This current version does not allow connections to older (Version 8) 2X Gateway Servers. If you update you may lose ALL functionaltiy. I contacted support and their solution was to upgrade the 2X server. I manage the servers, and this is a VERY LARGE undertaking and must be tested extensively before it can be implemented in production. I work for a hospital and our systems need to be up 24\7, so a major upgrade like this takes a lot of planning and time, there is no "Quick Fix!" It is a shame that many of our users have updated ParallelsClientlegacy and now cannot use it at all! DO NOT UPDATE!!

I couldn't get the sound to redirect but after playing with the setting and reinstalling ParallelsClientlegacy , I got it working. Not sure what the problem was but it's working perfectly now, the RDP part anyway. This is a great app and it does everything so I can control my home computer from my iPad 2, while in another room or from a wifi hotspot such as Starbucks. I just had to set up a 2nd connection with my routers ip address just like with the Windows Remote Desktop program that I use to connect my home pc to my office pc in another state. With ParallelsClientlegacy, I can connect to both my home pc and office pc while on the road, all from my iPad 2.

Well I spoke too soon, still a great app but sound redirection does not work from outside network. If I'm at home connected to my desktop pc, all is perfect. But if I go to Starbucks or any other wifi hotspot, sound redirection does not work. Now I'm really disappointed. When I had it working at home I assumed it would work from an outside network too. I sent email to support, I'll date again if I hear anything.

ParallelsClientlegacy is fantastic for accessing my PC wile in my home network. I am still having trouble getting through my router and into PC when I am outside of the LAN however. Aside from my own snag, as I am sure it is a router and IP configuration issue, I have very few complaints. I use ParallelsClientlegacy to access flash presentations and lectures for online courses as well as to work on Microsoft based programs such as Office and Visual Studio. This is an excellent way to make all of your PC programs and functionality available on the IP. If you can figure out how to remote in from out side of your local network the possibilities are almost endless. The only thing that is keeping this from being a 5 star review the windows keyboard functions. There are quite a few options for shift and F keys but some are still missing. The main missing feature is print screen, there is no key and I would love to see that feature added.

I absolutely love ParallelsClientlegacy.. I've used and have pocket cloud and log me ignition.. I still like 2x better than all of the above. The only thing I wish it would do is allow for a one time setup. I am constantly logging into multiple different servers on separate devices .. Ipad, Iphone, droid tablet, Samsung device, etc... I have to set it up on each device separately with all the ip's.. logins.. passwords... add to that the purchase of new devices and it gets cumbersome.. Developers please make a sign in screen option to carry all settings and setup across with the login.. That would make ParallelsClientlegacy absolutely the best app ever!! At least for me :) pretty please.. (And that's coming from an app developer..!!). THANKS IN ADVANCE :D

Great app, works better than other PDP clients I tested, though I have not tried expensive alternatives.

It will be even better if
- Can work in full screen mode to fully utilize 1024x768 resolution without any canvas scrolling. Bottom bar must have an option to slide down to see full screen.
- If working in resolution that does not require any canvas scrolling it will be great if tap and drag will be translated in MouseMove events to allow natural work of windows scroll bars.
- Long tap without movement should work as right mouse click.

With this features implemented work will be as natural as work on Tablet PC with pen input.

I am just starting the tests of function for what I want it to be able to do. Currently over the wireless the wireless network in office it works great. I couldn't expect more function out of an app made for a portable system.

Test 2 will occur when I get my security VPN system running in the iPad2 through cisco any connect. If this program continues to perform as it hasten I think we have a winner.

Key functions: direct control of pc functions, meets RDP directly with no additional soft wear needed to broadcast the signal.

Tried several RDPs, and found 2x to be the best. Only shortfall I've come across is that the 'send page up' gesture does to appear to be functioning.

Update: Still really like ParallelsClientlegacy , but as an improvement, consider changing the mouse function. When you move the mouse thing to the far right of the page, the page shifts to the left. Similarly, moving the mouse thing to the bottom of the screen shifts the page up. This is annoying. Consider a different execution of the mouse.

Still works great and has features that the new non-legacy version doesn't support such as gestures.

