MyNM is supposed to help with communication between a doctor’s office and patient, instead it creates an even bigger bureaucratic bottle neck than is already taking place at Northwestern Fertility Clinic. My experience has been that I have several extra steps each time I need to connect with the office: logging in each time (no ability for facial recognition), having a limited amount of sender options (I can’t email a nurse directly, only my doctor but they never respond directly), unresponsiveness (sometimes I have to wait days for an urgent question to be answered) and runaround from the office (when I call the office they tell me to send a MyChart message) and when I send a MYChart message I see that someone has read it but not responded.

MyNM does have some good UI elements: easy to find the message, billing and results sections. The bones are there for it be a great app with a little consideration for the patient experience. I don’t have insight into what the doctors and nurses see on their end, but it seems like there could be some better designs in place to help connect the two sides. Get a UX expert, it’ll be well worth it and save a lot of time, frustration and patient retention.

Very disappointed these past couple of weeks. I’ve spoken to a lot of nurses who also have said their patients are having trouble with Labs and Test Results not posting. You used to release and post the results right away, now it’s been almost 8 days where I still cannot see all my results. Very frustrating. Dupage Medical Group posts them the very next day when available. I called MyChart help desk but they blame it on the doctors not releasing the results but this isn’t accurate. My doctors tell me the results right away and it’s my right to be able to see my results in MyChart in a timely fashion. Many people are complaining. Not sure what is going on these past two weeks but so frustrated. Please fix this issue.

There’s a push to use mychart and to use MyNM . What isn’t clear or explained is that letters from reports are not viewable on MyNM . If you open a letter, it is blank; however, it states that you viewed it. Tech support told me to view it “on a different browser.” I’m on MyNM . I was told they understand that but to access the document from the computer. Okay. Great. Now why isn’t THAT stated anywhere on MyNM ?!? Documents (letters) can only be accessed by a computer. There’s other issues with MyNM but it’s helpful for appointment reminders.

I do not see any way to set up finger recognition. More important, I have been waiting for a TEST RESULT of a test I had over a week ago to be posted, and it has not been posted yet. My doctor said it would be “automatically uploaded” after 3 days. To make matters worse, there is no way within my own chart to contact MY NM and ask where the test result is. My only recourse is to write you all and ask why my test result has still not been posted and who I can contact about the problem. I am disappointed and frustrated. This is a test which is critical to my healthcare.

Ever try to schedule an appointment with NM? It’s not fun. Two day turnaround time between messages does not demonstrate caring. It’s not possible to get through to your doctors office to schedule directly or to talk to anyone. The NM app and systems demonstrate they care more about efficiency and money than they do about patients.
You would think you can actually schedule an appointment using MyNM but you can’t. You send a message and then someone messages you back. How about a call or at the very least a text within 24 hours? Come on, this is healthcare. Put the care back in it!

I think it would be really great to be able to schedule my own dr appt via MyNM so I didn’t have to wait on hold, repeat personal information multiple times, and could see more than one option for an appointment time, but even when I selected “basic annual checkup” which MyNM supposedly can schedule, it still said I had to call. And now I’m still waiting on hold 30 mins later… Please add greater functionality to schedule appointments, or provide users with the reason the schedule function threw an error.

I’m finding several things about MyNM that are frustrating. I use this for myself as well as my elderly parent. It would be so helpful if my login information would pop up automatically. It doesn’t it sees my name and then when it comes time for the password it doesn’t automatically fill in. I have face ID on. As the person who has legal access to my mothers account it would also be helpful if I did not have to keep signing out of my account to be able to sign into her account. And finally when sending messages you have clothes at the top right corner where in my mind that would be the send button. It is frustrating! I’ve drafted several messages only to close them.

I have diabetes. My doctor requests that I send my readings to his office, but I can only attach an image or a video to a message to my doctor. My meter is connected to my phone and creates a PDF file to forward to my doctor and I thought I had done this in the past through MyNM,but I can no longer attach a PDF file to a message to my doctor.

