Whoever wins this game does not necessarily have to win real money games.

Additionally, your success in this game does not guarantee success in a comparable real-money casino game.

The Rummy rules are very similar to the rules of all Rummy variants.

Winning any valuable items or money is not possible while playing this game.

There is also no opportunity to win real money or prizes.

Games rigged

I’ve read the other reviews and the responses from the game..skill has nothing to do w it I’m a very skilled player and still lose game after game the way cards are delt is all how the game is programed. 8 jokers in the deck an the opponent is delt four in a hand and you delt four sets of doubles in one hand or an almost winning hand needing one card and still lose the fact you can win or lose and your never first in a new game or jokers flipped on the first card for the other players only! That’s the games programming not the others players skill level no player idc how skilled gets a hand and before you even gets a turn they go out the prize money is the same I lose w the winner getting 163 and lose 1.2 mil but Winn w 200 and only get 600k the game is programmed against you it decides if your gonna win that day or lose so the ppl running the game can claim it’s “ skill” all they want there lying it’s the way they programmed the game not skill besides the fact this isn’t really true rummy you have to put down your cards in rummy you can’t hold them in your hand for extra points till you go out your allowed to play off the other persons hand or else it’s just straight gin creators don’t care as long as suckers keep giving them money they won’t change a thing if they wanted fair play the prices for coin pkgs wouldn’t be so expensive even the “deals” are over 30$ creators should overhaul the game but they wont

Fun game but some major drawbacks

The game is quick, fun, and an easy to use app. However…I have been playing gin rummy (with real cards) weekly for a couple of decades. I have never seen deals like this. At the lower cost tables you top out pretty quickly and can’t get packs of cards, so if you care about set collection you have to bet more. Which would be fine, except once you get to then or expensive tables the game loses all reality. Opponents get gin with one card, and the big point spread guarantees you will be losing more than the table bet because of the multiplier. In 20 years of weekly games, the times someone was dealt gin, basically are less than it happens in 20 games of GinRummyStars. Add in the glitches, Wi-Fi loss even though I am streaming on my computer while playing and it connects fine, going to bed with tens of thousands of coins and waking up with only 2000, level 57 after 500+ games and still only have two decks to choose from, hundreds of duplicate reward cards but very few full sets….It’s designed to get you hooked and force you to spend money. Well, no thank you. If the games were fair I wouldn’t mind, but if I wanted to throw my money away on a rigged game I would go to Vegas.

DONT PLAY designed to take your money

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!!This is just another game thats sole purpose is to take your money. If you deposit cash, sure they will let you win for a while play actual real players and its fun. But after a while they’ll start putting you in matches with their computer players where they destroy you every game on the first draw and make sure they win the biggest point spread possible(you wont even stand a chance). You’ll just lose until your forced to make another purchase because its one of those games that you have to either wait 24hours for a daily bonus or pay for more coins (thats how they get you) because there is no free play! Dont let yourself be fooled Its all just a simple algorithm i child could have figure out designed to use competitive nature to empty your wallet. If your dumb enough to play this game regardless just pay attention to your deposit vs win/lose ratio and youll start to notice a pretty obvious pattern. There are alot of these types of games and the all claim to be regulated by some gaming board that make them display the odds of winning but this game definitely isn’t because they mix computer players and actual people players so they dont have to be regulated by those guidelines. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!

Hate that I love this game

Love the graphics and that there are always opponents. I get that they are trying to make money and I don’t want to spend any, but it stinks that as you level up, you basically can’t play lower ante hands. No card packs if you do and getting points for quests becomes virtually impossible. I finished the last album and ended up with over $1M. But then they jacked up all the tables, so about the lowest table I can play to earn packs or quest points is $10K x 4. I am a decent player and level 61, but when I have opponents gin and knock after 3-4 cards many times in just a few hands, so losing $20K to $40K a game I’ve lost $600K. New album, but after 25 games, I’ve only collected 7 packs. So, will just try not to lose all my hands and hopefully I can finish some books and get more coins. If not, I’ll probably just find another game. I’ve already bought coins a couple times when I could play lower ante hand, at this rate I’d have to spend $30 or more just to get enough coins in case I lost 3-4 hands. Love the game, just wish they didn’t penalize you for getting to higher levels.

Best card game around

I guess I am hooked, big time. Always enjoyed gin rummy but no one to play with. Now, stuck at home, going out of my mind. Dare I say it? Thank you Covid! Aw, that’s mean. But I didn’t cause it! Better say, thank you Rummy Stars Gin. I’m the Flamingo Kid! Remember that old Matt Dillon flick? How about the opening of Goldfinger? Where Gert Frobe is getting hints from binoculars-wielding Shirley Eaton looking at his opponent’s cards? Or continuing going backward in time: the last line of The Apartment, Shirley MacLaine answering Jack Lemmon who said that he loves her: “Shut up and deal”? Lastly, Judy Holliday frustrating Broderick Crawford in “Born Yesterday” with her endless rearrangement of her cards until finally declaring “Gin!”?

