Learn Korean Hangul Reviews

I really love LearnKoreanHangul and it’s very help full but lately when I try to wright 기, 가, 거, pretty much anything with ㄱ it won’t let me write it. It only happens on the ones where you write it yourself. I am 100% sure I’m not making any errors when writing it, could you please fix this problem right away. Otherwise LearnKoreanHangul is really good and I would recommend it!

I’m really enjoying LearnKoreanHangul so far. It’s really helping me learn the letters. But I think that the English letter sounds don’t always (in fact, to me they very rarely) sound similar to their Korean equivalent. I think it would be great if a feature was added so that I can enter in English text what the Korean letter sounds like. For example, ㄱ is represented as “ga” in app when to me it sounds like “ka.” When LearnKoreanHangul asks for me to pick the English equivalent, it gets confusing because in my head I see it as “ka” but the answer is “ga.” This feature could be great and make learning a little more user friendly.

LearnKoreanHangul is indeed amazing and deserves 5 full stars; however, I wish there weren’t any purchases needed to unlock the other levels. LearnKoreanHangul is really simple and does help to learn Korean, but I personally think that for such a simple app there shouldn’t be any purchases needed. You should instead just add a gaming section that you need to purchase, and that gaming section should give you coins to open a video in Korean for learning or unlocking all the levels in a single unit for a Serrano among of coins. I hope you could see my reasoning and do make some changes!!!

LearnKoreanHangul helped me learn Hangul easily, but the writing was so specific that it often counted me wrong because I didn’t write things with ㄱ or ㅋ the way it wanted it to. I also really didn’t like how you had to write each consonant or vowel in a specific order. For example, for the consonant ㅁ, it made me write the left side of the rectangle, the upper side and the right side in another motion, and then the final motion would be the bottom side. Even for ㅇ, it counts you wrong if you don’t write it as anything other than counterclockwise. Overall, okay app, but the writing needs a ton of improvement

This is a really great app for learning the sounds and Hangul letters. Great for very beginner learning Hangul and the sounds. My only wish would be for an option to turn off the romanization and learn the Hangul letters only by the sounds. I feel it slows down my progress when I constantly have to associate English letters with the Hangul letters because there really isn’t a good translation for a lot of the sounds. But for a free app, I’m happy with what it offers.

I finished the first lesson of consonants, (이,기, 니) and I cannot progress because you have to pay for basically the whole thing. It’s a great way to learn the letters, however you can really learn much without paying.

Ok so i paid the $1.99and it is definitely worth it. It’s great to learn the basic alphabet which inevitably will be very important. You aren’t going to be reading paragraphs when you start but it’s a really great way to learn the alphabet.

Omgosh! I love LearnKoreanHangul! But now I want more combinations available for the sounds— especially the sounds difficult for Americans. I feel like repetition is so key. I would also like each letter separately with the name of the letter and perhaps a pronunciation tip, like sounds like g in front, k in middle and hm isn’t placed at end or like that at the end of a syllable. Advanced app like this would be SO VALUABLE!! practicing the kinesiology of tracing the letters is so great. The voices are nice. Being able to repeat them is awesome sauce. Please make an advance app like this!!
Maybe could also start with writing and pronouncing names and places.

LearnKoreanHangul shows you stroke order and has you follow along with actually writing out the letters, which has dramatically increased my understanding of which symbols mean what. I tried before and couldn’t do it. Now I’m trying to pace myself so I can retain all the information.

Haven’t looked yet but I hope this developer has apps like this for other languages as well

This has greatly aided my Korean learning process. I can now recognize characters and even read a bit! I find that practicing once a day is most effective, and it only take about 5-10 minutes. I pair it with Rosetta Stone, and I’ve found that they work really well together. Highly recommend LearnKoreanHangul! It’s very simple but effective.

It doesn’t only let you familiarize yourself with the characters, but it also teaches you the correct strokes to write the character. That’s important when learning a culture and the correct way to writing a language. At first I had thought LearnKoreanHangul was faulty because I was drawing the character in 2 strokes, when the correct number of strokes was meant to be 3, and so it didn’t let me move on until I wrote it correctly.

That is the discipline I was looking for in a learning app and I am happy to learn the correct way versus just writing the characters however I initially thought was easiest.

it was really helpful in learning the order of the strokes and sped up my memorization a lot :) also for the people saying its annoying that it tells you exactly the order of writing the characters, that how its supposed to be, theres a specific order to how you write them lol, its not annoying thats just how it is.

I am currently taking a class to learn Korean. Before you can learn Korean, one has to have a good command of Hangeul. LearnKoreanHangul has been the perfect companion to my studies. The real standout feature of LearnKoreanHangul is how it teaches the user how to write the characters in the proper order.

I’ve tried several apps, including some well known ones, but this was by far the best at helping me get a good grasp on Hangeul.

Usually I don’t write reviews, but this deserves one. I was having a difficult time learning hangul and how to pronounce them, but LearnKoreanHangul made it so so much easier. However, I do think a nice addition would be optional speaking exercises. But nonetheless, I really recommend LearnKoreanHangul if you want to learn basic korean vowels and stuff!

It starts with learning the alphabet combined. I recommend looking up the 24 characters individually first then coming to LearnKoreanHangul. It’s really good and to me it’s like a memory game. I also practice off LearnKoreanHangul too and go online too figure out tips on how to properly pronounce the words even though LearnKoreanHangul does a real good job in trying to make it easy to understand

LearnKoreanHangul is BEYOND amazing. I not only learned the Hangul alphabet and its sounds, but I also learned to write Hangul.

