Kyla is run by a new software company with no reputation that crosses boundaries between advertising and health data handling. The following are excerpts from their privacy policy:

“We will share your protected health information with third party ‘business associates’”

“ We may use or disclose your protected health information, as necessary, to provide you with information about treatment alternatives or other health-related benefits and services that may be of interest to you.”

“ “Protected health information” is information about you, including demographic information, that may identify you that relates to your past, present or future physical or mental health condition and related health care services.”

There are many other ways they list of sharing your data that require your advance, *written* disapproval to stop.

I had to download Kyla to use for my sons doctor. It only opens when I redownload it! It’s so frustrating, please fix!!

tl;dr: If you downloaded Kyla to schedule a covid test appointment, do NOT waste your time.

It seems like all the clinics around me will offer you a free covid test if you "download the this app app" to schedule an appointment. Sure. So I downloaded this app, created an account, inserted all of my information, only to be presented with a "chat" function that doesn't work! I've tried it so many different ways just to get this "automated" chat function to work and it never works. It'll ask me the same questions over and over again, it won't register my answers, and it's just going in circles. I don't have time for this! I'm just trying to get a test.

I was exposed to Covid and have tried for two days to schedule a Covid test at urgent care. The first time I was told I would need a consultation and nothing occurred after two hours. I opened a new case and was told to expect a consultation within 15-30 minutes. I never received anything further. I decided to schedule directly with my local urgent care and was sent back to the this app app. When I log in, I get a blank screen from multiple computers. (Yes I cleared my cache) There is no number to call or chat function with a live person. The only thing that will work is for me to pay out of pocket instead of going through insurance. Bottom line is they really just want me to pay for my test. Healthcare at its worst

I found this app while searching online and thought it would be cool to do an at home test with quick turnaround. I received the test almost a week after I ordered it (ordered Friday, received the following Thursday) and sent it back on Saturday after testing Friday night. UPS told me it would have to be sent out Monday and this app would receive it Tuesday. So, I took the test on 1/7, sent it out on 1/8, and now it is 1/19 and I have zero results. Every time I go into the chat, I let them know I haven’t received my results and they say to hold because they’re connecting me to a nurse. Nothing happens after that and I can no longer write in the chat. I submitted a support request and am currently waiting for that response but I do not feel hopeful. I feel like just ordering antigen tests at home would be better.

I have to say, I was excited to see a pop-up testing location in my neighborhood with their logo. so, I looked it up and downloaded Kyla . The lengthy sign-up process requires a lot of personal information upfront including a photo of your ID without clear explanation or establishment of trust. Okay.

When you want to schedule a Covid test, you’re required to use a fake chat like interface that takes an incredibly annoying amount of time to complete which would’ve been a lot easier as a simple set of screens you can simply tap through. Any kind of information you enter in this will be completely lost if you exit out of Kyla . It also gets my location wrong, with no option to correct it, and it doesn’t show any of the locations that I literally saw in person today. After a waste of 15 minutes, I deleted Kyla .

Folks, if you’re going to do conversational interfaces, they have to be flexible or you need fallbacks to account for failure cases. Kyla absolutely does not work in San Francisco, which should be a pretty easy place to test.

One of the worst apps ever. It doesn’t even work.

$50 to reschedule an appointment even though there is no one at the urgent care.

Buggy app making patients run a whole mile and having issues sitting here and can’t even get in appointment!

Hands down worst app I have ever used. Half the time you get kicked off Kyla for no reason, it can never verify your insurance info and it freezes constantly.

Lifetime remaining?? Are you kidding me? So off putting to see that front and center. Wildly inappropriate feature.

Was forced to download this to make a “walk-in appointment” and now am getting all sorts of spam emails from this app. Gross to have Kyla trying to milk as much health data as possible from me to train their AI or whatever. Hard pass.

Kyla was required for Covid test at action one urgent care. The nightmare started after using Kyla once. There were multiple tests submitted to the labs using my account. I called the clinic to identify who used my account or it might be hacked. But the clinic told me that it was Kyla generated various tests using my account. Kyla and account are deleted from my end and hope it fixes the problem.

I installed Kyla for my follow up visit, but I didn’t even have a chance to try it as it started asking me a gazillion questions about my medical history even though I was in the office just a day before. Had to call their front desk instead. Thankfully the doctor managed to provide me a zoom link over email.

Kyla is interesting. I started using it for COVID testing but since then it has undergone updates. I use it now for my dr visits at Action and can follow my health on here. Makes it easier to track and manage my health.

This is a great app! I had to get a COVID test for work & traveling & was recommended Kyla. It was super easy to set up an account, enter my insurance information & speak with a doctor to get my COVID test for FREE. Not only this they have so many facilities around the Bay Area it was very easy to get my test completed. The whole process took less than an hour including driving & getting my COVID test. My test results were even sent through the system within the timeframe the nurse had told me. The doctor was extremely nice, took the time to speak with me and put my anxieties at easy during my consultation. While on Kyla I also explored it’s other features related to diet, exercise & lifestyle. This is an amazing app that you allows you to access a doctor at the convenience of your house and because of the this app app we didn’t have to pay anything. I would highly recommend Kyla to anyone needing a COVID test or for someone looking for easy access to helpful information & doctors at a push of a button. I’ve used Kyla more than 5x and have nothing but positive experiences. Thank you!

It’s been very stressful with my kids going back to school and my husband going into the office. There have been many encounters with sick individuals. It’s been wonderful knowing this app is down the street from our home and work. The process is so easy and the results get sent to my phone the next day. I highly recommend them!

Quick, easy and painless.

Overall a very good app! I really like that there are different options for getting a Covid test quickly and for free.
I’ll definitely keep using Kyla and will continue to explore its new features related to diet and exercise. Kyla really does a lot. It’s really nice to be able to get health advice without having to actually go see a doctor. Highly recommend!

I had to get COVID test for travel with my parents and the website I had booked test thru was not responsive. I contacted this app via Kyla , Paul responded right away and helped me navigate and get my results in a timely manner. He was responsive, polite , efficient and kind! Amazing customer service! Thank you!
