Perfect App for Coparenting

Before being a coparent, I would never have realized all the complexity and nuance involved. Whether it is having an atypical custody schedule (which I do), needing to share photos, lists, dates and information on my son’s events, coparenting is the sum total of a whole bunch of tasks and coordination. A friend of mine told me about this app, so I have it a try and I can say that WeParent, which is better than any other I’ve tried, does an excellent job of being the one-stop “command center” for all aspects of coparenting.

WeParent is new to market, I believe, and as such there are a few opportunities for improvement here and there. But, that is the case for virtually every new app that comes to market, so I personally am very forgiving of that. One of the things I like most about this app is that these issues get addressed quickly and WeParent just keeps getting better and better. Instead of letting a bug or two dissuade you, I say that is all the more reason to use this app. It is the only app I’ve used to date that actually feels like it was designed with the complexity and multi-faceted elements of coparenting in mind and I for one want to see them stick around and grow. So, while I may see a bug occasionally, the value WeParent creates in my life far outweighs those small and infrequent issues. I hope the this app team will just keep making this better and better and better.

Not consistent and dependable

I have been using WeParent since June of 2021. While there have been some glitches, I have stuck with it since the developer offered me a discounted rate if I paid for it in full upfront. There have been a lot of issues with the messaging: not getting all notifications, when you do get a notification and click on it, the new message doesn’t appear right away and you have to go out of the messaging and go back in for it to appear. Most current issue is WeParent logged me out for no reason and now I can’t get back on. I have requested a password reset email multiple times and have not received it. I have reached out to their support team and have not heard back. This is my main communication source with my coparent for legal purposes. Not being able to message my child’s other parent during drop off and pick up times has not been ideal. There is zero reason why I should not have received a password reset email. I have requested one in the past and have received it so I don’t know what the lag is this time around. WeParent has a lot of potential but needs a great deal amount of a revamp.

Not Dependable - Can’t Login/Glitchy

I’ve been using WeParent since October/November 2020 after seeing positive reviews. WeParent has consistently been glitchy with one-time schedule changes, event changes, limited automation to pull in saved locations and contacts, and the internal messaging platform. At first Support was incredibly responsive, but after 1.5 years of no substantial updates to reliability or functionality, I cannot recommend WeParent. Most recently this past weekend my co-parent and I were logged out and are still unable to get logged in and haven’t received any reply from Support. I rely on this PAID app to document a constantly changing schedule due to my ex’s work and to record a log of medical, school, and schedule decisions for legal reasons (advertised as a prominent feature of WeParent). I have multiple schedule amendments that I’ve needed to make since the latest glitch occurred and logged us both out / won’t let us login or reset passwords. I’m having to track these in a separate calendar at this point. If I’m paying for this service, I shouldn’t need multiple backups for schedules, messaging documentation, and decision logs.

Has a lot of potential

I love the idea of WeParent, but I do not like how things I upload sometimes disappears. I’m in a high conflict coparenting relationship, and when WeParent glitches and something doesn’t upload or send correctly then it causes problems. I’m not sure if the account holder can delete what the other parent uploads or calendar events (not messages) but I have had issues with events/schedules being changed that I put in WeParent myself. It would also be nice if we had a way to make photos/documents private so we can document violations etc via WeParent without the other parent seeing it. WeParent crashes a lot, I have trouble signing in, and when I click forget password, it never sends me the email. Great app for regular coparent, not so much for high conflict. Ability for phone calls and call recording for kids to contact their other parent would be nice too.

Great App!

WeParent has all the tools necessary to communicate with a co-parent. No details are missed, and no need for extra texts or phone calls as everything is there for both to view. In a high conflict divorce like mine was, WeParent eliminates the unnecessary confrontations. Everything can be communicated in a business manner regarding the kids.

Had some minor issues with WeParent , but the support team is proactive and quick to respond and fix any issues - that’s very rare!

Last but certainly not least, it’s affordable! Compared to other apps that have similar features, WeParent is easy to use, and doesn’t require the bells & whistles with a hefty price tag! It’s simple and just what I need to keep my kids and my life organized.

AMAZING customer support

I won’t get into details, but I’ll just say that WeParent has the most spectacular customer service of any app (or service, period) I’ve ever used. WeParent itself is great. Even if my ex never accepts my invitation to join, I have my daughter’s custody schedule laid out right in front of me instead of having to figure it out in iCalendar. I can input doctors’ info, phone numbers, invite grandparents and relatives so they can see the schedule, it’s just a really helpful tool that makes the difficulty of coparenting with an uncooperative ex just a little easier. And again- BLOWN. AWAY. by the customer service. Elena is absolutely heaven sent!

Best co-parenting app EVER!!!

