Asked for review too soon

I haven’t been able to use PicMa long enough to know what I think yet. Seems to function properly thus far. You watch ads to use the different editing options and then I believe also to save the finished photo. 30 seconds for the ad. I don’t mind that but I do think getting a free tester use would be nice to get an idea of how each option performs. I have to watch so many ads whilst just getting a feel for it.

My bad picture

When I downloaded PicMa I thought it was fake but after I took a bad picture with a player form one of my favorite teams I decided to try it on the photo and the result was amazing 5 stars 👍🏽

By

awesome app

I was having such a difficult time with other enhancing apps but this saved my life LITERALLY!!!! Like the wait time is just so good and I haven’t met any troubles with PicMa so yeah I’m just having a good time with PicMa. I love it

By

The best I’ve found

I’ve seen apps that gave a little color to photos but this one does what you expect it to do.

By

This is mediocre at best

I have a collection of late 1800 and early 1900's family photos. Many have faded over the years . I applied the prolevel enhancements and the results were awful. Dark lines in inappropriate places. As for the cartoon and other kitschy effects the were sloppy and unappealing. The colorization is passable. Overall it is pretty lame and certainly not as advertized.

By

Holy crap it’s amazing

No words. Saw it on a august the duck vid, and I currently love PicMa for enhancing apps, even with with ads it’s 100% worth it, if you’re seeing this review, download it, it’s amazing

By

More comic styles

Please also include more art, more comic styles. Please..more art..fix the face animation too. The lips don’t look right when the face smiles.

By

App doesn’t work well

I ordered PicMa now I seriously regret it. I have tons of photos set aside for my mom’s funeral. I got PicMa to fix old photos. Using PicMa, I didn’t get any improvement whatsoever on any of these photos. I wish I could get a refund. I only tried PicMa for ten minutes. 0/10 I do not recommend.

By

Nice

Only got the opportunity to try it once on a pic with two people. One person’s restoration was great the other was distorted. I think it would do great with just slight blurriness.

By

Amazing !

Using PicMa clean up, enhance and even colorize some old B&W family photos. Bringing new life to the past.

By

Photo enhancer

Great application to have old black/white pictures converted to color

By

The free app basically unusable

With the free app one has to wade through minutes of annoying ads. The functionality is otherwise decent if not a bit on the harsh side. Recovered photos look like a bad plastic surgery was performed. Not worth it imo

By

Picma

I really wanted PicMa, however, PicMa itself was not usable after subscribing to the service, twice. I have an iPhone 14 with the latest iOS version, and despite this, PicMa was non-responsive. Clicking on the various features resulted in a hung up app. It was very frustrating.

By

Small Business Owner - Photography and Videography

PicMa is more of a gimmick than a professional restoration tool. The results fall way short of a restoration performed by an experienced professional. In addition, the application is clunky and makes it difficult to upload files.

By

So cute ! Totally worth 30 second ads or subscription!

Love it !

By

Nice pic improvement

I scanned a random copy of a Polaroid photo from the ‘70s. I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

By

Overdone

PicMa would be pure PERFECTION if they would back off a hair on the enhancements. They are overdone and they don't have a way for you to adjust them down a bit.

By

Easy to use

Easy to use and good results

By

App doesn’t work

I had high hopes for PicMa. It had everything I needed. I cannot use it after buying it because the screen freezes after opening PicMa . Very disappointing.

By

Reviews disappear???

Strange, maybe bad reviews are automatically rejected? First reviews were longer, getting tired of writing so I’ll summarize. Needs some instructions. Ads are maddening, maybe things get better if you pay.

By

Um … first reaction was wow, but…

Lol, okay so… I used PicMa to “restore” an old photo of my mom with her siblings and mom. The photo was maybe taken in the 90’s? The photo is blurry and, with my mom, grandma, and aunt, now gone, I was hoping to be able to use PicMa to fix a favorite photo of them. At first I was shocked and thrilled at how well PicMa made the picture not blurry anymore!! …Buuuut then I zoomed in. …It just replaced all of their faces with unknown faces. 😒 Two of the faces, my mom and my uncle, ended up having kind of derpy faces. My aunt’s face looks like it has a heavy filter over it (which, I mean, it does, but still, lol). And then my grandma, her glasses were complete removed from the picture. Now with all that said, I suppose PicMa did try it’s best. To be fair, the photo is rather blurry to begin with but I didn’t expect them to no longer look like them.

