Disappointed very deceitful company!

Use caution when downloading and using FourBuyNowPayLater. This company tricks you into thinking that you have a certain about of credit. However you are not guaranteed a penny of that money. What they offer is a very small selection of mostly high end, expensive designer type stores. Note you are only able to shop from this limited list of shops. They do offer a monthly subscription service at $10. This allows you to be able to shop form a few more stores.
Most importantly!! Before you spend time picking out clothes, bags, accessories, etc. Know that when it comes time to pay, your items may or may not be approved for financing. I think this company should make this more clear to its customers. I believe they are being deceitful to vulnerable customers, who need help with financing items. FourBuyNowPayLater is displayed as a free financing option, to pay in four installments monthly. This is not the case and in the end this company only cares about making money, not customer satisfaction, care or service.

Dissatisfied

I used FourBuyNowPayLater to help purchase Christmas gifts and the purchase went smoothly and I was able to make my initial payment with my chase visa debit card. TELL ME WHY they charged my boyfriends debit card when I never added his debit card or account information to begin with. How did they get his debit card info I'm not too sure their customer service is terrible and they can’t tell me how they got his info. They took a payment from his acct and didn’t want to refund the payment to his acct even though it made him negative and made him receive an overdraft fee. WHY WOULD I ADD HIS DEBIT CARD IF I WAS PURCHASING THE GIFT FOR HIM. When I go to my saved cards within FourBuyNowPayLater his debit card or acct is not listed and all they said is that regardless if I delete a payment method it would be still charge if the primary payment method declines. Well it was never added to begin with and this is fraud he never gave FourBuyNowPayLater permission to charge his acct. He has a different financial institution and we do not share finances. Just BEWARE.

Order not approved

I use to love FourBuyNowPayLater. I have $2000 spending limit and four was really go to because all other apps denied me. I have been using four faithfully and even spread the word around for ppl to get it. Idk where things took a turn for the worst. I normally use it around the holidays to buy gifts because i have a huge immediate family but now all it ever tells me is the order can not be approved! Since when did four even approve and deny orders? I’ll tried all type of amounts. Which shouldn’t even matter because it never mattered before. I use to make orders with different merchants within the same day and everything worked out fine. Why change something great and make it so difficult. Stop trying to be like these other apps! That is what set yall apart from them. Even my boyfriend is getting the same message and he always paid them back. And now his is getting denied too! Yall done added tjisbcrap for $9.99 to get access to different stores that was once AVAILABLE for everyone! The monkey see monkey do stuff gotta stop cause why? Yall got greedy and your app is horrible now.

So disappointing and slow slow support

I saw FourBuyNowPayLater thinking it was amazing, and looked promising, I enrolled into their “four+” program but every order I made got declined by the merchant I have the hold on my account and have to wait to get my money back from four, none of my orders went through they get denied within 10 minutes, even with their premium service, support is so so so slow contacted them and haven’t heard anything back the whole day, even as a plus member, my funds are on pending hold, my items cancelled. Honestly don’t even see the benefits of FourBuyNowPayLater anymore, it would be better if they just give you one card number, or one that last for 24hrs at least, but with new numbers every time you just get your account flag by vendor and if support can actually get back to you the same day, maybe just maybe FourBuyNowPayLater might be useful, otherwise your money just get held up and you feel as if you wasted your time bothering with this service, this company had potential but they are so disappointing right now and just not worth your time.

Problems from the start

I tried to purchase some sneakers for my wife that she wanted for Valentine’s Day from Stock X . I recently started my account I was approved for 1000 . When I tried to pay for the sneakers the stock x website says payment declined. So I check my bank account and yes pay with four put a hold on the amount of the first payment. I tried the same payment method that pay with four provided. Still the same message. So I tried to purchase a different pair of sneakers at a lower amount. Stock x website gave me the same message. So I checked my bank account again and yes pay with four put another hold on a different amount from my account. So I never was able to get the sneakers. So I called my bank about the issue. I was refunded my money 2 days later. Then a day or so after pay with four put a hold on both of the original amounts . Even though I never was able to place an order. When I tried to call customer service the line always has a busy tone . After this I will not be using FourBuyNowPayLater again Beware shop at your own risk.