Don't even waste your time trying the other ad-ridden, bloated RDP clients on ParallelsClientlegacy store. This is by far the best one, it's elegantly simple and does exactly what it should.

Works perfectly with all my home and office machines. It's fast and easy to use, the desktop resolution scaling for iOS is clear and impressive. The whole interface is snappy and I've yet to encounter any bugs or random d/cs.

To those having the grey bar issue, go to Settings>General>Keyboard and make sure 'Shortcuts' is turned off. Had this problem in another app and it fixed it for me. Other than that, haven't used it yet, will update when I do.

I was a little skeptical when I downloaded this as to whether this would be able to interface with my windows server 2003R software. It was no problem at all using the RDP connection. I recommend it to anyone wanting to their server/office networks.

I cant believe how good ParallelsClientlegacy is. And it's free!!! I can work on my remote desktop from my data phone. This is exactly what i was hoping to do but did not think it was possible so i hadn't looked much. I cant believe how easy it is to use and work with just as if i was on my computer. Thank God for ParallelsClientlegacy.

We have been waiting for ParallelsClientlegacy since we signed up with 2x. We have been using VDS for a while now and this is just perfect since everybody wants an iPad. The mouse concept, while strange at first is perfect, is a great idea. It works!
So far (2 days) it has been working wonderfully.
2x states that some options with this clients will not be available until version 9 of their software comes out (very soon). I would like to know what they are.
I am able to run Windows only applications on our Mac computers and now on the iPhone & iPad, this is great. Now, I just need to start deploying Virtual Desktops.
I believe it can only get better from here.

I'm a telecom tech for a very small CLEC. My needs are few. One of my tasks is to remotely monitor our network while in the field. ParallelsClientlegacy allows me to do that quite efficiently. Five stars again for iPhone 5 optimization (it took long enough).

Pros: Easy to connect to and work within my company's servers. Can add multiple connections (unlike the free version of PocketCloud). Full screen mode a blessing for older eyes. Free.

Cons: Doesn't support bluetooth keyboards in RDP session when using my iPad 3; can't verify in 2X session.

I was trying out a bunch of free rdp apps that didn't require anything installed on the remote computer to no avail, when I saw 2x client and didn't think anything of it. ParallelsClientlegacy info page on iTunes didn't say much, but I saw the reviews and I thought I'd give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised! It has mouse functionality and most short cuts. Strangely can't do shift home or end to select all, but that's minor. Worked on my work Win 7 machine using both my ipad and iphone. :) Imma happy camper :) Please update your iTunes info, you will get more downloads!

Amazing. I would gladly pay $10 for ParallelsClientlegacy just to support the developers. Extremely well-designed and simple to use, fast (even over 3G), and stable. Better than a few of the other paid remote apps I have tried. The precise mouse feature in particular is so helpful and well-designed.

A couple ideas for further enhancements:
- Ability to connect to enhanced-security Win7 stations (if possible)
- Ability to set a master passcode to open ParallelsClientlegacy
- Ability to create subdirectories to store connections in (this last one is really just a personal preference, as I store several connections to a few different physical locations, each with many PC's in them, and would be nice to be able to group them from each other separately)

Anyways, this is truly a great app. I am recommending it to everyone I know who needs a solid RDP app for their iPad. Hats off to the devs of this software!

Update: the update is not broken, just select "use IOS native Keyboard" in settings and poof the controls come back. Major goof for this not to be default.

ParallelsClientlegacy is the fastest-to-connect of any I have tried AND the mouse emulation is the most usable interface I've seen. Many RDP clients seem to work the same, but right-click seems like some sort of insurmountable programming challenge. This apps touch-mouse implementation is highly responsive, deadly accurate, and best of all it's plainly visible--for several remote clients it's easy to lose the cursor, but not this one. Are there any faults? Well their help and documentation are not brilliant, but hey its free.

Includes an amazingly precise mouse pointer, using only one finger, that allows you to emulate both buttons - unlike other RDP clients that make you pay to right-click. Connection editing is straight forward and allows you to disable/enable full screen fidelity such as desktop backgrounds and Windows Aero font smoothing, window dragging, etc. Easily the best $10 RDP client for the iPad and it's free. You can't beat that.