I am curious. How did I get my avatar? Can I change it? Reading my comments above, you know I’m an old fart and my avatar is young and sexy. I should quit while I’m ahead. Which is why I stay away from poker. 🤣

Disappointed

Not only am I giving this game a 2 star rating I am going to explain why.

I have bought coins with my real money and either then game freezes and charges me double after it says purchase did not go through, there are days I get an Apple receipt saying thanks for your purchase of $30 or more and I didn’t play in days and it already took it out of my bank account on the day I actually did purchase. When it freezes I lose my coins. That’s my actual money I’m spending to play a nice game of cards and it just vanishes. Than let’s talk about your support team…

USELESS!!!!!! I have emailed back and forth with them over these issues and do you know the responses I am given? “ I’m sorry but there is no issues on our end” AND THATS IT! They do a further investigation and email back the same response. And to top it off they do not even offer you complimentary coins for the ones you’ve lost!!! I may as well take my money and put it threw a shredder. At least I could use that for kindling which would give me something back!

The dark and light side of addiction

Sadly the creators have put very loud ads between games. I really don’t use it much any more. This is a fun card game tho. It is designed to tempt you to play higher stakes and for longer time periods. There is a lot going on. I have played GinRummyStars game for a couple of years. I am coming to realize that I don’t need all the glitz and gamble. I just want to play this Hollywood style of gin rummy. So I am now playing the 250 pot. There is an option for 10, 30 or 50 point games. In this low stakes game one is not penalized for big losses so saving face-cards is not heavily penalized. All the other side competitions to encourage you to gamble higher point hands to earn albums or rankings really don’t amount to much at the end of the day. But I’m grateful that I got to play cards during the COVID times. I have felt the addictive edge of the higher point games and was able to resist it. I don’t recommend this game to friends because I think it is designed to be addictive and costly.

Love this game

I am usually not a fan of playing with real people. Most people are great but you get some that are rude, poor sports, or rattle on constantly through the game. I like this game because those things can’t happen. I like that it’s not open chat. That eliminates all the above issues. I would like to see the games go a little longer, or have the option for a game to maybe 100. It’s also nice to be able to fit in a quick game at work on breaks. I would also like to be able to select a name. Mine shows my real name and it would be nice to have the option to change it. I love the Gin only games, can you make that an option for all levels? Also Oklahoma Gin would be fun to add, I love that variation but it’s hard to find. Thank you for having this game 👍👍👍👍

Unfair Game

The game is a good game if you are playing with a real person using real cards. But when playing it in the phone it feels like the game is rigged. I always loose 8 out of 10 times. The initial distribution of the cards to each player is not fair. I always get the bad combination of card while my opponent already seems to have most of their melds ready and all they need is one or two cards to knock or gin. I even feel that the opponent is actually a computer rather than a person. I lost all my coins playing this rigged game. I bought some lost it again and now I am left with none. So I stopped playing. Those who are addicted to this game will end up buying more coins losing all of it and then buying again. This is how the developer makes money. There were instances when, after the initial distribution, I dropped my first card and drew a new card from the deck. Then my opponent picks up that card that I just discarded and he/she wins. All they needed was just that one card. This never happened when I played with real people. It’s like the card wasn’t shuffled properly.

So unrealistic!!!

This game seems rigged. I have been playing for a few days. I win so easily betting the lowest amount. It’s like I’m playing against a kid that does not know what they’re doing. I built up about 7,200 coins winning almost 40 times and losing maybe 8. I started betting more. It’s almost impossible to win. Every time I discard it is something my opponent needs. They knock and get gin so fast. I’ll play 10 times and win maybe twice. I said screw it and bet 5000. You have to get to 30. My opponent was able to knock twice in a row so fast. Luckily one time I undercut him, but the third round he got gin even faster. I didn’t even have a chance. If you download, stay on the lower bets. Don’t waste your time betting bigger. You will 100% get cheated. You might get lucky and win a few times, but you’re definitely going to lose. They want you frustrated so you'll buy more coins. Not gonna happen with me. I deleted it. Most games like this are obviously rigged.

The best by far

I have pretty much tried every gin rummy game in GinRummyStars Store and this is by far, bar none, thee best of them. The UI is crisp and, more importantly, intuitive. Unless you’re just learning gin rummy, there’s no need for any tutorial. Press play and go! I wholeheartedly disagree with those that say the deals are fixed, unfair, dubious, etal. I’m 77 years old and have been playing gin rummy for 70 years. A lot of that playing was for money where the game is taken dead seriously. The hands that this game deals are as fair and random as any real game I’ve played in all those years. It’s easy to spot the opposite and there’s not a single blip on the radar screen here. If you enjoy (love) playing gin rummy, this is the one and only app you should be using!!

