eMClient send my emails directly to the Junkmail. Unbelievable
The reason we use the desktop version is it allows users to sort by senders, subject, etc., for some reason when you move it to iOS and android you take all of that away making this a below average product to use.
I will postpone my usage and wait to see if developer care to consider.
Default folder: always force open the first email in the list
Junk folder: still force open and read the first email in the list
The point is—I want to open only selective email in the junk folder as less as possible, why would developer design an app by default that it must open-read-show content of the first email like that?
This is serious issue for me to consider whether I should be using eMClient or not.
I've been using the PC version of this app and it's wonderful. It's actually l the best email client for the PC. This ios version on my iPhone 15 pro is horrible... it's so slow getting emails. You see a notification of a new email but when you open up eMClient , it keeps on spinning and it takes about 15-60 seconds for the new email to show up on the list. So annoying. It also feels that it's always syncing or doing something since the status bar is always active. I can't stand it anymore and will move on to a different app. If they fix the slowness and syncing issues, I can see this being the best email app for ios.
I’ve been a desktop client user with a lifetime license for 4 devices. I downloaded the iOS app and it’s similar to the desktop version however, the iOS app notification badges do not appear. The banners seem to work fine, but not sure about the sound for sending or receiving, which would be great to set sounds per email account.
Overall, I’m leaving eMClient installed but will not be my default email client until things get a bit more refinded.
Good start, stuff still to do. Thanks.
We use it as a desktop email client, works very well. The only exception is that it overrides default gmail events privacy, and makes all calendar events public unless the user explicitly marks private checkbox. They refuse to fix this for years.
As per the mobile app, similar weird product management decisions are made. All the major IOS mail apps behave in a certain way, and EM Client does things differently.
Using gmail, while in any folder other than inbox, archive button or swipe will remove the email from said folder. This is true for MS Outlook, Apple Mail and other email apps, but not for EM Client. Archive outside of inbox does NOTHING. You get the info message was archived, but it remains in the folder and nothing has happened.
Another example, all other major email apps will send push notifications and show status badge for all favorite folders, not just inbox. EM Client doesn’t have an option to choose which folders are important to a user to get notifications, even though it has favorite folders.
For us, these are dealbreakers, and mobile app is not used.
I’ll keep it installed but it takes sometimes 30mins plus for it to receive emails. Definitely won’t be my primary email client for iOS though.
Have a lifetime PC license, this seems more like alpha/beta release than production ready
I love the desktop client and use it exclusively. The iOS app however… it doesn’t get push updates even though I have them switched on for every single account, and yes background refresh is enabled. Spark will show 9 messages and em Client maybe shows 1. I’ll open eMClient and it’ll update, albeit takes forever for the mail checking process to complete, then suddenly all my mail will populate the inboxes. Also… no option to download all messages on this version, which means searches are spotty and having older flagged items, they don’t appear in the global flagged folder. There’s countless other broken elements I won’t mention - eMClient needs to cook quite a bit longer.
My devices: iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 17.5 and iPad on iOS 16.7.8. My connectivity is 1gig wifi and 5G cellular data. The eM Client app is set up with 2 email accounts Yahoo and Gmail. The issue I have is that the email accounts will sometimes refresh and load emails, but most often I get errors from the email server or an offline error from eMClient . This problem is happening over and over on both iOS devices. No matter what I do I cannot get email to consistently load without errors. My other email clients on the same iPhone and iPad load the same accounts quickly without error. I believe eM Client has potential as a good email app but the way it is now leaves a lot to be desired.
eMClient has great potential. The design and features are nice.
However, it was released before it was ready, or tested poorly. I’m running it with two accounts, one gmail and one O365. I get lockscreen notifications for both accounts often, and on time. But more often than not the messages themselves are not available in the interface, even hours after they arrive. Tapping a message sometimes works and sometimes you just get a blank, white screen. Moreover, the badge notifications do not work at all. Mine has been at 16 all morning and hasn’t changed no matter how many messages I have moved or deleted.
In short, I would like to like eMClient but don’t. I hope the developer will give it the time and attention it needs. Maybe I will come back to it.
The best part of em client is the unified mail box and the ability to sort by sender. The IPad OS version does not support that. Cannot go thru so many emails one at a time. Group by sender is super easy on the desktop version.
Would be perfect if badges and push notifications worked properly. Badges do not work at all unless eMClient is actually open. Background refresh is non-existent. No issues with any other features, but this prevents me from fully switching over.
The one major issue (although there are several minor issues) is that eMClient will only refresh after it’s opened, even though it’s set to push and background refresh. It’s unusable for me until this gets fixed.
I really want to like eMClient. It actually has baked in support for pgp encryption, which is so rare. However eMClient is always trying to sync and just doesn’t update or search quickly. Notifications work fine but the actual app is soooo slow/laggy when checking for new messages. I have it installed but do t use it anymore. Too annoying.
Have been waiting for EM Client for IOS for some time and have been using it for several months now. There are problems and shortcomings that should be addressed, perhaps in a more urgent fashion.
There seems to be a significant lag in what my iPad screen shows vis-a-vis the action that was just completed. E.g. Delete a message in the Inbox and it remains visible on-screen. Have to select another email to clear it.
