Broke again

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly rarely ever lets me update my test readings from my One Touch Vero Flex meter. It tries to sync with the meter and fails. It has not worked since the last update for the last three months except maybe two or three times in the last 30 days, so I know it can work sometimes and is not totally screwed up and nonfunctional all the time.
This has been the normal way it malfunctions since I installed it almost a year ago. It worked OK until the first update and since then every update makes it worse.
I cleared MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly and reloaded a fresh copy several times and that did not change anything.
The data logger that came with with the meter will update the readings in the One Touch database automatically every time I use the meter if my iPad is within range even if it is off in standby mode. The Kaiser app also automatically uploaded meter readings before the first update but has never even worked with any kind of attempt to upload a meter reading since the first update.
Nobody from my Kaiser caregivers has ever asked me why there have been no new meter readings for the last month so I guess it is not as important to them as I was led to believe, but the meter readings are at least actively stored and reviewed by LifeScan who made the meter and still support it with updates to MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly that still continue to work as expected.

Can’t E-mail, Lack of Professionalism from IT

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly worked great in the beginning when I joined Kaiser in August last year. However, considering the service I received this time around, I think I will call my employer and have them drop my coverage because I’ve been given nothing but the runaround. When I try to send an e-mail, I kept getting an error message that says “We’re sorry. Our servers are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later.”

The first time I called IT, they took me through a series of steps (e.g., restart MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly , tried the browser). Nothing worked. The IT professional I talked to raised the issue to a Tier 2 situation. A week passed, no answer and I’m still unable to send e-mail. I called again to speak to someone in IT and gave them my reference number, and was told they don’t take phone calls or go by reference numbers. They told me to contact my doctor directly. Excuse me, why should I have to compromise because you don’t want to do your job?! I tried calling again, and they AGAIN raised it to a Tier 2 level incident. I received an incident the other day from an IT professional named Melissa. She asked me to send a screenshot and asked me a series of questions. It’s been two days, still no answer.

Cranky log in, access issues

Several issues: 1. Cranky log in accepts fingerprint, then suddenly doesn’t. 2. Interface email options are displayed asymmetrically, so it’s hard to gauge initially where to press to just review previous emails, not to write one. 3. Writing an email usually results in a message expressing disappointment that it cannot be sent at that time, so your careful, heartfelt pieces may come to naught. Unless, of course, they get through anyway, in spite of the pop up telling you they wouldn’t. 4. You found an email from Kaiser you’d like to read again? Good luck! As often as not, it may be blocked by a notice that the message could not be accessed at this time. 5. You discovered a typo you would like to correct before sending your message? Good luck being able to see what it is you are changing, as, once you tap where want to write, the screen moves instantly up, and out of sight. At which point, you will need to order a sedative.

Fix the bugs, PLEASE!

Knowing that I have an appointment, I always make sure that MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly is up to date. Ive used MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly for months via my cell phone, I’ve had nothing but connection problems. When I tried to sign on, at times I can’t even connect to MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly . When I do manage to connect, the connection freezes constantly, its very choppy and at times, i get disconnected.

Ive also tried to use my I pad, the I pad is only two years old. Every time I’ve tried using the iPad, the camera and mic will not connect, no message pops up giving. Me the option of turning on the camera and mic. I’ve even gone as far as to delete MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly and reload it and it has never helped. Today after my appointment, I deleted MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly and reloaded it and finally it gave me the option of turning on my camera and my microphone. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to test it out until my next appointment which is two months away.

I have used other services, such as zoom and I have had absolutely no problems. Yet every time that I use Kaiser‘s apps, I have nothing but problems. App users shouldn’t have to delete and reload it every time they need to use the Kaiser app. Kaiser needs to fix all of the bugs if they expect their patients to use the online services.

I choose to be a Kaiser patient I don’t have to be a Kaiser patient there are other choices I can make!!!

Clunky but works

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly works as intended for me. I’m not experiencing any of the problems others have and it is convenient having appointments, messages, scrip and other in one place that is more or less mobile friendly. Yes, the organization of information, test results, and user flow throughout could be vastly improved.

However, the access to info, customization of notifications and other are valuable. I compare this to all of the other insurance companies I’ve had and MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly alone is an improvement.

Clearly the data sets that feed it are intended for the backend med system and not a modern, intuitive mobile UI for patients. I hope this is further addressed, but the clunkiness won’t stop me from using it and being untethered from my laptop.