Best Game

It’s fair and not too personal. They DON’T give all new players the best hand BS! It never gets boring or predictable. I have never played the same player twice. I love that your opponent can not type directly to you. No creeps sending you messages. More good things are players have plenty of time to pick cards. You never play against the same player. I have not run out of money yet. They are constantly offering u ways to make more without giving up an hour to watch videos. Lastly I never played before GinRummyStars. I learned in about 5 hands. Ok I said way to much about an app lol lol

Great game but….

A flaw in GinRummyStars in that if you don’t match up your 3 cards in the right numerical order it won’t show as a matched set. So your King, Jack, Queen has to be manually set as King, Queens, Jack to have it recognized and box highlighted. The other issue is the deadwood pile before you knock. If you have three of a kind or a run, but it’s not linked up in order and you knock, thinking they will auto sync, they don’t. They are counted against you. Odd when the program automatically sorts them in numerical order that it wouldn’t link them automatically. If these two things were worked out I’d say it’s a great addictive game. The ability to change your avatars look, gender and name is great fun. A bonus to the avatar selection would be an elderly man and woman. Great overall game.

Is game rigged for players to lose earned coins quickly???

This could be a great Gin Rummy game, but there are too many adds and it can get frustrating when all of your earned coins are lost too quickly. Once you get a decent amount of coins where you should be able to play for a while without having to wait on adds to watch to get coins, you play just a couple of games and lose all of your coins due to multiplier. It has happened enough times to think the game is rigged to try to get players to buy coins. I would be really mad if I spent real money to get coins. If I can find a fairer Rummy game that plays as smoothly as this one, I will delete Rummy Stars.
The developers need to cut down on adds and let players use the coins they earn instead of rigging the game to make them lose them so quickly.

Rigged Robbery

This game was so much fun for a few days, but suddenly becomes more expensive than if you were gambling with real money. Different options and coin bonuses appear at different prices depending on your level and the way they mislead you with the “Up to 12x” messaging on the special games should be illegal. I spent $60 after purchasing some “Sale” coin pack, then stupidly buying the lottery bonus, giving me over 4 million coins. A few 100k games later and within an hour I had zero.

On top of that, I don’t believe for a second this game is randomized. I kept noticing that I was almost never getting a single joker card per game in the Joker Rooms, usually giving my opponent two Jokers. I counted and I had played 9 games in a row where my opponent got both Jokers and had Gin with over 20 cards left in the deck. Even if I was just the most unlucky person in the world, that seems sketchy. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

BEWARE...

Do not waste your time. I repeat beware of GinRummyStars!! This game is a complete set up with bots and APK cheats. It’s too bad because it could be a top app if the owners were honest. You will spend money and your IP will then be targeted to lose no matter your game skill level putting you in a vicious cycle to spend more money if you want to play. If you do buy coins or win any substantial amount in the daily contests, the bot players will attack every game you play not giving you a real opponent until your coins are below 5,000. They will then get gin or knock (always with the card you’ve waited to get) usually within 0-3 cards. Or if you outsmart the bot....the game will glitch or they knock with a hand of cards right before you get give and their hands sometimes will include many cards that were in the discard pile. I’ve intentionally deleted specific cards to verify this. Please read all of the forums and comments from other players before you get caught in this scam!

Something has changed. It’s no longer enjoyable

I don't know what has changed in this game but it's no longer enjoyable. There was a time I’d be able to win and lose at a fair win loss ratio. Now I lose 95% of the time! Tell me how it's possible to play several opponents in a row and they win a GIN or get a KNOCK within the first card draw? Not just once, but several opponents in a row! How is that possible? It isn’t and something has changed. If you want players to stay on as loyal subscribers to your app then you need to make this a fair play game and go back to the way it was before because it was fun. I spent hours competing! Winning & losing but it was enjoyable. Now it's stressful, it makes me angry and I hate it. You've ruined a really good app and ticked off a lot of loyal players. The push to buy buy buy has gotten ridiculous. If i want to support an app I’ll buy in but not like this. Forced losses, loses players.

Payouts Unfortunate

Love this game and I have been playing it for a while now. It’s well developed and has a lot of different options for players, beginners to advanced.

My one complaint for this game is the payouts. If you are playing a 1,000 credit game and lose on the 2x multiplier, you’ll lose 2,000. Makes sense. However, if you win a 1,000 credit game and it does not fully cover the 2x bonus, you’ll be paid a proration of the 2x balance, or 1,600 credits for example. Why is is that you’re punished throughly for a loss, but only a partial win? It’s very frustrating at the higher credit games where you’ll win a couple matches, then can lose it all almost instantaneously. I really wish the developers would fix this.

