Missing key features of a fitness app

THE TRAINING - The actual programming from the coaches look pretty good but there are a few issues. There are no alternate exercises so if you’re missing a piece of equipment, too bad. There are no program descriptions (program goal/fitness level/training modality). There are no RX weight for any of the exercises. There are only 3 plans available, which you have to pay to see. Looking through a program to try to identify what equipment/exercises you will need if you decide to select that plan is a giant pain because of the way workouts and programs are laid out.

4PillarsFit - videos take way too long to load or just crash and don’t work at all. A lot of exercise names get cut off and you can’t read the names of the exercises. No written description of exercises forces users to use broken video.

I understand this was launched a couple days ago and there will be bugs but for $15/mo it would have been nice to see something better. 4PillarsFit feels rushed to market.

Hopefully there’s more

Hoping to see more from 4PillarsFit. Truthfully I want to keep supporting anything TK does, and I had high hopes for this. That being said…

I’m pleased with the intensity in the paid workouts, but there really needs to be some added features, especially for $15/mo. For instance, having a timer as you move to each workout or group would be helpful. As it stands right now, the timer takes up the whole screen and you can’t watch a video or remind yourself of reps without clicking out of the timer. Also it’s kind of disappointing that the Intermediate plan is literally the same exercises for 10 weeks in a row. But if that’s going to be the case it would be great to have fields to put your weights so you can track progress.

It’s very incomplete and basic for a fitness app, much less one that’s $15/mo… I’m not sure that value is there as it stands. Yeah they’re good workouts, but there’s not variety from week to week. Needs more features.

Great workouts, poor flow in the app

First off, I love TK, big admirer here. I follow him, support him, share many of the same values.

The work outs, and philosophy of fitness is great, but the flow when actually working out is not my idea of user friendly. I like how you can play each video on command, and see/follow along, but when I press “begin workout” I want those videos to keep rolling one after another. Especially in the circuits. Of course with a pause button, skip forward/skip back 10s. Having to stop and navigate 4PillarsFit between each video is very annoying. Maybe other people don’t find this an issue and that’s fine, just putting this out there hoping they will see it, hear it as constructive criticism, and offer an option to play through the entire workout.

Stay sweaty my friends.

Takes all the guess work out!

So glad I found 4PillarsFit! Tim’s workouts are transforming the way athletes prepare! But, I’m not superstar and to have this incredible amount of helpful information is amazing. Plus I always have something new to do each day! So far 4PillarsFit has held me accountable and I feel like my cardio is better. I feel like I had been wasting so much time doing gym exercises that didn’t help me athletically.

No Recordkeeping

I am trying the advanced workouts. They are good; varied but thorough across the body’s major muscle groups and fitness needs. Challenging too. But, and this is a big but, there is no way to record my progress or make notes about my performance. This makes it almost impossible to track unless I want to spend 20 minutes each workout separately recording results in another program. And, this is another big problem, There is no advice on time between sets or recommended weight. If I weren’t experienced I’d be lost, probably wasting too much time. For something that costs $120 per year, expensive for an app, I’d hoped for more. Unless you have a lot of experience, don’t use 4PillarsFit.

Decent but a ways to go

I’ve been waiting for 4PillarsFit, but was somewhat disappointed when I first downloaded. First off, I’m in an area (not back home) where wifi is spotty at best. So the videos will never load. I was hoping maybe the workouts would have somewhat of a description for each one, and possibly coaching cues. Secondly, not being at a place that has all the gym equipment you could hope for, there are no alternatives listed for a workout. Finally, it seems it might have been rushed just to try and make as much money as possible. I think it will be a great app once some more thought and detail is put into it.

Fantastic programming

TK and Juan are the most passionate trainers I have ever seen, especially through an app. The exercises are difficult, which means there is longevity. They’re already adding more programs and it looks like we are only at the beginning of this journey. 4PillarsFit is a must for anyone looking to change their physique and their lifestyle.

Needs more attention

I spent a week with 4PillarsFit trying it out. Emailed a question to the support link in 4PillarsFit but never got an answer. I feel like there is more work to be done on 4PillarsFit and hopefully it won’t be one of those things where they spend a lot of time creating it initially and then they just leave it and let it earn what it earns. It just feels incomplete. If they continue to improve it I might try again but they need better customer support for a subscription-based product.

Finally, the wait is over

I have been waiting for 4PillarsFit and it is as good as they said it would be. I am just a week in and it’s already epic. Great workouts, clear videos, and everything I can do with just a few items. Sheepdog does it again.

What a bust

Was excited for 4PillarsFit to finally go live after initial delays. Paid for the year to get a reduced monthly rate, and jumped into the advanced plan. The programming was okay, but after you finish the first six weeks, that’s it, no more advanced programming. I reached out through 4PillarsFit to ask about more programs being released, and they said they were in the works. Weeks have gone by now and nothing. Literally paying for nothing now. Super frustrating. Reached out for a refund but of course, no response. Don’t waste your money.

Perfect for anyone! 10/10 recommended

I’m a powerlifter who has always wanted to dive into the functional fitness landscape but never knew exactly how to transition. 4PillarsFit and programs are the best thing I could ever imagine! And it’s FREE!!!!! I love 4PillarsFit I’m one week in to just doing the Free WoDs and I love it!!!

Simplicity

Just browsed 4PillarsFit. It is simple, easy to navigate, and the tutorial videos for your WODs are very detailed. You can AirPlay this on your tv or take it with you to the gym.

Great Idea

I like the concept but it doesn’t seem to work on the IPAD platform for some reason. The screen is too small and you can not navigate. Otherwise I really like the way you can follow the instructions for each workout.

This app is life changing

4PillarsFit hasn’t even been out 24 hours and since I installed it my life has done a 180 I went from fat to the ultimate ladies man

Not worth it

Tried the 7 day trial and the work outs all seem the same. 3 training plans and the daily “quick workout” is almost always the same. There is little to no variety. I love Tim Kennedy but I’m a bit disappointed from seeing the workouts he posts and these are the workouts he gives us. Was looking forward to EMOM or AMRAP incorporated.

Unusable on iPads

Wanted to give the team feedback that 4PillarsFit cannot be logged into or used because of the user interface design. I love using this on my phone, but it would n great for it to be portable across devices.

Thanks

Videos take forever to load

App is great besides one thing, the preview videos. They take way too long to load and sometimes not at all.

Love it!

4PillarsFit is well designed and the workouts are appropriate for my needs. I am excited to continue working this into my fitness regime! Thank you, Tim Kennedy!
