Good concept but rep counts are way off

EDIT: I have now used PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for two months and unfortunately I’ve been getting increasingly frustrated with the way it counts squats and especially push-ups. PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp frequently will count up to 80 or so and then tell me there’s an error, making me start all over again. I frequently have to restart the count multiple times for PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp to actually work. The frustration this causes is not worth it and I will be deleting it.

I’ve been using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for over a week. I appreciate PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp in that it makes me more motivated to move in order to meet its daily or weekly goals. My problem is that even when I’m putting my phone in my waistband or in the back pocket area of my form fitting yoga pants sometimes it doesn’t count my reps. I don’t mind the occasional one or two, but when you’ve done 40 push-ups or squats and it doesn’t count a single one or only counts half, it is frustrating because I don’t really have the energy to do more. This has happened numerous times, and I’ve yet to understand why PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is able to count my movements sometimes but misses them altogether other times. I will most likely keep PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for a little longer to see if I can figure out this glitch, but if the rep counts continue to be off by that much, I will probably find something else.

Worse with each update

I used to absolutely love PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp! I would hit the step and squat counts daily and quickly earn enough points to grab a Starbucks gift card, but ever since the change of making everything cost 10x less points, it’s been horrible. Sure, the gift card costs 3,000 points now instead of 30,000, but I end up getting barely any points no matter what goal I hit during the day or how many I hit within a day. Most times I only get 3-4 points per goal (it’s supposedly 10x less points now, but that’s a lie because each goal before would get me at least between 85 and 110 points). I don’t even think it’s worth it any more to keep PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp, it just seems to get worse with each update.

Glitchy, and Customer Service Ignores You

PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is very glitchy. It frequently does not register pushup counts. At times, it even counts out, then says +0 in the final count, which is incredibly discouraging. It makes me want to quit working out.

Furthermore, reporting these issues to customer service doesn’t do anything. The messages I have gotten back so far keep implying user error and keep repeating the instructions of where to put your phone, despite the fact that my messages detail that I’ve been following those steps, and that it very clearly seems to be an issue with PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp . Jonathan has been polite, but dismissive of these concerns. He’s supposedly been following up on the issue for months now, with no feedback or outreach or progress. Essentially, I’m being ignored, and that is unprofessional.

Update: Jonathan finally got back to me, and apparently the push-up issue is an ongoing thing with the algorithm that they will continue working on. They are also working to hire a customer service agent to help with issues. He did offer a few grit points to make up for missed missions due to the algorithm issues.

Added one star back, still needs some tweaking

8/18 I received communication about an earlier problem, thanks! Now however there is another issue; In the past I could do up to 150 pushups or squats before I was given the message “Great workout, time for a rest.” Now I can only do what the daily target is, 10, 20 or 30 but no more than that. It seems to negate having a weekly target if I’m not able to get more than the daily. I’m not talking about the unlimited option that I would need to pay for. Is this a way of slowing down how quickly users can collect gift cards???

8/8 you ask me to contact you through PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp , however I can not find any means of doing this. In the past the only way I have been able to do this is when I have been specifically asked to comment on how PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is doing with counting reps.

Please give further detailed instructions on how to do this through PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp , thank you.

Suggestion

I like PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp . I like the idea that you guys give people more options of what the can do with their body for movement. Most app just give you challenges for walking or running. I wish the counter work a little better or that you could use you fitness watch for steps.

Is it possible that we could set our number of reps? My upper body strength is on the rise so 20 push up is a little much. Plus I feel like some people think that not enough. Maybe having levels people could pick for reps or exercises they could pick to do for the week. If people complete them then they get point but if they don’t you can take their points.......

Annoyed with the update

I really loved PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp before! But I don’t like the update—pep points seem silly to me. I don’t care about rising up the leaderboard, I care about Grit points and getting closer to a reward (way more motivating!) But now I get like 3 grit points for doing 20 pushups, and 80 pep points. I know that everything has been scaled down by 10x, but the impression I get now is that I’m going at a snail’s pace, and I don’t feel as enthused as I did before. Also the bonus grit points are gone, which I really don’t like!

Update: The new graphic design isn’t appealing. Sorry, but this is getting worse and worse. PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp also crashes now every time I’ve opened it for the past week, so...yup. PLEASE listen to all of the people giving this negative feedback and make a change! I love the way PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp was before, and I know “habits take time”, but it was the perfect balance before. Now it’s not.

