The “selfie” in Iowa is impossible! I’ve now tried 14 times (actually 42 times, sine you get 3 tries per attempt!)
I’m working with an iPhone 14 Pro with the latest iOS version. I “chatted” & did everything suggested ( including turning off wifi and scam software) and it still didn’t work!
If I could give it less than a 1 rating, I would. Why didn’t IA just go with Apple or Google wallet?

Iowa is NOT Apple wallet compatible beware of that before downloading. It should be rated at Zero but that’s not an option.

It’s a good idea in general but the very early versions of Iowa are almost unusable. Will continue to update and hopefully Iowa will improve over time.

I enrolled and everything seemed to go correctly. About a month later I checked Iowa just for fun and my credentials were gone. I tried to rescan my DL and on the back side it just choked and froze and then gave me an error. Tried to redo this 3 times and still received the same error. This program is not ready for prime time. I will stick with the old fashioned way with a physical card.

Would not work on the face scan. THEN tells me to take my glasses off. Which helped but it kicked me out because I was taking too long. Now will not let me do anything. Should have been a five minute set up turned into a major hassle. I will probably try again, but will have to do chat as the email requires everything about you and your phone to even contact them.

I’ve tried Iowa on two separate iPhones. 14 Pro and 15 Pro. Both times Iowa refuses to capture a photo of my ID during the set up process. I’m holding extremely still and have tried holding the phone far away, and close. When I hold it close the photo capture is blurry, when far way and not blurry it’s too far to capture. Such a pain.

Like others have mentioned the lack of native wallet support is downright disappointing as this was one of the initial draws to a mobile id. Other states have partnered with vendors who were able to make this happen, so its frustrating to see this lack of support. Additionally, due to slow adoption from businesses and retailers I have yet to use Iowa a single time for the months I’ve had it.

Will not capture with phones with better cameras. But this lines up with the usual poor implementation from the state with an app provider that probably just paid a bribe to be win the bid. I can hold the ID in front of the regular camera app and it’s crystal clear. Iowa isn’t processing the camera input correctly.

The error code #60372-2002 and 60372-1020 is not listed. Both my husband and I were unable to move past taking photos of our licenses. Unable to set up an account.

Was informed by Idemia tech support that there are no plans to make Iowa compatible with the Apple Wallet even though the state of this app DOT has been saying for months that this support would be included. Very disappointing and really reduces the value of Iowa.

I like the idea of having my license on my phone, but I’m giving three stars because they failed to provide wallet support like some other states do. You keep your ID in your wallet. It shouldn’t be any different on your phone. The main use of mobile ID would be for purchases. It would be nice if it was right by my cards in my phone to speed up checkout times. I really really hope in the future they can make it work.

EDIT: Turns out there are no plans to make it Apple Wallet compatible at this time. Leave it to this state to come up with something cool, and then ruin it. This isn’t that hard if Georgia can do it. Come on!

Great app. Easy to set up. Really needs Apple Wallet Support.

Initial set up was good, and it worked fine for a while. But then I started getting error messages. As of yet I have not been able to get help from anyone to get it running again. Would like to have it working again, but…

This is a great start, but I’d really like to see support for my ID in the native wallet app! Thanks for finally getting this out to users.

Taking a photo of the back of my drivers license was a little flaky. I finally got it to work after many tries. All in all, I’m glad it worked out.

Love that I no longer have to get my drivers license out!!! Was very easy to set up

I am so happy that I got the opportunity to use a mobile drivers license since you never anticipated when it would be asked for it and I usually have my phone every where.

Works well, would love to see integration with Apple wallet.

I think this was an excellent idea! Kudos to the IT and business stakeholder teams for a job well done. It was a simple and seamless process to download and install the all on my iPhone.

I have this installed and feel like it’s going to be so helpful. It didn’t take long to install and get it ready to go. Thank you this app DOT

I read an article in the Sioux City Journal about setting up the new this app Mobile ID app; fairly straightforward. Now just need to use at a business where it is accepted.

Every Iowans should have Iowa on there phone, you can never be wrong with it, If you forget your ID at home or somewhere and need to do something that requires ID verification. Iowa gotcha . Go for it Iowans💪

Works vary well.
Shows if your license/ID is active or not.
Be cool to see what else they add to it.
Had no problem setting it up, the face recognition was a little tricky but got it figured out.

Nice and easy to set up

Clear instructions on set up and verified quickly.
Early adaptor tech so not many places accept it yet. But looking forward to when that time comes.
Currently, I don’t see a way to add it to Apple Wallet like app supports maybe it’s wait for approval from Apple?

Been waiting for a few years for Iowa. It does not disappoint at all. Love the looks and it is very easy to set up. Very user friendly.

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but it wasn’t difficult to set up at all and it’ll probably come in handy if I forget my ID. I would say probably try and face a light while you’re scanning your face. I hope this replaces physical IDs entirely!

I’ve been waiting for Iowa to be developed and offered. Was easy to set up and it just makes sense to have this digital ID!

Allows me one less thing to carry in my wallet. I have not tried it at an airport. Hopefully there won’t be any issues.

Super easy app to use. It seems very secure and is convenient. I renewed my drivers license, and the photo updated on the mobile app almost immediately.

Iowa is a little slow but seems to work well so far.

Simple to set up and share. It needs to be everywhere!

Enrollment was very quick and simple. App did a good job of prompting me through the process and explaining why the various steps were required. I feel like I have good control over what aspects of my ID are shared when requested in various situations (airport, store, etc).
