HOH

I have gotten a lot of error messages with DrAsHabitsofHealth. Recently, I was only able to add data-healthy eating, once a day. Then I lost all of the the data I had tracked on the weight management-50+ days; it seems to have reset itself. I’m also losing a day for a day in the hydration section, was at 50+ days now 47 days. I was told, earlier this week, there was a glitch and I’d have to, possibly, wait for DrAsHabitsofHealth to be updated-maybe a month, for this issue to be corrected. I seem to be able to go beyond the first healthy eating entry today. It doesn’t seem to sync with all of the features on DrAsHabitsofHealth . I posted about it on Facebook and other people seem to be having the same issue. I emailed Optavia support and received an email back stating a “ticket has been created”. The admin of the Facebook told me to message her if I got error messages. She was the one that told me about waiting for the update also.
If someone was to ask me to today, if I would recommend DrAsHabitsofHealth, I would not.

Poorly Designed

DrAsHabitsofHealth is so poorly designed I’ve decided to review it (I haven’t ever reviewed an app). I was used to using My Fitness Pal where you track everything you put in your mouth. I think the concept of DrAsHabitsofHealth is to make this easy to get everyone used to tracking verses tracking what they eat. I can understand that everyone is in a different place in their journey and tracking details might not be for some. Once I got used to the very little detail it wasn’t hard to use. Then after 40 days of tracking DrAsHabitsofHealth “lost time” meaning it didn’t know what time it was. I assumed this was due to the time change. Then it said I missed a day when I didn’t and I clearly logged all of my meals. Now it has locked me out of logging my meals and I can only log water, what good is that? I have tried restarting my phone, uninstalling DrAsHabitsofHealth , reinstalling DrAsHabitsofHealth and nothing works. This was supposed to be one of the tools on this journey. Very disappointed

Hard to believe this is an app to create health

I’ve lost 25 lbs on Dr.A’s Optavia program, but have not been using DrAsHabitsofHealth for over 6 mos, even though I get reminders to track my day. So i finally tried to do just that and DrAsHabitsofHealth has completely abandoned me! I am only “allowed” to record water consumption and Daily Stop Challenge Choose, until I can “unlock” weight management, which according to Dr A’s Lifebook is the FIRST MacroHabit and where “most of us will start” pg. 55 Element 2. So why can’t I record my fuelings?? I used to be able to? Am I in Optavia purgatory? It stresses me out. I even “gave feedback” on DrAsHabitsofHealth and it did nothing. More stressful constantly to be reminded what I can’t do than to use DrAsHabitsofHealth . Deleting it tonight, I do not feel that the organization is following or cares about DrAsHabitsofHealth.

Disappointed

DrAsHabitsofHealth came highly recommended for my journey and I was doing great. It has marked me Incomplete and started me over and now it will only let me keep track of my water. DrAsHabitsofHealth was the biggest reason I lost 20 of my current pounds. It helps but now it’s worthless. I also want to add that when keeping track of the water it needs to be in ounces and not cups. That would be more helpful. Example is adding a 16.9 ounce bottle of water or a 20 ounce bottle. Also logging food such as weight of the meat and veggies. Logging the fuelings. Just marking things as healthy or not is not good. Visually seeing the weights of the food is helpful as well as the calories. Analyzing choices is helpful so that we can change choices when we see weight is slower coming off.

IF YOU CARE, FIX THIS APP, OTHERWISE SHUT IT DOWN

Even with the update on 3/9/22, these fixes haven’t been made. DO NOT DOWNLOAD DrAsHabitsofHealth. — Original review: Who designed DrAsHabitsofHealth? This should be way more user friendly than it is. It’s like it was just a scramble to put it together and no one cares if it actually works. And knowing that it’s not working, no one wants to go in and fix it. There’s more than half of the features in DrAsHabitsofHealth that are not available at all. Badges are available for reaching certain milestones but you can’t unlock the badges. There are also way more user friendly ways to adjust the times of each meal than the way it is currently set up in DrAsHabitsofHealth . FIX IT OR SHUT IT DOWN!!

