In LA Uber and Lyft have gotten so bad… long wait times, stressed out drivers … I was about to decide to start driving again (for the past year I’ve only been using ride share) but then this Instagram ad showed up and I tried it … clean cars, nice drivers … and for me personally I used to really get so sick of the gross chemical air fresheners the Uber/Lyft drivers use … all this app cars are freshened naturally they smell great without the chemical residue stinking up your clothes … also you know how some Uber black cars show up and smell like cigarettes ? Not here … so perfect thank you !

A no for me

I became a member to try something new-I’m always traveling and don’t drive so I try all the apps. Alto in particular has a lot of problems for me. It’s not just about the car, and “vibe”which is great. I love the option of putting on “do not disturb.” But Alto has many issues. First of all there’s no way to contact your driver. So if you need to cross the street, or reach them for any reason you’re not able to. That just doesn’t make any sense. Secondly, after five minutes of wait time, they charge you. This must be how Alto makes money. Because you can’t contact your driver, the time that you spend trying to look for them and figure out where they are you’re being charged. There also is an 18% service charge. I’m all for tipping my drivers, but 18% shouldn’t be included automatically. They should also let you know that there is a service charge before you book the ride.

I’ll stick to Uber. They’ve figured it out.

Membership is a rip off! Pre book doesn’t work!

I was a loyal customer with a membership for a year. I recently pre booked my ride in advance. I checked the Pre booked rides in the mobile app and it shows nothing is scheduled. I could have missed my flight if I didn’t confirm this. The support likes to imply I don’t know how to pre book a ride and it’s all my fault. I ended up pre booking my ride with Uber for more than 50% off what this app wanted to charge me. Just because you’re a member doesn’t mean you will be able to use any of the benefits of booking your ride in advance. I’m going to cancel my membership and join the Uber membership instead. I got an email and text confirmation from Uber. I didn’t get any of that with this app. I can tell this app is more concerned about growing their business instead of providing good customer service with their customers and members.

Frozen App, Missing Drivers, Drivers mucking about

At first, this ride service may seem like a shinier, better version of Uber or Lyft. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Don’t be fooled by the cool logo. I booked a prescheduled trip for my mother, and nobody showed up, texted, or called. After nobody showed up at the time slot, I ordered a new car to pick her up. The driver on the map seemed to have no idea where he was going, and also seemed to stop at a Starbucks and a Chipotle on the way on little side streets, and was not proceeding to pick her up. Meanwhile, Alto kept freezing, and I had to refresh it multiple times. The diver did not answer his phone, so after about 20 minutes of this, I canceled and got her an Uber. Now, Uber’s not always great, but they have come about 95% of the time, unlike this app. Will not be using this service again.

The Ritz of ride sharing

this app is the Ritz Carlton of ride sharing and its competitors are the dilapidated Holliday Inn. this app provides a truly elevated experience; from the comfort and cleanliness of its cars, to the professional drivers, to the sleek app. I’m reminded of how much I love this app when I travel to another city and have to take a competitor offering, when the cars smell bad, are filthy, have no shocks, and ask for a 5 star rating at the end of an awful experience. I don’t blame the entrepreneurial drivers of these competitors - am sure they wish this app was an option. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Alto is my go to

this app is my go to, the only rideshare I will use. I’ve been using them for a couple of months now and it is always a fantastic experience. Cars always clean, super friendly drivers, charging cords, water… I always feel like I’m getting a VIP ride. Their customer service is also top-notch. I requested a ride that could not be met during high demand and within minutes they sent me a text with a credit to use on my next ride. I highly, highly recommend them.

Unable to cancel account or dispute membership charge

After my first experience using this app was beyond horrible I honestly thought I was done with this products. I made sure that my membership would not be continued and was still within my 30 days and deleted Alto directly from my phone.

This morning I just got an email saying I was charged $13 for their monthly membership and not only do they not have a support line dedicated to membership issues there is no way for me to dispute this, just eat the $13 charge and remove Alto . I am beyond frustrated with Alto and really do hope no one is going through the same things that I have to go through.

Use Waze PLEASE

After using this app for the first time during Houston Rodeo, I’ll stick to Lyft/Uber. The luxury of the ride did not outweigh the difficulty getting to our destination since the drivers are instructed to use a GPS app that does not provide up to the minute traffic updates and accurate routes. Because of this, we were extremely delayed and experienced unnecessary sitting in traffic which was avoidable and very frustrating. We ended up ditching the car and walked to our destination. Update your drivers to use Waze and I’m happy to call this app again.

Alto is my new favorite ride share service

I used this app in Dallas previously when visiting friends but I was thrilled when they expanded service to DC! So far every ride I’ve taken in DC has been wonderful! I love the service and types of cars in their fleet. I’ve literally been telling everyone I know in DC to join because it’s that great.

I would say it is slightly more expensive than Uber but with the nicer cars and improved service it’s 100% worth it to me

Better than anything else out there

this app is the car service for today and more importantly, for tomorrow. App-based like we all know and love but rooted in service that feels personalized and lux.
Why did we ever think it was okay to get into a random smelly car with a stranger? Thanks for breaking my bad habits and reminding me that safety is part of what we all pay for.
Take my money this app, you have a customer for life.

