Sitters Cancel Last minute

Look elsewhere, you can get 1 or 2 nice sitters but be prepared for the owner of the company to ring your phone off when you request your $20 deposit be sent back after a sitter cancel. I had a sitter cancel last minute and was not refunded by sitter tree UNTIL I filed a claim with my bank. Once they say I opened the claim they gave me “sitter bucks” and threatened me to close the claim or they will shut down my account. Well the bank already resolved the claim so they closed my account. What a Horrible way to run a business, if you can’t properly manage inconveniences like this they should reconsider even being a business!

Request for Reinstatement of SitterTree Accoun

Dear this app Support Team, I am writing to petition for the reinstatement of my this app account, which was recently closed due to my last-minute cancellation of a scheduled job. Regrettably, I had to cancel my commitment as I unexpectedly fell ill at work and was subsequently diagnosed with Covid-19. I fully understand the importance of upholding the qualifications and responsibilities associated with being a caregiver through this app. However, I found myself in an unforeseen circumstance beyond my control. Given the contagious nature of the virus and the potential risks it poses, I deemed it highly inappropriate to fulfill my obligation to the family while knowingly being unwell. I want to emphasize my passion for childcare and my commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for the families I work with. It is with a heavy heart that I find myself in this situation, as I take great pride in the trust and confidence families place in me when caring for their children. I kindly request your understanding and consideration in this matter. I assure you that I am eager to resume my responsibilities as a caregiver as soon as my health permits. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to a favorable resolution. Sincerely, A’maya Harrod

Unreliable and non-inclusive

Both SitterTree and the sitters can be extremely unreliable. I’ve used this company for ten years, and as they’ve grown, the quality has suffered immensely. If you’re a married couple needing a date night sitter, this will probably be fine. When the sitter cancels last minute, you just cancel your date. But if you’re a single mom who needs childcare for work, and your sitter cancels last minute, you don’t get to go to work or buy groceries. Sitters cancel in a majority of cases. And SitterTree might just show you an error rather than notifying you that you've been canceled on.

Of course this all assumes you can get a sitter in the first place. With the new the choose-your-rate feature, this platform favors dual-income households who can pay more.

Great Opportunity but Needs app updates

I love this company and have loved working through this app but there are some app changes that are needed to make it more user friendly.
- The messaging feature is a bit behind so you don’t get updates about messages from families that quickly. A lot of parents don’t receive notifications and can not respond to you as quickly , which is what you’d hope when watching kids
- Secondly, since the most recent update jobs are not showing up in chronological order, it makes it harder to find for jobs. It would be really beneficial if the sitter could search by date or have the jobs sectioned off by “churches, families and favorites” rather then sifting through postings that are out of order to find a job.
Either than that the jobs itself have been really pleasant weather working in daycares or in home. If you ever have a question about payment staff is super responsive and you never feel alone!

Male Sitters

I love the convenience of SitterTree and the amount of jobs available. I just wish more families were open to Male Sitters. I have booked a few jobs since signing up with this app. Considering all my experience with kids and being a Dad I feel I would have booked more if the families didn’t frown upon Males as sitters. I love the families I have come in contact with. I always get a great review and the kids love me. I am hopeful in time people won’t see gender instead they will see just a caring Human being that wants to help with the childcare needs!!

App definitely needs work

I loved using SitterTree but since the update not so much. It started right after the update my app wouldn’t open for me for weeks. I deleted SitterTree and then reinstalled it. Finally got in to see a bunch of things change. For starters the jobs are no longer listed in date order which I find very confusing and inconvenient. Then any time I put in a filter it resets after I view a job so I have to keep resetting the filter, it’s very annoying and aggravating. Please make these changes to SitterTree so it is more enjoyable again. Thank you.

Review!

I love sitting and have always loved it as a child! This is an awesome opportunity to make money, and to bond with families and children of all races, ages and cultures! SitterTree itself is excellent a safe and effective way to make money and expand your resume! I recommend sister tree 4 out of 5! The only thing I think can improve is the referral fee it is extremely too high 11% is a lot to take from every shift every time you work even if the shift cancels and only pay a small cancel fee you still pay a fee from that! Honestly, it’s kind of a disappointment but you have no other choice. Just wish it was alot lower than that. That’s a huge chunk. Anyway, if your thinking about it I say go for it! It is overall a great opportunity!

Overall good with room for improvement

The sitters have all mostly been good. I think improvements could be made in the rating system (way to give quarter or half stars in SitterTree ), the notification system (says I have a message but the job ended so I can’t read it to get rid of the notification), and SitterTree giving me a payment method error frequently.

Great sitter support!

I have been using sitter tree for the past 3 years and would say I love it! I would say there is a couple difficulties, in the beginning it was hard to get jobs due to the lack of history on the account but after a couple jobs you are considered “ in” but I would say once I started doing church gigs it has been really hard to do regular babysitting jobs as I’m stuck in that certain “niche”. I also found that SitterTree freezes up a lot but if you just momentarily and download SitterTree and then re-download it it seems to work fine. But one thing I greatly appreciate is a personal support that you get as a babysitter, the ladies that I have been in contact with constantly have been there for questions, referrals, and suggestions on how to make my application better! It would like to say one of the best things about SitterTree is the minimum pay of $20 per hour as a lot of the times I have to drive around 40 minutes to get to the locations so it makes my expenses worth the job; along with the absolute pleasure and happiness that I get for being able to look after and being interested in peoples children/babies!

