Insanely complicated for a 1 time use app

Nobody *wants* to use Flowbirdparking. You use it because the place you park makes you use it, or stand in line for their equally over complicated pedestals. You use Flowbirdparking once and probably never again because every parking lot uses someone else’s app.
Don’t make me enter car registration details and sign up for an account and all this other useless crap nobody actually wants to do.
While we’re at it, why did the pedestal make me go through a bunch of menus when there was literally no other option at my parking lot other than “flat rate”? I should punch in my spot # and swipe a card and go. No multiple screens of details and button presses for what should be an easy process, PLEASE.

App billing Fail and Helpdesk Unable to Resolve

Vacation to NC coast trying to use app curbside parking. App would not complete transaction with error indicating my credit card address did not match. Multiple update attempts then called help. The person answering was nice, polite and remorseful. Suggested finding a lot with payment machine that accepts credit cards. I’m on vacation visiting so asked for suggestions. No information available. Suggested paying by coins but did not have $10 in coins for the expected 2 hours. Mentioned there must be a technical problem as they recently received 7 or 8 calls for the same issue. Drove to another location and used a payment machine. Need to have a reliable app before releasing for public use.

Too Difficult & Confusing

1st, why charge additional convenience fees…that’s absurd. 2nd, your app would not accept my phone number, I had such a hard time trying to use Flowbirdparking. It’s too difficult to pick a particular “circled pin” when the map showed several at my location. I didn’t know which one to pick, you should just be able to use the station’s I’d number or something. After I tried all that, I had know idea how to enter my card number…mind you, we’re at the beach standing outside trying to figure this all out. Pay-by-Phone App is much easier. You should take notes & DROP THE CONVENIENCE FEE! Especially since the pay stations don’t warn you of the additional fees , they just say “download Flowbird app”, like wth.

Can’t set up payment information in advance

So, I’m standing curbside yet again trying to use Flowbirdparking. It’s dark out, it’s cold out, I don’t have my reading glasses, I’m running to an appointment. I just logged in with my Apple ID. Why not accept Apple Pay? You’re gonna make me fumble on a small screen on a cold dark night to enter this information now?

Cut to Sunday… I’m trying to enter all of this information in advance, but it won’t let me. It Hass to be while I’m parking a car. No problem I think… I’ll just burn $1.50 right now for the convenience of having my card entered. Sorry, paying the meters is not required on Sunday, so I still can’t get my card entered!

Terrible customer service and app.

I would give this zero stars if I could. Flowbirdparking told me my session was out of time so I quickly added more time to avoid getting a ticket. Once I paid for another hour my previous session had popped up and I still had half an hour left... I paid for the same half hour twice. I reached out to customer service for a refunded and they said “ I do apologize for the inconvenience, but once the transaction is complete there is no way to cancel, edit, or delete the transaction.” Flowbirdparking has no way to resolves issues. Which is terrible when you have a huge flaw like sessions disappearing so you don’t know how much time you have left. Definitely deleting.

Constantly refreshing and moving map

I have to park my car several blocks away from my work. When I get to my office I open up Flowbirdparking and try to pay for a session. However, when I attempt to zoom out on the map, Flowbirdparking refreshes the screen for new parking kiosks. All expected behavior.

And then GPS drift happens and Flowbirdparking thinks I’ve moved so it snaps back to my “location” which is three blocks north of where I actually and is three blocks north and two blocks west of where my vehicle is actually parked. Then I have to zoom back out and try to select a kiosk close to my vehicle before the GPS drifts again and Flowbirdparking snaps to my “location” ... again.

Please allow us to DISABLE the “map centering/snapping”.

Glitchy and doesn’t allow you to give away unexpired time.

The rate is 10 cents higher than the municipal rate. It does not allow you transfer or give away your time. The meter says expired so the next person using Flowbirdparking is paying for a free spot. Even if you tell the person you paid they can not use it because Flowbirdparking is linked to your register dmv plates. It doesn’t always show you the neared meter. It bundles them into sections so you have to pay attention to what your meter number is, if it even has one that is legible. Overall it is convenient. It takes money away from the municipalities. It’s a necessary evil.