App works for me, simple is better

I was hesitant to download bc of the bad reviews. I did and it works for me, I’m using an iPhone. It’s simple and I like the notifications, I also like that at a quick glance I can see if I’ve missed a fueling or not and how many I need. I’m gave it 4 stars bc I did have a hard time changing the notification from 3 hours to 2.5 for my fueling timer, it wasn’t till the next day that it updated to what I wanted. I know there’s other methods out there but to start this ones ok to keep track of fuelings.

By

Disappointed

I am having similar glitch errors as other have reported recently. At first, DrAsHabitsofHealth was working as designed and supporting me through the initial stages of the program. In the last few days it has locked me out of the ability to log my meals and will not save my program meal plan in the settings. I also get an error message when logging updating measurements. I have tried deleting and reinstalling DrAsHabitsofHealth only to have the same experience. I was looking forward to the support of DrAsHabitsofHealth to help build on the habits I have been creating.

By

Finally figured this out.

My last fueling of the day is usually after midnight. I finally figured out that you can add or adjust the meal time after midnight by view your unfinished day in the habit overview. Click on the yellow symbol for the day and it will allow you to make necessary changes to your day. It is only able to do that for a limited time… a day or two. I like DrAsHabitsofHealth well enough, as it reminds me of the times I need to eat throughout the day. If there is an audible alarm, I can’t find the settings.

By

Disappointed

I was 40 days in and my meal tracker stopped working. It would show that I missed meals and I didn’t. Then I couldn’t even access it. I looked at my profile and my meal plan was no longer visible. I selected my plan again and it said it would reset the next day. It didn’t. I checked my plan again and it wasn’t visible. There are some serious bugs with DrAsHabitsofHealth and it doesn’t seem like anyone is interested in fixing them. Luckily I’m pretty set in my eating habits at this point, but I did like the reminders and seeing my progress. Too bad.

By

Good intentions

The creators of DrAsHabitsofHealth had good intentions and when it was working it was great to know when the next fueling was coming up (albeit an hour before a fueling is probably too early of an alert!). It was glitchy at times and now it’s not working at all. It allows me to add my first fueling of the day and then the plus sign is shaded which doesn’t allow me to add anymore. I’ve asked on the Optavia page on Facebook and many of them are having the same problem. As of now I’m just using notes to track my fuelings for the day.

By

No one to ask

I have tracked food and water for over 9 weeks; the other badges never open for me and there is no indication what you need to do to open the other badges.
Suddenly it now says I successfully installed weight management and to select another habit but the screen is blank. So I cannot track anything as the weight management only takes me to a blank screen. It is so frustrating as I have used DrAsHabitsofHealth diligently. There is no one to contact to ask. I truly hope DrAsHabitsofHealth developers read the reviews. They should be embarrassed their app is so badly rated.

This app will fool you!

I’m just going to reiterate what EVERYONE has said about DrAsHabitsofHealth. Get it fixed, please! Or stop recommending that it be used. It is a waste of our time trying to comply with this part of being accountable. Like everyone is requesting since we pay so much to be on this program…

1. Hire professional app makers to complete DrAsHabitsofHealth so it minimizes the glitches and allows us to make the most of this program using DrAsHabitsofHealth!

2. Have the timer remind us to eat on the third hour or allow us to set it ourselves.

3. Allow us to edit our weight and measurements in case we enter an error.

4. Allow us to update our fuelings and water intake.

5. Allow us to enter in what we ate to keep record.

It may be expensive on your part, Optavia, but remember that participants who use Optavia spend A LOT of money to begin with. It will only help to boost the morale and use of the program.

Can’t get in

For some reason, I cannot get into DrAsHabitsofHealth . I deleted and reinstalled DrAsHabitsofHealth 3 times, shutting down my phone and waiting a while before powering up and reinstalling DrAsHabitsofHealth . It doesn’t come on to the page. Instead, it asks me to log in. Then, I get a red notice that my log on and password are wrong. I have not changed anything to either of these. DrAsHabitsofHealth was working last night and then not this morning. I still get notifications to log my first meal and cannot do that.
Did the latest update change anything?

