some times recognizable but probably copyrighted characters;;) that just cheer you on and aren’t the Main Focus like Duo.

I really love YuSpeak - it has taught me more and helped me have a deeper understanding than any of the methods I have been using for over a year now

However apparently for the last two weeks I wasn't formally signed into an account, so I made one - but upon doing so lost two weeks of daily learning and had to start all over again

This was very hurtful and I don't know what to do about it

I really like how, unlike quite a few other apps I’ve tried, it gives you formatting diagrams & explanations of how and why the characters are formed.

It’s more formal than other apps I’ve tried and since I'm learning for business, I’m very happy that I’ll seem a little less rude during my learning process.

I’m also using Rosetta Stone and this has been a fantastic accompaniment. It has what Rosetta Stone is missing when it comes to writing.

this app is so good I wish more people used it to learn Japanese/Korean. It’s so beginner friendly and I love the little story simulation things at the end of each lesson. It literally has everything you need, I also love how YuSpeak looks in general (in terms of design) and I don’t feel bored learning at all. I wish I found YuSpeak sooner.