0 Stars for Alto! (And I never even got to ride with them)

I chose this app because of their class and background checked drivers. However, I didn’t even get a chance to ride with them. Why you ask? Because on a very not busy Sunday at Lovefield, I booked my ride which was scheduled to arrive at 3 PM. After FIVE driver changes later and no one arriving by 3:15, I called and spoke with customer service who was not helpful at all. She told me that my driver was on the way, but the drivers continued to change and the ETA for my pickup kept getting longer and longer.
I canceled my ride and got an Uber in 4 minutes.
this app is a waste of time and money. I’ll never use them!

I have had incredible experiences with this app so far! The cars are always on-time and clean, and the drivers have been super friendly and drive safely when getting me to my destination. I also love the “Do Not Disturb” function when I need to make a call during my ride or I just want to sit back and relax. I highly recommend everyone download Alto. I won’t use anything but this app when I’m grabbing my next ride in Dallas!

Best car service!!

We have been so happy with our this app experiences. We originally signed up for the feee trial and immediately went to the monthly membership. Just recently we changed and signed up for the 6 month membership. The cars are always clean and the drivers are so professional. We have had Robert a few times and he is also so polite and nice to talk with! Keep up the amazing service!!!

Bad UI and service

There’s a lot of room in the marketplace for an improvement in quality and service and reliability for Uber and Lyft. So I was excited for this app and gave it many months of effort. But their customer service is lacking. They routinely have tech failures. I’ve waited up to an hour though every ride is estimated at 15 minutes. I’ve pre scheduled rides that showed up remarkably late on two occasions because the tech didn’t dispatch the driver. Alto disallows text shortcuts and doesn’t record locations, meaning you have to do more manually than an app should require. I do not recommend.

Alto for the win!

My friend introduced me to this app and I’m never going back to Uber. I love how I know what car I’m getting, the free water and charger, the “do not disturb” for those conference calls, how I can pick my own vibe, and the drivers are employees of this app. Because they are employees I feel 100% safer and they all love working for this app.
If you are in the dfw area, highly recommend this app over any other service. You won’t regret it.

First Class

this app offers the best possible experience when it comes to making someone else drive for me! I can choose if I feel like being chatty or not with the “do not disturb” option. I can always count on a clean car and a professional driver....plus a tiny water bottle!!!!! I can not recommend this app enough. I’d give six stars if I could.

Bad business practices

While I want to be able to support an alternative to the legacy rideshare platforms, this app has plenty of bad business practices when it comes to their customers. They do not honor promotional credits and they are not transparent about terms of use. Their customer support is nearly impossible to reach and don’t act professionally. I’m not only speaking from personal experience as friends of mine have also had similar issues. I would not recommend using this service until they fix their practices.

Horrible, horrible, unprofessional, glitchy.

Will never use again. If I could rate 0 stars I would. App glitches often and causes all sorts of issues, including drivers being reassigned last minute leaving you stranded. Got charged multiple times for rides I wasn’t in. Supervisors seem uninterested in actually problem solving. Customer service simply tries to through more free credits at you without any tangible solution to make up for providing bad experience. Will be deleting my account. Avoid at all costs.

An upper echelon of Uber/Lyft

I, as everyone else probably was, had questions about a start up trying to compete in such a brutally competitive industry. this app re-wrote the definition of what ride-share should be. Every driver is extremely friendly, welcoming and most importantly a GREAT driver that knows the Dallas roads. Would recommend to anyone in Dallas without question. Worth the extra $!

fall in love with ride-sharing again

Really love the whole design from Alto to the car. I did feel rest when I knew who was coming over to pick me up beforehand.
The charger was a life saver for me. My phone was about to die. Really enjoyed the whole trip with Vibe Fuss! You guys really need to try this new service out!

I can finally ride carefree!

this app is incredible! I love that I know what vehicle I’m getting in, I can have my phone charging, water and an umbrella to take if it’s every rainy. I can also feel safe knowing there are cameras in the vehicle! There is a membership fee but that is because they take care of there drivers so the drivers take care of you!

Exceptional Experience with Alto

Recently took my first this app ride and it couldn’t have been better. Super clean car that was easily identifiable, very nice driver, and app works flawlessly. There is a minimal monthly fee, but otherwise I compared rates with other ride services and they were almost identical. this app will be my go to ride company going forward.

Great service

I’ve recently started using this app and, so far, I’m loving it. The drivers have been very professional - and the “this app” branding on the side of the car makes spotting my pickup easy. The “do not disturb” feature is great. After some not-so-great experiences on Uber and Lyft, I’m really liking this app. I plan to keep using them.

Great App and Service Model

I have been using the this app app for a few weeks now. It has a clean, user-intuitive interface and works very well in alignment to the car service I receive. As the company scales, enhancements are needed to Alto which include ride history, receipt logging, and a clearer business profile including expensing features.

Uber who???

this app is the way to go. Clean, comfortable and safe! I will use for myself and my teen age daughters. I would never feel safe sending my girls in an Uber or Lyft.
