I can’t even sign up without it taking forever or the screen staying blank. I’m not even on and it doesn’t work right. I like the concept but I know I’m not the only one with these problems. I want to keep it but not if I’m already having trouble signing up. Please fix it. We could have something greater than Facebook if it’s done right.

*Edit: App still takes forever to load. The design needs work, it could look a little more eye appealing too. Also, I don’t mind paying for subscriptions but I’m not paying for something that doesn’t even work properly. You can’t say support black business if you not putting out a good quality product. MelanatedPeople is not good quality yet so don’t expect people to jump at paying for something that they can barely use.*

I am truly disgusted with you guys! First I pay my money to help “us” grow and then my account doesn’t work. Then I send a message to try and rectify the issue and I’m met with a response that was more like a spit in my face! The email I received had absolutely nothing to do with the issue, proving you don’t care about or respect me as a user! I wanted a refund but I already know that won’t happen. So keep the lil faunky $10! Y’all obviously need it more than me. I wish I’d never subscribed to this piece of crap or had 25 of my friends to join either! They all paid and all have some sort of issue. Now everyone is looking to me as if it’s my fault your site is crappy! I so disgusted that this is a black owned company. Shame on you Melanated People!!!

I was excited to download MelanatedPeople and explore the site. I completed the sign up process and received the email stating that I am approved. Used the link that was provided in the email to log in...and couldn’t. I kept receiving error messages and messages that stated that I needed to be approved by an admin to join. If the sign up is this convoluted then I can only imagine what it’s like inside the site. I tried responding to the email but that got kicked back. Tried finding a contact us portion on the site but I could not because I couldn’t sign in.

Deleting MelanatedPeople from my phone within less than 12 hours since trying to sign up. It’s not worth the headache for me.

I was able to sign up and browse around for a bit, which was nice. I decided to download MelanatedPeople on my iPad and sign in but kept being told that the password I just created was wrong. I requested to reset my password and received the email but the link does not allow me to do a reset but instead just log in. I was looking forward to using this networks especially to promote my small business but I guess I will have to hold off until the issue is fixed. I definitely think MelanatedPeople has potential though, so I’ll be back to try again.

I got on MelanatedPeople and thought it would be great for black users to shine but i was easily unimpressed.

MelanatedPeople crashes a lot. I have created two profiles bc the first one was magically deleted due to a server/system update. Since then I have not been on MelanatedPeople much.
I do not like that you start your account with like or 6 people (much like Tom from MySpace). I do not like that it is not easy to search for people; it literally took me days of looking for one friend that i knew was on MelanatedPeople . I do not like that it is just random ppl from all over that I may not have anything in common with other than being black or a woman. The TL reads funny with a ton of repost of the same pictures and videos. I can scroll through 10 posts and see the same pictures of galaxy and stars posted 5-7 times which is super aggy.
I will probably be disabling my account and freeing up the space on my phone.
The emojis to like, love. Etc....are cute tho.

The concept of MelanatedPeople is great but the execution isn’t.

MelanatedPeople is very buggy. It crashes constantly, at least for me. Also, the very first time I tried to sign up, it kept telling me I needed to wait for admin approval. Days went by and no approval happened. I had to email support myself so I could actually get onto MelanatedPeople . I understand that they want this to be a safe space for people of African descent but the sign up process needs work.

I also kept getting emails from them say they were testing MelanatedPeople and they needed everyone to go and post for the test. This is a weird way to get activity going on MelanatedPeople and I wish they would stop sending these emails. I don’t even know how to unsubscribe from them because there’s no unsubscribe link.

I finally deleted my account for good when I logged in and MelanatedPeople kept crashing over and over once again like I stated in the beginning. I do love the diaspora diversity on the platform. There are black people on here from all over the world and that’s really cool, but the platform needs a lot of technical work. Once the bugs are fixed I’ll give it another try. For now I’ll stick to Twitter.