I’m just trying to give you money

But you won’t let me, Flowbird. Can’t update the payment method while parking, can’t do it when not parking. Loop after loop after loop. Why do I try, again and again, when I know that I’ll just give up after five minutes and pray that my car is not towed?

I’ve used other parking apps successfully. I know it can be done. But not you, Flowbird. You were meant for greater things; perhaps tracking ovulation cycles, or monitoring household water use. But not the sordid business of parking transactions. It is beneath you.

I feel your pain, Flowbird. Now eff off and let me give my money to a company that sees the value in exchanging American dollars for the use of a parking space.

Terrible app!!!

I had to park on the ISLE Of Palms at the Windjammer for my kids volleyball game. None of the meters were working. Every card was declined. So I put in change, yet the machine said in sufficient funds. Put in $3 of change. When I saw the sign that you had to download Flowbirdparking , it was not clear how to pay or how to pick your parking place. I missed out on 30 minutes of my child playing. I was able to watch her play for 3 minutes.

I think your technical team needs to go back and figure out a better way to work Flowbirdparking . People are stressed. It’s bright outside and you gave a thousand directions.

I wish I could give it a zero. That’s how awful your machines and app are. Do better.

Not as good as other apps

Our city was using woosh and it was worth the surcharge. Flowbird needs some help. It’s difficult to input your vehicles. If you have multiple vehicles it’s almost impossible to choose how to park. Every parking transaction wants to use my truck as it’s the default. I Choose a different vehicle and complete the transaction but get a receipt for my truck? I try again to choose my Harley and again it gives me a receipt for my truck? Also several attempts to park resulted in a system “error “ when the error was that our city was not charging for parking after a certain time frame?

By

So Far So Good

Reading through the comments, it sounds like users have varying issues with Flowbirdparking . Personally, I haven’t ran into these issues and have been able to pay each time. The one caveat being is the map sometimes jumps wildly with where I am in relation to a parking meter. Letting Flowbirdparking sit a little bit, or closing and reopening Flowbirdparking seems to work.

By

Needs MAJOR improvements

Took me 30 minutes to pay because it kept saying payment error and when I called customer service the representative said there’s nothing they can do lol , try resetting Flowbirdparking or paying online, what’s the point of customer service then if they can’t help. Not to mention I still got a parking ticket because Flowbird and the nj transit are separate so when the ticket agent scans your car the Flowbird payment doesn’t show up paid. So now after I paid money to park I still have to pay a parking ticket . You’re costing people money with these issues you need to fix them on get rid of Flowbirdparking ,

Super easy to use

This was a simple app to set up and there are multiple ways to log in, which is a big and welcome change. Using it was extremely easy even for someone 60 years old. Thank you for this option for not hunting for change and not having to get out of my car to pay or to touch a pay machine!

By

A completely awful experience

Trying to just pay to park, app takes forever to download, then makes you take a tour, then when you finally have finished creating a vehicle, you’re only allowed to park for 1 hour increments, but even then, Flowbirdparking fails with obscure error messages while trying to pay. Then retrying, Flowbirdparking just gives a blank screen for the payment page. Doesn’t take Apple Pay even if it did work. Ended up causing a fight because partner just wanted to pay at the kiosk and be done. Ruined my day on vacation. Please just quit and let another company take over.

Ridiculous app fee

My girlfriend’s apartment complex recently started charging for parking using Flowbirdparking. It wouldn’t be that bad except they charge a ¢35 flat fee for using Flowbirdparking each time you park, no matter how long you park for. Even if I am there for 1 hour I have to pay the dumb ¢35, and the fee is not even shown as you are paying when you park for the first time. Probably the most ludicrous thing about this fee is that you are charged it when you extend your parking session. So if you end up extending your 1 hour session to 2 hours, you end up paying ¢70 more than the actual parking rate. Screw this greedy app.

Lag between payment made on app and payment recognized by parking authority agents’ devices

Today, for the sixth time, I payed for parking on Flobird in my hometown of Nyack,NY. Regardless of my good standing I was issued a ticket during paid time because there is a lag between Flowbirdparking and the devices carried by parking enforcement personnel. I was understanding early on when the town implemented this new system, but it has been 6 months now and it’s time consuming to have to go to the village hall over and over after having paid for parking properly. I think syncing all parts of the operation is fundamental to running a paid parking app. How can this continue to be a problem?