Frustrating

DrAsHabitsofHealth seems an important part of the program, but it is more frustrating than helpful. My hydration habit was fully installed, but on the last day of healthy eating DrAsHabitsofHealth wouldn’t let me enter my last fueling. Instead I get an error about a reverse query on an active slice. Seriously???? Today even though my profile indicates I’ve installed 2 habits the individual pages for healthy eating & hydration have full calendars but do not indicate installation. In fact if I click on the last day it thinks it’s day 52!!!! Where is the support for DrAsHabitsofHealth????

By

I am a Coach and a Client

As a client I was never able to get DrAsHabitsofHealth to work properly. I was never able to get logged in. Called client support and they could not even help. I finally started using MyFitnessPal instead and set it up to record my specific fuelings and my Lean and Green for the day.

I was very disappointed. Now I am a coach and love the program, but cannot help my clients with DrAsHabitsofHealth because I am unfamiliar with it. I’m hoping the kinks are getting worked out as time goes on because I think this is a crucial part of the program.

Work the bugs out

Not a bad app when it works. Several times I have had my habit installation reset because DrAsHabitsofHealth doesn’t register completed days or drops a fueling that I recorded earlier. DrAsHabitsofHealth sends you a message, but they only show up after it is too late to correct the error.

The interface can be awkward to navigate and understand and there is no help, so you just have to figure it out.

DrAsHabitsofHealth has the potential to be really good with some work.

Great idea does not work

This idea is fantastic to keep track of meals and water intake as well as weight and waist measurements. ……BUT……. DrAsHabitsofHealth doesn’t work consistently. I have been on program for 2 months and have lost all my progress 3 times now because DrAsHabitsofHealth won’t allow me to log anything or will loose my progress or will not move on to the next day. Today I have all of my logs from March 11 but today is March 12! We all seem to have the same problems.

I’m deleting my app.
No thanks.
Don’t want the frustration.

By

App needs work

There is no editing on DrAsHabitsofHealth. My 1st day, I pushed myself to drink water. 14 glasses!!! DrAsHabitsofHealth showed me the proper number, but it says I missed my hydration (6 out of 8)? I’m concerned about an app that doesn’t keep track or allow errors to be fixed. The IT should at least be able to. I was advised to just move on or delete and reinstall? I can’t move to the next step in program if I miss a day so?????

Loved. Now doesn’t work.

I loved DrAsHabitsofHealth. It helped me so much to track my progress and send me reminders to my watch to eat and keep going. Then a couple of weeks ago it stopped working. It no longer lets me track my food. Every time I try to put that I’m on the 5&1 plan it says it will update tomorrow and never does. It’s been really hard to keep track of learning all my new habits without this. I’ve reached out to customer support a few times and nothing has changed.

Not impressed

-It’s like they didn’t finish DrAsHabitsofHealth
-I’ve gone weeks, getting green stars, and the badges don’t update accordingly.
-There is no where to record your weight/measurements. Should be able to do this weekly, with a reminder…after all, isn’t this what we are doing with DrAsHabitsofHealth?
-Once you hit 66 days, you can no longer enter info…just says, you’ve completed this habit.
-only 2 of the habit pages let me enter info…was hoping after a couple of weeks the others would unlock, so you could start incorporating exercise and tracking sleep.
-I’ve emailed the company’s customer service twice and gave feedback on DrAsHabitsofHealth …NO RESPONSE, not even an automated email
-like the shakes and bars, but not impressed with the rest of the company
-Disappointing to say the least.

Love the OPTIVIA system, hate the app

I did not download DrAsHabitsofHealth right away and can not back date information to get a true picture of my journey since my launch date. When I was setting up DrAsHabitsofHealth I guessed at some of the info and I was wrong. There is no way to change that data. I’m very frustrated. There is no place to track my weight loss. The times for meals is fixed so they are completely off. It makes it hard to keep track of when my next meal should be. I should be able to input when I eat my first meal and the DrAsHabitsofHealth send me reminders based on that time. (It doesn’t send me any kind of reminders though even though I selected that option.) Then I should be able to input the actual time of each meal so I can see where I might be having a problem. I like the stop, challenge and choose option but don’t like that there isn’t a journal function. I drink 20 8oz glasses of water a day but DrAsHabitsofHealth cuts me off at 10 glasses. All of the above things are important things you are teaching in the paper journal that came with the system but are not present in DrAsHabitsofHealth . How am I supposed to have a complete view of my progress if 85% of it is not even trackable in DrAsHabitsofHealth . Now I’m going to have to download another app just to properly track my progress. Very disappointed. ☹️ Would love to have more freedom in DrAsHabitsofHealth . Any information I input I should be able to edit.

