This is going to be long. TL;DR- avoid this game like the plague. First off, I can’t remember that last time I played an mmo with ZERO customization. That earned this game a 1 star and I almost deleted it right then and there, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. You’re only real customization option it’s to pick different races, which are also gender-locked. After finally choosing a race for the class I was, let’s say, content with I loaded up and started playing. After finally getting control of my character I realized, in the process of switching races to see what look I liked, it doesn’t remember which class you picked and defaults to the first one. Easy fix, or so I thought. I wanted the name I had so I went about deleting my character since I had no playtime anyway and was hit with quite possibly the dumbest sentence ever read on an mmo character deletion screen. I’m going to paraphrase because I don’t remember the exact words and I’m not about to download this game again just to see what it said. It said “You can not delete characters under level 60.” What?! I’ve been playing mmos for more than 10 years and I’ve never not been able to delete a character whenever I wanted. This notion completely deleted what will I had left to play this game and in turn decided to delete the game itself off my phone. There are much better mobile mmos out there than this. Save yourself some headache and just look for those instead.

No customization. No gear description. No character interface most people would recognize and nothing that shows your gear on you. No loot drops after a certain point, even in their events. Leveling slows down abruptly just before 30, after being all over the place at the beginning. Farming endlessly for no loot, just to keep up with hp potions. Chat system is horrible and so tiny you can barely see. Already has bots advertising in chat.
Stay away, don’t spend money and maybe another company will give the franchise a go and do better. They could scarcely do worse.

Shame on Apple for allowing these trash Pay To Win games to plague the world with mechanics optimized to prey on human beings' tendency to get addicted to gambling and throw away their hard-earned money for nothing more than some data in a database somewhere.

I quit playing this game because it is completely saturated with bots farming currency and players who spend thousands of dollars to be able to one-shot you. That's truly sad because if the game was balanced or not pay to win, it would actually be a fun MMO. And it would not be hard to fix it.

But until Apple bans this kind of exploitative software then can you really blame NC Soft for taking advantage? I imagine Apple makes billions of dollars of revenue off things like this.

I’ve played mobile games for eight years and almost every mobile MMO launched. This game is horrible. It’s quests to kill X, talk to X, go here and get X, etc. Very boring. BUT, the worse? You need to stay online and AFK grind mobs aimlessly nonstop to be close to competitive. Who wants to keep their mobile device on a game all day/night? Also, players just gank you while doing BEGINNER quests. Lastly, want to upgrade gear? You can! But you also risk losing the item! I’m P2W and I uninstalled this game within a day. These companies need to get a clue about game mechanics for MOBILE games.

First 30 minutes of game play reminded me of Order and Chaos and if I didn’t know that this was called Lineage, I would have never though it was. There is nothing about this game that makes it Lineage 2, except for the intro and some npc names.
The mundane auto-follow and auto-hunt are really what take the entire game to a 1 star for me. What’s the point of spending time when half of the process is done automatically?
Not to mention the sheer complexity and lack of information about game functions dealing with gear, craft, etc.
This game is definitely not finished.

The problem is the same as it has always been for NCwest Lineage 2 servers- infestation of gold sellers, this time selling diamonds at 1/3 the price you can legally buy in the store. Keyword is legally, which doesn’t stop the bots running the operations from causing 2+ hour login queues. But be weary of buying diamond through these sellers- NCsoft does ban the buyers in effective number compared to weeding out the actual infestation.

Please do something. Not only are they undercutting you by a great deal, they are ruining a game that has major potential for a cross platform mmo.

I’ve tried for 7 days straight to log in and create a character without any luck. I read online my best chance was to try and make a character right after server maintenance, even then the servers showed full even with normal traffic. I even proceeded to message support on ncsofts website, and was told to try and different times of the day lol. Ncsoft must have forgot or abandoned the game after the initial cash grab. Loved original lineage 2 and after interlude ncsoft has ruined everything it’s touched. Was playing for nostalgia but couldn’t even do that.

The class system makes 0 sense to me… and it’s locked behind GACHA boxes with .002% chances to get what you need for end game.

It may be a smooth experience for some early game but you can tell that end game will be an extremely massive grind with big paywalls line L2 PC has.

Community is huge for me. I wish they had English, Latin, Brazilian speaking specific servers. Only being able to read 1 of ever 15 message in English feels like I can’t join the conversation. Same issue with finding an NA guild.. there is a sea of other guilds and 2 English. Potentially this type of game just isn’t great for the Western Market.