By

I have never used this app and it gone smoothly.

Anytime I use this it always has some bug or inability to finish the transaction. I will select a time and it will just put down another one. I will select a car and it will put down another one. I dislike Flowbirdparking very much. I would use it if I had a choice. Good for you people bad for us.

Quick and Easy Convenience

Love the ability to pay for my parking without having to walk down to a machine and fiddle with screens in who knows what weather and then still have to walk back to my car to put a ticket on the dash. And I can extend my parking without having to go back to the car to do it. Perfect.

Failure to load when needed

OK, it is winter in Tahoe, temp about 25F. App was slow to down load, and would not open after downloading. The optional pay at Kiosk machine was also broken. Total time spent trying to get this to work - 20 minutes. Since it seems to be the only option in some locations I am sure I will have to try it again. Hope the company that produced Flowbirdparking gets some Federal Infrastructure money to improve their infrastructure. It doesn’t seem they are investing much of their own resources to ensure a good customer experience first time out.

Glitches On Location and Payment

I must say park mobile worked just fine for Wrightsville Beach. I never had this many issues! I have downloaded Flowbirdparking multiple times trying to get it to work and pay for parking instead of constantly coming back to pay for parking over and over. Yes I could just pay for the entire time but who knows how long they will stay at the beach when you could just pay with the click of a button. Please fix, this makes it difficult to come to the beach and enjoy yourself.

By

Payment didn’t work

Set up my card and tried to pay. No message just say there spinning. Eventually was able to click the back button then got a sketchy webpage saying it was redirecting but never did. Finally had kill Flowbirdparking and restart. On restart I went through the parking process and then hit an error saying unable
To process payment at this time. Gave up eventually and paid using the parking meter.

By

Working good

I been using Flowbirdparking with not problems. People who are saying Flowbirdparking this Flowbirdparking that it’s because they don’t have idea how to used their phone. Learn how to use and then come to complain!!

By

Makes life easier!

I use Flowbirdparking everyday, I really like the remote extension and the Find your car feature! Has made parking exponentially less troublesome!

By

Great App

I have several app downloaded on my phone and I find that Flowbirdparking is super easy to use and looks more modern than the others.

By

Difficult to set up

I tried to set up app but I got an error message. Also why can’t I input my credit card info when setting up account

By

Too many glitches

Flowbirdparking worked for about a week, then it logged me out and everytime I try to log in or click forget password it glitches. Flowbirdparking would have kept me from missing a lot of important meetings. Instead I had to waste and extra 38 minutes looking for parking on campus 🤬🤬

By

Cumbersome to use

Not a great app. Has option for an email when meter is expiring but not a text option which would make more sense. Can’t add/change payment info unless purchasing a parking ticket which makes no sense and will be more difficult to add while standing in the street.

By

Does Not Work

Upgraded to the new flobird from whoosh. Does not load. Does not work. App is garbage just like whoosh. Is your company going to send me quarters? Is your company going to pay for my parking tickets? I see no convenience here in using an app for parking that does not work. You even charge more for parking through your app. Unacceptable.

By

Horrid

My local town adopted Flowbirdparking to pay for parking and it has yet to work. If you can actually get it to load and actually get through the process without it crashing you get the lovely message that it not available for payment at this time.

Nyack open your eyes and get a better way

Payment options

Why can I add a payment option before the first time I use it? I don’t want to be standing on the street trying to add my credit card number.
Other apps like this lets the end user set it up ahead of time

By

Glitchy app, flow unconsidered

First time I tried to log in it kept kicking me out.

Try to update your credit card and it only lets you do it while you are purchasing a new parking spot. Wastes time and ia not user friendly. Add this to having to pay for parking on a city street and it is just insult to injury.

By

Very convenient!

I love the flowbird app because it alerts me when my time is going to expire.