Loving the plan, hating the app.

Loving the HOH plan, but DrAsHabitsofHealth is worthless. With meal times basically unable to be customized (you can only set your first meal between like 5am and 8:30 am) and SET at exactly 3 hrs apart, it isn’t helpful for reminders or accurate reporting/diary. Obviously the goal is to get up and be active, but not everyone works a normal 9-5 schedule, so some people’s window will look different. And some fuelings are 2hrs apart while some are 3...so you need to be able to adjust. As others have noted, you cannot actually record WHAT you ate, nor keep track of fulfilling healthy fats or using condiments for the day. Having the option of “healthy, ok, or unhealthy” (??) for the lean and green meal is not really even helpful as you either are eating on plan or not. And again, not being able to edit the starting-out info or demographics is just ridiculous. There are other apps that do a better job at meal reminders, but it would be nice to have that integrated with the HOH progressive steps of DrAsHabitsofHealth. (And to be able to look back at trends and what you ate/times/that kind of stuff- like a lot of health and activity/sleep apps allow)

As it is now, DrAsHabitsofHealth is something I’m just checking off meal boxes that I ate...even if they’re at totally wrong times...so that I can get to the other interactive things in DrAsHabitsofHealth that don’t “unlock” until certain days of progress.

Too basic

I understand DrAsHabitsofHealth is trying to get you to set habits, but the inability to set first meal time and frequency within guidelines is a no starter for me. I am not going to stay up past my bedtime to log my last meal to pass for the day. I don’t see me passing the first phase due to that reason alone and it is really counterproductive to the program. I eat within guidelines at every 2 1/2 hours and DrAsHabitsofHealth should allow for that. Additionally, I should be able to log my snacks and condiments, weight, all measurements etc. DrAsHabitsofHealth is nice, but needs more flexibility and functionality to be effective.
Update: I have deleted and started over twice already due to time between meals being too long for me. I am still having to stay up later than I should just to log my last meal. This time, I have been using DrAsHabitsofHealth for 9 days and there is still not place to change weight or measures on DrAsHabitsofHealth . I’m going to delete and start over again with a fake start time so I can go to sleep on time. It really needs to be updated ASAP with the basics. Ability to log Start Time everyday with choice of how often to eat (2-3 hours within guidelines) and weighs and measures weekly - MINIMUM updates. Then ability to add condiments and snacks.

Great potential

I’m excited to see Optavia developing an app! It would be a great way to track your progress if it were a bit more customizable. I’m on 5&1 and I don’t like that DrAsHabitsofHealth locks you into specific times to eat. Every day is different therefore DrAsHabitsofHealth should allow you to track your own time, that way you would get a more accurate evaluation of your progress. Also, I’m surprised that after only 2-8 oz glasses of water DrAsHabitsofHealth congratulated me on meeting my daily water goal. I’ve been told from day one that this program requires a lot more than 16 oz of water! It would also be nice to have the dining out guide as well as a condiments and healthy fats guide on DrAsHabitsofHealth. Also a place to type in what specific fuelings you ate and your L&G meal ingredients would be helpful. I love Optavia and was excited about DrAsHabitsofHealth but I don’t see myself using it very often. I will go back to my old fashioned paper and pen method bc I feel it is more accurate and I get a more clear picture of exactly what went in my mouth that day.