Don’t get your hopes up. No character customization, Pathetic combat system, auto play of course. You kill 50 mobs and then repeat over and over and over and over again.
Also because the mob numbers are always so high you aren’t going to sit there and tap the same button, so you’ll put it in auto play to just sit and watch the screen.
Only people who enjoy playing this are the whales who rush to endgame hoping to boost their ego. It’s not fun, there is no content and is a waste of your time.

I played the original lineage years ago. I enjoyed that game but NC Soft was horribly inept at customer service, bug resolution and handling bots and hackers.
Fast forward 20 years and I find this app! Nostalgia stepped in and I decided to give it a shot… what a disappointment.
Packs of 20 or more bots roam hunting grounds killing every monster in site. So instead of a bot here and there, it’s a literal 20 bot party of the same character obliterating everything in site… good luck finishing up your quest. NC does nothing about it.
There was a log in bug and much of my stuff was lost upon reboot. I PAID CASH FOR THIS STUFF(which is required to be at all competitive) AND THEY SAID “SORRY ITS GONE” THEN IGNORED MY FOLLOW UP CUSTOMER SERVICE EMAIL. DIDN'T EVEN RESPOND.
Never have I ever experienced such distaste for any company.

Here’s my review of this game,

1st: theres no details of any of the items in the game,

2nd: the potions you get at the start only heal for 50 which is godly awful as i have to drink around 50 of them to heal fully,

3rd: the combat feels unfinished and rushed as just about every attack you do has its own attack you will notice it in the tutorial

4th: THERES NO character creation as the character you start off is NOT the starting character only thing you get in an upgrade to tier 2 at level 5 thats it from what i noticed you can change to any character as long as you “Summon” them

5h: this game is so pay to win that anyone that dumps enough money they can get a legendary hero and dominate the pvp and pve then everyone else like was showed in day 1 i tried to pvp someone and got completely shot down in 2 hits by a legendary hero while i was only a tier 3 hero i was only level 42

After playing do i recommend this game? NO i say avoid this game like its the corona virus this game is very uninteresting and honestly anyone who stays for a week honestly has no taste in games this is my opinion and once people realize how bad this game is this game while last for long

There isn’t actually a game here. Post level 25, basically you click on the main quest to go kill a bunch of mobs or whatever, these kills will take 15ish mins so you set the phone or tablet down and wait 15 mins. Then you click the next one, rinse and repeat. Oh yeah you have to port back to town every 2-3 quests to buy more health potions. Oh and if you want to craft, you can’t get components from salvaging. Not actually sure what salvaging is for in this game as it seems to give you nothing. To craft even the most basic item you need to farm mobs for drops, oh yeah except these drops never actually drop, ever, or are at least so rare that in 30 mins on auto I got zero material. Basically the entire game is designed for you to go on auto, set your device down, watch tv, and wait for the battery to die. You don’t actually get to play a game here.

The title says it all, this game has been an utter disappointment. Everything that made the original L2 special has been reduced to P2W GACHA items. If you can get past the constant pop ups to buy items from the shop, gold spammers, and AWFUL UI then you’ll find a litany of other issues plaguing this game. Including; LAG, Glitches, Toxic Chat, Uneventful leveling process, Endless Grinding with no payoff, and no specific class specialization. The class system is a MESS, you have to get “luck of thew draw (Spend more money)” to obtain a top tier class that isn’t even relative to your starting class. The leveling process, WOW, how do you mess up that bad? If you aren’t playing ORB then FORGET about leveling efficiently, you’ll spend more time dead, and buying potions then you will actually enjoying your chosen class. Oh, you wanna customize your character? Haha, no. You are gender-locked & the items your equip make no difference in your appearance.

Seems NCSOFT need to go back to the drawing board, I’d rather play New World with all its bugs, because at least that game offers a hint of differentiation.

This game is a big fat L

Ok so not a bad game. Graphics are good and there’s a lot of good story to it. HOWEVER, other players can be annoying. When you’re in the middle of a task and you’re auto hunting it’s annoying for another character to jump on you and kill you while you’re trying to finish your goals. It’s annoying and you have little reaction time to get them off your back. Furthermore, while pvp can be fun it’s much nicer when you’re able to request it versus just launching in. Another issue is trying to switch between classes and choosing one that’s well rounded. Not bad overall, but needs work.

