I’m already logged in, stop sending me to the website to do it again.

Terrible.

Great app, trash organization

You can’t get more woke than these guys. If you’re not strong left-leaning, then you’re not welcome. Free speech is dead at BGG, headed by lead authoritarian Matthew Octavian.

Nothing is visible in dark mode

Title ^ nothing appears besides the headers and stuff. ):

BGG-Not Good

This application and this company are not worthy of your support.

More useable but less useful than the desktop site

With V1.1.13 you now have to navigate away from your collection list to see what notes you left about it, which means to find a game you've forgotten the title of, you have to click on the comment button for each entry on the list in order figure out what it is. This greatly diminishes the usefulness of the mobile app, but fortunately the website still has this feature

Good app except when it stops formatting correctly

I like BoardGameGeek better than the website itself. The problem is when reading forum posts on iOS there is a bug were sometimes the posts just extend like 1000% in length. Each update this gets more prevalent and is now about 1/4 of forum posts that show up in my subscribed pages.

Good, but bugs

Very very often links to game pages just do nothing, even when tapped 25 times. This is directly on the home page, scrolling through entries, tap one that looks cool, nothing.

Same thing scrolling through geek lists, find something interesting, tap, nothing.

Quickbar

Without the Quickbar in BoardGameGeek , I will probably use the browser.

Love the app, support the site, but…

BoardGameGeek has been getting better and better over time - great job getting it into a great place. but…. ***Please make the my collection view more useful***

What I really want to do it look at my collection and filter it based on the criteria needed to choose a game for a group of friends coming over. Number of players, difficulty, length of time, etc. This has got to be a very common use case for many of your site’s users.

The old Boardgame bible app had this from an imported view of my bgg collection, and I used it all the time.

I could care less if I have parts or want parts, and many other current filters in place right now, for example.

Not bad

Great simplified version of the website.
Only wish I could use advanced search here as well

Nice

Unfortunately, GeekLists are still not loading 90% of the time.

It’s Not Perfect but Still Great

Update: As I’ve used BoardGameGeek more, I’ve noticed more glaring issues and omissions. One instance is being able to do a search in GeekLists. You can only see automated “Hot” GeekLists. This feels like a massive oversight. Other lists are also difficult to find, such as the top games that have a specific mechanic or theme. Another issue is that the main page feels very cluttered and doesn’t display what I would classify as the most relevant information near the top, such as news. I really couldn’t care less about the Hotness list because it’s not that dynamic, whereas the news should be posting things several times a day. On that note, you really have to dig for BGG’s news as it’s buried in a submenu. I’d love to one day see a sort of feed like what I see on IGN’s app (I know, different industry, different standards, but you get my drift). The automated lists could have their own tab, GeekLists theirs. All this said, there’s so much info in one place, I’d rate BoardGameGeek a 4.5. Unfortunately, in board game terms, I have to round down. Btw, those negative reviews talking about free speech are obviously just mad that they got kicked off for hate speech. I’m glad that BGG doesn’t tolerate such behavior as that stifles discussion and feelings of inclusion. Board games are for everyone, not just the privileged who don’t normally pay consequences for what they say. Original: Been into board games for a year or so and it always struck me as odd that BGG didn’t have their own app. So many other third party apps are in the store to make up for that, but all of them are glitchy or don’t have many features. At last, BGG has released their own app, and the more I play with it, the more I love it. From seamlessly adding games to collections to contributing on forums to going through the news to looking at Kickstarter games…it’s like they took every single detail on the admittedly old-school site and made it look great on modern phones. The ads that people are complaining about are easily ignored. Some people just want to nitpick when the good clearly outweighs the bad. I have no complaints. Keep up the great work, BGG!

Excellent app

I am a huge fan of boardgames, with a substantial collection, and firstly, BGG is the best source of information, ratings, and all sorts of community information and resources. A truly special repository of board game stuff. BoardGameGeek allows me to access the information more easily on my phone and I have NOT had any issues. They are continuously updating the features, and so far, it has been great.

Outstanding

I have on occasion found the website overwhelming, but BoardGameGeek has really helped. The functionality is excellent and it really gives me a handle on the various topics available. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this one!

A Must Use for Hobby Gamers

A Great Mobile port of the website, a few bugs in previous versions that have been mostly ironed out, the UI isn’t perfect but more than gets the job done.

Great app and a great site

A great app for the boardgame hobby and the site is worth supporting.