I like MelanatedPeople and the potential it has however I don’t like friends being added for or seeing everyone’s post or stories. I get the point to be and stay connected with each other however if someone wants to post about sex all day good for them, I just don’t care to see it. MelanatedPeople also takes a very long time to load. It actually takes a little too long and I’m thinking it’s probably an overload of information that’s causing it to lag. I will keep it for now mostly because it takes so long to load I can’t even get to my account settings to delete my profile. If the privacy and the speed can be fixed I would definitely love to see MelanatedPeople completely through.

MelanatedPeople was not prepared for an influx of people. They keep asking me to subscribe yet have not given any real reason to subscribe other than it helps them make money. Imagine if everytime someone posted on Facebook or liked a photo or added someone else it posted to your timeline. I can’t even see the people I’ve actually added because the timeline is so flooded with people I haven’t added. There needs to be a way to filter the posts. It’s a good idea. Something for black people. But it could use a lot of work.

First , MelanatedPeople costs a lot. You can do somethings with the free membership but not a lot at all. People are deterred from it because you have to pay and it is nothing like Facebook to be paying for it .

Second, the privacy is horrible . If you are in a group that you want to be in privately. You have absolutely no privacy. If you post to the group it posts on your page and saves pictures to your albums. You have no way of making your profile private . Everyone can see everything from all over.

Third, friends are from all over and not just relevant to your area. People will feel more comfortable being active if that was the case .

Fourth , you don’t have enough media advertising to get people to use your app. Lots of people have no idea this exists

Last, you have to really work on MelanatedPeople. People are expecting a black Facebook from MelanatedPeople. I promise if you give them what they want your app will top face book

MelanatedPeople is great I love it so far and I can only imagine the potential once all the wrinkles are ironed out, i.e., I cannot post pics or statuses, can’t share them & haven’t been able to post stories. I saw you guys were doing some fixes though. Regardless I love the concept & I appreciate its so similar to facebooks layout so it doesn’t take much adaptation. Im tired of getting blocked on Facebook for telling the truth about black injustice ! I hope MelanatedPeople turns out to be a safe space for us.

Edit: app keeps crashing !! Same three stars though I’m loving it

I do like that the set up is pretty much the same as other social media apps. The experience still hasn’t caught me. It seems like it’s missing something. Probably because I don’t have full access. I’m not a paying member. I hear that limits a lot of your experience. Like speeds up your access and you can interact more. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I don’t like being spammed either. Although I DO UNDERSTAND why MelanatedPeople is being managed in the way that it is, I believe it will be something great in the very near future...just not piquing my interest.

Honestly, I want to start off saying thank you for MelanatedPeople and safe space from all of the injustice going on. I just want to point out that I see you all are working and ironing out the creases and can’t wait to see how MelanatedPeople improves in 5 years. The only thing is, I love that I see everyone’s post but, I wish there was an option to switch to see friends only, again it’s a suggestion and I know it’ll take time. Thanks again and good job!

I am proud that MelanatedPeople was created. Yes it did have a few hiccups in the beginning but we all start off that way. Can’t wait to see it flourish. Im just disappointed in people being upset that MelanatedPeople is mostly for black people. That’s why MelanatedPeople is called MELANATED PEOPLE!! Like! Let us have a platform just for us. If y’all want to be united then keep your FB app. Unlike some other people I went to all black schools and Howard university, so I don’t have any FB friends who are of a Caucasian race. Nothing against other races but I am happy that this is for US by US!!!!

I’m always excited when we as a people embark on a new start up. These days only serve to remind us of the absolute control that the West ( capitalistic, Eurocentric ) has over the indigenous people of Afrocentric origin. So a new start up media site by us for us only motivates me.
So far I am pleased with what I see and I only hope that we Melanated people support and back this infant site. It needs our nourishment and guidance. So sign up and get involved and help develope this up and comer. Melanated People rise up and make your voice heard.

