I can watch Instagram fitness models and get more out of that than MadMuscles. I mean $50 for 6 months is pretty cheap compared to a real personal trainer, but the workouts are an ABSOLUTE J-O-K-E. I will be calling my bank tomorrow for a refund, and deleting MadMuscles . Shaking my head in disgust. I guess it could be okay for someone FIRST STARTING that has NEVER worked out before in their life. But considering I set the difficulty to 10, and said “I know my way around a gym” I mean, I can’t help but laugh at what it provided me with. I have dumbbells, a weight bench, and a resistance band. This thing told me to use 6L water bottles. Watching the video examples, the model has nice form, and provides a good example of the set. But again, seriously, if you have any basic knowledge of workouts and what to do for different muscle groups throughout the week, don’t waste your money. I only wanted to try it out so I’d have a strict routine to follow, because I do better that way and I can get chaotic doing every muscle group sometimes when I don’t have a list of sets to follow daily. All in all, saying I’m completely unsatisfied is an understatement. Whoever made this needs to LEVEL UP!!!!!! There is FREE content out there BETTER than this. Very disappointed.

I paid for a subscription hoping to get a good workout plan and meal plan. The workouts they provided me for an “advanced” workout with “full equipment “ included push ups and several other beginner workouts that you can do in your house with no equipment. I reached out hoping to get a refund within 5 minutes of buying the subscription and they denied the refund. I hope this review prevents anyone else from wasting their money on this worthless app. I can not get explain how truly dissatisfied I am.

Either half of MadMuscles /program is missing for me or there is some serious false advertising going on. There was a survey/very in depth questionnaire that they advertised would be used in order to develop a custom plan for you, the user. After filling out the questionnaire and paying for the service, everything that they advertised was gone. It’s just an app that has some premade workouts. That’s it.
This is just an app that has some workouts. Nothing is tailored to you. There is nothing else offered here. It is not worth any money.
Sad to see so many people being scammed here. It’s clear that they get you to subscribe with false advertising then make it almost impossible to get a refund. Never seen so many one star reviews. Wish I actually thought to check the reviews before subscribing from an online ad. Buyer beware.

If someone says they have full equipment, why does the program have them using water bottles for deadlifts, bands for side raises, etc? I have a basement full of equipment, dumbbells, and free weights. However, the program uses very little of it no matter what options I choose when rebuilding the program. Why in the world would I use water bottles for deadlifts? Sure I can improvise, but I have to for about every exercise in order to make it more of a challenge.
Even 10/10 is too easy and I’m nearly 45! Not going to be much of a challenge for most people. MadMuscles is for beginners to strength training.

First, they have a google ad titles something to the tune of “FREE personalized workout plan”. I click and take the test, and it brings me to the payment screen where I have to pay $17 to get my plan. That should have been enough for me to exit out but for whatever reason I give it a chance. 3 weeks later, I find out that they have been billing me $17 EVERY WEEK. I go back to look to see how I missed that this was a weekly subscription. They put it in the fine print on the first screen. “By continuing, I agree to the Terms of Service, Subscription Terms, etc. I am extremely frustrated.
Aside from that, the workouts are 90% just on a mat. Even with Full Equipment selected, it will only use dumbbells, resistance band, pull up bar, and parallel bars.

Agree with a lot of the reviews. Surprised if they don’t get sued for false or misleading advertising. I tried to cancel within 24hours. Signed up at night and had my PT appointment in the morning. Brought MadMuscles up to show my PT and they suggested I hold of until I am done with my PT. Tried to cancel and got 50% back since I didn’t demonstrate 14days of using their workout. I read the pre-existing conditions and herniated disc was not one. Anyways I would of thought they’d give me a refund since it was within 24 hours but nope. Knowing I won’t be able to use the workouts, still getting charged 50%. I wish I would of read the reviews before signing up

Keys to making your fitness app terrible include putting all resources into a beautiful, in depth questionnaire, and then putting no effort into the actual service. Turns out, everything certified personal trainers know about muscle growth and hypertrophy can be thrown out the window, and apparently “full equipment” consists of literally only dumbbells, a band, and “big water bottles.”This dishonest company didn’t honor a refund requested only 20 min after purchase, probably because the only way they make a profit is refusing refunds to 95% of their clientele. Sad!

If you workout at a gym and use more than a dumbbells and fitness band this is a huge waste of money. They will also not give you a refund. There refund policy forces you to prove you tried their lackluster workout and eat foods that may not be part of your diet and prove you didn’t get results. I asked for a refund less than 24 hours after purchase and was told my complaints did not fit their policy. Clearly they don’t care about customers.

The actual lifts and cadence seem pretty good.
The narrator girl talks in a singsong valley girl voice, counting down to an unnecessarily long and piercing beep, which tells you to do who knows what. That is, do I start exercising at the beep or do I stop?
The text of each exercise says to do, in my case, 4 sets of 12 reps, but then it seemingly has you accomplish 8 sets. Wait, the alternating sets are when I was supposed to rest. There was no indication of when I should be working or when I should be resting. The girl just keeps counting down to zero, followed by the ice-pick shrill in my ear.
One cannot X out of MadMuscles with out being prompted to start the workout from the beginning or simply pause or because you need to tend to something else on your phone.
Lots of more work would be required to make MadMuscles useful.

