Great idea; disappointed by it becoming just advertising

When I first downloaded SAFE2SAVE, I loved the concept. Every company at that time actually offered you something for safe driving. Whether it be a burger or a discount etc. Now, it really has become a glorified advertisement app. Almost all of the new companies added you don’t even need SAFE2SAVE for the “deal.” It’s just another way to send spam basically. And 100%, not driving distracted should be my responsibility whether there is an incentive or not. But when I first used SAFE2SAVE, it was exciting to see how many points I got and I committed to putting my phone in my glove box or wherever so I wouldn’t use it. Now, though, with a long drive everyday, you can only eat so many Big Macs before you just decide to take a call from people while you drive. Again, the incentive should be staying alive but I guess I don’t need SAFE2SAVE having my information to do that.

Don’t get this app if you live in Austin

SAFE2SAVE has a great concept and I love using it and gaining points when I drive but there is only 5 Things available in Austin, TX. I’m a girl and they recently added a place where men can get their hair cut? This does not benefit many people using SAFE2SAVE . They also have aceable on there which is great! I am using aceable right now to get my license and I wish I would’ve known about the discount when I first got aceable! Although having aceable is great there is really nothing else in the Austin Area to use it on, so I won’t be using SAFE2SAVE anymore along with many people in Austin because there is nothing really to gain points for. I requested a couple different things on SAFE2SAVE , I’m not really sure how those work so I’m hopeful that they reach out to places in Austin! But if nothing more gets added to the Austin Area there is no real reason for people in Austin to use SAFE2SAVE, which is unfortunate since it seemed like such a great idea/concept.

Has problems

For the most part, it’s alright. I never use my phone while I drive so I thought it was a great idea for the rewards. But it has problems.

You need to keep your phone in your pocket. The first time I used SAFE2SAVE , I put my phone in the cars cupholder and when I took a turn, the phone giggled. Well, SAFE2SAVE registered it as me using my phone. Told support about it and they confirmed that I do need to keep my phone in my pocket and didn’t clear it off my account. Which I guess is fine and now I know.

The thing that makes me mad is the passenger feature. I just took a trip out of town with my boyfriend and he was the driver the whole time. I turned on passenger on SAFE2SAVE since I knew I’d be using my phone. I got dinged a total of 16 times for distracted driving between 3 trips. We only took the 1 trip so how it thinks 3 idk. It also showed the passenger feature was turned off.
Maybe I made a mistake? Nope. Turned it on again. Went to use my phone for a minute, went back, and saw it turned off again.

I’ve contacted support again about this and asked them to remove those distractions from my account but I doubt they will. Either way that’s the most important feature and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Fantastic app!

I've been using SAFE2SAVE for a year now and absolutely love it! It's really helped me to change my bad habit of texting and driving and I love that I get prizes for doing something that I should be doing anyway. I also like that it doesn't track me in a creepy way or invade my privacy like some of the other insurance apps do. The early version had some bugs that other users mentioned but those have been worked out for a while now and I never have any problems with it. Awesome app! Would love to see it in other states for all of my out of town family who want to use it too.

It’s great but...

I love SAFE2SAVE. I’m thankful for the recent update for the switch on passenger unlock, because it was annoying to have that notification constantly pop up when I’m not driving but in a moving vehicle. Overall, SAFE2SAVE is great, it’s just some of the stores/restaurants on here are very useful. Me personally, I live in Texas and Whataburger is a big thing for me. The fact that I can’t use my points from staying off my phone to get discounts from there is very disappointing. I understand that not every state has Whataburger and we have to keep it relevant for everyone, but I’d still like it to happen. :)

The app is too sensitive

SAFE2SAVE is amazing. I love everything about it and what it promotes and the awareness it brings. But I think the sensitivity on it is a little high. I can have my phone sitting not near me or even touching it and if it slides it alerts that it’s been moved and counts as a distraction. It counts distractions when there are no distractions. I’m not even touching my phone. It’s nowhere near me and it’s still somehow counting distractions causing points to go down. So when in a competition it puts me back to where I’m not even eligible. I can compare it to my Geico app where it detects my phone usage and driving habits and it shows correctly. ZERO phone usage. My phone can be in the seat next to me and simply slide and it counts as a distraction. Not impressed.

