I signed up for a free trial through Hooptober on Letterboxd and the website allowed me to put my credit card information in then promptly failed to load any other web pages. I downloaded Screambox which wouldn’t work either. At this point I just want to cancel my account. I logged into Screambox on a friend’s device and Screambox worked enough for me to get to my account settings but to delete my account it sent me back to the website which wouldn’t open on my friend’s device either. I’ll try again in a couple of days but I’m close to blocking payment through my credit card if they can’t manage to get their service or even the website to work.

Movie selection is embarrassing compared to Sh___. Freddy’s Nightmares is worth the price alone with subscription length depending on how fast you can binge. Absolutely pathetic they can make a deal for Freddy’s Nightmares and not have an Apple TV app. Can you airplay? Sure…but let’s be real: they finally make that deal and I have to airplay from my phone and then wait for it to ask if I want to airplay the audio to a separate device? If you’re going to announce that deal, be really on all devices, and maybe TRY to compete with your rival’s movies. Seriously though: Apple TV app, tomorrow.

The fact that sound doesn’t work when my phone is on silent is a huge problem. Please fix that.

Screambox functions fine but I have yet to watch anything on my TV as the casting function completely closes out Screambox . It also shows me as a subscriber but won’t let me watch select premium shows even though the browser does. Pretty bad for having a bunch of ad space and people willing to talk you up when you don’t have a functioning app. You aren’t in beta testing anymore.

When trying to watch certain things, you can’t. When pushing play, which with some movies, is impossible to do. The play butting is right where the writing is,as to who directed the movie, who’s in it, then you have it also going into the suggestion movies. It doesn’t happen to every movie, but it happened enough, to frustrate me enough to cancel my subscription.

I’ve tried numerous times to get a paid membership and it never goes through. The website is also of little help as I am accessing it via a mobile device and it only wants to open Screambox - which seems poorly designed at this point. It looks like they have decent movies/shows that I would love to watch… but they won’t take my money! Also, no app on Apple TV?

I would like to get a subscription but it’s not on the previous Apple TV. I will not airplay off my phone at the same rate as shudder or even a. Free app like Tubi.

Screambox is great with the new update and has a lot of good content.

This is probably one of the worse UIs I’ve seen. I thought there would be improvements after this app was acquired but it just appears to be a huge step back.

Really disappointed. Wanted to see the new Pennywise doc and even subscribed to premium, and your app nor the website will play it. Can we get this fixed please??

It’s not fair that I can’t use an apple gift card to get the premium subscription. I have to use my card that’s ridiculous every other app on this Apple store allows me to use a gift card but not this.

It’s a great new app much better than the old one All I need now is the Apple TV app.

I started my monthly trial to three weeks ago i’m loving the new this app app I also browse all the movies on Screambox like the barn and Burial Ground. These are my two favorite movies to watch and I also love the movie watch if you dare? I can also watch Bloody Disgusting TV on Screambox to which is pretty cool but I also love the movie sound footage and I am also a fan of underground horror movies and I also love movies curated by Barbara Crampton who starred in the fog! I would love to see more movies added to this app but there was a movie that I like and it’s called headless and I also love movies fromsovhorror and because I like them I would love to see their movies on Screambox because I love found footage horror movies and I also love movies from unearthed films I would also love to see movies from their site on Screambox and I also love Shakya mantras like Mondo cane and faces of death! And I also would love to see the traces of death series I don’t do DVDs anymore so this is how I stream movies these days and I would love to see movies from brain damage films what I also love Alvira and I’m also a fan of the grind house and exploitation movies from the 1970s and I also love extreme cinema and I also browse the genre of horror movies like torture and extreme and brutal disturbing body horror! I would love to see shot on video horror movies and extreme underground horror movies from unearthed films Brain damage films there’s a movie they recommend and it’s called the burning Moon so keep it up keep updating Screambox and keep adding more movies

Screambox for android has a choice to stream thru chromecast but Screambox for apple doesn’t. Apple users are a disadvantage.

Garbage. There is no excuse for an app whose single purpose is to stream video to not have an Apple TV app and airplay support. I’ll be cancelling before the trial period ends.

Got a sub to watch movies on Halloween today. Wanted to watch terrifier 2 and others tonight. After getting the sub which I thought was 5 a month found out I’m in a free trial. Tried to watch terrifier 2 to see how it looks on the streaming service loading wheel comes up then goes away tried another movie at random same thing won’t start it was called satans little helper tried another some corn movie same tv station thing works but that it. Can’t I watch the movie on the free trial can I pay the 5 and watch terrifier 2 and the others. Now I have to buy tickets to see terrifier 2 at the theater tonight because I have a feeling this won’t get resolved today. So far I’m not impressed it worked all of a sudden pit my ranting up to 5 of the movies go all the way through without dropping and the start I’ll keep the subscription going I love horror movies.

I downloaded and subscribed last night. It’s yearly subscription isn’t much more than what some streaming services charge per month. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about Screambox and casting, but so far I haven’t had any problems with Vizio smart-cast. Maybe they fixed that in a recent update. Overall, I think it’s worth supporting indie films and having a ton of cheesy/disturbing/scary content to watch

It is unbelievable to think that the service with the most-interesting horror movie in some time can’t be streamed on a big screen TV. No this app app on Apple TV or Google Play store is inexcusable. The casting option is painful to watch on a large screen. Such a waste of what could be an interesting service and give other horror services a run is left behind by its lack of innovation. If all you need it for is a phone or IPad then have at it. If you want it on your TV, stay away until they figure it out.