Stupid login

I’m finally frustrated with logging in. I keep track of a couple of Kaiser accounts. If I log in in Safari it gives me a choice from my keychain. Unfortunately MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly handles logging in badly. I have to get to the keychain, type in “Kaiser” to get the logins to show up. I wish at least this worked the first time, even if it’s stupid. But no, it won’t fill in the password until I do this whole thing again. Really? You should be able to access the keychain in a better, smarter way, and only once. At least other apps can do this. If you are going to remember my user name, why not fill in the password the first time?

Can no longer write emails

A few months ago the email writing function stopped working. All I get is this message: “Error We're sorry. Our servers are currently experiencing technical problems. Please try again later.”. This is a crucial part of MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly that is now useless. Emailing works via the website on my laptop browser, but as timely communication with our doctors is a vital part of medicine, I’m stunned that Kaiser and the developer have done nothing to address this issue with the mobile app. I have tried resetting my phone and reinstalling MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly but nothing works. Only reason this is not a one-star review is that it used to mostly work fine.

Could be really good if they would do user testing/validation

As the title says it looks like only the developer(s) decided what features and how they would look would be part of MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly .
They should add away for RR real users to provide feedback right in the application.
Just one small example: the immunizations page lists all your immunizations in a complete random order. Why not allowing the user to sort them as they want, and also be able to do a search.

I have several other options I'd like to see implemented. I'm sure others userswould have to.

Email not functional

I don’t have any issue with login but had no luck when attempting to send emails.
I’ll write the email body, and if I (accidentally or purposely) go to other section, the email message body disappears, and I have to start all over again.
I learned the lesson after wasting time, made sure to “save” my message, so I still have it when it disappears. Turned out this didn’t work, it still gave me an error message “fill out all the fields” even though they are filled. I give up! I wanted to use app so my photos were easily uploaded from phone. I had this problem more than an year ago but still not fixed...

Great Care; Poor Info. at the Same Time

From direct experience, I am a strong advocate of Kaiser Permanente’s quality and services, except in one crucial area: online connective help. Kaiser is about as non-user friendly as you can get in this regard. Given its core location in the San Francisco Bay Area, why this is so at Kaiser is a mystery. For the patient, the system is difficult to use and not intuitive. Whatever may be Kaiser’s tech history, it is time to start over and creat a system of communications that works for people seeking medical care. I worry about Kaiser members who fail to figure out how to make the system work and place themselves in medical danger as a result. (Even with a Ph.D, I find it all way too cumbersome.)

Good potential, poor execution

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly has potential to be a great mobile app to book appointments and manage my healthcare. I was excited about finally having an app for kaiser. I knocked two stars off because MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly / kaiser website is always having “technical issues” and also, whenever I try to book an appointment, MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly never tells me what time the appointments are. So, I can’t book appointments on MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly since I can’t see what time the appointments are. Yes, I’ve deleted and re-downloaded MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly . Yes, I’ve logged out and re-logged back in. And yes, my app is updated to the latest version. Upsetting!!

Continuous ‘Failed emails’ to doctor

I have a nice set of doctors who actually email and communicate with me through MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly. The problems I’ve been encountering recently though, are not being able to send emails anymore. It keeps telling me it failed, it gives me the option of retrying, and then gives me the failed notice again. It’s been about 4 days that I haven’t been able to communicate with my doctors. I can only receive their emails, but not send them.

Log in issues

The layout of MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly is fairly easy to navigate and I’ve been able to make appointments with no issues though it can take time to see the appointment times available. However I feel the choices are limited as to what you are making the appointment for.
My main issue is the login. I’ve had to reset my password so many times and still get an error message! Twice it happened right after I changed the password! I never have this issue when logging in on a web browser. It’s finally come to a point where I stopped using MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly entirely because I was so frustrated.

Only interested in logging you out

Glance sideways or switch to another view and you’ll return to a popup telling you you’ve been logged out which must be acknowledged. Then another interaction to login again, when it finally does FaceID.

35 new logins required to have one conversation with a Kaiser doctor. 99.9% of my interactions with MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly are that logout/login sequence. No other app, not banking, not personal security, nothing else is soooooooooo focused on making me login and logout constantly.

My phone is my personal security zone. It’s already protected against others using it. Please let me back off this absurd and intrusive security reauthentication to an hour or more PLEASE

Online Doctor App DOA!

Kaiser is great as long as you go to the main Hospital, or to a clinic by appointment. I am also happy with the speed of seeing a general practitioner. However, their tech support and online services are DEAD ON ARRIVAL!! The worst part is that KAISER DOESN’T CARE that their patients struggle to connect with them. They send out gobs of surveys, but then must throw them in the trash, because NOTHING ever changes. MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly is very frustrating to use, is not friendly to IPads or IPhones, and can be easily done without by simply using Kaiser’s main on-line web page. I don’t know what Kaiser does with all our health insurance money, but it sure isn’t spent on developing friendly software!