Caution

I have used a few other pay in 4 apps each with a positive outcome, but this Four app/company is awful. Their customer service is horrible and the time it takes to get any kind of response is unacceptable. I had ordered a large amount of items from a retailer, but only received four of the items in that order. The majority of the order was delivered to the wrong address. Four did absolutely nothing to help with this issue. Their customer service response was to contact the retailer, which I had, of course already done. The retailer had issued the credit for the items I did not receive within two days of my reporting the issue. Although I contacted Four several times they continued to debit my payment method for the final three payments, that were not owed because I did not receive the items. After many calls and messages, it still took nearly three months before Four processed the refund from the retailer. They charged a $7 late fee for those final three payments that were not in any way late, as I did not have the merchandise. They deducted those fees from my refund. Absolutely nothing I could do to speed the process up or actually receive the correct refund amount. Three months for the company to return my money and short me on top of that. I’d label this company as sketchy at best. Just don’t bother. Klarna, Afterpay and ZIP are so much more reliable and customer satisfaction oriented.

Not updating payments and now being charged late fees

So this is my 1st time using FourBuyNowPayLater, and was easy to sign up and use. I was approved for $200, but only allowed to spend $100 until I can show I have good payment history. Ok, fine. So they have this option to avoid this fee when paying an installment that comes from autopay IF you pay the installment early. So I did. However, payment was made yet doesn’t reflect on FourBuyNowPayLater . It went through on my end and I even took a screenshot of the payment taken from my bank account. So on the day the actual installment payment was due, FourBuyNowPayLater attempted to take that payment anyways even though I already paid it. Of course I don't have it, so now FourBuyNowPayLater is showing I haven’t paid the installment and now it looks like I’m late on payments. I wanted to finish this purchase early so i can do another one, but I'm just going to go ahead and finish off my zip app payment early instead so I can use that one. They need to fix FourBuyNowPayLater so payments actually show up on their end

Went downhill fast! Don’t waste your time trying this app!

Been using Four for 2.5 years now and it’s always been great and easy to use especially around the holidays. Spending limit $1200 and have made purchases of up to $600 in one transaction without any problem. Have never missed a payment and 2 months ago back in October I tried to make a $50 purchase using Four. I was declined with their normal “we can’t accept all orders” yada yada.. It was whatever and tried a week later on another site for $75.. Same Notice if they can’t accept my order. I reached out to customer service to see if there was an issue with my account and they gave the same scripted response of how I’m approved and disapproved for orders and to try again in a week.. The Christmas season was coming up so at the start of December I tried to start my shopping early and again no matter what website I clicked on or dollar amount I tried it gave me the same I can’t be approved for the order. I’ve tried $300 like I used to be able to do without issue down to the minimum of $35 on orders and no luck.. I reached out to customer service again to try and see what is really going on but it was the same scripted response again and to try again in a week(no help). App is fully updated, banking and card accounts have never changed, so not sure what is going on with the company. Don’t waste your time on this one and stick to one of the more notable ones that will actually work when you need them.

Not looking past the non-stop issues anymore!!

Read on.... Like the other 50+ reviews in the last 2 months or so have mentioned. It's a failure now. I have been a loyal Four supporter & consumer. I have spent thousands of dollars through their app. My limit is well above $1000. Yesterday, I went to create a Four card for my $375 purchase and a new "error message" stating to try a lower amount comes up. I had close to $1000 available to spend per their calculations. Of course I just paid my balance way down from year end purchase.

I was willing to look past their issues like charging my debit card even when I would cancel the card/purchase, a few duplicate charges (which they wouldn't fix even though they acknowledged), and a faulty app in general.
It looks like they have gained some momentum with new users, but it won't last considering how they conduct business. You've lost another loyal customer!!!

Use Afterpay or Zip pay

Never received my item ordered from Neiman Marcus because the order was canceled do you not excepting the Four payment method. Email them to let know 2 weeks no response from them 4 emails later still no response. Sent them the email from Neiman Marcus to show proof still no response. But they charge my account again for items i have not received. I email my two days about not being able to log in because i forgot which email of mine i use. I got a response in matter of hours. But when I want a refund for items i didn’t receive I get silence. This is a fraud site do not use. You will get no answer when you need a refund for items not received I only made one purchase with FourBuyNowPayLater and the first store I made the purchase with does not except there method of payment. But they have it in there app. FRAUD do use. Will still charge you even though you didn’t get anything i’m not paying for air.

