These reviews are either all bs bots, or just extraordinarily lucky. Got a light strip for my birthday and began to set it up as a backlight for my tv. I’m pretty tech savvy so this seemed easy enough. WRONG. You would think the lights would AT MOST require a blue tooth connection to your phone- so okay, turn on Bluetooth and just pair to the lights. NOPE. You have to first download GHomeworkwithGosund and make an account, configure your WiFi to their specified 2.4, then enter your WiFi password BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN ATTEMPT TO SCAN FOR THE STUPID LIGHTS. This whole process was designed by a moron I swear to god. And even when you get to this point, you (or at least I) can’t even connect to the lights!!!!! Absolutely outrageous. Never buying one of these products again, and will tell anyone and everyone to avoid making the same mistake. HORRIFYINGLY BAD INSTALLATION. As in, someone should be fired immediately. A 12 year old could have designed a better set up process. Cannot underline my disgust enough.

I bought a Gosund product and was fine with it for a while until I started deciding I wanted to use it daily. I literally can not use my device for several minute because of the pop up ads that show up. I have done every step and enabled/disabled every settings as told and 6 months later I still am getting these pop up ads plus they ignore my feedback. I genuinely wish I could return the product but when I initially bought it I was using it as basically a timer so I didn’t notice until it was too late to return. Now I tried to use it as a switch and honestly it would be faster and easier than having to deal with the ads to just get up and use a real switch or power button. App works to some extent but the company and customer service are horrible in my opinion. Use a different smart device/app pairing and save yourself the time.

Useless!! Absolutely useless!! Why am I fighting with yet another “smart” app that is ridiculously trying to make it impossible to lync with me Alexa home. I create an account when I download GHomeworkwithGosund and then I go to Alexa to sync and of course it says I have log into my Gosund account to continue. First ten times I try it just keeps opening my gosund app and then nothing. I tried closing both apps and starting from Alexa, but nothing worked. Until I deleted the gosund app and then seemingly tada and it takes me to a gosund login screen. Oh wait... it wants me to login with my phone number which was never asked for by gosund and seemingly there is nowhere in the gosund app to link your phone number to your account. This makes perfect since... gosund uses your email address to create an account and then tells alexa to log you in with a phone number. Yeah this is a seamless solution to my home automation.😤😔☹️

I have Gosund smart switches, smart plugs, and smart power strips all throughout my house; about 20, in total. They all worked great for several years, as did GHomeworkwithGosund that controlled them. They still work with Alexa and I can manually turn them on or off with Alexa or GHomeworkwithGosund . Since the last couple of software updates, my schedules and routines still appear in GHomeworkwithGosund but they no longer initiate. Also, when I am away GHomeworkwithGosund does not accurately show me what lights and switches are on or off, nor does it allow me to reliably control them remotely.
I would have give. GHomeworkwithGosund and these products six stars, if that had been possible, when everything worked. I adopted the Gosund products early on, when it wasn’t clear which products would endure. I bought Gosund because they didn’t require a HUB and their products and app were advanced at the time.
If you only want to use GHomeworkwithGosund and their products while you are at home, and control the switches through your HUB, their products might appeal to you, however, if you plan to control your lights remotely or want them to turn on or off on a schedule, this might not be your best choice.
Until such time, when they update GHomeworkwithGosund to hopefully bring back all of its functionality, I cannot recommend it.

I loved GHomeworkwithGosund and the fact that I was able to turn my lights on and off with my phone. I enjoy a lot of features and still to this day use GHomeworkwithGosund. The last update came with Ads… why?!?! Now when I try to turn my lights on or off, I have to exit out of Ads!! That’s insane! I just want to turn on or off my lights! The number of times I accidentally clicked a pop up Ad while trying to turn off my lights to go to sleep is ridiculous. If I didn’t spend so much on all my lights, I would get rid of it, but now I’m stuck. Buyer beware. Maybe it won’t bother other people as much, but it really irks me when I’m just trying to go to bed and I get pop up Ads just to turn off my freaking lights.