When I try to log in it doesn’t load please fix this, MelanatedPeople is going viral on social media and you’ll have lots of supporters soon. 2 stars 5 when I can log in

*update* I’ve made my profile loving it so far 3 stars. Drop thoughts about anything else and work on the connection issues first I can’t wait to see the difference it makes🤗

*update* everything’s looking good so far next is the format issue all pic and videos on the timeline are looking landscape formatish. Also I would love being able to search and add people from my city as friends. 4 stars.

I started to tell my fb friends about MelanatedPeople and all they can say is “I was told it cost” and I’m trying to let them know what the fee is for and MelanatedPeople is free but sometimes we can be so closed minded and whatever James told us we going run with it 🤦🏽‍♂️ we gotta stop believing what one person tells us and actually go read things for ourselves!!

I’m like y’all keep logging in to fb making the man richer and all the while not getting any type of info about our own people. Have you noticed that fb will dumb down your feed, all that while invading your privacy. Keep thinking they respect your privacy I see crazy stuff fb does even when I block things in my settings they still have access just to advertise and keep earning money off us!

Join up and if you can support financially do so, but if you can’t just join and add to the family you may learn something from a brother or a sister here that you wouldn’t get on Facebook or what I like to can it FB(I) book because they all up in ya data and location! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Take the time and look in your settings and privacy settings in Facebook and you will see what they have access to when you are logged in and logged off of Facebook. 🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️

I have been an active member on MPS for a little over 2 yrs. Meeting up with people from the site and creating wonderful family-like bonds in real life.

I love MelanatedPeople because once I got on it I felt like I was home. To see a lot of my ppl on MelanatedPeople is amazing to me.. I can’t give MelanatedPeople none other then 5 stars because it’s a growing app and yess I’m the being it’s gone have its lil problems but I’m willing to support my ppl.. I like how MelanatedPeople looks just like Facebook. I like how everyone talks to everyone not just the ppl their friends with.. I can post the truth and not be put in Facebook jail. It’s a lot of love on MelanatedPeople and I just hope it stays that way🥰✊🏾🙏🏾

I believe that the sudden up-surge in traffic has caused the sire to slow down. I am all for this concept and i am willing to wait. Please strengthen your server to handle the load, because I promise, once this is running smoothly, I am telling EVERYONE I know to get on board. This is truly our time so let’s be great. So I was stuck at the signing up stage with the circle spinning. I pressed the back arrow and when I went back, I clicked on the “terms” button and scrolled thru the terms. Then I was able to sign up immediately and BOOM I now have a profile. Try it guys!!!

I filled out the info to sign up and it just stays stuck in processing after I press sign up.... looks like it may have taken the info but does the same thing upon trying to login as regular member as well. Is there anything I can do my phone doesn’t gave any issues and is working for all other apps including fb. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: fixed it! I’m in! Time to check this thing out! I know there will be improvements to be made so I won’t take away stars and instead will offer any suggestions I see may make the new site better! See you guys in the next update!

MelanatedPeople opens but is frozen and can’t post anything. This is a regular occurrence. I’m hoping the next update fixes this problem.

Mine has been spinning for 1/2 hour and won’t finish my registration. I’ve tried this twice and I get to a certain point and it just spins. Can’t even contact support to help.

Great app! We need a huge update focused on bug fixes and connection fixes! The community is growing fast and could quickly become a rival to the Top 3 if we get this working more smoothly while people are joining so we can keep everyone invested in it!

I like the intention of MelanatedPeople. However there’s one small problem that can be fixed. There is something for screen reader users like VoiceOver. I’m a VO user and some of the buttons aren’t labeled. Otherwise I enjoy this space.

Yess! Finally an app for Us. I deleted my FB & IG when I found out about MelanatedPeople. I’m spreading the word. We get more folks on MelanatedPeople then the sponsors will follow. Then game apps can be attached to MelanatedPeople and so much more. I don’t even mind the occasional crashing. It can only get better.