Slow and not user friendly

It is painful to use MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly. It’s very slow and hard to navigate. The UI is all and badly designed. I had My chart app from previous provider and it had the same (or even more) functionality but a lit more clear. I especially like those “learn more about this test” that take you (after 30 sec) to “we’re sorry, there’s no info” page. What? Disable the link then. And I have the other Kaiser app (yeah, they have 3 that do almost the same thing which is stupid) and it’s a bit better.

letter/s size in app

The letters tab on app seems to meant for a desktop rather than iPhone size screen. Not very functional when trying to get a work release to an employer. Can stitch together multiple screen grabs in Adobe, but why does this have to be do difficult? 😔 Hopefully this will be fixed?

Responsive .. very, very responsive.

The system to obtain appointments, test results, and all manner of interactions is Excellent.
One needs To familiarize oneself to the On-line website. If not possible, the phone is excellent. I’m 73 and have no problem with their clear website. Please note - there are simple ways to send a direct note to your Doctor. Just ask how If unclear. Very nice and helpful employes.

No surgery time info

I have surgery tomorrow. There is nowhere on MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly that shows what time the procedure will be. It has the date and lots of info, but no time. MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly is messed up, it needs to have the surgery times too. Not just the date. I need to be there on time. I need some o be able to prepare. I need to be able to tell someone to be there to pick me up because I will probably come out in a wheel chair. Please fix MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly so that it shows the surgery times clearly and within a reasonable time frame so that people can schedule accordingly.

Crashes every 5 minutes

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly crashes every five minutes during a video call. Both parties have a stable network connection, but the video call locks up periodically and needs to be restarted. It’s not just buffering or a momentary blip; the video call goes from being perfectly smooth to fully stopped, and no amount of waiting brings it back. KP-IT, this issue isn’t just wasting my time as a patient, it’s also wasting your physicians’ time.

Works but . .

Why is ALL of Kaiser’s software so cumbersome!? Everything seems to be best written for MS, when most everyone nowadays use iPhones? And too many buttons, kind of a trial and error to master . Crowded interface. A lot of their customers are Seniors (me included) which should have things a bit simpler for those not so tech minded

No problem

I’m surprised at all of the complaints about how MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly works. Apparently I’m lucky enough to not have had any issues. And maybe it’s been fixed. I’ve seen improvements over time like the recent addition of access to letters, like the referral letter I received for outside care. In sum, MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly works well for me and gets better.

Test RESULTS? BUG: 404

I was making good use of the KP app, but got an appointment reminder with the link to this one.
It does seem to aggregate links to useful info (esp. family vaccination status), but I could NOT view test RESULTS here, just about everything else about the tests. That seems to be just a glitch.
I was able to open that KP app simultaneously using the same login and access test results.

Terrible

I could not connect to my video visit despite having strong wifi and 4G connection! I tried it on 3 different devices and MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly kept saying it was having trouble establishing a network connection, and the website just stalled when I pressed “start call”. I am so disappointed because in the days leading up to the appointment everything seemed to be working fine, I was getting notifications and there was no indication that anything wasn’t working properly. I am really frustrated that I had to miss this appointment.

Finally!

I switch to Kaiser this year and could not be more happy! I have the best doctor I’ve ever had! When I used to have to go to the ER in another hospital it was at least a 12 hour wait even when having seizures. I have never waited more than two hours in the ER at Kaiser. Fantastic!!

Only works for N California Kaiser. Love it!

Many of the low star ratings are from stupid people trying to use MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly for the wrong Kaiser system.
It works great. I can order refills with a few taps and see my results. I can even do video visits for free with my doc but haven’t tried that yet.

Disappointing

Email is “temporarily unavailable” — I have never seen it working. I was able to make an appointment using MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly . I would say MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly should not have been released yet as unstable as it is. Reflects badly on the reputation of Kaiser Permanente because it makes you wonder what quality standard their data systems really are held to. I have always been happy about the in-person experience though. But it’s a bad app and bad PR for KP for sure.

When I book an appointment MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly crashes on the very last step when I hit "confirm appointment".

Bad interface for emails

MyDoctorOnlineNCALOnly is a great improvement over the last one. However, in sending a response email to my doctor, the message would would not continue to write below the third line fro my Iphone 8. When I attempted to scroll down to see if it was below in the email, my e tire message was automatically erased. This happened four times. Eventually I had to limit my message to two sentences.

Thanks Kaiser for showing what compassionate health care looks like! Great app...just tweak the data flow a bit to make it even easier....why are ‘/‘ required in the date field? That kind of stuff. Easy.