MadMuscles works fine to keep track of your exercises, to focus on a goal and to have an idea of what to eat…however they never told you, you pay $40 just to use MadMuscles and then $1.50 every week for the plan…also that the $40 are for a period of use…so basically you end up paying mostly the double for 6 months AND if you did not pay the weekly fee you just lose your first $40 because MadMuscles does not allow you to use it…Another weird function is the “diary” to keep track of what you eat that sent notifications and that MadMuscles does not have…so I think MadMuscles has potential but the way the money charges work are not client/user friendly at all…I’m using it for the period I paid and never use it again, because already requested the refund and I’m still waiting so…

Just getting started, but I thought the purpose in the initial questionnaire was to prepare a regimen and nutritional plan for me. I wasn’t aware that the meal plan was an extra amount on top of what was paid. What’s an exercise plan without nutritional direction? Also, I think you should update your marketing to inform people this is a subscription you have to email and wait for response to cancel or it automatically debits your account.

Workouts are ok, wish there was more customization as I have a pretty decent home gym but have to think outside the box to make some of the moves work. If you select the home option it’s just bands and body weight. Not a fan of how it runs through the workout. I get it’s supposed to be a higher intensity but It just rolls right through the movements too quickly and you need a to switch weights or move around a lot. Wish there was a start stop button between movements not just the play pause button because you can’t see the next movement. Will be looking for a different option for a workout app. Wish I didn’t spend the $60 bucks on this already.

This is a good service but MadMuscles is kinda broken
-dates don’t align with days of the week. This makes it just a bit more complicated to figure out work/rest days and workouts you’ve missed. Calendar also starts on the wrong week when i open MadMuscles . A “today” button could be useful
-workout summary will give different reps and sets than the videos once you start a workout.
-there’s no way to view videos without starting a workout, so if you’re trying to study form for a specific workout or stretch it might accidentally log an extra workout and screw up your calorie tracking.
also please split the cooldown into separate sections so i don’t have to watch the whole section for a stretch i missed.

I like most of MadMuscles , and the workouts are pretty nice but the overall app
Is buggy. I started a workout plan and it says it’s 4 days a week, but when I look at the calendar it shows each day as a rest day even though it should be a workout day. If I pick a workout to do it will reflect that I completed it, but on the first day it didn’t seem to count my workout. It won’t announce the first exercise at the begin of each round after the first. Most of these bugs aren’t a big deal but for overall app experience these small details go a long way. If these bugs are fixed then this could be a great app, problem is if I’m Paying for a workout plan I’d like to have a smoother app.

I canceled the subscription because the workouts are fixed and cannot be changed. Due to some reason I was getting whole body workouts for 25-30 minutes every day where as I wanted to split into chest, back, LL and cardio.
There is nothing that you can change the program and timing. What if I want to work out 50 minutes and for 5 days. Program recommends only 3 workouts?
While joining, I was told that the amount would be refunded within 30 days but there is a clause that you must have tried for 15 days.
Lastly, videos were freezing.
When I play music, I couldn’t watch the videos.
Please refund my money back as I’m not satisfied.
Thanks so much

The program is great except for a few issues. If you miss a day and go back to do it later, it won’t mark it off as complete. You HAVE to workout on the days they tell you to otherwise it won’t show it as complete. Also sometime I’ll skip the cooldown and keep working out but it won’t show I completed the day. Frustrating, so I have to keep a log separate from MadMuscles to know which days I’ve worked out.

This is a really wonderful program that has helped me lose 5 pounds in a week, but I’ve been using it only for a week now, and MadMuscles has stopped keeping track of when I complete my workouts and now is not opening today’s workout at all. A little frustrating

MadMuscles has worked for me for the most part. It’s kept me going where I usually give up on workouts after a month or two I’ve been going for just over a year now.
Reason for the 4 stars:
The workouts are great at the beginning but it gets dull because you have the exact workout every week. It needs to inter change different exercises to keep people interested in the workout, I’m at the point where I’m exploring MadMuscles for a different and suitable workout but that takes time to find, time I don’t have.
All in all a pretty good app and workout for the price.

MadMuscles won’t allow me to download/start workouts so I’m not able to progress my weight in (not a huge deal I have my own scale) but would be nice to know, the meal plans and shopping list is an awesome feat as well to help maintain weight
by Guiniposse
I can see why others don’t like it and say it’s a scam but really I don’t see those problems in MadMuscles . I think it’s great that MadMuscles tells you what to workout when to do it and it even gives you your meal plans. It always happens to me that I’m super motivated to carry on a workout and meal plan built by myself but when I get on to do it I get stuck thinking on wether this or that is better. MadMuscles does the job and the truth stays in if you want to workout or get lazy and not get any results. I mean it leaves you without any excuses to just do it.
This whole site is a scam. They will steal your money, charge you 5x the original amount over and over again. Impossible to cancel, ignore your emails, charge you again. Hide away on the island of Cyprus. Then bill you again. Run away, save your money!!!