FAM helps me sleep better as safety matters

I love knowing when my daughter leaves or arrives certain places like school or volleyball and now with FAM I can get notifications that give me a peace of mind she arrived safely without me asking “Did you arrive?!”

Even knowing where my family is at all times and how safe and undistracted we were on all the routes is very helpful as without loopbacks it’s hard to course correct behavior changes. We love positive rewards, free food + camaraderie this brings our family and community.

great app!!!!

I love the new feature that shows you you’re driving score and that it gives you points on how good your score is. the only thing is that if your not driving it still gives u a score. it should have a feature that you say that some one else is driving so it doesn’t bring your score down. I live in the dfw area and they don’t have many options at the moment, but I know SAFE2SAVE was set for the college station area so it needs more time to reach to other areas and I’m okay with that! overall great app and helps me keep of my phone when driving!!!!!

8 year daughter helps keep me accountable

My 8 yr old daughter is one the biggest advocates of Safe 2 Save. When we get in the car, she always reminds me of 2 things! She’ll say Dad, put your seat belt on. Then without hesitation she asks for my phone, and turns on SAFE2SAVE . A few years ago we were on our way home and saw a wreck happen in front of us. Ever since then she’s been vigilant about car safety and she makes sure that we are using Safe 2 Save. She also chooses where we use our points :-)

Was great before they “updated” now it’s horrible

It’s not tracking all of my trips! I drove to Dallas from Hearne 2x this week and Only one trip is recorded- and it’s got so many distractions because I was a passenger. I just drive Thursday from Bryan to Hearne and didn’t touch my phone but it says I had 15+ distractions. I only use my pandora and it automatically connects to my apple car play- I’m wondering of me changing pandora counted as a distraction?

it WAS good...

So, it’s true what they say, it drains your battery, but what do you expect?
I used SAFE2SAVE religiously for almost 3 months, I only used one reward location though, Chickfila. And in my opinion, it’s the only one that’s worth it. HOWEVER I went to try to use some points 2 days ago and they only offer one reward now! I was so disappointed and a little mad. The one reward is completely not worth it. I will be deleting and sadly watching my points go to waste.
I am leaving 3 stars though because it did what it was supposed to do, I don’t text and drive anymore, it was a real motivator.

Great app, but one IMPORTANT suggestion

SAFE2SAVE is really great, but a suggestion would be to expand on locations in a given city because people would like to redeem there rewards without having to drive 30mins away just to get the reward such as McDonald’s. So can you please make it so that there are many option towards location of the place rather than one specific location like one specific McDonald’s that’s like 30mins away from my location.

Developers Please Read

I downloaded SAFE2SAVE about 3 weeks ago and so far most of SAFE2SAVE is satisfying. I enjoy using the deals for food. The only problem I have is how annoying the notifications are. When it notifies me not to be on my phone I click passenger unlock. (I dont have a liscence yet, I’m not 16.) But like 2 minutes later it tells me the same thing. It’s annoying to have to press passenger unlock 20 times in one car ride. I would suggest an update where after passenger unlock is clicked, it’s unlocked for that whole car ride. But everything else is good. Thanks.

Review

I love SAFE2SAVE very much since I’m able to get free things. But I also dislike SAFE2SAVE to I tried to download another app through save 2 save to earn more points but I didn’t receive my 200 points. Also I have done more things to get points and I didn’t receive them . But overall it’s a good app and I don’t regret getting it.

Good luck redeeming offers

Partner businesses seem wholly unaware that they’re participants in this program. The first time I attempted to redeem an offer, 1000 points were taken out of my account and the merchant said, “Oh, I can’t give it to you.” I even escalated the issue to the manager and pointed out that they have a this app decal on their front door. Since then, I make it a point to ask the merchant before I hit “Redeem” but still, none of them seem to know what they’re supposed to do.

Customer service is also horrible. I called and spoke to a woman and followed up with an email regarding my issue with losing 1000 points. She said she would follow up with the merchant and return my points. That hasn’t happened.

I have issues. Only get points for non driving things.

SAFE2SAVE would be great I think if it would just give me points for driving. When I originally set it up I didn’t have my drivers license handy and so I skipped part of the sign up and went back later that same day to add what I had to skip to begin with but SAFE2SAVE will not give me points for driving.I have contacted the company a few times and they’ve not been able to resolve this issue. So I’m giving it a two star because others I have signed up and told about SAFE2SAVE too, have had success in getting their points while they’re driving.