The hardware & software work pretty well. I like that there is an alternative pairing technology in case your wifi switches bandwidth intermittently like mine (between 5 Ghz & 2.4 Ghz).

What really upsets me and ruins the entire user experience and almost the whole point of “smart” technologies - convenience - are the ads inside GHomeworkwithGosund . I have already purchased several products from you Gosund. I have run out of electronics to plug in to them. PLEASE stop putting pop up ads in GHomeworkwithGosund . It completely ruins the user experience. I was going to recommend Gosund to family + friends, but due to the infuriating in-app pop-ups, I will NEVER recommend Gosund to anyone as I know there are alternatives that work about as well and don’t use pop ups in their app.

Since the update a few weeks ago, I have to manually refresh the screen where all my smart plugs are to see if they’re on or off. GHomeworkwithGosund doesn’t seem to automatically sync to the plugs anymore, particularly if I have Google Assistant turn them on or off via voice command.

It is extremely annoying that pop up ads come up every time I open GHomeworkwithGosund . I just want to turn my lights on or off and I’ve already bought your product, so the pop up ads are particularly irritating. Ditch the constant pop ups, please, so GHomeworkwithGosund can function smoothly again.

Other than those two gripes about the latest update, the products themselves (or at least the smart plugs) and GHomeworkwithGosund work well.

I’ve had 2 smart plugs and 4 of the smart colored bulbs for awhile now everything has always worked really well and I’ve liked it.

However, with the most recent update GHomeworkwithGosund doesn’t work well. My two main problems, the status of the plugs/ bulbs is often wrong. They will say on when they are off and off when they are on. The other issue is the groups keep resetting. I have two bulbs in my living room and two in my bedroom. They are grouped to each room but every time GHomeworkwithGosund closes it says the groups aren’t set anymore. When you click the group to manage it, it shows the two correct bulbs and you have to re-save it. Over and over again have I had to do this.

For Christmas I got 4 smart plugs which required me to download GHomeworkwithGosund , no problem. Next step is the 2.4 vs 5 ghz WiFi. Took me about 30 minutes, but I was able to separate my WiFi into that. Next was linking with Alexa. To link with Alexa’s skills, Alexa’s app wanted a phone number to log into Gosund, which I never provided to Gosund. On a whim I entered my email (into the phone number part, because it doesn’t give you an option to enter an email so I did to just see what happens) and password I created and it worked perfectly fine. The actual device works great, but the instructions are pretty much trash once it gets to linking your smart device to Alexa.

Once you manage to get your app to find your switches, they work great. Setting a routine with Alexa to turn the lights on and off, works great and is pretty darn easy. BUT if you happen to change anything about your internet, say your Wifi name, you will have to go through h-e-double hockey sticks to get GHomeworkwithGosund to find your switches again. I have two switches and had to change our wifi name yesterday….after a VERY frustrating hour and a half, I finally got one of the switches reconnected. I was too annoyed to try the other one. Fast forward to today and I still have yet to get GHomeworkwithGosund to find the switch. Reset-lights blink quickly-2 minute countdown-timed out….over and over and over again. Attempt to connect to GoSund hotspot instead, nope, does not exist. I’ll try again tomorrow but it’s looking like GoSund switches and app may go bye bye.

I use this for simple control of my house interior and exterior lights and it works great. My only complaint is that there is no sunrise/ sunset feature. During the spring and fall months where the days quickly grow longer and shorter each day it’s annoying to continually have to adjust the “on” time of my multiple lights every few weeks. It would be a lot better if they could operate like the other wall switch timers I have where based on your location they adjust the timers to come on and off at “sunset” or “sunrise”.
Otherwise a good app.

My son in law told us about how we could operate lights from our phone. It was kind of a joke at first. We installed two socket switches on lamps in our living room. We are getting to the age where it is difficult (Not Impossible) to turn on lights. Next we installed one in our pole barn lights because I sometimes forget to turn them off before coming in the house. We now have them on the garage lights. Nice to turn on before entering the garage. Now for fun we have one on each of our night stands in the bedroom
Had a blast turning on and off lights when we had visitors. Some thought we have ghosts.