By

Put “Parking” in App Name

Please consider addding “Parking” to the icon so we know what you are among all the apps on our phones. I’ve deleted your app 2x since the name isn’t clear and I only use it periodically.

By

Janky app that doesn’t work

I clicked extend time, Flowbirdparking showed me that the time was extended. 30 minutes later, I checked again and the time wasn’t extended. Don’t trust Flowbirdparking!

It also logs you out every 10 minutes - so annoying to log in again.

Helpful App

This is a great app. I use it everyday and really makes the parking experience a breeze.

Worst parking app- refuses to accept my Mastercard repeatedly

Cliff Robinson   10 months ago

And another thing! Why does Flowbird leave a folder full of junk in my iPhone “files” folder? And especially, why is it impossible to delete the said file? I do not want an app that leaves an impossible-to-delete folder full of crap on my phone. This is an appalling insult. Please get rid of it.

The worst app and system ever used, customer support no help, never did get it to work, will not be back to Jim Thorp. If this is the way to promote tourism you missed the mark

Catharine A   2 years ago

Rubbish app. Spent ages setting this up in preparation of using at a particular car park. On the day I used it the payment was refused twice. On closer inspection found I could pay directly with the ‘one touch’ with the same card. Worked first time and was cheaper. As I had the ticket as the receipt and didn’t have to pay extra for one. Don’t use the app unless you really need to.

The app won't accept my email to register. useless. (and no I don't use it wrong).

Aisling   2 years ago

The app will not let me add my card details. I'm trying to book a car space for Stena line long stay car park and it won't work. Awful app, makes no sense. I will have to book Irish ferries Instead now to travel as I'm not guaranteed a car space if its not booked in advance.

This App has never worked for me. I have written my city council to please go back to Lanier Parking. My account with Flow Bird has been locked since the first time I have tried to use it. It says instructions will be sent to my email but it never happens (I have checked my spam filter). There are no contact numbers or humans to correct the problems. I give Flow Bird a F-. Now, instead of using an App, I am forced to use the credit card stand which is even more cumbersome. It takes me 15 minutes to park at the beach. With Lanier Parking, it took a minute or two.

It doesn't work, its never worked. Avoid this & get on with your life.

Mr John Phillip   3 years ago

IT DOESN'T WORK, IT'S NEVER WORKED. Downloaded the app from Play Store & installed the app on my (up-to-date, latest software version) Android phone at home, successfully created an account, registered a credit card and confidently set off to use it when parking my car. NOPE - NO CAN DO. Can't log into account, can't use the (cuckoo) thing. Just getting error messages on startup (when it DOES finally stop downloading something after 10 minutes {WHAT is it downloading?}) Tried uninstall/reinstall the app. NOPE. Tried restarting phone, uninstall/reinstall/restart phone. NOPE. Tried shouting at it (NOPE, but I did vent some frustration). Once back at home tried again. All the above steps tried again. NOPE. Tried logging on via my laptop (NOPE). Message on the phone usually says that the app "isn't working (tell me about it, I KNOW it isn't working), please check your internet connection & try again". I'm at home, the internet connection is working- I'm writing this on my laptop - on my working internet connection. All I want to do now is cancel my account, *cancel my credit card registration with you,* uninstall this crappy app AND GET ON WITH MY LIFE. Contact me soonest please. Failure to do so will result in my posting the worst review I can muster on any review site I can find. Yours (very) frustratedly, Mr John Phillip. Skipton, N Yorkshire.

My son had problems opening app, after initially having registered and paid for parking, but then needed to extend parking period, as a result has now received PCN. When selecting “Continue with Apple”, then using thumbprint to open, display shows app opening but then returned to home page. After several attempts, gave up. I have subsequently downloaded app and tried to get app to repeat the problem as evidence for appeal process which it has now done on a number of occasions. I have a screen recording of problem but don’t appear to be able to attach to this post. Also car park signage showed cost being £2.50 for one hour plus 40p for each additional 20 mins. ( eg £4.90 for 3 hours) Flowbird app charged £6.00 plus a 10p admin charge as displayed on signage.

The App doesn't seem to work properly - very frustrating! Keeps flagging up error messages at set up stage. It's a waste of my time.
