Update with a refresh and reset option, as soon as possible, getting kind of bothering to have to uninstall app an reinstall app every day due to glitches not allowing me to use with my smart probes properly🙄 y'all can figure that one I'm sure!!!!!!

It’s crazy when you’re in the field trying to hurry and repair an HVAC and testoSmart doesn’t fully work because it needs an update. Totally ridiculous. The devs are actually telling it to stop full functionality until you update when you may not have good network access or the time.

testoSmart is trash. It was much faster and easier to connect with the previous app which now just launches into an add for this one. Horrible interface. The sensor page tells you you’re connected but the data doesn’t show up in measure.

So you show up to a site to get a job done and you find out that they lock you out of testoSmart you’ve already downloaded. And you need to download a new one refusing to let the old one work. Real intelligent Testo because you know yeah I just happen to not have Wi-Fi out in the middle of nowhere then of course even if you set Apple up so that anything that’s a free download doesn’t require a password because I don’t memorize 1000 passwords I need for my lifetime I guess I’m just not gonna be able to download it so sure I’ll go back down to the van and get my gauges. I don’t know what knucklehead green lit that operation but they basically just cost himself a customer who has thousands of dollars of their equipment.

I loved my gauges until this update took over my equipment. Now my unit is unable to be used with my phone. It seems to be stuck in download mode. Anything I try to do testoSmart tells me to download which I did many times. Then it tells me my Bluetooth connection isn’t on yet somehow it has the readings. Add this to the fact I was on a job which I couldn’t complete because of this upgrade makes me wish I had chosen a different mfg to get equipment from. I will probably by a different system now and throw this piece of crap away. Bad thing is that testo already got my money.

testoSmart needs a lot of improvement. I need it to be as if I’m holding the testo 300 in my hand.
Does not pull over customer data from t300 only shows what you’re reading does not have the drop-down menu to see save reports and etc. I would like to see testoSmart work just like the, 330i. App

Testo, please improve testoSmart's performance. The way things are now, it is (unusably) bad.

I moved up to the Testo Smart app from Testo Refrigeration. While there are many more calculations and operating modes available, the Testo Smart app is so laggy as to be unusable on a first-gen iPhone SE. This is a platform that, as of this writing and likely for a while yet that Apple still supports! Most of the time, Testo Smart would just hang up and I would give up on it. It also made the phone get warm and barreled through the battery!

I tried Testo Smart on an iPad mini 5 and it is only slightly better there. The UI still lags badly, but at least it is kind of usable.

For now, I am going back to Testo Refrigeration and perhaps MeasureQuick, which seemingly now supports the Testo 550 manifold gauge set I have.

I installed new app but every time I open testoSmart it pops up that a new app is available. It will not let me use testoSmart until I choose download. When I do it Goes to App Store and says open app. I open app and then I can use it. But when I try to use it again I have to go through this same process. I’ve used Testo for years but this new app is terrible. Looks like I may be going to Fieldpiece for my meters.

I don’t know what you did to the perfectly good program, because now it’s a worthless piece of compost. It keeps dropping my probes in mid test, the usable display interface is gone etc.
I used to be able to show my customers what was going on, but not now.

It’s embarrassing.

Multiple bugs. When I attempt to open testoSmart from the Home Screen The pop up Ad for the new update pops up no matter what button you press. Have to press “download now” & open through App Store even though it’s already downloaded. “ select probe “ section not connecting to probes.

What happened to the refrigeration gauges?? They stop working on testoSmart . My testo probes won’t connect to the add button on the gauges., sure they will connect to testoSmart but all the vital information disappeared from screen. I can only read pressures and temperature. Where is the conversion into SH or SC and the other parameters? What you guys are doing? This supposed to be one of the best apps out there and now I can’t even use my probes witch I paid dearly for!

Was forced to download the new app. But testoSmart won’t work with the testo smart temperature probe. No matter what I tried it wouldn’t connect. I’m back to using the original app that’s much simpler and works

Biggest complaint. New update for rid of the battery indicator and conversion of pressure to temp. At this point completely worthless. Had and used the probes for 4 years. Now they decide to make software changes to get rid of stuff. Does this mean we have to buy it? Who wants to constantly pay out a monthly subscription? Good luck testo.

testoSmart does not recognize the tools I have used each time and have to go back in and identify each one being used. More time consuming. The range of the probes has seamed to drop off.

