I’m from Philadelphia. I received a late order for New Jersey, for popeyes, which was 35 minutes away. I crossed state lines, paid a toll, drive there, only for the restaurant to be long closed, then for the order to be cancelled altogether. I’m then 35 minutes + another toll away from my delivery region. When I called support, they didn’t say much and then transferred me to another support member, who then apologized, before falling into silence as well. I said, “what happens now? No response. I say, “I drove really far to get here, and now I’m out both money and time, and us drivers don’t make much to begin with. Our time is a commodity.” He says that there’s nothing he can do. I tell him that doordash offers drivers half of the rate for miscommunications that clearly aren’t the driver’s fault. He then says there’s no payment or compensation that can be made. The customer service was horrible. I had to take the lead as no one else was speaking or saying anything of substance.
I DO NOT recommend driving for this app. Horrible customer service, when they give you late orders they don’t notify the customer, so you have an angry customer on your hands that thinks the tardiness is your fault, and the rates are horrible. Go drive for uber eats, doordash, postmates, but not this app. I’ve never had a worthwhile experience. This system needs a big Change up.