I tried multiple co-parenting apps so my and my sons mother can adjust our schedules and to see what days we will have our kid and for how long. Because of WeParent I’m able to put my work schedule so that his mother sees everything from my end and she can input her work schedule so I can see how things are for her end. Because if WeParent I’m able to spend more time with my son and we’ve created a steady schedule for 2 weeks now. WeParent does come with a 14 day trial I recommend it!!! After it expired I went ahead and got the lifetime plan.

Not quite coparenting!!

WeParent is great for quick messaging. I haven’t had the opportunity to try all features just yet. The messaging takes a little to come through, so if there’s an urgent message and this is the only communication between parents it’s not the best. However, it is good enough for the moment. I don’t see myself switching to any other app any time soon, this does the job. I do like the feature to add a moderator when the time permits!

Very impressed so far

Just started using WeParent and so far I like what I see. Not only the apps features (schedules, documents, photos and messaging) but also support. I have an odd custody arrangement and could not figure out how to get the calendar to reflect it so I sent an email via the support function. Within 30 minutes I had a response acknowledging my email and within an hour I had another email explaining how to solve my problem, step by step, with screenshots. I haven’t used WeParent enough to say it’s perfect but I can’t say enough about my initial impression which is a great one.

Annoying Pop-Ups

I’m just getting really annoyed that every time I click any window in WeParent at all I have to see the same pop-up about it being a 14 day free trial, how am I supposed to enjoy the trial and decide on whether or not I want to spend $10 a month if I can’t even use WeParent without this popping up every five seconds, it’s super annoying and if I press cancel on the pop-up it logs me out, I have to swipe it down every single time and it’s so annoying, I can’t open the lists, or the calendar, or ANY window without it popping up to remind me what I just read 2 seconds before that. I’ll probably keep giving it a try for a day or two but I’ll be looking for a better app in the process.

Great app and customer service

This wonderful app has helped our family so much. Between the two houses we were constantly struggling with communication and missing crucial appointments, practices, etc. WeParent streamlined all of that. Additionally, when I reached out to customer support about adding a feature, I was immediately responded to. The feature didn’t exist but within days the developers updated WeParent to include the ability for kids to add events to the calendar. Sooo helpful! Thank you this app!

It started off great

I downloaded WeParent after being disappointed with another one. Even though it doesn’t have a call feature and a way to upload video from what I can tell, it’s easy to add others and has a variety of schedules and a bunch of other things that I like. WeParent was going well until it started crashing. They said they were updating it and using a third party service or something. Since then I haven’t been getting messaging notifications and constant crashing. The customer service does respond quickly though so I guess that’s a plus.

Superb!!!!

The functionality of WeParent has been well designed. I have been looking for something that really does everything I need it to do when co-parenting effectively and efficiently. The calendar really allows an accurate schedule for ANY custody schedule. Being able to see my custody agreement, my vacation schedule, my holiday schedule, etc is so convenient that nothing else could be easier. I would recommend WeParent to anyone when it comes to co-parenting.

App Needs Better Development

Downloaded WeParent , then immediately was contacted from developer team about my experience and purchasing WeParent . Was hesitant at first, as I hadn’t fully tested WeParent but I went ahead with the Lifetime subscription, once the free trial ended.

Here is my honest review of We Parent.

Pros: modern concept, ideal functions and features, simple interface and user navigation, and great potential. We Parent could be the perfect app for coparenting, as it sees all the parenting challenges and attempts to simplify them.

Cons: some features are too simplified, not reliable, and poor technical support. I strongly dislike not having the capability to create customized schedules, organize documents and notes, and upload videos. I also have noticed a too constant need for updates to WeParent , that fix one issue to only create another. For instance, after a recent update I lost the capability to upload documents and the support team is not able to provide a workable solution.

Overall app states that it will assist with coparenting, but how so when users can’t rely on WeParent to perform as advertised.

Excited to use

I downloaded the this app App today. There seems to more features avail than WeParent I am currently using. I contacted customer Care with a question regarding WeParent and within minutes had a response from Elena. I honestly haven’t encountered a Customer Care Department that was on top of their game and responded so quickly. I can’t wait to get started using WeParent knowing if I have questions, I’ll have the answers quickly.

Thrilled!

We have a very unconventional schedule and have yet to find an app that we could easily customize the calendar in.
My hope is that the messaging will decrease confrontation and will provide a forum where messages can be reviewed, at a later date. Which is much more reliable than texting.

We are very interested in the fact that the step parents can also view the schedule, in order to keep everyone on the same page.

Once children 13 & older will be able to view the calendar, it will be even better yet! We are definitely looking forward to that upgrade, soon.

The customer support is also extremely quick to answer you, if you have any issues.

This is app is a MUST for coparents and much easier to use than many of the other apps.

