AarogyaSetu is very well made, and a quick look at your version history is enough to tell that you all are constantly updating and tweaking the application, which is a good thing. In such times, this initiative by Govt Of India is highly appreciable and the speed with which AarogyaSetu came out is quite something. Any app developer can tell that coming out with an application that can potentially be used by thousands to millions in a matter of days is no easy task - you all did it, so congratulations for that!

So today I got a call from 4 digit number. I had never seen this so I was paranoid as to who called me with such a weird number. I thought it must be some hacker or something. I found out it was a government call after I checked on true caller. And I am guessing this could be the reaction of majority of people. So you should really use a normal number.

Excellent app, very good UI/UX. just two ideas to consider for the next update: (1) integrate the map of quarantine and containment zones, and (2) integrate a chatbot into the self assessment or separate, to ask questions about changing rules in various locations, or crowdsource qualitative information beyond the identity of people proximity to +be patients such as locations of lockdown/mask/social distancing violations, or SOS help needed etc. Great job so far, thank you.

Would really appreciate it if Indians living away could have access to this application.
Most of the older people are not tech savvy and it would help their children to keep track of the cases for their parents

Though this is mandated by Indian Govt for travelers, they haven’t thought about citizens who are in US with no roaming facility (which will be majority) or foreign nationals who go to India with their non US number (even with roaming facilty).

AarogyaSetu could have been designed purely based on Bluetooth capability as sim has nothing to do with this. It could have been a good solution if enabled for multiple devices person would have (laptop, tablet, phone, other Bluetooth devices etc). Defeats the whole purpose.

This is one of those good approach by government of India. It keeps you informed about the positive cases at you local area. However with time and the way virus is progressing it need to be more real time and more dynamic. Unconfirmed positive number, under review by authorities, for your local area should be included as well.

This is one of the best applications I ever used. Very easy to use and available in around 10 different languages. Especially in this Pandemic situations, everyone should download and use it for betterment. It will gives you the notifications when COVID-19 effected people around you, so you can be safe.

Since I do not have India’s SIM card , I used a spare one my parents had, but when I registered, it did not ask for personal details and now shows my mom’s name on profile.
She has already registered her profile using a different Sim on her own mobile.
So now I am not sure if I should take the assessment. Also I am not able to find a way to modify profile.

AarogyaSetu was meant to be used by international passengers to india (in fact it is a mandatory requirement!). Yet when designing AarogyaSetu , they didn't make it international number friendly... i.e. It won't send OTP to a number starting with say +1. So you can download it, but can't activate it! And at the airport they want to see it working, and your green status. Duh! How's that going to work?!

Within our colony there where total 6 Covid cases including 1 doctor and one more from same family. AarogyaSetu always shows no Covid cases within 1 KM. Why all Covid patient phone is not updated with AarogyaSetu. If I am surrounded with Covid people and app doesn’t give information then what is the use of AarogyaSetu.

I really like AarogyaSetu , but the info cycle is incomplete .. can you guys not update it so it captures someone who has already tested positive or has declared comirbidities? Also please make the information on precaution during the vaccine stage to people.. lots are walking around like they are superhero’s after one dose..

It is certainly useful and well thought out. It can be made more expansive to track health and book appointments in major hospitals. However, stability is little concerning.

You are supposed to have AarogyaSetu when you’re traveling to India but it doesn’t allow non Indian phone numbers to register so it’s useless. What’s the point of making it mandatory for people traveling to India to download AarogyaSetu when it doesn’t even work if you don’t have an Indian phone number? Not everyone traveling to India has a prior Indian phone number

AarogyaSetu should be installed by default on all phones in India. The user may have option to opt out.

App should also seek Aadhaar so that over a period of time Govt is also able to identify how many people have been left. Entering Aadhaar may be optional but if more than 50% population of India agrees to input Aadhaar then it should be made mandatory.

I downloaded AarogyaSetu inspite of the privacy issues not because I wanted too but because I am forced too.
That being said I have multiple times to get an OTP after inputting my mobile no. Just got it once.
Even that after I activated AarogyaSetu after week or so of inactivity I started giving me an eerie message. I retried multiple times but have not been able to get my OTP.

1. The result needed is for 24 hours. At one place it always shows, “since last 28 days”
2. Of a person doesn’t do ‘self assessment’, how can one know the exact result or corona situation?

Lack of support for international numbers defeats the purpose of making it mandatory for international travelers to have it installed on the phone. Developer team should consider other verification methods beyond OTP or support text verification for non-india numbers. It is abysmal to have such a gaping communication gap between the policy makers and app makers. It only adds to the friction in arrival process for international tourists.

AarogyaSetu should have provision to upload vaccination certificates other than the ones available in India, eg Pfizer, Moderna etc which an Indian may have taken.

It needs otp everytime i check for vaccine availability.

It would be better to ask otp only when i confirm to book appointment
in schedule appointment, i see district selection dropbox is disabled even after i selected state; so this option is useless

i often see the server not available issue when tried to check vaccine availability

AarogyaSetu freezes often and auto refresh after a minute or two

On positive side, it provide lot of information for awareness

AarogyaSetu is not designed to work for people who live outside India and / or have an international number. There should be an easier way to tie up with apple or Google to handle phone authentication. It is a shame for a country like India that is considered an IT superpower that the government cannot even make a functional app for foreigners wanting to visit India.

Very good application launched by GOI.
Easy to use. Multi lingual support. Navigation and different levels of information available seamlessly in the interface.

Its only work in india please allow AarogyaSetu to work in out of india also i have download AarogyaSetu but i can’t get otp bcos im in africa liberia

Please allow it outside India to have information area wise... Tried it but could not get OTP...

This looks like an excellent initiative and deserves all the support in these testing times.

I am in USA and i am not able to register.
Why I need AarogyaSetu -

-Cannot i use AarogyaSetu the get the information about my country/state/dist/village information for awareness, knowledge, and keep my family who is living in remote areas by myself.

-Kindly allow people who are our outside can also register.

- offline location feature can also be set based on PIN CODE, Village, District, State
E.g: I can set location to certain pin code to get all the affected counts/persons.
