California Fish Grill Ordering Reviews

I’ve experienced an issue with an order that I placed yesterday using Cali . Cali made it a future order for May 7, 2021. I want to cancel this order and have sent multiple messages on Cali and still have not gotten a response back. And I have also called the store and was told that they would have to email the IT department?? Please respond to the messages I’ve sent. Thank you.

Pre ordered online at 7pm 3 orders to be ready at 8pm which is my lunch break. We only get 30 minutes , when I arrived they tell me that they didn’t make the shrimp skewers order because they were out of shrimp skewers . Was disappointed that they couldn’t call to tell me so I could place an order for something else instead of get there and wait for them to make something else . Our 30 minute lunch ended up being 15 minutes , then to find out 2 orders didn’t have utensils after we selected utensils online . Smh! Make sure you check your orders guys.

Placed an order with the Cypress location for curbside pickup. Called their number when I arrived and no one picked up. Robo-routed and on hold for 10 minutes. Finally went in and the hostess just stared when I told her they weren’t answering their phone—no explanation. My food had been sitting there the whole time. Their food is good but don’t offer curbside pickup when you don’t honor it. I wanted to reduce their tip from my order because of the bad service but it’s locked in once complete. There are too many other fish restaurants in the area that I will patronize from now on. Not here.

Every single time!! it never fails they miss to put something in your bag!! Only reason I come here it’s because it’s close to home. Make sure to check you bag!!! They only will offer an apology when you bring it up to their attention, not nice when you get home and realize they forgot to put your kids meal in the bag and you have to drive back. Management needs to fix this.

Delicious restaurant and good customer service. However, the option that indicated either pickup or delivery is barely noticeable, so on several occasions I’ve accidentally ordered pickup when I intended for it to be delivery because it is automatically set to pickup. I would then have to call, request a refund and reorder. There was also an issue when I requested delivery. Since once you request delivery, it automatically goes to third parties such as Door-Dash and Postmates, if the order never comes resulting in a pending charge for both delivery and the food, such as was the case for mine, the resturaunt cannot help and one must contact the third party even if you do not have an account with the third party such as Postmates. Again, absolute great restaurant, but not an app I’ll use again anytime soon.

Locating menu items is difficult, not necessarily intuitive and frequently the search function didn’t work. I attempted to schedule a delivery but got an error message until finally I agreed to pick it up because there was no way to rectify the error message. I emailed Tech Support and waited over two hours for a reply, and never receive one. Fortunately, the food is excellent!

I have tried ordering multiple times and Cali continues to tell me there is an issue with my payment information when I know there is not. I have attempted to use several different cards and none of them would go through when I know the card & information was all valid. Please fix this, it deters me from ordering food here which is a shame because the food is great.

Downloaded Cali last minute to attempt to pay online in order to skip the line . It’s annoying enough that it doesn’t let you just sync with Apple Pay to add my card . On top of that it keeps saying my card is invalid and won’t let me pay with it even though the information is correct.

Everything is horizontally scrolled through. I could not even find the dish I ordered from Uber eats before. Even have to manually enter payment info instead of using Apple Pay. You can’t just put the website into Cali and call it a day. It brings so much unnecessary inconvenience.

My kids and I liked to eat/ order from here because the quality is there and the price is ok. Tonight the quality is low. There was hardly any butter garlic sauce on my fish which makes it taste dry. They use yo cover the fish with the sauce. They changed the kids chicken tenders and it’s processed chicken not the real chicken. My kids didn’t eat it. My daughter said it was mushy and she knew it wasn’t the same. She said the loved the chicken meat that’s real. They also forgot my husband’s side kale slaw. Gosh I felt so sad and I don’t spent over $90.

No Apple Pay/forces you to create an account/doesn’t allow you to sign on with other logins (single sign on).

App works well/easy to use beyond those VERY questionable omissions.

I don’t want to enter payment information when I have it in my wallet. I don’t want to save a card on file for some random app. I don’t want to add my name for an account when I am using a phone that has that information already set up.

The Daly City location is great. Always good service and even better food.

However, Cali needs some work. You can’t look through the menus without picking an order time. You also can’t pay with a Gift Card and Credit Card. (We bought a gift card because we love this place and they had a promo but if your order is more than the gift card it won’t work)

In a future update please allow a customization request field or make specific ingredients customizable.

I’m personally referring to this hot red sauce used in some dishes like the ahi poke bowl. I either have to call my order in or order in person to have this on the side, which means I'm not using Cali . Sometimes I have luck typing my request in the customer name field but it’d be nice to order with confidence knowing my request will be seen. Thank you 😋.

I really love the simplicity of Cali , and can only think of a few things I would change (i.e. a menu). But I really hope that the developers add the ability to pay through ApplePay, I don’t want to put my credit card number into an app.

So I’ve ate here twice since the restaurant has been open and everything has been excellent. We ordered the white fish and salmon combo along with the seared ahi tuna along with delicious Brussels sprouts and cauliflowered rice. We ordered the poke appetizer and this was tasty too. Nothing was fishy which equals fresh”yay”! Plus the prices are reasonable. So the next time you want fish in Bako. I recommend you check them out.

I have been a long time customer of this brand. The food is always great. I was delighted when I found out they had such a beautiful photo forward app!

Since I discovered CFG. It’s by far my favorite eatery! I’m never disappointed with the quality, service or taste of my meal. One request though; please bring back the citrus lime tilapia!!! It was soooo good! Either way, you have a customer for life!

I love this place and eat here everyday and when Cali works it’s great! Key word here is “when” because it probably works 50% of the time and the other 50% it always glitches in Some stupid way. It’s been 6 months same issue! Fix thit app!