Intuitive, Easy to Use and Responsive Support

I downloaded 7 coparenting apps to test out. The main thing I wanted was for it to be easy and intuitive to enter my one-day-on-one-day-off schedule with my ex, as well as easy to make exceptions.

So many were counterintuitive and clunky, or didn’t tell me til after i had already entered all my info that it wasn’t really free and was just free trial.

This was very intuitive and easy to use. When I emailed to say i was disappointed my 1 day on/1 day off schedule wasn't option they responded in less than an hour or two saying that the release would be out in just a couple days.

Fayre was the only other one that seemed like it should be able to do everything as well as this, but it’s literally 10x the price.

Can’t wait to get up and running with WeParent!

Getting Better

There has been struggles with WeParent since it is a newer app. The developers do a great job working out bugs. Unfortunately there is still a glitch that does not allow me to report issues from within WeParent but I do have the support email to send screen shots and bug issues. Overall I love the platform of WeParent so I am sticking with it patiently waiting as some of the updates and corrections come out.

Started off well

Started off well. Several months ago their entire system went down and the functionality never recovered. It is buggy when trying to move or delete items. The notifications have stopped showing in WeParent . After several conversations with tech support, notifications push via my phone but still do not show in WeParent . Support responds via email but is usually never a complete fix. I do not recommend paying for WeParent.

Microsoft Office Integration would be nice

App does what is should on a basic level. It would be nice to be able to attach word and excel documents vs the required PDF format. Maybe I am missing something and my complaint is based on user error. It would be beneficial to attach standard excel cost/expense spreadsheets and word documents that are easier to write and attach in a message vs using the iPad/iPhone keyboard. Again, does the basic job but could benefit from some enhancements.

A lifesaver for blended families

With several kids from our previous marriages, keeping track of everything is a challenge. Thank goodness this app has a family plan for it’s subscription. We both invited our exes to WeParent - and because they don’t have to pay a separate fee they agreed to join. All the other coparenting apps charge per person, but on this app I just need one subscription for everyone.

Good app, great customer support!

We have an unusual joint custody arrangement. I’ve tried just about every co-parenting app out there, and finally found this app. When I had a question about custom schedules (I didn’t know how to make it repeat), I got a reply with step-by-step instructions and screenshots within an hour. And I haven’t even paid for WeParent yet - I’m just starting the free trial. Appreciate the super- responsive customer support!

Everything in one place.

What I really like about this app is that everything is in one place. I no longer have to use email and text and Dropbox and Google calendar for taking about our son with my ex. I just use this app for everything. They just added a few feature for downloading archives of our messaging exchanges. Having an official record to use in court is really useful.

Glitchy

WeParent is almost everything I could ask for the downfalls are
Takes a long time to load calendar, WeParent shuts off when trying to view a days events, wish WeParent would let you see titles of events on the month view instead of colored dots, you have to individually go to each day to see what’s happening instead of being able to have a glance at the whole month and be able to see what’s happening each day from month view

By

Not bad so far

Just got WeParent , seems to be really easy to use. I wish it would translate to desktop as well.

Also in the documents section I wish you could create headers or categories like Medical, Vacation Itinerary, daycare paperwork, etc.

I’ll keep this review updated though :)

Affordable!

This is the only co-parenting app on the market that charges a single low price for the whole family. It’s nice not to have to argue with my ex about who will pay! The last thing I want is more things to argue about. It’s also great to be able to add other family for free. I invited grandparents, babysitters and a mediator, and they are all included in the price that I pay. Nice!

By

Wonderful customer service!

I signed up for this app just as a trial. I didn’t know how to customize my schedule and reached out to customer support. They got back to me in a timely manner and gave me step-by-step instructions of how to customize exactly how I wanted. They went above and beyond to make sure he opted exactly what I needed. I have a feeling I’m going to love WeParent!

Makes my life so much easier!

I love this app! The schedule feature and the fact that I can upload specific contacts and documents for our kids is brilliant. I don’t need to text message or email any of these and it’s all kept in one safe place. I love simplicity and things that make my life easier and WeParent does all of that!

By

Clean, simple design

I like how simple the user interface is. The monthly calendar view shows the parenting schedules, and I can also see on which days the kids have after school activities vs which are free for play dates. My only suggestion is to add reminder alerts for the pickups and drop offs - the same way that I’m reminded about events.

By

Not accurate

I have done everything I can think of and it’s still not correct. Hard to correct an issue as there is no way to verify if it’s a scheduled day, holiday, one time occurrence...it gives you who is on what day and no other info ( is that day a holiday, does the holiday schedule over ride the standard schedule?) If you are trying to correct an issue you have no way of knowing what the issue is. I have completed removed all the schedules and re entered them; only to have it do the exact same thing!!