Great App! But needs to expand (a lot)

SAFE2SAVE is a great! It’s great knowing that someone out there does care, and it does help you put down your phone. I’m definitely more cautious and aware of it now. But I live in a pretty big city in Oklahoma and thought there would be places to redeem the awards..... there is not. I only have one shop near me, and I never go there.

I’ve been suggesting for businesses on SAFE2SAVE , but I never know if people actually see those, so I’m hoping someone sees this, and add places in Norman, or more in Oklahoma in general.

Thanks guys!

Too many notifications when not driving

I love SAFE2SAVE and live in an area where there are great rewards. But after this latest update I seem to be constantly getting notifications throughout the day asking if I want to earn points. Very annoying! Which means I have to turn off notifications and then turn them back on every time I get in my car. There should be an option in SAFE2SAVE to only get notifications when you are driving.

Disappointing Offers

Most of the offers on SAFE2SAVE are not actually incentivizing. The partners are offering the same deals they do to everyone else but SAFE2SAVE gives the illusion you earned something special.

I appreciate SAFE2SAVE pop ups and the picture reminder “is it worth it.” I think my driving has improved a little since using SAFE2SAVE . I apparently already drove pretty well haha.

Half the time, I don’t even remember I have SAFE2SAVE or get excited about earning rewards which is what SAFE2SAVE was all about when I saw the ad for it.

Drains your battery!

I had an iPhone 6s and I downloaded SAFE2SAVE and allowed it to constantly track my location because it won’t let you accumulate points if you don’t allow it. My battery would not last me through the morning so I thought it was time to upgrade phones and I did only to find out that it was this app that was DRAINING my battery super fast even though I didn’t have it open! The idea is great because the points help me afford cheap date nights, but it isn’t worth it if SAFE2SAVE uses 43% of my battery life in just a few hours on a new iPhone 11. No longer worth it to use. I’ll use up my points and then deleting :(

Keeps me in check!

I’ve been using this app for about 4 months now and it’s definitely kept my eyes on the road. It helps too to be able to personalize the home screen with a photo of my family as a reminder to always drive safe and be alert of all of my surroundings. I’m not just driving for myself, I’m driving for my loved ones as well.

Confused and scammed?

I love SAFE2SAVE overall it’s super awesome and works well for the most part. The only problem I’m really quite confused about is that when I shared SAFE2SAVE with one of my friends through text I was supposed to receive 300 points when she registered. She downloaded it and registered even earned herself points but I never seemed to receive my 300 points I’m not sure if it’s a scam or some sort of glitch. I would love to know how to redeem them if anyone could tell me how it would be much appreciated thanks so much!

By

Ehhh

Absolutely love SAFE2SAVE and the concept. But, there seriously needs to be some worthwhile options to redeem points on and a lot more options. There’s 2 Etsy shops I could redeem at, but I’d never purchase from either. And there are 3 online shops I’ve never heard of. Pick up some national chains, local and online and this will be my favorite app. Will keep SAFE2SAVE and continue earning points in hopes more and better redemption options are offered in the future. If not, I’ll eventually delete it. I won’t wait forever.

Great application

Great app to give back to community. I use SAFE2SAVE to help others on streets! I see many homeless hungry people while driving. I give away the meals and drinks to the people. They are all very thankful. Great way to convert miles into points and points into food which makes big changes in the community. I feel great helping my community. Thanks for the opportunity

Not there yet

While SAFE2SAVE has potential, it will need a lot more buy-in from restaurants and stores before it's worth much. I thought, hey I can get a free sandwich from Chick-fil-A because they are everywhere, right? No. SAFE2SAVE only includes a couple in the Houston area and they aren't near the places I go to. I don't ship or eat at the other places listed, so I submit some suggestions. I'll probably just leave it on my phone to collect points and see if any new places come up that I go to.

I Love This App Safe 2 Save

My name is Brian Lazard and I am in love with the safe 2 save app because not only have I stop talking and texting while driving but now I’m being rewarded for my sacrifice. The points that I gain for not talking or texting, I can use towards restaurants, entertainment ventures and more. The more points you gain the more money you save all while driving safe. AWESOME APP!!!