Torn

I really love this game. There are issues with it though. For instance, IHave 500 coins or even 1000 coins, every single time I go into a game for 250 coins I go to play another game and it says I don’t have enough coins it takes all of my coins. Also, Every time I watch a video it does not give me the coins for watching said video. Finally, It does not pay me the right amount of coins when I win. Those are the only problems that I have they don’t.And they are pretty important problems. I really wish you would fix this because this is not a free gameplay. If it doesn’t get fixed soon I’m just gonna have to take it down and it’s actually my favorite GEN game ever but I am not gonna play it like that that’s just wrong and I’m definitely not gonna spend one penny.

Like the game but too high of bets freezes you out of every promo

I enjoyed playing this and the competitions at first, the higher I got the more the bets increased and with one loss at 16x - your coins are wiped back to zero. But if you don’t play these tables…you can’t participate in competitions to win anything this are forced to spend money. I don’t mind doing so on games as it’s my relaxation and I enjoy it but once it became clear that bets would never decrease, it not only lost it’s fun but desire to chase any competition in the game.

I would say that by far, the game play is superior to other gin games but the forced increased bets makes me unwilling to play. I probably will not after this set of coins run out simply due to the continuing increased bets and force into purchase. Wish I could say differently.

Coins just disappeared!

It’s a shame, I really liked this game. Logged in this morning and had 7200 coins. I played three 1000-coin games and lost. So by the math, I should have 4200. I took a short break and was planning on going down to the 500 coin games, but suddenly I’m at zero! No way am I spending money on a game that not only has that bug, but I see no way to put in a support ticket. Maybe this review will reach someone. I’ll change it, if this can be fixed. Otherwise, I’m uninstalling.

Update: I contacted them through email. I had figured out where my coins went, but found it very unfair. They answered with more explanation and I’d like to pass that on. The star multiplier at the bottom of each game comes out of the LOSER’S bank. They don’t go beyond zero, but it doesn’t matter to me. I’m not playing a game that has that kind of trick up its sleeve. Make the multipliers more clear to the players, if you want more of those players. Hidden stuff designed to make us spend real money means I automatically WON’T spend it on this game, and I’m not coming back every 4 hours to play a single hand. Smh

amazing games

update since this initial post. 100 games played lost 97 with the opponent going gin in
96 of them and the amazing thing is that in 77 of them they went gin in their first term in the other 20 i knocked 12 times with one point and they undercut me with a 1 or 0 8 times i tape my games to gain the facts. so i play daily never pay a dime to this rigged app and only play the lowest table. in 300 games a second game was asked for and accepted i won ZERO so never accept to play again its their rigged bots you play
wow the games is great to bad it’s rigged for you to lose and have to pay. in 100 games i knocked with one point i lost 91 of them being undercut by the opponent in 100 games the opponent knocked or got gin on the first roll 23 times of the other 77 they knocked or got gin on the second roll 54 times of those 100 games i won 3. in 100 games that went to the third round the opponent won 97 of them with 63 going out with a gin. in 250 games against an opponent with the name guest in it i lost 221 of them with a gin loss within two turns from the opponent. i play because another app gives me points for playing so i can get cash playing it otherwise it would be deleted. there just after your money and info to sell

Can be fun, but player beware

There is a lot of reviews saying the same thing. Something must be true. My perception given how many games I lose, it is certainly a fixed game with poor unrealistic randomization of dealt cards. This is a fun game to play however it's program is blatant and obvious. It's main design is to get you to buy their coins (that's business) you will lose those coins you buy very fast. I purposely do not buy coins any longer because of how fixed this game (my perception) is. You win a bunch then programmed for you to lose to replenish. the program needs to be adjusted. I will not be buying coins and haven't done so in some time and I haven't gotten past 600 coins of the free coins and I end up losing everything as fast as it is given. Pretty close to not playing anymore because of the poor feeling I get for the money i am losing. Clearly many many other feedback given with same info above. I am uninstalling and giving my money to my kids :)

Game itself is fun, but the backend systems is a mess

Just like so many other card/gambling games, your first matches are going great. You lose a couple fairly, but you’re getting consistent wins. Then once your minimum pay-in for your goals go to at least 500 coins, get ready to whip out your wallet if you want to continue playing. This game is pure luck, not skill. The times I’ve won are the first cards I get, which defeats the purpose of the game. They’re very scummy when it comes to IAP as well; I tried inviting my friend so I could get 10K coins - they got their 1K, but I never got the 10K. The next day? It decreased to 5K and still didn’t get it. Trying to redeem the daily link from the social media also likes to decide if it will work or not. Oh, but the constant pop-ups during GinRummyStars launch will always be there! You can see where their attention seemingly is solely on.