These devices are easy to program and manage, including their dimmer switches, with which you can remotely dim or brighten outdoor (or indoor) lighting.

For those who utilize security cameras like Nest, occasionally these need to be reset. Nest online help guide instructs that if you can’t reset a camera that is not functioning properly (such as a picture that entirely blurry and unfocused) by using their app, you need to do a hard reboot by unplugging and plugging the camera back in. But of course you can’t do the latter remotely.

Adding these smart plugs, however, makes these remote power reboots possible — and it has worked twice already for me in the past five months.

I purchased power socket controllers on a whim because they were about the same price as regular light timers. I live alone and I really love being able to turn on my lights remotely so I come home to a cozy, lit space. Also very handy for turning off lights at night. I underestimated how much I would like to just walk away from lit up living room and go up to my bedroom and turn everything off remotely with a click of a button on GHomeworkwithGosund . The devices work really well and, although I only use a fraction of the functionality, the automations I do have set up are very convenient. Once the outlet is setup, it pretty much just works. Would recommend!

I bought these not knowing anything about accessory lighting. The hardest thing about the install was getting the power sources, as I have 4 sets on my upper and lower cabinets. I have been truly amazed by the respuesta from people who see them. They emit a nice even light, and GHomeworkwithGosund is SUPER easy to use. The only complaints I have are that they tend to lose connection to WIFI on my network, and that you cannot purchase additional power transformers. I have close to 16+ft of “scrap”, and no way to use it.
Other than that.... LOVE THEM, TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE!

I am obsessed with GoSund’s product line. I originally bought the LED lights for the back of my TV. They were easy to install and have added so much extra ambience to my TV watching experience. I decided to take it up a notch and order the LED lights that plug into a regular wall outlet for under my kitchen cabinets as well as the multicolor light bulbs for my bedroom and living room lamps. Everything is so easy to set up and I love being able to manage all of the lights from one single app on my phone. It might sound silly, but in this midst of such a crazy year, these lights have brought me so much joy and I look forward to the evenings when it gets dark outside and I can fill my home with colors that reflect what I’m watching or the vibe I’m feeling that day. I would recommend this brand to anyone (and have shared the links with all of my friends!) and will absolutely be purchasing more in the future.

Many pleasant surprises and so far -after 2 months operation, very stable app

Am using for many Gosund wifi light bulbs, downlights, plugs, extension cords, Wall dimmer, and wall switches (approx 30 devices) but also found it supports Lumary devices.

IFTTT is really nice to have - replace a motion detector decora switch with normal switch and now control with separate Wireless tags motion/infrared - much more flexible - using app to change timeout is great. Even found a way to switch light back off after 2 minutes - app has minutes and seconds granularity.

Can get a bit confusing with 3 apps to setup - Gosund, Alexa and IFTTT, but if you add one thing at a time even a semi technical person will be fine. Each app has somewhat overlapping features - i.e. grouping lamps

Sweet to just change bulbs or plug in an adapter versus rewiring switches, can do 80%+ of what I wanted with no rewiring

Missing: haven’t found candelabra or large flood type bulbs

Before purchasing I thought will I really use this, will I waste my money? Well I I use it all the time and found uses beyond just turning on and off lights. I’m glad I spent the money. I put a smart socket in my crawl space to turn a dehumidifier on and off as needed. I monitor the humidity remotely and the humidifier restarts as long as it’s power switch is left on and it receives power. I control two houses with the Gosund app. Both houses are displayed on GHomeworkwithGosund , just click on the one you want to control. One house has Alexa the other Google. They work seamlessly. I highly recommend this product.

I bought a couple of these switches about a year ago for a set of light switches located in an inconvenient location behind a door. They worked so well I bought 2 more to eliminate a Smart Home hub and WiFi light bulbs that were a pain to manage just using an app.