Has potential but will not be using

So happy to see DrAsHabitsofHealth is finally available! I love seeing my why when I’m using DrAsHabitsofHealth . After answering a variety of questions that seem to personalize DrAsHabitsofHealth , it was very disappointing to see that the daily use of DrAsHabitsofHealth is not personalized. Why is the water goal set at 2 glasses? That’s too low for anyone. Not being able to adjust meal times on a daily basis makes DrAsHabitsofHealth a little useless for meal reminders. How discouraging to wake up to a notice telling you that you failed (it is locked in at every 3 hours, and I was already asleep at 11:30 for the last reminder). It also seems way to simple from the start. Tracking meals, water, and stop/challenge/choose. I already have an app to do that, and it allows me to track meal times in real time while giving me reminders every 10 minutes until I record my meal. Please make DrAsHabitsofHealth more user friendly and worthwhile. I will be deleting it for now as it is useless to me.

Good ideas but more fine tuning needed

I started the Healthy Habits program 9 days ago. I was excited to find DrAsHabitsofHealth and even got it before day 1. I had to delete my account because the day I downloaded it, I went through the process and it started day one. I couldn’t undo it so deleted.
I made a new account. The ability to track meals eaten is great, but the actual flexibility is challenging. It would be very beneficial to be able to not only track s fueling, but note condiments & fats. There also isn’t a way to update weight and waste measurements.
And today my water tracking completely disappeared.
I am very certain there is a way to do fine tune the HOH app. So many people would benefit. In this day & age of use of app, it would be very advantageous. Other apps do such things. I may have to look for another app to support my journey, but my hope is that it will be updated. Thanks!

Confident Continued Improvements Coming

I believe DrAsHabitsofHealth was developed with the end goal in mind: that all users would get up at the same time, not earlier than 5:00 am, etc. And that may be true for 80-90% of users. But for those whose days start earlier or later, those who need flexibility in daily start times or meal pacing, DrAsHabitsofHealth is not as helpful as it could be. I truly believe more improvements are coming, that will allow users to stay true to the concepts intended without “ish-ing” DrAsHabitsofHealth . I would love to be able to have my first meal recorded earlier than 5 am. I would love to have the ability to set my specific alarm times for each meal, since mine vary but are within the 2-3 hr window. I would love the flexibility to change the start times to coincide with occasional schedule changes. I would LOVE alarms for water. I’m not an app developer, so I don’t know the programming challenges to be faced and whether the changes so many have requested are even possible. But they would be nice!

Yes..and no!

I love the new logos and rebranding of this transformational program, and had high hopes for the new app. However, for those of us ALREADY on plan...it's too basic. Not being able to change the times when recording fuelings (or to be able to edit times already recorded) is problematic. As a person already using the plan, I want DrAsHabitsofHealth to track not just WHEN I eat (which is all it can do, at this point), but to track weights/measures of Lean and Green meals, and to record WHICH Optavia fuelings I eat, much like other food trackers (Weight Watchers, MyFitnessPal, etc). There needs to be a way to skip over beginning, basic material, for veterans, and get to the "meatier" parts of the plan in DrAsHabitsofHealth. I am disappointed, so far, with what DrAsHabitsofHealth CURRENTLY can do, but am holding out that in future updates, all users' feedback will result in greater functionality!

By

Okay, but...

The ideas of DrAsHabitsofHealth are great. Unfortunately, applications cannot not be modified or updated in any way. Although I love the ideas behind DrAsHabitsofHealth and the actual wellness program, once you do initial set-up, you cannot modify, add, change anything. Example: eating times, weight, BMI, plan changes ie 5.1 to 4.2.1 etc. in addition, there’s no ability to check off fuelings after midnight. I address this as my last fueling is at 10:30 PM. If I fall asleep and do not check it off accordingly, it cannot be updated in the morning AND you’re marked with a big FAIL red X. Again, love the ideas, and potential of DrAsHabitsofHealth and the program, but would like to see change capabilities added to better track changing programs, weight, etc.