Started off great but quickly went down hill.

Four is fairly easy to use and is accepted by many of the stores the others with similar services provide which is the great part. Where things begin to turn is in the customer service department or lack there of. The lack of timely responsiveness regarding issues with app and the holds placed on funds in your account and then issues when you go to checkout from a store are ridiculous. They leave you without your order and now your 1st payment is on hold until it “falls off” and banks can’t do anything to get your funds back to you because it’s a “pending” transaction. This has happened to a few people I know and I’m currently without merchandise or my money. It took multiple attempts to reach someone only to be told by email they would forward my request to another department. Unfortunately for me I’ve had enough and once I can get my funds released I’ll be discontinuing use.

Worst Pay in 4 App I’ve ever used…

I was approved for $1333 when I signed up for FourBuyNowPayLater . This was going to be super helpful for Christmas for me to get things for the family. I made my first purchase which was about $150 and it went through fine. My remaining spending limit was a little over $1100 after that but when I went to make a second purchase I was denied. Waited 3 days. Denied again. Waited another 2 days…denied again. Customer Service has no relevant helpful info. A canned response every time… We can't discuss the decision process that goes into approving or denying certain transactions. I know that can leave you in the dark a bit, but it really is for the purpose of security. We try to balance between giving you all relevant information and keeping certain information as secure as possible, and sometimes we have to err on the side of security. This is one of those cases, but we'd love for you to try again in the future! So give people a spending limit but not let them use it. Absolutely pointless. This is the worst pay in 4 app I’ve ever used.

Use afterpay or QuadPay instead

The ap would be great if it wasn’t for shady customer service practices. Even if you decide not to finish your order or check out, they still take your money and it can be up to a week or more before you see it. It’ll come out of your bank and everything. Customer service will tell you it’s just pending and to give it a day… and then when it’s still gone three days later they’ll let you know it was an actually charge and you have to wait for the refund. In the meantime you don’t have the money in your account. It’s not worth it to chance it if you can’t even change your mind on a sell before purchasing. I highly recommend trying one of the other apps before this one

Update:it’s been over a week since they took money out of my account that I didn’t approve and it’s still not back. Customer service is a joke and keeps telling me to just wait.. I turned my card off and they won’t receive a single payment until I get my money they stole back. Don’t waste your time or your money. Use splitit or afterpay instead. I recommend afterpay.

Do not use app

This is one of the worse apps I have ever used. I tried to place a order with the card if gave me and it said it was declined and to make another so I did and it got declined and then when I talk to customer service they tell me I will be hearing from another department and they never contact you. I will have to go through my bank to get a refund since they took the money out of my account and want refund it or cancel my payment plans for a purchase that didn’t go through. I have two kids to take care of and was ordering items for them so now I will have to wait on a new card thank to FourBuyNowPayLater. They took over $75 dollars out my account and I have payments coming up that I don’t owe for. Please don’t use FourBuyNowPayLater. Oh and if I could leave a zero star rating I would. I tried to use it on buy buy baby and I called them to see if it was a problem on their end and they said they don’t accept four as a payment option and it shouldn’t be on their app so it’s definitely a scam.

Terrible

Terrible customer service, terrible help, terrible purchasing experience from one of their “partnered stores” that didn’t go through, still got charged, still waiting for my money to be returned to me. No follow through from the company. No way to cancel a failed order so I’m hoping they don’t charge me again in two weeks when there still isn’t a resolution most likely. Their help chat if answered once goes unanswered the rest of the time. You can’t get anyone to help you to follow up. If you email they just ask the same questions and I’m waiting to hear back in regards to that after waiting for close to a week for my money back now. In addition, if they fail to return my money due to the failed purchase (which should’ve gone through successfully before they took my money) I will be contacting my bank, lawyer etc. they technically have 30 days per their terms and conditions to return your money however. Once this is resolved I will not being using FourBuyNowPayLater again and closing my account, and I haven’t even purchased anything!

