FINALLY

I just want to start out by saying I’ve never written a review for any app or any company ever. I have always been the person that taps “remind me later”. My girlfriend and I have been having issues with our mobile phones and WiFi for 3 months. We’ve spent around $300-$400 on 4 mobile security subscriptions and downloaded over a dozen apps ranging from ad blockers, free VPNs, premium VPNs, network scanners, network diagnostics, WiFi scanners, DNS Cloak, etc. We download them and then we never receive a notification or anything. Maybe they were doing their job, maybe they weren’t. My point is I have no idea because I’m don’t speak the “computer language”. Yes, a couple of those apps were super detailed with in depth analysis, but you have to go look for certain things specifically and know what it is you’re looking for. I never once got alerted by any of those apps. I came across Home Guard and saw it had less than 3 stars, but read the description and decided to give it a try. It immediately alerted me that there is an additional router set up in my house. Long story short, one of the other tenants in our home was using their laptop to as a router and running everyone’s devices through it before making it to the service router. How? I have no idea, but we spent a lot of money on worthless apps trying to protect us from things like that or at least tell us it was happening. Avira may not be the most technical app, but it warns you when something isn’t right and simplifies things so you can understand them - for free. If you want an app that is easy to understand, informative, and genuine give Avira a chance. I’ve always wondered which app or product would be the one to get me to break my life long cycle of never writing a review - I honestly can’t wait to try the other Avira apps.