Ok, so the graphics are amazing. Storyline ok. Animations, check. But who did you hire to do that user interface? It’s sooooo bad. Where’s the character and gear preview? Where’s the graphics for the gear? You have a rectangle with some weird oblong shaped-box that people are somehow supposed to decode in their heads and then imagine what it might be. On top of that, there’s only these tiny little shabby-looking icons for gear. It didn’t give me even the slightest attraction to upgrade, IF I even how I’m supposed to do that? The instructions aren’t there. Burying complex structures into a lousy beta-UI is not polished or finished. Face it, the UI is BETA. It looks like you ran out of money to finish the game and sold the release as-is. But sorry, no one is going to throw money at 1st generation mmorpg boxes whose functionality hurts my head to figure out. I’m telling you this for your own good because it could be a winner, you just pushed it out during development and that’s never a good idea. You need an overhaul of the UI and a concise plan to consolidate menus so that character progression and gear is simplified, flows easily and looks good. Had to give it only 2 stars because without a good UI, it’s a video, not a video game.

This game has a wonderful look. I especially like the fact you can go AFK and let your toon grind, without getting kicked. The interface is simplistic and usable. Albeit, hardly anything to write home about. The things I hate: 1. Bots, bots, and more bots. 2. A system that has no penalty for being a red player. This game has a poisonous community where all the top players are PK’ers, belonging to the murder guilds. 3. Winning @ PVP no skill. Just that you be a much higher level and better geared. 4. Everything costs too much.

I was really looking forward to the game's release date but was really disappointed. 1 / soulhot can be seen as a symbol of l2 but it is too expensive compared to the amount you can kill 1 monster. 2 / Item upgrade system: it's very difficult to find materials, if you can't upgrade, you will lose items and the success rate is also low. I hope the publisher will reduce the cost of supplies and upgrade rate as well as remove the mechanism of losing items when upgrading

Visuals are great, gameplay is boring. You can essentially set your phone down and it just plays itself, combat system is auto attack + auto skill and when you do take control it isn’t particularly fun or skill based. Game commits the usual mobile sins, tons of currencies constant pop ups for real money shop items and overly grindy. If you are looking for something with any semblance of depth this is not it, the game is not even a good reimagining of the original lineage 2 which has a good number of sand box elements in it’s day.

Lineage w is another game In development by NC and currently available in other regions, that title is a remake of the first game in the series. On the whole I am finding that one allot more fun, it’s actually a 1:1 remake of the game it’s trying to be. If you want something to play right now on mobile in the lineage universe I would say go ahead and try revolution, it’s grindy and has auto play but I think it has been better thought out for a mobile lineage game.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. I was trying and even got to level 41 with a cleric. That’s even though the chat window was nonstop filled with spam from fake player accounts trying to sell diamonds. It eventually got so bad with bots that login cues would be between 400 and 800 in queue and that’s just on my server. This kept me from being able to login for almost 3 days. Some servers were even worse. The developers would not listen to any of the players complaints and were doing nothing about the bots and spam. Shame on them.

I waited a little while before I played. Installed this game and it was really buggy and laggy at first, I figured with a brand new mmorpg type game. It attracted a lot of people, the server was all backed up. I’m using a iPad and it runs super smooth now. Graphics are sweet. The storyline isn’t bad either. And I like that there is quite a few characters to choose from. With great stats.
Give the game a chance, it’s cool. No problems so far.

I had originally given this game a bad review, due to the overwhelming amount of gold farming bots. However, NCSOFT has been mass banning them, during weekly server maintenances lately. As long as they keep banning and combating bots, I will keep my 5 star review. On the server Bartz-01, TheGuardians are the number one clan, and Soju is a jealous clan that is desperately trying to be relevant. This infuriates them, resulting in never-ending accusations that TheGuardians are cheaters, bots, gold farmers, and other petty attempts of defamation. It is hilarious to see, and i highly recommend you grab some popcorn and enjoy the show on Bartz-01.

20 years… Same music, same races and classes, same names, but the map and graphics has been rebuilt for mobile, and locations are changed. Quests are easier, and classes can be acquired randomly by cards. Races are all male or female, can’t have female human only male, only female elf, only male dark elf, only male dwarf. Which makes it feel like a different game obviously. I mean, no female dwarf?

Skill books still required. Crafting for everyone. Gear actually drops… for now. Graphics are improved (wonky on iPad) but are they better? Not since Naruto Run is missing!

But with the same incredible original L2 Bill Brown music it’s a nostalgic treat. Just don’t overenchant your best gear. No crystals just poof.