Having a switch along with an app you have the best of both old and new technology. My wife hates using technology so she is able to control lights with the switch and I can use GHomeworkwithGosund to set routines to keep our home lit when away. Another benefit is I can get rid of the expensive WiFi LED bulbs and buy less expensive LED’s.

I suffered for 2 years using WEMO which intermittently crashed, barely worked and made me want to rip the outlets out of the walls and run over them with my car. I replaced them with this system and not only were they less expensive but GHomeworkwithGosund actually WORKS EVERY TIME - it is functionally flawless, at least in my network. No rebooting, no saying it can’t talk to the outlets, no forced sign in every time you have to reboot the system.....it is an absolute pleasure to use. I would recommend this 2000% . I would send their development team a nice fruit basket if I knew the address . Thank you!!

The privacy policy for GHomeworkwithGosund is obscene. Basically, you have NO privacy. They will scrape everything from your phone they can, and give it to their clients.

You cannot use GHomeworkwithGosund unless you agree.

If you don’t use GHomeworkwithGosund, you cannot setup the Gosund hardware products (such as smart plugs) you have purchased.

Access to call logs, phone number, IMEI, pictures, etc is not and cannot be a requirement for setting up a smart plug. But this company makes it so.

This is extortion. GHomeworkwithGosund should be banned from the store until it respects users’ privacy.

HORRIBLE app issues. Now I can’t even get GHomeworkwithGosund to open to add new devices. Basically just wasted my money. Not happy at all

The bulb itself and the idea is great. Unfortunately GHomeworkwithGosund freezes most of the time even after closing and restarting it.

GHomeworkwithGosund is not even opening anymore I don’t know if is affected by new Apple update or GHomeworkwithGosund update. I loved GHomeworkwithGosund until the the update because I can’t use it anymore.

App immediately closes when I open it. I reinstalled it & the same thing happened. I hope another app works cause I just bought the plugs.

I set my outlet to turn off after a 3 hour timer and it didn’t turn off. And GHomeworkwithGosund is misreporting that the outlet is off when it is on. Yikes.

Thinking an appliance is off when it is still powered is dangerous at worst and wasteful at least.

Can’t even open box after all the reviews about privacy. I got screwed on a smart watch and my credit cards were stolen because I didn’t read the entire privacy info. Not to mention a electrical plug should not need to access my pictures/google searches/emails/ phone#s to make it work so I’m not even going to open. I’m happy with the Home Depot smart plug because i don’t need to sell my soul to get them to work.

There is no privacy with GHomeworkwithGosund carefully read the details of the “private policy”. They get the information of your IP address’s of you phone, home network systems etc. they have your home address, phone number and email. I don’t understand how GHomeworkwithGosund is allowed to give all of this information out. If you don’t care about your personal information then GHomeworkwithGosund is great for you.

For a few weeks I have not been able to use GHomeworkwithGosund. This is a broken product from a company who doesn’t even have the capability to support their product. I have tried to make contact in how to fix my devices but it’s honestly so depressing to know you will get zero help. If the developers read this please contact me. This is really upsetting. Your product is not worth it.

Buyer BEWARE!!!!!!! GHomeworkwithGosund CRASHES!!!!! Therefore, I haven’t been able to OPEN GHomeworkwithGosund to register and can’t connect to my Alexa/phone!!!!!!!! The outlets I bought are pointless now. So upset. Do not buy.

The devices work great but GHomeworkwithGosund is full of bugs. It show the device’s offline when they are right on schedule. App needs fixing.

It’s too much of a sacrifice to change my 5gb to 2.4 gb to connect this to my led lights. Once I change the WiFi it ruins my connection with other things like my pc and I can’t bother to do it. Don’t get me wrong I it’s a great app but the fact it doesn’t support 5g connection makes it dead asf

Does what it is supposed to do, is easy to navigate, and is laid out very well. The author deserves a lot of credit for a job well done!

Pretty skeptical at first and there is a bit of a learning curve with some of the UI. But overall the functionality is great along with the ability to " program" conditions is amazing. Really hope GHomeworkwithGosund keeps developing!