Not only is the movie selection laughable, but to really top it off, if you’re watching one of the live streams, every time they take a “commercial break” when it comes back to the movie, the audio is no longer in sync with the video. You have to leave the stream then come back to get it back in sync. Thinking this was an issue with my tv, I tested this on my phone and experienced the same thing. What’s up with the commercials anyway? They’re just BloodyDisgusting ID’s, not even real ads. I’m paying to access your content, just stream the movies and fix your stuff.

I had an issue signing into my account, and this app customer service answered my request within minutes and resolved my issue. If you love horror movies, definitely worth paying for a sub, especially considering how inexpensive it is. Was very happy they now have an Apple TV app. Hopefully they’ll have Play Station/Xbox apps in the future. :)

I honestly can’t believe Apple allowed such a fundamentally broken app on Screambox Store. Screambox does nothing except let you sign up so it can take your money. Doesn’t play anything just has a blank screen with a few titles on it. Website is no different literally does nothing. Right now I can’t even reset my password because the page instantly reloads to the home page as soon as I click the link in my email. This is quite honestly completely unacceptable. Would give this zero stars if it were an option.

The other guy does not understand what this service is for. this is a masterpiece of everything you want if you like schlocky campy low budget horror. give it a shot for that reason alone you will have so much fun watching this with a group of people that it’s worth the subscription for the night at least.

I love this service even more since the big upgrades were made. Tons of horror movies and shows I know about and love and a crazy big archive of deep cuts that I’m just learning about. Well done Bloody Disgusting!

I’ve been a subscriber for months but I almost never watch it because there’s zero discovery with an airplay-based service. Airplay is a pain anyway.

I recommend not using their standalone subscription unless you have a Roku to watch it on. Otherwise, get the Channels version (or get AMC+/Shudder instead). It’s not really reasonable that they sell to Apple users on iOS but don’t support tvOS.

On my fire TV the this app app no longer works at all. The only available option is to sub through Prime Video.

Screambox is missing key features like the standard video transition when using another app.

I think this app is likely to go Prime Video sub only in the near future. There are some good movies here, but most are available free with ads elsewhere.

They do seem to be working on their catalog but the Prime Video sub will be cost prohibitive.

When I first downloaded Screambox it had some bugs. Seems like they are working the bugs out. I’m not much into beta testing but I am into horror. So keep improving Screambox .

The this app team continues to improve Screambox and service. This New version works fantastic and I can cast it to my TV for big screen horror bliss. Looking forward to fun future app features!

I subscribed so that I could watch Terrifier 2 on Halloween since it was released on here today. It should’ve been released on Shudder because Screambox is so glitchy. It seemed to work fine at first but all I had to do was pause it and now even after closing and reopening Screambox it won’t load the movie.

Please fix!!!

An app for watching movies that works only in portrait orientation?

Love the selection of movies but Screambox is less than useless.

Don’t make my mistake and pay for anything before checking if this MOVIE APP can actually be used for WATCHING MOVIES without wasting almost all of your screen.

Well, this app finally added an Apple TV app. About a year late from what was initially promised. This corrected one of my primary two complaints about the service. The quality of movies has improved so, that is an added bonus. I have renewed my subscription after dropping it for the past year. The only issue I still have is in regards to their limitation on devices. this app limits you to 4 devices and 1 computer to use Screambox . You can only change/remove 3 of your devices every 90 days. This isn't mentioned when you subscribe to the service and really should be disclosed.
For me this is a major issue as I don't watch the service every day and I have too many devices where I may want to stream on at one time or another. Counting streaming tv devices, tablets and phone I have about 7. There still isn't an app for game systems however, it wouldn't matter due to the limitations. I don't stream from a pc but, I can't use that license for another device. Why not?
They should allow you to use any of your devices and perhaps limit it to two streaming at the same time. Every other service I can think of doesn't limit number of devices you sign in to and potentially stream on. Please correct this and I will update my review again. So far things are improving but, they still have a way to go to be competitive with other services such as Shudder or Arrow.

I’m a fan of the service. The major downside, no apps for firetv/android tv. I’m not a fan of casting at all. This will be the reason I end up not renewing.

I subscribed today and see that the movie selection is average. Not much different from Sh___, which I love and has more selections. The main problem is the subtitles on 2 Apple devices I have used so far cannot be turned off, which makes it a pain to watch when you don’t need them. So far, I will not renew after a month.

Can’t even watch a movie because it’s telling me I’m not subscribed but I am subscribed and when I tried to re subscribe they told me I couldn’t because I was subscribed. No place to email customer support. But hey they gladly took my $7. Good for them. I cancelled. Keep the $7 because it’s not worth dealing with this pitiful app service any more and hopefully terrifier 2 ends up on a better platform.

Unfortunately, Screambox can be wonky. It’s currently insisting I update and it won’t play anything until I do. There’s nothing to update, though. Also, it defaults to vertical and not horizontal layout which is bizarre.
Love the content but the devs need to make this an app for 2024 and not 2009.
