A few weeks into using the app, my training load focus drastically changed and a lot of my data was missing or misrepresented on the charts and dashboards. I reached out to the developer but no real support was provided. Concept for the app is great and I want to continue to support it but I can’t trust the interpretation of the data.
Update after developer response:
There is a difference in responding to my emails and actually helping to support and fix the issue reported. To provide context for anyone reading this review, my training load drastically changed unexpectedly one day. Even though I was doing cycling and strength workouts that took me into zones 3,4 and 5. The data was completely missing from my training load. One of the developers responses was…
“The numbers are your most recent based off the last 30 days so it changes. Thank you!”
There is a bug in their program that is inaccurately reporting things like training load and other metrics. I made it clear that I would be more than happy to help them debug and figure this out because if it is happening to me, I’m sure it is happening to other users.
I’ve uninstalled the app and requested a refund. I told them the app is a great concept but has bugs that they are unable or unwilling to fix. I’ll be more than happy to increase my review from a 1 star if they do fix it. But their support still leaves a lot to be desired.

I was so tired of wearing two bands with Whoop, along with the $30 monthly fee, so I was excited to use Athlytic. THIS IS NOT WHOOP. I have a really stressful life and I tend to over do it if I’ve gained a couple of pounds. I hate that the Apple Watch doesn’t take sleep or previous workouts into account … instead it yells at you to get your active calories done every single day so I bought whoop and kept the Apple Watch for notifications. This is worse than an Apple Watch. I can’t get out of the “light zone”, even when I lift weights, with high interval cardio in between sets for over an hour + run for an hour … I burn 2500 calories a day .. and I still couldn’t get out of “light”. Because I’m obsessive, I was killing myself even more, to just get to … the light zone. At the same time, I was north of 1k active calories. I understand the Apple
Watch might be giving me more credit but I shouldn’t have to workout out 2-3 hours to feel like I’m failing. I can only hope Apple eventually buys Whoop and it’s all on one device.

Started using this after using whoop for 3 years when I got tired of their 30 a month fee App has a lot of potential but can not be compared to whoop which is more advanced accurate and slick. But it’s not a fair comparison as whoop is a massively funded company with a ton of people while this seems like a single developer app . So kudos to them as they don’t have the financial resources of whoop or their access to actual medical research and people
Find it useful for the actual workouts which I find even better than whoop The recovery I feel needs quite a bit more work. They don’t incorporate sleep into it. Also not sure using mindfulness with deep breathing is the best way to collect the hrv as that is not how most people breathe normally .
Eventually apple needs to fix sleep tracking battery and hopefully provide a native fitness and recovery app as all the info is from apple sensors.