It was so easy that it took very little time and I progressed so quickly I stayed interested enough to want to finish learning it completely.

I downloaded a LOT of apps and this was the only one I found focused mainly on writing. LearnKoreanHangul had me trace syllables so I was able to get used to the writing system.

I can’t say enough about LearnKoreanHangul. It helped so much and so thoroughly that I have now studied The Korean language every day for at least 15 minutes for close to a year now. I honestly don’t think I would have stuck to learning without this as my base to build on.

LearnKoreanHangul works like amazing flashcards to help you read and write Hangul. Each letter/syllable is presented in a logical sequence and you practice in a variety of ways. You are constantly encouraged to go back and review. The “review everything” button is an amazing feature! I also appreciate being taught/required to do the strokes correctly for each letter. At $1.99, you can’t not buy LearnKoreanHangul to practice reading and writing Hangul.

I am not a fast learner, so LearnKoreanHangul is perfect for letting me move at my own pace with just enough repetition. I love getting to practice as much as I want. The size of the letters is a very nice feature. One improvement that could be made would be to have a repeat button so that I could hear the sound a second time. It would also be good if the romanization of the sound could be toggled on and off, so that the user could just depend on the sound.

Love LearnKoreanHangul. Totally worth the purchase. Not only does it pronounce each bit with you, but it also teaches stroke order and reminds you to review as well. It has really helped with my studying. When I first started studying Korean from a book I had, I was intimidated because I wasn’t very confident on what I was looking at. LearnKoreanHangul has really given me the confidence to look at Hangul and be able to break it down. I’m very happy with LearnKoreanHangul and definitely recommend it for those serious about learning Korean.

LearnKoreanHangul is really simple and easy to use. I like the repetitiveness of it and being able to write the characters along with hearing the pronunciation because it helps me to remember much better. I’m using LearnKoreanHangul along with a few others as well as taking a course online. I know it will take a while before I can easily read Korean but this is a step in the right direction. Plus it’s not expensive for the full version which is nice compared to other apps. If I run into any issues I’ll update this review.

So I’ve tried a lot of things to help me learn Hangul but none of them have worked for me until I tried this this really helps since it makes you repetitively write it over and over again I don’t like that you have to write a specific way since you’re still writing the same thing just a different way but overall I really like it it’s very easy to so while I’m in between classes I’ll just do a little bit of this and it’s very very convenient and I can even do it without Internet so whenever I’m traveling I just do this

I like LearnKoreanHangul and the way it is structured, however I also have the learn Japanese app and it is so much more interactive and has many more lessons. For Japanese, I love that there is a chart you can go back to to see which lessons and characters you are good/okay/bad at, and I wish LearnKoreanHangul had it too.

There is also verbs, questions and adjectives. I wish there were more lessons in LearnKoreanHangul .

I really like LearnKoreanHangul so far, but it continues to crash when I’m writing the letters. It’s frustrating having to restart my progress. If that gets fixed then LearnKoreanHangul will be loads better. I also think there should be lessons that compare the letter blocks that make similar sounds. That will be super helpful.

I really like how LearnKoreanHangul functions! Its easy to use, is aesthetically pleasing, and efficient!

The bad thing is that if i do a few lessons in a row, it crashes.... please fix this asap!

Also it’s be nice if we could “redraw” a character. Sometimes i write a really ugly character and want to correct it, but the stroke order etc are correct so it moves on.

Love this!! My only complaint is I want it to sync across my iPhone and iPad, but it isn’t working quite right. It would make things much easier, since I don’t want to bring my iPad to work with me.

Hopefully this is just a weird me issue and it resolves itself. Otherwise, I can not recommend LearnKoreanHangul enough!

LearnKoreanHangul is amazing. For someone who wants to learn Korean as much as I do this is the way to start. It is kinda hard for me considering I’m just a kid and trying to learn Korean, but it is a good app. One thing though, I don’t like how you have to pay for the other lessons. In my opinion they should make more that’s o e lesson free. That’s my opinion

They didn’t allowed to learn everything which is fine I don’t expect to get a app for free without restrictions but this had a whole lot of restrictions. I really liked it but have no money. They only allow one lesson per chapter and I was a little sad that I couldn’t learn the majority of the alphabet.

I purchased this last night on my iPad and it’s great. I’m already through 2 lessons and I actually retained the info. However when I click restore purchases on my iPhone it’s saying “product not found”... I don’t know if this is an iTunes issue or an issue with LearnKoreanHangul .

I have a hard time staying focused when studying but with being able to write on LearnKoreanHangul I stay focused and challenge myself to know all the characters and can SLOWLY read the lines when watching music performances but overall worth the purchase

If you are trying to learn Korean take everyone’s advice and forget Romanization! No English speaker says “a” or “e” or any other vowel or diphthong the same way so Romanization will really screw up your pronunciation and you may not be understood. LearnKoreanHangul is repetitive in a perfect way for you to learn to read and write Korean.

Need to learn alphabet before i try to speak. And this is perfect for my learning style. Capable of giving a better pronunciation then some other apps. And letting you learn while being able to review those steps whenever you need too.

Love his app! It’s easy to use and I had been searching for something to teach me to write the characters and not just read them. It’s nice that LearnKoreanHangul lets you choose if you want to do both. Thank you!