Charged me and I never got my order

My first order with four went very well. No issues. Was able to order through FourBuyNowPayLater and everything went smooth. My second order however was a nightmare. FourBuyNowPayLater kept freezing up. I finally got my order placed after having issues using the four card to pay for my order. They took the money out of my bank account, but my order never showed up to the merchant. I emailed and tried to chat with a representative to fix the problem, and sent in screenshots of my bank account to where they took the money out. Customer service replied, asked for the pictures and the problem, and I waited 30 minutes on the chat waiting for a response and got nothing. Finally they came back and said they were passing it to somebody. It has now been over 24 hours and I still have not received any information about moving forward with my order (which is what I wanted to do) or a refund. I use “buy now, pay later” apps all the time. I probably have almost all of them that are available in the US. By far Four has been the worst on customer service and communication.

Payments not posting

Love Four! However I have been getting emails stating that a payment was missed which is odd because I have more than enough money in my account. I try to manually make the payments through FourBuyNowPayLater and I keep getting error messages stating there was an issue with my payment method and to try again. And I keep getting this message with every card I try to use. I have deleted FourBuyNowPayLater and downloaded again, and nothing works in regards to paying for my orders. I’m trying to finish Christmas shopping and am getting a bit panicked as I can’t place any new orders until my current payments are made but they are not processing, I am unable to pay them automatically or manually. I reached out for help via Four chat and haven’t gotten a response yet. Not sure if it was an app issue or update that is causing this but I really need to be able to use my account and make payments. Help would very much be appreciated.

I have been using FourBuyNowPayLater heavily for almost exactly a year (Jan 2022). They lost a few stores I loved, but they have added more, and I use them for pretty much everything. It’s amazing to not pay interest, and to have things paid off quickly. Now Christmas hits, and I have planned on using them for a big portion of my Christmas shopping. After getting a few orders in I have well over 1,000 dollars in spending limit, and now I’m getting denied. They can’t tell me why. I’ve used up my whole spending limit several times throughout the year. I built a high end gaming PC through them, and it took maxing out my limit twice to get the parts I needed, and did so with no issues. Now during Christmas I can’t use my account, with no explanations. It’s tells me to add another bank account, try a lower price item, or pay towards what I have. I literally did all 3, and it still will not tell me. Why show spending limits when you can’t use? Especially from a loyal customer.

4 minus 4 equals help from customer service

There’s is absolutely no customer support. It’s shameful. No responses, though FourBuyNowPayLater shows cs people available. When FourBuyNowPayLater works it’s great—but do not count on getting help when it doesn’t.

Response to Developer’s Response: if you know how frustrating it is, why aren’t you fixing it? There is an obvious problem with customer support (both in response time and quality of help), but nothing changes. Simply offering a hollow apology means nothing to users of FourBuyNowPayLater ; if you actually meant it and cared, you would fix the problem. Your cs department is broken, horribly so, and with an app that is already loaded with bugs, glitches, and unexplained rejections, a responsive cs department is vital. Right now, FOUR is failing many users and will continue to do so until the problems in customer service are aggressively and comprehensively addressed.

Good, but I had an issue

FourBuyNowPayLater is great because you could see the dozens of stores FourBuyNowPayLater works with, but I had an issue while ordering NerdECrafter’s “Not Another Crap Kit.” When I ordered the kit, I paid the first installment just fine, but later on, when I tried to make an account to see my balance due, I couldn’t see it in FourBuyNowPayLater . I contacted the costumer service through email and got a response that did not make sense. I tried to ask again in a different way, but it was still confusing. They basically said that if I made an account with FourBuyNowPayLater , that the order will not show up on a browser (?) and vice versa. I just wanted to see how much I had paid off, and I still cannot see it I paid everything or not. I assume that my payments have been covered because I’ve received emails about it, but I’m a little unsure about that. Hopefully you get that fixed or it works (if I did something incorrect of course).