Unhappy with the update

Used to love PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp - motivating and felt like you were going somewhere. There were times where the counting (especially for push-ups and squats) was off, but manageable. At least it still gave you those squats and push-ups. Now, it will remove those from your overall count to limit the points you receive. Additionally, now they are pushing the paid membership more and more. It says I have points to redeem, but can only do so with the premium membership. Seems like a money grab to me… I’ll probably wait it out until the next update to see if it gets any better, but am unhappy the way it is going right now.
One final thing that I noticed with also using a Fitbit- the steps and stairs were completely different in the count. Just like before, not the biggest issue, but something I noticed!

I love this app

PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp rocks for a few reasons. The first is that it records all of your steps and challenges you to take movement breaks throughout the day. By checking it at the end of the day, you can get bonuses that can be redeem for gift cards. Second, gift cards! They have redeemed several Starbucks gift cards for me, and it’s just because hi move around and take my phone with me. Third, there’s nothing to lose. Of course there is a option to purchase a premium plan andGain more points which can get you to gift cards faster. I would highly recommend PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp because the fashion movement just like an Apple Watch.

Great idea, but...

This thing doesn’t count properly. It over counts the pushups by a tiny bit and grossly under counts the squats. I did 20 and it only counted 10 (and yes, my husband was counting as I showed him, had good form, went down low, etc). I love PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp and I want it to work but that’s discouraging. The worst part of it is, is the steps. I don’t carry my phone around with me everywhere, I have a toddler and an infant and I need my hands free so it’s often left on my kitchen counter. I set it to sync with the Apple health app but it doesn’t read it I guess? My watch says I’m almost at 4K steps for the day; PlayFitt says I’m only at like 1,300 something. That’s lame.

In conclusion, they need an Apple Watch app. If they have one, I haven’t found it. They need to correct the steps and the squats. Other than those issues it is a great idea.

Great app just a few issues!!

I absolutely adore PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp. I like that every thing you complete can lead to rewards just for doing all the things you were planning to do at the gym anyways. It’s also very clean and you can tell that someone took a lot of time to design it. While the apple has great factors, the only negative is the counting of the squats or push-ups. Though customer service helps you the first time, by reimbursing you for lost GRIT, it’s almost impossible to get the right amount of points you were supposed to get when your squats/pushups are miscounted. If this could be fixed I would definitely continue but doing the work with no GRIT makes me more mad than not doing it at all. Overall PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is amazing though!!

Really great for daily insensitive

I was looking for a way to keep myself motivated on a daily bases, and not by setting a goal to complete a one time event in the future. I was also looking for a fun way to accomplish this. There were other apps, but they seem to only focus on steps.

I really like how PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp does more than just steps and contains rewards you can work towards to keep you focused. Also the exercises can be done anywhere, I try to get some in at work on breaks.

Awesome app, I look forward to seeing what new content the developers will add. Trying to get my friends to join and hop into a group with me.

Love this app!

I am a goal oriented person. I have a hard time with any other apps because they just seem really boring. This one keeps my attention and makes me want to finish my exercises. I just started and my only thing is I don’t know if there’s any more than just that once you start with. I hope there’s other exercises included as I progress. Also 30 planks is a lot for someone who’s never done them and is way overweight. It would be nice if we could adjust what our maximums are and then they would pick from that.

Not leveling up

Getting a bit annoyed that PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is not leveling me up. I saw other people leveling up while I’m having this problem. The problem being that I do the daily pushups and get the grit points for it, it counts my reps towards the daily and weekly goals but the level up goal is stuck in 39/40 meaning I need one more push-up to level up but it’s not being counted towards my levels. I workout daily anyway so I just thought PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp would be a cool fun way to keep up with people and have some friendly competition perhaps. Not working out that way. Glad I haven’t spent any money on PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for my reps to not be counted. Again the reps are only not be counted when it comes to the level up goals.

Nice free app

It’s a nice free app to encourage you to move with the chances of get gift cards. I have not gotten a gift card yet just because I have only been using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for short time and you need a lot of points. PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp does have an in app purchase which I will not be taking part of (one reason for lower stars). It’s also not perfect at detecting movements but then again it is a phone app. Would recommend for people wanting to move more and potential to get gift cards. UPDATE- had to lower the stars because of all the updates to PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp , I can’t update PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp (no space on phone [i have already uninstalled everything but still no space {thanks apple 😟}]. Because I can’t update PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp I can let use PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp which is upsetting because I was getting close to getting a gift card *sigh*

By

Love this app!