Freezes, won’t let me toggle between measure modes.
*Target superheat to temperature differential
*Target superheat to Heating Cooling Output
* Target superheat won’t let me use 905i for dry bulb temp.( Have to use 605s only )
Need my 605i s for indoor measurements.

Talked to support over year ago… Not fixed No feedback…….

Hello,

I am an HVACR student in college and use Testo probes. Overall I love the tools themselves however as other students began to buy and use their own a major issue has arisen. The Testo app scans for probes to connect to in the background, normally if your the only one with probes this isn’t an issue. However if someone within range (ie 10’ away) is also using Testo probes, testoSmart will also try to connect to his/her probes and their phone to your probes. As far as I know there is no way to turn this automatic scanning and connecting off.

Please Testo update testoSmart to allow users to toggle discovery of new probes. Or at least blacklist new probes so that testoSmart will not try to connect to 14 other peoples probes.

I don’t know if the program updated and I didn’t catch it or what but I have 2 sets of testo guages and with both sets I lose connectivity if I move the phone more than 3 feet away! I’ve uninstalled and installed testoSmart a few times and nothing works. Whatever was done PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

I cannot change my favorite list under refrigerants, it keeps reverting back to my old selections and won’t save. And how do I remove refrigerants from the list? I shouldn’t have to scroll through hundreds of refrigerants when I’m only seeing 10 different types in the real world

Only pressure and temperature check only.
Without refrigerants options, how can we use creatively?
Need to be upgraded to have refrigerant selection option.

I have used testoSmart for years with my Testo 557 Bluetooth . The recent update for bugs just created a Bluetooth connection issue.

I press up and down arrows to turn Bluetooth on and see the Icon. I then open the Testo app.

I never see anything connected or connecting.

Paid a lot of $$$$ for my Testo 557 Bluetooth.

I went to your support and put a ticket in.

What sad I have Job link for my HVAC kit with no issues connecting to my IPhone 12 IOS 17.1

Hi. I connected the resto 410i app via Bluetooth but its not showing up on testoSmart . Please fix this bug. I noticed that testoSmart description doesn’t list the 410i. Does that mean it’s not supported

testoSmart loses connection with the digital manifold often you can open testoSmart and take a phone call and reopen testoSmart without closing it completely or restarting. It also seems to have a hard time connecting, it will connect and then lose connection and keeps doing this several times.

I’d rate it a full five stars but while in refrigeration measurement you cannot record either supply, return or ambient at the same time.

If I can add this to my field report, which is honesty way nicer than the fieldpiece job link app, I’d change this to five stars.

It is however a very nice software to record real time data for customers and the graphs really do help you catch problems the naked eye normal wouldn’t see. There’s also different measurements that make this the best hvac app in the trade.

I have connection problems every time I disconnect or turn off my probes. When I go to reconnecting probes will just not connect back up to the testo App. I hope Testo fixes this issue

Works great on my iPad (mostly) but won’t run at all on my aging iPhone 6. I am using (2) i155 Bluetooth temperature probes for diagnosing hydronic systems. The graphing function would be much more “graphic” if the temperature scales didn’t float. You’ll be looking at two lines, but the lower temperature line will be above the higher, or they’ll cross, despite the temps being no where near the same. It starts out sometimes with 110 and 110 equivalent, but if one goes out of range the higher temp will still be at 110, but the lower will be 100 at the same y-axis point, and top to bottom will be 100-122.5 on black scale but 100 to 115 on green (and 115 and 110 appear equal on the graph). If you are looking at relationships for supply and return temps the graphs are pretty worthless.

I find testoSmart very useful in measuring and reporting data, however I just wish that there was a larger Bluetooth range. I lose connection at about 7 feet. I’m sure this is more of an issue with the probes themselves and it isn’t that big of a deal.

Many great features and I love that about testoSmart. testoSmart isn’t as user friendly as the Fieldpiece Job Link app but it is very useful and easy to control.

Just like most things. Once you get used to it, it’s very good. I would say more precise options and measurements than the field piece.

Found out this replaced the Testo Smart Probes and Refrigeration App and does a great job! Easy to set up and automatically updates my gauges

I had previously reviewed asking the developers to do better testing on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. At the time the UI would go into fits of long delays and even complete unresponsiveness.

I decided to test testoSmart on my wife’s phone (same exact model) and low and behold it worked just fine!

I tried multiple things but in the end doing a settings reset (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings) is what wound up fixing it for me.

I’m not sure what the actual underlying culprit was but I’m happy to report that testoSmart is now working quite well!