More formatting features on-the-fly would be greatly appreciated.
There is a keystroke delay at times that slows typing an email down to a painful crawl. It's as if the keystrokes are first being sent via dial-up to a server and then bounced back as an echo.
No IOS Share Sheet for eMClient . E.g. Forwarding a news article that has no native button in it. This necessitates first having to copy the link manually, paste it into the email body and then copy the article header and pasting it in Subject.
However, the big PLUS is that EM Client enables me to create Local folders on my iPad and store them safely and privately while removing them off of the ISP server. This is a feature that none of the email apps I've tried offer.
EM Client is still my default email app as of now and I look forward to eMClient 's designers releasing more updates.
Love the product and have used the desktop for several years now, which made it a no brained to download this. The issue is that you do receive any push notifications or alerts on new emails. It will on my refresh when you open eMClient and not in the background.
I used this program on my PC for years and really liked it. This new IOS version is close to being my new default email app. Features I love include the ability to translate content inline (I correspond with French companies frequently) and then write a reply in English that can again be translated inline. This is a really great feature for my needs. The only negative I have at the moment is it takes quite a while to check for new email. It’s still relatively fast but compared to other apps, it’s not in the same league. Anyway, I’m excited about eMClient.
Love the desktop version and been beta testing this for months. Been seeing slow improvements but wish more frequent updates. Otherwise it’s the best email client I’ve found.
Have some issues where I have to force close eMClient to get my emails back or send emails.
Really wish I can change links to open in default browser however if I long tap it and press open it works that way.
Be only had this on my phone for a minute but have used the windows desktop version for years. This is, if nothing else, a great start.
DEVELOPER REQUEST - Please make an email preview Widget like the one Apple has with their Native email client. It’s always nice to see the first few messages right there on your screen without opening eMClient .
Solid work, nice looking interface. Intuitive command choices that fit how humans do things!
I love this email client, it is simple and clean and full of the right features without the clutter of unneeded graphics or unnecessary extras. Only one problem, I can't find any way to add a password app. I would like an option for it to require TouchID to open and then if TouchID fails to use a password to open (not the phone ID but a separate password). Seems crazy to have all the PGP capability but no password protection on eMClient . Aside from that it is great and the setup is a breeze, love the QR code setup option.
The background refresh needs to be optimized so it has my new messages already waiting for me instead of waiting 30 seconds for it to check all my inboxes. Custom notification sounds would be nice also. Overall pretty solid for a first mobile outing! I look forward to the updates
Just downloaded eMClient and so far I am liking the interface and functions. One thing that I would like to request is that the you please consider adding a search function in the Move To and Copy To Folder options. I have many labels in gmail and a quick search and selection would be extremely helpful. Also for the Gmail labels is there an option to pull the color of the labels from gmail? I color code them in Gmail and that would also be very helpful? Thanks!
I've used EM as a desktop client for many years so was excited to see this mobile version. The one thing that's missing here is multi-level swipe function. Just left and right doesn't cut it.
Love having the same app on my PC and mobile. Seems to work well and updates fairly quickly. It would be nice if there was a short swipe and a long swipe (both left and right) which would give you more options for handling an email.
The only thing missing is the ability to set notification sounds per account. Seriously, that’s it. Otherwise a one-hour test of eMClient on my phone and iPad pretty much sold me.
The em client desktop app is one of the best available given its ability to fully customize so many elements. Thrilled it has now expanded to mobile where there are very few good email apps that provide full functionality. Even Google’s Gmail app is pretty basic. Hope that this one sticks around!
I found the desktop app in 2012. Even back then eM Client was doing things no other mail client was doing, and doing other things better. It's all I've used ever since. There's some early feedback in other reviews about apparent issues with the first release of the iOS app. I'm experiencing some of the same things, but I think it's worth pointing out that they could have turned out an under-baked iOS app any time they wanted. Instead, they waited and gave us something that truly displayed their desire to live up to the desktop experience that made many of us excited to give eMClient a try. If messages or message notifications are slow to come in right now, you can trust they will prioritize a fix. Just give them sufficient time. In the meantime, go through all the settings. There's a depth of control that is surprising for a mobile mail client, and you just might find something that allows you to fix an issue that appeared to be a bug at first.
I am delighted to have EM Client, which I use on my desktop computer on Mobile Device. The transfer was seamless and pretty much worked right away. Privacy Policy of no data collected is as I expect from an email client.
This is a first release, so I know there will be a lot of work to be done. At this time, I am having trouble downloading .eml attachments. The download is stuck
The quick setup with the QR code was flawless. This a the email client I’ve been waiting for to replace the native iOS app. Runs faster then the desktop app too!
love it on desktop,
love on mobile,
one feature request, option to customize icon.
Best email client without a doubt. I used it on PC for 6 years. There is no better option on the market. this app better in all aspects.
I really enjoy using eMClient. However, as I am a voiceover user, there's a slight issue the buttons on certain screens are not labeled at all, so I don't know what button does what
I use and love their desktop app for Windows. A bit feature light at the moment but at the time of review it’s brand new. My top requested features are actions from notifications such as archive or mark as read and contact integration.
