This is a scam

Free? When I first opened it I was required to make a light diffuser. Hmm okay. Easy enough. Once I got that attached to my iPhone LightMeterLM3000 popped up saying the meter ran out of battery and it would be $7.99 to purchase a lifetime battery. No options. My phone battery is 100% so that’s not the problem. This thing actually costs $7.99 if you want to use it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it continues to demand future purchases of something or other in order to use it. BTW, I have no idea if the light meter works. I never got that far.
Update after developer’s response: I’m not confused about it being my phone battery. I’m confused how Apple lets you act like this is a free app but it’s only free to download, not free to use. It should be sold as an app for $7.99. It might even be worth it. But I’ll never know because I won’t trust a developer that says LightMeterLM3000 is free when it’s not.
Update again after developer reply that this is a “try before you buy” app. No, it’s not. I didn’t get to try it. First it told me I needed the filter. So I made that. Then when I tried to use it, I got the message that the battery was empty and I needed to pay $7.99 for the lifetime battery. I never saw any light measurement at all. Why would I pay for this? You guys need to try using this from a phone not registered to one of you and see how it really works. Edit: I’m a systems analyst, software tester, support team member so I have some experience in this realm.

Absolutely Amazing

Most serious app I’ve ever seen although I’m a little bit doubtful about using camera to measure the accurate brightness since most camera have auto brightness and exposure control. It even requires a diffuser (don’t worry, just put a piece of paper on your front cam), which is quite professional unlike other app. Absolutely like it, thanks!

Update:
It is a very smart way to tell people the trial is over using a battery lol, love it and will buy it later

Not Accurate on 14 Pro

I'm not sure if it's the phone but the readings are off by quite a bit. I really wish I would not have bought the diffuser they sell as it's basically useless bc of how off the readings are.

Edited to the developers response.
All readings were tested using a seperate light meter I own, under various lighting conditions. The biggest discrepancy was when metering under direct sunlight. I tested the values by using a simple lux to EV conversion table and inputing the settings into my camera to check against an 18% grey card. Its incredibly unfortunate that your return policy is subpar given the fact that product is not as accurate as you claim it to be. Even after using recalibration found in the settings, LightMeterLM3000 still gives unreliable readings.

Easy to use and seems reasonably accurate

Tried on daylight (110k) and on 7500 lumen 40 degree led bulbs at 3 ft, got 15k instead of expected 21k, but probably partly because bulbs weren’t perfectly focused? Anyway, accurate enough for me! Just wish it had family sharing enabled, I’m going to get the other light meter app that does have it for the same price.

Great app to try for free with no subscription

People are so stupid complaining about the “out of battery” status, clearly it’s a clever way of telling people trial period is over, time to pay for someone else’s work. Do these morons work for free? I highly doubt it.

Loved “try it before but it” and accuracy

I was looking for a free app, but decided to buy this one based on my experience (I still need to compare it against highly accurate light meter, but this performs good/better as compared to cheaper/mid-range light meters)

Diffuser was an extra step but it worked.

Says you need a diffuser and stops working immediately BUT it is a simple thing to add. Just means you have to have it with you whenever you want to use LightMeterLM3000 .

The Only Light Meter You’ll Need

I’m not one to write reviews very often, but I have to commend this developer for such a high quality app with superb functionality. Furthermore, their customer service is fantastic and very responsive.

Extremely helpful

Provides an objective measure of ambient light, giving me a sound basis for determining where I need more light — in my condo’s public spaces and in my own unit. Incredibly easy to use.

Diffuser Missing - Annoying Pop Up

I haven’t been able to use LightMeterLM3000 even once with the “Diffuser Missing” pop up.
Why can’t I make it stop? What if I am not looking for super high accuracy? I just need an approximate idea?
Pretty tideous to do all this work to just run an app.

The fact that I would need create or buy an equipment and that I will to buy their app should be mentioned.

Have to have filter

The meter works well but you always have to have a filter (or white piece of paper) over the camera. I don’t always have that available when I want to use the meter. It’s an extra step that keeps me from using LightMeterLM3000 as much.

Simple and accurate light meter app

LightMeterLM3000 really helps me to replace my handheld meter I spent quite some money on! But it’s way easier to keep with me and as accurate as I need it.

Sneaky business.

Tell people you need to make a diffuser out of paper (simple to do) or app will not work.

Tell people that the trial period is less than 24 hours, rather than telling people it works for "some time". In reality, there is no free trial.

$7.99 is not that much. However, I don't want to do business with a company that deceptive.

Early version seems promising

Very straightforward user interface to obtain a Lux reading. Requires you to add a verysimple paper diffuser so camera receives a plain gray field. No other calcs or units of measure, though settings and options might be useful in future releases.

Thank You!

Great app! It works very well and no purchases!

Fit for use

Happy to use it. Was looking for an app to quickly check visibility of my work desk. This one good for purpose. Don’t need a calibrated ones for that.

By

Highly Annoying

As soon as I installed it and started using it, it started suggesting me to create a diffuser for the camera. As I didn't need it, I cancelled the pop up but it would pop up again every second, and to make it worse, it started giving a false reading. Talk about bullying 🙂.

By

Not free

I thought this was free. Should have read reviews first. Perhaps if you stated upfront that it is a free trial OR listed the cost upfront, I might have bought it. The trial did afford me the opportunity to find out that it will require a diffuser for accurate measurements, so at least that was a perk of the free trial.

Incessant pop up for diffuser

I’ve paid for LightMeterLM3000 , so I’d expect the pop-up for the diffuser to stop. I’d love to give LightMeterLM3000 5-stars, but this is just so annoying and makes it unbearable to use. Please fix.

Expensive app after a few uses

One is only allowed to try it out a few times before LightMeterLM3000 no longer works and you’re you have to pay $8 to get it to work again. Sorry that’s a no go for me. Too much for too little.