I never write reviews but PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is really good so I decided to. Whenever I see an app that offers gift cards or anything like that, I’ve very suspicious and cautious but without ever paying any money or giving away any personal information, I got a Starbucks giftcard (10 Canadian dollars).

I love that PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp offers a most of PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp completely for free so it is still enjoyable without paying any money.

The customer service is also really great. I had a minor issue with a feature on PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp not working and I submitted a comment and I got a response really quick and the issue was fixed very quickly as well.

I would definitely recommend PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp. It is awesome getting gift cards for all the walking from class to class that I do each day. It definitely makes all the stairs I use in a day worth it.

Edit: Pep points aren’t fun

Edit: After further updates, I did see that the amount of grit required for a gift card has been lowered. My main gripe now is just that the pep points aren’t motivating. I like moving up the leader boards, but I’m not going to spend grit on that when I can spend it on a gift card. I wish there was a way to convert pep to grit instead of the other way around.

I had just over 20,000 grit points invested toward a gift card when PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp updated. Now the points system is different and it has changed my invested grit to 2000 but the 30,000 goal to get the gift card remains the same. I’m really bummed because I’ve been working hard toward this and also I don’t understand the new points system.

Last update messaged everything up

Update: app is now working properly at this point. Everything is synced and counting right. However; I’m still not fully impressed with the last update. Word font is much smaller and harder to read. I also feel PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp lags a bit too.
Since the last update it not longer syncs my steps from my Apple Watch so now I miss out on my points. I can’t click into the gift cards to invest my coins. Seems to me your last update was to help prevent you from having to reward you app users for their use and achievements. Planning to uninstall PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp if these new issues are not fixed.

Great Concept, Execution Still in Progress

PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp has a fun design and good concept, but it’s definitely still a work-in-progress. The counting features for all 4 major activities are fairly inaccurate — I’d venture to say maybe 50% of what I do is registered by PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp . Sometimes is counts my squats perfectly, and other times it doesn’t register any. The help articles are fairly helpful at troubleshooting some of it, but hopefully these key features can be made more accurate in the future! I’m also hoping future plans may include rewards for fitness activities in 3rd party apps (yoga, etc.).

Why bother?

It started out great when I downloaded it close to a year ago and very encouraging. Now it’s just constant updates, so many glitches and customer service treats me like I don’t have a brain in my head but at least they get back to me quickly now and are friendly. I’ve explained my issue now too many times to count. My push-ups and squats have not been counted in months because of whatever the updates did. I have tried holding my phone a million different ways but my phone doesn’t register anything at all. Also the new format is not user friendly and just very unattractive, hopefully they fix it. It’s become a place I track my steps with which I guess is something but my phone did that anyways.

This updated redesign warranted a review

I rarely write reviews, but the rep counts have gotten to be such a useless joke and the new really weird design was the last straw.

The Good: The concept is good and nice reminder to take a break from the desk and move during the day. Love you can donate $ to planting a tree instead of to things!

The Bad: Glitchy & confusing accruals. After the realignment of how you accrue points, I have no idea what a coin or point value is worth. It’s an unnecessary, extra layer of annoyance. And now there’s even another layer with streaks. I stopped using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp to count push-ups because it was useless. Squats are a total crap shoot - be prepared to be +/- 10 reps depending on PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp ’s mood.

The Ugly: The updated redesign is just plain weird visually. Prior, things were clean lines and colors. Good icons. It made sense. I can’t explain how much I hate the new design - it’s weird and unnerving and overly complicated. It’s so uncomfortable to look at and seems like a stale website from 1999 trying to be cool. Honestly it’s enough to probably make me stop using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp .

Excellent app for a friend group!!

This is somewhat of a newer, more silly accountability app. Nobody is going to run a marathon after a month of app usage that couldn’t before using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp . However that is not really the point, is it? This is an app for a bunch of friends and family members of differing fitness levels who all care enough about each other to want everybody to be healthier. Form your group, place bets, establish consequences, whatever it takes, but use PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp as a group and watch everybody benefit!

4 out of 5

It would get a 5 out of 5 if the following two issues are resolved:

1. It won’t count flights of stairs for me. I have been in contact with them and it seems like it is an elevation issue with where I live. Not sure this one can be fixed

2. The missing movement detection. I did some of my own counting with reps this last week and PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp missed about 10% of the reps. For some of the bonus grit that is a huge difference!

