Good tool, not great - important features missing

Does a good job giving you a basis for planning your future. Really like that you can add plans for “wish” items like travel, etc. Doesn’t appear to take taxes into account, so I’m not certain if the spending number that I entered is pretax of post-tax, which makes a massive difference. Wasn’t clearly marked. No way to control the amount of saving for your plan to direct to specific accounts. Accounts for savings as a difference between income and spending, but big flaw there is which account is it saving it to, pretax, post tax or Roth? I don’t know. And what is tax rate that they assume both now and in future? Good platform and start to Silvur , but have to finish it.

Not a tool just for “Boomers”

I like the tool bit found the “retirement tool for Boomers” a little odd to read when I first opened it since I (and I suspect many others in their 40s and early 50s) are Gen X. Maybe the Marketing department could use a little help here. :)

Why put off when help is here?

My wife and I often talked about our future when the future is really now. Every year we said we would do plans but never did it. Time has flown buy and we heard from friends how good this was to do. A friend I worked with and not seen in years made the suggestion to me as she was impressed with this method. Often we saw on TV similar information but, this is the best by far as it is a step by step of our actual numbers. The projections are what we needed for our life.

Loving Silvur

I’ve used tools provided by my financial advisor to confirm my retirement health, but they’re hard to use and require a lot of interaction. Finding this app provided an easy to use yet comprehensive tool to plan retirement, and also a confirmation of the information I was getting from my advisor!

In addition, this app’s articles and ‘to do’ lists have kept me involved in a more instructional and interactive way than I’ve experienced with my advisor.

Thank you this app!

Am I making the right financial decisions?

After answering all the questions in Silvur , I was pleased to find out that I am doing the right things with my finances in order to retire at 65 or even older. But the most important thing I learned is that I will continue to have enough money until I’m in my 90s. Thank you for giving me that peace of mind!

Slick interface and easy to use!

Wonderful app that really is filling a void. Been looking for something like this! Was super easy to download and set up my profile. The interface is smooth and intuitive. So glad something like this exists to provide folks with a little more help planning for such important things!

Useless if you’re not close to retirement

I finished my profile and added my Roth IRA, after 20 minutes of searching I realized there was no way to add monthly contributions! I think there must be a way to add monthly contributions because this would be a major oversight and render Silvur pretty much useless. If I have to take 20 minutes to sort through cluttered adds to find a simple and essential tool then what’s the point?

Unable to link accounts

At first I was unable to link to either my or my wife’s retirement accounts at the same institution. Finally, got my wife’s accounts to link. But when I attempt to link my accounts, I get the message “account successfully linked!” Followed immediately by “unable to link account”. Tried multiple times with same results. Also, there does not appear to be an option to exclude non-retirement accounts. Waste of time.

Trying to see the value of this app

1. The advice in Silvur is all available for free on web, and the information you find on the web goes into way more depth.
2. There is no web or iPad version of Silvur . I don’t want to manage my retirement on a little phone screen.
3. I am unable to connect most of my financial institutions (Fidelity, for example).
4. I’ve only just started using the retirement score function, but so far it seems simplified to the point it could be misleading. I have 140 year score… what? Looking at my numbers, that doesn’t make sense.

So, what is the value provided by Silvur? I will keep looking for it, but I think I will end up cancelling my subscription.

Edited: I WAS liking this app!

I’ve downgraded my review. My accounts don’t sync unless I delete them and add them back again. This is quite frustrating and pretty much renders Silvur useless. :(

My first review:
This is a great planning tool; thanks, Developers! What I’d like to see updated: *Ability to specify month/year various activities begin, not just year.
*Ability to force an account sync for linked accounts. It would also be nice if the latest sync date shows somewhere. Right now my balances are a couple of days behind, and I can’t get them to update.
*Some info on how the retirement dates are calculated, without giving away any proprietary info on the method, of course!

Unable to Link Accounts

Chase accounts no longer work in the Plaid integration. This appears to be an issue with OAuth and changes made by Chase and other large FIs. Please update Silvur to support the largest bank in the US…

Awesome app

I was not sure how I was doing for retirement. Now I know when I can retire with confidence.

Really useful!

I’ve been looking for an app like this to help me plan for retirement. So thankful for this!

Phishing App

It would not give me a score unless I gave them my savings or chinking account information, even though I put in a savings amount. They don’t need this kind of information to provide a score. I am deleting Silvur .

By

Incomplete

They do not provide a way to indicate additions to your retirement savings. How can you generate a score when you don’t know how much I will be adding to my accounts over the next X number of years (e.g. 401k deposits, profit sharing, savings)?

Flashback when I chose retired time

I cannot finish my profile..... I already tried to reopen APP and restart my phone.

By

Clunky iPad version

I downloaded and could not turn the screen to display widescreen. It was hard to navigate and I don’t think it’s meant for apple devices so I removed Silvur .

By

Limited in capabilities.

Tried to edit social security amounts. It wouldn’t let me. It said I could edit it but wouldn’t save the edits.

Doesn’t let me manage the fact I’m on SSDI.

Too Simplistic for Me

Disappointed I can’t
1. Enter my SS benefits- typically calculators estimate too low and don’t take Spousal benefits into consideration
2. Enter specific dates/months for
a). Retirement from job
b) Start SS
3. Medicare premiums estimated aren’t shown? I guess you wanted the zip code for data harvesting
4. See drawdown numbers from retirement savings

Just a simple score. I don’t think trust your score without seeing the data to back it up.

App kep crashing

App kept crashing when teying to complete profile when ask for plan a date for your retirement. Please fix.

By

Useless App

You can’t even use it, Silvur crashes at the first entry question of when do you wish to retire. If you can’t get through the first question it’s useless.

By

Missing assumptions

Needs to have ways take into account of pensions, like military retirement or company retirement plans or railroad or postal, I think you get the idea. This is a useless app as is for millions of people.

Right after I downloaded Silvur I started receiving spam calls non-stop (up to 30 calls a day), and I had 5 fraudulent charges on my bank card.