By

AMAZING

It greatly improves the appearance of my photo. Especially the colorization. I’m truly impressed with the colorization. Highly recommended!

By

Costs $5 Just to Try It

It says you can try it for free after watching a short ad, but it just takes me to the page to buy a subscription. I’m not going to pay $5 for a week just to see how well it works. Very disappointing.

By

Color master is awesome!

So far so good, it really brought back the color of my childhood photos.

By

Cartoon

I am having a ball working with pictures of my great grands turning their photos into cartoon. I am also a quilter and I can see some of them ending up as wall hanging quilts.

By

Picture of Grandkids

I tried the this app to clear my grandkids fuzzy picture and it looks terrific! I will definitely subscribe to this app!

By

Absolutely amazing

Was able to restore a picture of someone who had passed away, thank you so much

By

Disappointed

I was so excited, because I’m currently sorting through thousands of family photos. I tested one. It “fixed” half of a face. It left the other half pixelated. I was so excited, and now disappointed. Oh well.

Also, they asked me to upgrade to Pro, after they had me pay to use it at all. A scam if I’ve ever seen one.

Don’t do it.

By

Changed eye color

It improved a lot but it changed the color of the eyes

By

Very impressed

I did not think this would work well yet as a photoshop user I was shocked at how well it worked

By

Phenomenol!

Amazing to see details in pictures 50 years old. A whole new perspective.

By

My opinion

I tried this picture with other apps but the one that’s better than others is PicMa but I want better results then this thanks

By

Still kind of early

For a review but it seems to work as advertised.

By

Problem with enhance and background

I enhanced several old pics and there were a few instances where the faces didn’t even look like the same person. When you zoom in there are what looks like smears in places also. The backgrounds do not get enhanced. Restore seems to be better at not changing the look of the person, it seems to clear up some of the pixelation in the foreground and background. I did not pay for PicMa, I thought I’d try it out first, so I didn’t get to use some of the other features. But from what I can see, I don’t think I will be purchasing it today.

By

Picma is amazing!

PicMa helped me really see my older and passed away relatives. Now I can see family resemblances and what they really looked like

By

Perfect One!

I’ve been waiting for a special type of app that is able to colorize, make your pictures look nice and sharp and make old photos look brand new without the original damage. All other effects are for fun use, doing some special effects and sending them to others. I’ll use it when I take my best pics and fix the damages.

By

Not sure about this one

After restoring the faces don’t look real they look wax like and just odd. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or not so I have emailed developers, we will see. Some photos look ok but for the most part the restoring has taken the life out and made people look not quite real. Probably won’t keep this one but it was fun to try.

By

Works well

Has a little clunky interface at first but it’s quickly figured out

By

Fixed old family photos!

I had a lot of old family photos that were damaged, specifically with a red hue. PicMa fixed it — it’s crazy looking at photos taken 50 years ago as if they were today!

By

Awesome app

Best app I have found to fix distorted photos , makes fuzzy photo look amazing , lots better than others I have tried and I’ve tried a lot of them , Great Job this app

By

Awesome App

I found a picture (50yrs old) with water damage. It didn’t eliminate all of the damage BUT the newer version of the picture is so much nicer to look at.

By

Quick to charge

Your company has charged me 4.99 every 7 days. I did an initial try of your app and found it less than satisfactory. In fact the people in the photos came out looking quite weird. I’ve gone on PicMa to cancel but it seems that you keep charging me. Please discontinue my account immediately! Bill Keldsen

By

Blurry not Blurry

Fantastic for cleaning up those blurry photos. Saved many a great picture.

By

Works really well for photo editing and enhancement!

Love the features. I have so many older photos that are blurry and out of focus and PicMa corrects them all. I am a portrait artist who sketches realism. So I need photos that show as much detail as possible so I can add that to make my sketches look like photos. PicMa is indispensable to me!