Even more problematic is in the billing area. I participate in a Flex Spending Program through my employer. When I submit claims, they require documentation which is submitted to them in the form of a PDF file or a picture of the bill. I am unable to upload the invoice with the necessary details and thus cannot get reimbursed for these expenses. It would be so nice to print the statement and take a picture or upload a PDF file that I could forward to my benefits manager.

Northwestern Medicine has converted immediate cares into Primary Care health 2.0. Now you need to make a reservation when you throw your back out to try and beat the people going in for blood work. Totally defeats the idea of “immediate” care but oh well. MyNM constantly crashes when you try and make a reservation for an immediate care. Also crashes half the time when trying to click on the location. It’s almost as if they are trying for force you to pay more money to go to an emergency room to get medicine. Funny how things come full circle. Urgent cares were made to help with overcrowded waiting rooms in the emergency room and now things are so complicated for immediate cares that it’s just easier to go to an emergency room. Maybe Northwestern Medicine has become too big for its own good.

It’s not that well organized and hard to find information. There’s a top-level category called “My Health” but isn’t the whole app about my health? No clue what’s in there until you go into it and look all around. Looking for test results or doctors’ notes, some you can get through My Health, some through appointments, some through Messaging, some through Covid Resource Center, so you pretty much have to go through everything in order to find what you are looking for.

There used to be a very convenient feature to graph your test results over the years so you can visually see how things are changing and check into those changes in greater detail. That seems to be gone now, unfortunately.

Drop down menu and back arrow (<) are slow to respond. They are placed too close to each other making it difficult to either go back a page or access the menu from the current page. The Share My Record instructions are different from the actual steps to access this feature. The Disability Accomodation survey does not contain a “none needed” selection so it always displays as unfinished.

MyNM has some nice features and it provides a convenient place for communications, test results, and appointments. But there are some real annoyances. They seem to only expect you to contact them via phone; no email option. No way to give feedback on MyNM itself. Let me give you suggestions if you want to improve! I tried to find a physician via MyNM but it ended up not really being supported, and it seemed like nobody ever tested the scenario. You can’t forward messages: I don’t manage my communications in your app, even if you think I should. No way to export test results. Again give me access to my own information rather than locking it in your limited app. You’re not the world: try to be play with others. And support email!

I can’t get some notifications to go away. Paying through MyNM does not always work. I’ve had several payments bounce back and now need to be re paid. Not user friendly for changing address or insurance. Can’t remove a physician I don’t go too off my team. It is easy to send and receive messages with my care team. Also easy to share my patient history with other physicians. Like that I can see my visit summery any time.

MyNM is good and it’s nice to have all my medical info and record of past doctor visits in one place. But where is the feature from My Chart where you can compare all your past lab results in one graph or even chart your results? I find that a very helpful feature and am very disappointed not to find it available in MyNM .

You can’t ask questions or reach any “care team” members unless they add themselves to your care team. For example, they make a big deal about nurse navigators but I have no idea who mine is and whoever it is isn’t in MyNM . I talked to a genetic counselor once and she put her info in there but she was the only one I could contact despite having surgery for cancer of all things. MyNM could be great if staff is required to add themselves or if patients could add people they meet with.

It's a good app in general, making it easier for the patients. Thanks.
But found a bug today after I scheduled an appointment via phone and then tried to save it in my iPad calendar. I tapped the Add to Calendar, selected the include details option. Everything was fine until I tried to change my calendar type from the default to a custom one. It crashed. I repeated the op several times, it blew up everytime. I ended up with saving it first and then went to the Calendar app to adjust it, then it worked.
Hope you could fix it.

MyNM is much easier to use that the last one, and I love that everything is the same shades of purple. And that everything is big! My boyfriend has MyNM too, on the old MyChart by Epic he had an option to “Track My Health” he’s diabetic and this is how his doctor was able to track his numbers. This new app there doesn’t seem to be that option. It would be much easier if it was just in the new app, so he wouldn’t have to go back and forth between both apps.