By

Deleted until changes are made

I was very excited for DrAsHabitsofHealth but after only 2 days I deleted the account and DrAsHabitsofHealth from my phone. The first day I set this up it asked when my first meal of the day was. That day happened to be 830am so it set reminders for every 3 hours meaning my last fueling would be at 1130pm, long past my bedtime. Since I’m on the 5:1 plan, I adjusted a couple of fuelings that day to 2.5 hours instead of 3 to ensure I ate all 5. DrAsHabitsofHealth doesn’t allow you to change times. So the reminders are pointless. Nothing is more discouraging to wake up and be told you “failed”.
You can’t progress unless you are successful and because I’m not awake at 1130pm I will never be successful. Don’t tell me I “failed”. I don’t need that negativity in my life. I hope they correct this soon because Dr A’s program is beyond fantastic but DrAsHabitsofHealth is going to ruin the program’s credibility.

By

Unhelpful

DrAsHabitsofHealth is cumbersome and horrible. I am deleting it. I will do this journey without it and use some other meal tracker. Just because I started at 7 am on the first day now that’s the meal time every day. It won’t let you report a minute earlier than exactly 3 hours apart even though the books say (2-3 hours). People’s lives have fluctuations. Yesterday I traveled, started the day much earlier and went to bed early. I had to wait and report retroactively. I had all my fuelings but didn’t stay up til 10 to report the last one because I started each meal earlier and I needed sleep. I went to report it today and now I have a big X that says I “failed” Yesterday. It also did the same thing when I installed it days before starting and then marked all these Xs when I hadn’t started yet. You can’t adjust anything. Super frustrating and disempowering.

Meal plan times

Once you set a meal time you must stick to that meal time, there is NO way to change it. Also it’s every 3 hrs automatically. I do every 2.5 hrs so it throws my whole day off since the only time that matches is the first one. ( if I started the time I did the first day) I’ve ask many people who are higher up on the coach list and no one will answer these questions. I also sent a question email to optavia since that’s where it sends you if you ask for APP help. Do you really think they are trained in DrAsHabitsofHealth ? Not sure but I’m about to delete the account and start over once I go back to work where I’ll be waking up at the same time daily. But I still won’t eat everything 3 hrs. So not sure how to handle this. Good luck on your health journey! Week 5 down 18.2 lbs and 10.5 inches! The program works, DrAsHabitsofHealth preferences not so much!

By

Optavia is great - app needs work

Very frustrated with the new app which automatically sets a meal time every three hours. There is no ability to adjust it from 2-3 hours as recommended in the 5:1 program. It also doesn’t let you complete the meal early as a work around. Customization for meal start times by day or at minimum week day v week end would be helpful. It would be nice if you could add notes outside of the behavioral question. There should be the opportunity to track weight and measurements within DrAsHabitsofHealth . The resources for the program are in DrAsHabitsofHealth which is nice but they are hidden which is not user friendly. DrAsHabitsofHealth has potential but until they adjust the meal times it is useless to me. If I start my meals at 8 they have me eating until 11pm! Finally no option to track healthy fat, condiment, or snacks.

Day 1 Experience

Today is my first day using DrAsHabitsofHealth . Like others have mentioned, I am unable to ADD to my eating chart, even when I’m near the targeted fueling time. At one time this morning, when I opened the Overview tab I had successfully achieved the day’s habit—no I had not, because I only had 1 green dot for my first fueling. I am also surprised I cannot edit my weight—it is different than what I entered yesterday. I have deleted DrAsHabitsofHealth . Reinstalled DrAsHabitsofHealth . Now DrAsHabitsofHealth won’t let me sign in. So, I went through the process of setting up my profile again, but the system tells me that my email is already in use. I am eager to use DrAsHabitsofHealth and am disappointed that I cannot effectively use it on my first day. I’m tracking in a journal, so I hope I can enter all of my successes when DrAsHabitsofHealth works properly.

Just started and I see the flaws

Downloaded DrAsHabitsofHealth four days ago, and setup everything. Was super excited to use DrAsHabitsofHealth . It said that it was going to start tracking my meals and water the next day.... But I wasn't starting the program for three more days. Now my tracker is off, and I can't restart it.... Second issue. In the setup, you set the times for when your meals are. Which is great for the work week. But on the weekends, I'm not waking up at 5:30 A.M. So my first meal isn't at 6 A.M. the need to add something onto the meals times, that allows you to update the time according to when you eat it. I shouldn't have edit my whole thing, just to reset it Sunday night.