By

Absolutely THE WORSE

Trying to cancel the AD infested app DO not be reeled in by the falseness of the ad I wanted to restore ONE old picture of its blur and discolor. Couldn’t do but it easily signed me up for a year. I selected the 3 day free trail and NOW having difficulty even finding it to cancel !!!!!!! I don’t want PicMa at all. Very deceiving. TIME sucker. I don’t even want 5 minutes of PicMa. It’s a maze trying to cancel it before it tries to CHARGE for the YEAR!!!!! STAY AWAY. SAVE YOUR TIME.

By

App doesn’t work at all

It will not upload photos. You can take a photo and have it adjust it but it won’t upload from your library after allowing access. I deleted PicMa and tried again this time selecting one photo but after that I couldn’t select another photo later. Additionally the quality was not very good. Big disappointment

By

Restored a old photo in seconds

I’m very impressed with this. I can’t wait to use it on some of the other photos that I have of my parents.

By

Restored a wonderful photo from the past

I am so excited to have been able to restore some beloved photos.

By

Just won’t wirk

The software works great…..when you can get inside PicMa . I worked on approximately 20 photos successfully last night and wanted to add more today. I have tried at least 30 -40 times to get back in PicMa to look at what I did last night and to add those new photos to work on. The site simply won’t work now even after deleting PicMa twice and re-loading it. Such a shame.

60 year old baby pic!

Wow, I only had one fuzzy baby picture in black and white and now I can see myself. Can’t wait to show my 26 year old daughter who has tons of baby pix! Happy tears! 🥲❤️

By

Good and not so much

The most frustrating thing about PicMa is that it’s missing the most basic things. Like an “undo” or back button. Once you run one of the ai filters .. if you don’t like it you have to start over. Another thing is the “adjust” icon shows up sometimes.. and then sometimes it doesn’t. When it does appear and I can use it.. it’s very limited. There’s not even a crop option. What else? Oh there’s isn’t an easy way to see an explanation on what each filter does. When I used the Color(beta) filter I thought it would adjust the old red looking photos and make the true colors show. Instead it turned red pants to blue and a blue towel to a weird red. The yellow shirt and pink vest all turned gray. Once I dug further it appears that filter is meant for B&W photos but I had no way of knowing that initially.

By

Amazing Results

The best image enhancer I’ve seen ever. Can’t imagine how it could get better. What is this company’s stock symbol or is it not yet public. Definitely on the right track with AI

By

Love to be not disappointed!

I joined for the month, thinking, “maybe this will work, maybe not”… But from the first pic, I was thrilled with the results! So many pics I am going to do now. Made a huge difference.

By

Warning Fraudulent App

Don’t download PicMa! this app is not what you sign up for. When you download old photos into PicMa the end results are not what they advertise. They superimpose other people eyes and features into the new upgraded photo hoping that you will not notice. I contacted them through PicMa by email and my whole email account was visible in their app. They srg have not responded to my email.

By

Not quite right

I used the free version of enhance on two blurry old photos of my dad & grandmother. Only enhances the face. When I zoomed in, it looked like two other different people. Not like my dad or grandmother. So it was worthless to me to try more, much less pay for a premium service. I was very disappointed.

By

Slow, Clunky, Glitchy

Upon downloading, PicMa froze up. It took several minutes to request permissions. Once in PicMa , it tends to only recognize one face per photo, you don’t get to choose which one. God help you if you don’t give it full access to your photos from the beginning. There is no way to change that setting once it’s been selected. So what you have from the beginning, in terms of photo imports, is all you’re going to get.

By

Maybe not.

I found it difficult to wind my way through the maze. I didn’t like how difficult it was to layer tasks without having to start from the beginning over and over. The color features were terrible! It did a decent job of clearing up blurriness which was what I needed primarily. It still haven’t figured out how to trash my images when finished.

Restore Pro changed our faces

I have an old photo of my husband and I from the week we met in 2005. It was taken on a disposable camera and developed into a print and then scanned onto a computer. It is really blurry. I tried it in PicMa with the Restore Pro feature, I guess it uses AI because it replaced mine and my husband’s eyes with someone else’s eyes and it doesn’t even look like us. Glad I didn’t pay anything for PicMa.

By

One of the best in editing

This is one of the best for coloring, removing scratches and editing images. I edit a lot of photos for fun.