When sending messages to providers, or office staff, the screen has the “close” button in the same location as the “Send”button is located in the iOS email app. Incidentally, whenever I type an email to my provider, I accidentally, and on autopilot, automatically press the “Close” button,. This, I am forced to retype the entire message because I’ve closed the message, and there is no autosave. I have to start over 😢

Thank you for the upgrades you have made over time. I am generally satisfied with the function of MyNM . However, I use my iPad with an external keyboard, but MyNM will not view in landscape position, therefore I must type with the screen facing sideways.

My mother needs the larger built-in keyboard on her iPad when it is in landscape position, because her fingers are not as agile as they once were, and at 93, she gets extremely frustrated by this situation. She manages MyNM without a problem, but the keyboard situation needs to be resolved.

UPDATE: Deleted and reinstalled MyNM . Everything seems to be working now.

After most recent app update for iPhone, the Messaging feature in the Dashboard stopped working. When selected, it should list all messages between you and providers. Now it’s a blank page with words “Please select one” and nothing else. Fortunately, the messages feature is still available on NW MyChart webpage, but that’s a hassle when everything previously worked well in MyNM .

While MyNM shows the main functions that the My Chart app did ( test results, appointments etc. ) the new app has destroyed the old app’s ease of use. I have an iPhone XS Max. Even though I have set up both Face ID & Passcode, neither actually work. MyNM always forces a sign in with the full sign in name and password. Supposedly MyNM uses Location Services but when you try to set it up it doesn’t work. MyNM doesn’t add any features that the My Chart app didn’t have and entirely removes the old app’s ease of use. Please either fix this or allow us to use My Chart again!!

It’s not optimized for iPad use, only for iPhone. Takes forever to figure out how to navigate. Came across the LOGOUT feature and then could not find it again. Previous app was much more intuitive. Keeps saying I have a message or info under billing but nothing there. It lists my iPad twice, but after I deleted one, had to reset all settings again where it then again listed my iPad twice under devices. I feel annoyed while using MyNM versus quickly getting to the info I want.

My biggest complaint is it doesn’t allow for landscape mode, just portrait. I use it most the time on my iPad so this is a huge inconvenience. No shortcut for signing in also since they did away with the pin option. Why is it improvements are rarely better? I’m going to do whatever I can to avoid using MyNM. Hopefully they will find a better developer.

MyNM is fine for getting medical info, but falls short when paying bills. On my iPhone 7 running iOS 13 part of the bill payment entry page gets cut off making it impossible to complete the bill payment process. MyNM does not have a link to request customer service (neither does the site) so I’m stuck paying bills from my laptop. It’s not the end of the world but it is a hassle and inconveniences me.

I loved the old app MyChart for when I have blood work done it was released to my chart before I ever saw the dr. Normal blood work 2to3 days. Now I have to wait for the dr to release (when he feels like looking at it) it get it. Witch could be 5 to 10 days. This is not in the best interest of the patient. I find things that even the best dr will overlook. But with my conditions are very relevant. I believe I should have as much right to my information as the Dr does. And I beleave this is covered under the privacy act. Not worth the time for me.

I have turned both FaceID and passcode features on, and yet, the only way for me to log in is to enter my user ID and password.

Reply to developer: There is no option to save my userid to enable automatic FaceID login. Please download MyNM in an iPhone XS and walk through the steps of setting it up. You will observe other issues as well (such as enabling location services)

I notice that I have access to additional information if I log on to MyChart over the web. I often receive text messages from NWM indicating that I have new test results or a message or questionnaire from a provider and these are typically not available using MyNM .

Unlike MyChart where I can log in with Face ID or fingerprint on older iPhones, we have to put in the password everytime you want to log in the this app application. Hoping that this feature would be added in soon, but until then I’ll still be using MyChart for convenience since both offer the same features anyway

I love that I can look at all of my associated test results and Dr communications in one place. However, I do have a beef with the application. When using the application on the iPad Pro with the keyboard active it doesn’t rotate. It would be very user friendly if it would rotate for readability.

As someone who is at the hospital frequently for tests and appointments MyNM makes everything so easy. I do have one suggestion. For appointments it would be great to list the downtown building name in addition to the address. I forget half the time if I am going to Galter, Arkes, etc. and it would be really helpful to have that in addition to address and floor number.