Not the greatest

Pros: it works just like the other pay in four apps so it’s not complicated, it a wide range of stores to choose from
Cons: It take the $ from your bank account rather the order went through successfully or not so you have to wait for all that to clear up before you get your money back.
I had an order from Walmart get cancelled and it took like a week and a half for that money to return to my bank account because they had to “investigate” AFTER I sent them an email because they didn’t catch the cancellation on their own for some odd reason.
I had another order from a vinyl store that never processed with the actual store but Four charged me for. Four did nothing really to try and rectify the situation. Luckily the store saw it happening a lot through the Four app and said that they’d fulfill my order still. That store no longer takes Four as an option for payment though.
They have a few minor glitches to sort through. Would be a good app if they took the time to fix them.

First Time 4 User

I made a purchase via retailer website that offered Pay4 and used it. I was happy to be able to split my purchase in four payments. Now the problem I have is not being able to sign into FourBuyNowPayLater so I can pay ahead. I have reached out to customer support several times and have been told that FourBuyNowPayLater was experiencing tech issues. I tried again three days later and same thing. Sent another message to customer support and the reply I received on this was advising that my issue was being forwarded to their app IT and still not able to sign in to FourBuyNowPayLater . I am currently waiting on a reply from the cash team and hoping my payment can be made. All my replies have been positive and can’t say Pay 4 is bad, just probably only going to use it this time only, as I would rather use Affirm to pay for purchases as they offer up to 12 months to pay and interest paid is fairly low if you pay ahead. Plus FourBuyNowPayLater is very user friendly.

Lots of room for improvement

It’s good, but could be better. Not the most user friendly, I feel like for every little thing I need to contact customer service, which isn’t ideal. They add on a lot of new stores frequently which is great, but with how troublesome FourBuyNowPayLater is it’s almost not worth purchasing. I can never get the card to generate at checkout like it’s supposed to. Customer service advises it will automatically populate at the bottom of the screen when you’re at the payment tab to order, but that has never happened for me. I always have to contact customer service for assistance, only to be told they’ll escalate the issue to someone else, or that the store is down for maintenance. Their customer service chat platform is horrible. When a rep finally connects to help, it’s not a live chat like I would hope, or like other stores have for customer service chats. A live chat would work so much better, because right now it works like an email system. Their competitors are much better, hopefully they’ll make improvements.

Love this concept it not the bugs!

I think this is a great concept and really enjoyed/loved it until 2 of my orders were canceled and then I was charged for the 1st installments anyway. I had to ask for refunds and it took 2 weeks to get them. QuadPay isn’t like this. If the order cancels for some reason, they won’t take the 1st installment until the Seller actually charges the QuadPay Virtual Card. The most that is bothering me is that I have not been able to log into their app for 2 weeks. They keep telling me they are aware of this issue and they are fixing it. I don’t understand why it’s taking this long. I can’t change my payment method or shop. Today it said there was an update 22 hours ago, I got excited and updated FourBuyNowPayLater , still doesn’t work! I tried resetting my password many times, it says my password was changed,but when I try to log in with the new password, it won’t accept it. This has been very frustrating. FOUR, please fix this issue... so I can love FourBuyNowPayLater again! 🤨

Great when it works

Have used it for multiple purchases for past two years, paid off every single one on time no issues; have high spending limit. The last six purchases all have been canceled by walmart and wayfair. I wait to get refunded. not sure what’s going on. the cards they give out when you check out may be black listed no idea. the only one that worked every time is Osprey; i don’t see that anymore either. Love to use this for walmart but immediately the purchase is flagged for fraud. I gave this five stars here and on IG; but now?? I see a very bad trend here in nearly ALL BNPL. it seems one is penalized if they actually pay off their ‘loans’ on time. i’ve been paid klarna off in full before the due dates and they seem to just find it insulting and penalize you for doing so.. just so odd

Pretty great!

I’ve used a few BNPL apps. Some are good and some arent. This is one of the good ones. I’ve used it 3 times now and completed each order on time. So the only thing I’m waiting to see is how long it’ll take for my available spending balance to go up. It increased after the first order by a lot but since then it’s stayed the same. Based off my income I would think it would be a higher amount but so I’m assuming it will continue to increase once they know I pay my orders off with a couple completed transactions.