By

Enjoyable, but issues

I love PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp and I love earning points (or grit in PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp) to buy gift cards, however I feel that I shouldn’t have to have my phone on me at all times in order to count steps or stairs climbed. If it would read it from the Apple Watch, that would be amazing. I’m also having an issue right now from the last update where it won’t let me tap to obtain grit for completing my daily challenges, and then will say later that I already collected and give me the lowest amount possible. This needs to be fixed now.

Crashes every time I open it

I’ve had PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp for about a couple hours, but when midnight came and the day changed PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp started crashing every time I try to open it. It’s a good app and I’d really like to use it but I cannot open PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp at all.

By

Pleased & Confused

From what I can tell, PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp does a wonderful job of tracking steps. I work in a job where I am regularly on my feet & walking or moving. However, I also tend to do a lot of squatting throughout the day to reach underneath counters, Which PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp fails to recognize. I am confused as to how activities are tracked, but it is nice to have the function to be notified to move on a daily basis. Is there any way that the software could be enhanced to detect activity, or is there something I could be doing to better allow the technology to it evaluate my motion?

By

Great...except stairs

So far it works great. Reps for squats and pushups lag a little, but it’s no big deal. The only complaint (making it 4 instead of 5 stars) is that it won’t accurately track when I climb stairs. I have a flight of sixteen in my house. After climbing them over 10 times it only gave me credit for 3. That doesn’t even count the stairs I climb entering and exiting my front door. Other than that, it’s awesome!

By

Did love everything

I loved everything about PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp except for not being able to do an unlimited amount of push-ups or squats for a mission if it is already completed. Then I saw they added the ability to for .99$ for 7 days... I may be ok with it if it was a one time purchase but really? Makes me not want to do any extra at all now

By

Motion detection issues

It is a great idea. But really doesn’t measure movement well. It said to put phone in pocket.... but I don’t run with a phone in my pocket. So it didn’t count my 28 min run/jog.
It also over counts squat, push ups.. etc. I did 5 squats and it told me I did 22??? Not sure when and how that will be fixed. Same with push ups. I did 8 and it said I did 17.

App is still new so. Other than that. Looks good. Needs more challenges with different workouts.

By

Useful but full of bugs

Seems to be a nice way to stay motivated to get moving! However, every time I try to complete an activity it fails. When I signed up it said connection failed. Then I signed in after restarting PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp , and I had an account. Then I recorded some pushups and tried to end the activity, and another connection error. Restart PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp and the pushups counted. Shouldn’t be a difficult fix but is necessary to keep anyone using PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp. From an iPhone 7

Want new updates

I am already an extremely active athlete and start using this as a way to force myself to workout other muscle groups. I have already seen an improvement in my strength in less than a week. However, I wish that there were more workouts like pull-ups/curl-ups and different core exercises like sit-ups and Russian twist.

By

cool but...

PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp is super cool but it would be 100x better if it could connect to a FitBit. Since i don’t have an apple watch I can’t connect anything to apple health. PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp thinks i have 2,000 steps because my phones been in my pocket for a part of the day, but my fitbit says over 10,000 because i went for a run without my phone on me. Please have this be in an update.

By

Needs some work

I love the concept of PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp . But it doesn’t count but maybe 1/2 of what you actually do. My squat challenge was for 30 squats and I did at least 60 for it to say I got my 30 done. And I’ve also went up and down my steps at home at least 5-6 times just today and it only says I’ve done 2 flights of stairs.

By

Great fun if you like to compete but only works sometimes

Great fun if you enjoy competing while staying active. Wish the foot portion actually worked it has stopped tracking steps again. Not even close to Fitbit yet but maybe it will work out the bugs. Still has bugs needs improvement and need to work with Fitbit

By

Amazing just one thing

I love the game and the idea behind it but I wish it would count pushups or squats after you have completed the push-up and squat mission other then that an amazing app

By

Simple to use

I have been trying to find a simple app where I don’t have to spend all the money in the world. This is is free and allows me to me a little more active in my day. It would be fun if there were more exercises you could choose to do but all in all I like PlayfittTheHealthyHabitApp a lot.

Originally the app was okay.. and prizes were good.. but with every update it gets worse, and they even lowered the gift card amount I was progressing towards without notice. Seems like the app is trying to force people away from it

Joanna James   1 year ago

I just began this today and based on the reviews it seems quite glitchy? I wonder if the paid subscription would not have the glitches.
