Uplens: Photo & Video Editor Reviews

I’ve been searching for a photo editing app that isn’t VSCO and allows for a lot of editing features for free. Though I know it takes a lot of money to make, upkeep, and run an app, I feel like this particular one asks for too much, and then it only allows for ONE photo to be edited otherwise you have to pay for the premium. I understand that developers also want to make a living for the work they’ve put into Uplens but that alone makes me want to delete it. Only one photo per day? Seems a little ridiculous to me!

They allow you to edit only 1 photo a day on a free version. As a professional content creator I don't mind to pay for an app, I have premium versions of almost all of my apps, but this is ridiculous. Erased it as I can not even test-drive it on the different photos.

Absolute scam. Said 3 day free trial and after trying to cancel within 2 days I am now paying $30 a year for a stupid basic photo editing app

Love their presets , easy to use ! & the background drops are 🔥 need more filters & more of everything Fr haha

I love the filters for my photos, but I wish I could apply the same presets to my videos. But other than that it’s a great app.

Need to get! So easy and better than most editing apps!

I love it !!!! But it keeps freezing I keep installing it or turning of my phone to get access to it 😢 reason why I gave 4 stars

The AI filter e.g. Barbie is not free at all. Wait to tell you until you’ve selected 10-20 photos of yourself

46 of the 50 Barbies did not even have my eye color, hair color or skin color. Super disappointed.

I didn’t get my Barbie photos. They charge me 3.99 and I didn’t got the pictures!!!

I wish I trusted my intuition with Uplens but I was excited for the Ai Barbie feature. I paid to get 50 pictures b/c I figured there would only be a handful that turn out well. I got 3 that looked somewhat like me, there rest were white or super light skinned. Granted my skin light/medium brown, but these looked nothing like me at all. They all look like a regular Barbie doll, no actual distinction or individuality to any of them 🙄

My intuition told me that they were just hopping on the Barbie trend and that I wouldn’t really be turned into Barbie. I feel like if I’m giving you 10-20 pictures of a black or brown woman, the photos should represent that….I feel like Uplens rushed to get with the hype and therefore fell flat, at least for me 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

You have to PAY for the Barbie pics. I picked 20 of my selfie pics on my phone then paid 2.99 for the 20 AI Barbie pack and all I got was 20 pics of different Barbie dolls. No resemblance to me. Just different Barbie dolls. SMH!!!!!!

If you’re going to charge money on top of the subscription for a “Barbie” version of a person at least make it so that Ai can make the Barbie features similar to the model. I uploaded 20 pictures and got a generic Barbie. Still saved some as I spent money on it, but it was a waste. I might as well just go to target and try to find a brown Barbie and it will look more like me than the AI results I got. I wish I could upload pictures but I’m unable (it doesn’t give me the option). A scam if you ask me. I’m not going to try again to spend another 3 dollars just to see 25 pictures of generic Barbies

I got double charged for the 25 pictures. I paid and it didn’t generate it at all or show it was loading so I went through again thinking it would continue where left off, and it turns out I was charged again. The feature is pretty cool but I don’t think it’s fair to be double charged for an app glitch.

Barbie AI effect is a scam. It was like typing in barbie to google images. The barbies had every hair, eye, and skin color/shape/style you could think of. Not one was consistent or looked like me. Terrible for paying even more money to get 50 images.

Looking forward to an AI app like this only to find out during the free trial, that I cannot do AI as advertised. It’s $2.99 to get your photos. I deleted Uplens right away. Bummed.

I installed Uplens for the AI Barbie filter. But to my disappointment, most of them did not look like me and some were of a different ethnicity. Total waste of money.

I’m disappointed in Uplens. I bought a plan on here for around $5. However I also have my bank account and credit cards notifications on so it tells me everytime it gets used and said this app charged around $35. I didn’t order the yearly so this charge was unreasonable. I contacted support and said they don’t deal with this. Very disappointed and feel scammed.

If you can stand editing 2 photos per day, then the free version is kind of worth it. Definitely not worth the price. Did the free trial and the first 10 minutes it started crashing everytime I wanted to save an edited video.

I am trying to cancel Uplens ok the first day of the free trial. And it won’t allow me to remove it from Uplens Store. It tried to make you purchase a subscription. I’m currently messaging with Apple trying to get this shady app removed. I’ve never had issues removing an app from my subscriptions.

I have to say, based on the reviews I thought this was going to be an amazing app. But now that I’ve used it for a few days and have paid full price, I honestly regret getting it. It seems every filter is some kind of basic tint with various levels of fuzzy/blurry/out of focus, so all your images end up looking degraded or lower quality. While each filter is branded with a catchy title like “Vogue,” the photos just end up looking muddy (anything “but” Vogue). Feels like they were really smart with the look and branding of Uplens and presets, and I can see how that’s appealing (hey, they got me), but the filters just don’t deliver. I’ve tried Uplens with both personal and pro level images, and if image quality is important to you, you’re better off with photography apps like VSCO. If you’re just casually creating content and don’t mind everything being a bit blurry, you might enjoy the looks. For me, I don’t see how Uplens is going to be useful, so I won’t be renewing.

I really like Uplens however I can’t save any of the videos I edit. It’s just on an endless loop of “saving”.

I love this editing app! Has amazing features, I use it all the time for my photos.

I’ve had this this app subscription for a few months now and for the most part I like it. The UX is beautiful and it’s really easy to adjust the settings/filters, however I don't find myself opening Uplens as frequently as I hoped. Would I renew it for another year? …. I’m not sure yet because I feel like Prequel has all these same features / filters and I pay for that too. Guess we’ll see once this year’s subscription is close to expiring.

I literally just downloaded and whenever I choose a preset I try to select my photo or photos and I keep pressing add and doesn’t continue to the next step I literally paid the 5.99 plus tax for me to have to keep closing and opening to attempt multiple times. I should’ve just tried the free trial first I want my money back. And my phone is up to date as well.

for the love of god PLEASE fix the editing bar at the bottom of the screen. No matter how many times you tap the option it doesn’t select it and I’m tired of closing Uplens out to fix it and have to redo all of the editing.