But otherwise I’m pretty happy with FourBuyNowPayLater . I use it at beauty supply stores, like sephora and Ulta, so I like that those are on the available to use list. I’m hoping they add some nail/manicure supply retailers soon !

BETTER THAN ALL THE REST!!!

I LOVE FourBuyNowPayLater!!! FOUR is better than all the other pay for apps!! Better selection of stores to choose from, availability to raise ur amount by linking ur checking accounts and best of all u can recommend stores or sites that u love shopping and they listen they rotate different stores and sights so there is a constant new never boring selection and I’ve been a customer on here in the very beginning and not once have I had any problems with bugs or lags nothing but a positive experience from the start! I choose four over all the rest they are my go to when I want to pay in four!!!

Like Any Major Pay with 4 app

FourBuyNowPayLater may be a newer less known pay for 4 app, but it works all the same. Of course they monitor spending habits and access payment history on a regular basis. No you may not be approved to spend a large amount at first as a part of risk management, you may have to make a lower purchase. I like it so far made two orders, one for 98$ and another for 108$. It did deny me a couple of days ago when I tried to spend 166$ on shoes but that may be because I was on my last 100$ in the bank but when I got paid today, I attempted and it allowed me to spend 108$ at foot locker. I’ve also been denied from other pay in 4 for certain purchases so it’s all one in the same.

Love it

I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this is needed. I’ve been using Four for about a year now and it’s usually just to treat myself. I’ve received refunds and done returns with no issue, customer service is always transparent with the turn around time but I usually receive my refund either same day or the following. The stores really need to be improved or they need to implement a debit card that can be used anywhere, not just specific sites. Overall, this is the best pay in 4, they don’t charge extra fees per purchase and randomly run credit checks. Great app and I hope it continues, take all negative reviews with a grain of salt, if you’re doing everything correctly you should have no problems. I’ve never had an order canceled or marked as fraud.

Thankful

Nothing is easy when you have a terrible credit score. Rebuilding it slowly over time can be frustrating especially when all you get is places that deny you. I wasn’t expecting anything different when I saw FourBuyNowPayLater. But I was wrong what a great opportunity four gave me. They gave me a reasonable spending limit that I can use at a wide range of different stores! I have been able to make purchases I otherwise wouldn’t be able to make and split that payment into a few payments making it easy pay off and build my credit all at the same time! Thank you for giving those who are trying to get back on track! This is definitely a great site even if you don’t need to repair your credit and are just looking for a way to shop and make smaller payments I would tell anyone to try four!

You have to learn their algorithm basically

So I see FourBuyNowPayLater getting so much hate I just had to leave a review & I NEVER leave reviews. Okay so first off, there is a method to their madness!(This is all based on my observations using FourBuyNowPayLater btw). I feel like they don’t allow you to “do too much” & they are encouraging healthy spending. I have a $300 limit and I never have more than 2 orders out both no more than $75 & my orders always go through. I did have a hiccup with them when I 1st downloaded FourBuyNowPayLater but it was quickly resolved & I’ve had no problems since.
I have sent emails out & have waited a max of 2days for a response so I do understand everyone’s frustration there. Other than that it’s a great app! I’ve consistently ordered from Dior & Macys with no problem! Just don’t try & use your whole balance with 1 order because you’ll likely be denied(if that’s not for you then FourBuyNowPayLater probably isn’t for you either).

So hear me out, I know there are some nasty reviews on here:

Pretty good app for installment payments, especially if you like discovering new stores and supporting small businesses. I’ve enjoyed using them.
I can’t think of any cons, but here are some things worth mentioning to people who are considering using Four:

- If you place an order and it gets refunded, it can take several days to update. In my case, the entire order was refunded immediately and they hadn’t reimbursed me for my initial payment in 2 weeks. I was able to get this corrected by emailing customer support but it did take a few days.
- Sometimes certain stores can’t verify the card Four gives you, so the hold on your bank account for the initial payment is still there. It takes a few days to clear and release that money back to you.

Overall, I think it’s a good payment installment app. I like discovering new stores and love that Michael’s is on there most of the time. After placing some orders, my limit was increased so that was a nice surprise.
There are some kinks for them to work out, like with any type of software, but I haven’t had any major issues like some of the other reviewers.