It is easy to use. I do wish I could revert back if I’m unhappy with changes.

By

Not Working

I have been “paying for” and using PicMa for several months now for photo restoration, and all of a sudden it’s not allowing me to get to the “restoration” option on PicMa . It’s only allowing three functions… which I don’t use. If I can’t restore my photos with PicMa, it is NO USE to me. I don’t know how to get “help” with this, so guess I will be canceling my prescription today.

By

Hard to find my photos

I have >25,000 photos in my library. It’s ridiculously difficult to find photos using PicMa. My suggestion would be to leverage iOS built in photo picker (which allows for things like ml image or people search or even just basic text like date/keyword searching, and has a better/more familiar UI). Without that I ended up just trying this out with random photos from my ‘recents’ instead of using some old scanned images I have that could actually use restoration. In any case, PicMa is ‘ok’. Fun to play around with for a while, but not sure I’d pay the hefty subscription price. Especially if it’s going to be a chore just to find the photos I’d like to use. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

By

The best app I’ve tried!

As someone who’s never had that much experience editing photos before, this is the best I have found so far. I love the way it is very intuitive, and I don’t really have to mess around with changing the lighting, or clarity, or anything at all, unless I want to.

By

Charged twice for processing same photos

After failing the first attempt in providing a realistic LinkedIn set of pics, I uploaded more photos to provide a better selection to create a new set of picture. During the process of proceeding with the transaction I was never given the option to select the 8 pictures to be used for the new set of AI generated pictures and the process started and with no way of canceling or restarting the process after selecting a new set of pictures. Response to request to rectify this issue I have not received any response for the company! Very disappointing!!!

By

Awful!

Tried PicMa just out of curiosity! It produces images that look NOTHING like you, even after having to produce 8+ photos of yourself. Sure, you could maybe style your hair or even dress similar to the photos. But it produced a completely different facial feature than my actual face! I couldnt get enough plastic surgery to look like what it produced! If anyone actually tries to use this as a means of promoting themselves, understand that no one will recognize you in the real world based on these photos produced! Yikes!

My Beautiful Grandmother (Mama)

I’m in my fifties and until today I had never seen a clear photo of my grandmother when she was young. Not even a black and white. About 20 minutes ago I was nearly brought to tears when I saw that beautiful woman that I miss so much, in all her one piece swimsuit at the beach in the summer of 1940 GLORY. Not that I hadn’t seen that gorgeous face with the mischievous smile before. I had many times but this time I saw her in her youth, two years before my mother was born, a late child with a 13 year old sister, and 27 years before I came along as the caboose of my mom’s 3 children. Sorry to be so long winded. I just never expected to have this emotional reaction. Thank you so much for this priceless gift!

By

Surprisingly nice improvement to what I thought was already a good photo

Wanted to see what this program would do with what I thought was already a pretty good photo. The improvements were subtle, but it did create a nicer image.

By

Love this App!

I’ve used this app almost daily since I discovered it. It’s not perfect or for every image, but I’ve been able to enhance almost everything I’ve uploaded. The only difficulty I’ve had involved the account I signed up with. Their customer support is not easy to work with. If a mistake has been made, you seem to have to live with it - rather than have it corrected.

By

I like this app, but….

This is the only app that I have ever elected to pay for the lifetime subscription. Now, I am wondering if I have made a mistake. I use the AI feature to upload selfies of my wife for it to generate the different pictures that it promised. And of course this does cost extra even though I have a lifetime subscription the result was a gallery of a woman about 40 years younger than my wife, who resembled no one in my family, my wife is 65 and the girl in the results appears to be in her 20s. I have sent multiple emails attempting to resolve this issue, and I believe I am talking to a computer who insist that I just follow its instructions to find the gallery. I have asked for the money to be refunded and that’s when responses from the company ceased. however, the other features within PicMa render spectacular results, and I have used it frequently. I’ve recommended PicMa to all my friends who inquire how I am able to do with their pictures what I do. so PicMa , other than the AI option, I highly recommend.

By

Good after you wait for your results

Takes a few, but I found the resulting images rather good. Only downside is that it seems to want to charge for everything ala carte so be ready to spend a couple bucks.