Overall, amazing app!

this app is a great app and I’ve gotten some pretty good and consistent jobs. The people I’ve worked with are great and the pay is pretty decent. I love that I get to choose which jobs I want to apply for as well. I also love the this app support. They get back to me super quickly:) My only suggestion would be an interview portion before getting booked with a family. Sometimes families want to meet/talk with a sitter before choosing to book—especially for the longterm commitments. If this app had an option to message families beforehand or set up an interview without accumulating a fee, I would be giving it 5 stars.

Trustworthy & Quality Sitters!

We are so thankful for the people at this app. We have only had good experiences. We’ve been using SitterTree for 3 years for our son and daughter. They are currently 3 and 1, but we’ve used these sitters for them as newborns as well. My general “strategy” for picking a sitter is to select someone who’s older and/or mentions working with children in Sunday School of VBS. Our church uses this app sometimes as well.

I like how I can list a time/date we need a sitter and then 5-10 sitters usually apply for the job and I can select who fits our family best. I can also favorite sitters we like and message them to have them back again. You can also read the reviews for the sitters applying to see what other families say about them. I look for wording like “we will definitely have her back” or “she brought her own crafts/activities/games” or “she cleaned our house!” Anything that shows they go above and beyond.

It’s rare but when SitterTree is finicky, it helps to restart your phone.

Happy this app-ing!! :)

amazing sitter app

this app has been an incredible platform for finding sitter jobs! SitterTree is so easy to navigate, and I love how I can quickly browse through local job postings that fit my schedule and experience. The communication with the organization is straightforward, and I feel confident knowing that SitterTree provides a secure and reliable way to connect with people who truly need help. It's also great that this app gives sitters the opportunity to build a strong profile and get reviews, which helps me stand out to potential families. I’ve had great experiences with the families I’ve worked with, and I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to find sitting jobs!

The Best!!!

I am so so grateful that a friend recommended this nanny service to me many years ago! I have used this company for over five years now and the quality of nannies/babysitters is unmatched!!! I also love the way they set up their app/services/bookings. You can clearly see the candidates who apply, their bio, their ratings from other families who have used their services before. Also, in the rare case when I’ve had a nanny have to cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time the service does an amazing job getting someone to replace them. I just can’t say enough great things about the service and as a single full-time working mom, I just don’t know how I would’ve navigated without this app!

I enjoy SitterTree!

I have worked as a Sitter through SitterTree for almost a year, and I am so incredibly thankful for it! It’s been such a great way to meet families, make connections, and earn some extra money!

For anyone looking to work as a sitter, beware of the 11% service fee taken from your pay. So if a job says it’s $17/hr, with the service fee it’s really around $15/hr (unless it’s a “no fee” job) BUT if you are incredible at your job, chances are the family may tip you enough to make up for the service fee!

Great App & Source for Parents

My husband and I have used this app for a couple years. It’s been our only source for finding babysitters for our two kids. We don’t have family nearby and so it’s been a huge help when we needed a sitter in last minute situations.

I love seeing the sitter profiles and learning more about their experience, qualifications, and reading reviews from other parents. Payment is also easy over SitterTree and you’re able to “favorite” sitters. We’ve used many of the same sitters that our kids have grown more comfortable with over time. this app vets wonderful sitters! Every sitter we’ve used has been reliable, kind, responsible, and highly qualified. I recommend it to all my local mom friends.

Takes a while to start booking jobs, but worth it once you get settled!

I will say at the beginning it took me a couple months to get any jobs (fair, because I didn’t have any reviews and parents obviously want to know you’re trustworthy), but once I got a few under my belt, it was much easier to start booking more. Between families, churches, and schools, so far everyone has been kind and respectful (and fun!) and I’m really thankful to have this app as a resource!

A great way to make some extra money.

I have been using the this app app for 1 year and I love it. There are so many families and centers to work for and I have had nothing but positive experiences. The support team members are always quick and professional when answering questions. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for care for their children or looking to make some additional money through care services.

Great resource

SitterTree is a wonderful way for me to book childcare while I’m on the go. It quickly provides a way to allow sitters to apply and for me to select a sitter. I love that it keeps track of our favorites and most used sitters as well. It also has a chat feature so I can communicate with our sitter before and during the job. I’ve been a customer for many years and this tool is so useful. Great work Sitter Tree!

So much easier than searching for sitters myself

I’ve had so much trouble in the past finding sitters in my community who are available when I need them but also competent enough to handle things like messy diaper changes. this app was recommended by a friend who’s had the same problem and it has been a GAME CHANGER. It’s so easy to post a job and learn about those who have applied. And I have peace of mind knowing that anyone new to us has been thoroughly background checked and vetted.

One thing I didn’t love at first but have changed my mind about is the 3 hour minimum booking. Most of the time I only need someone for 1.5-2 hours tops and I was initially annoyed at having to pay for more than I needed. BUT, it’s actually been great because that little bit of extra time allows me to run errands so much more efficiently (and peacefully, tbh) without little ones in tow. It’s my “me time” and I love it. Plus, thinking about someone other than myself 😉, it’s good that sitters can be well compensated for their work and travel.

I’ve only booked a sitter 3 times so far and have already found a favorite who tends to be available when I need her on weekday mornings.

So grateful that I found this app and I will recommend it to everyone I know.

My #1 Trusted Sitter Service

As a mom of four I need reliable, trustworthy and diligent sitters. this app delivers that and more. I know I can trust anyone they send to my home to be responsible, uphold their company’s integrity and ensure the wellbeing of my home and children. I have used this service for for a long time and never have they disappointed me. Our children are loved, educated and well taken care of in our absence. SitterTree is easy to use and I love the excitement my children have when I say a sitter is coming. You can’t go wrong with booking this app. My husband and I have kept date nights going because of them.
