Like most government attempts at improving performance, this app just adds to the DMVs overall inefficiency. Things were working smoothly until I tried to change my mailing address and got a message that, for reasons unknown, the system could not update the address at the moment. I was given the option to either schedule an appointment, or speak to a representative. I click on the appointment link just to see what that leads to. Turns out, it leads to an expired page. Great: a dead end! I click on the second option to speak to someone. It’s 8 PM on a Sunday and I know very well they’re offices are closed. But I think that maybe, just maybe, the app is offering this option because there is some hotline open after-hours. Of course, that isn’t the case and I’m taken down another dead end. I’d also like to point out that the whole reason I was using the app was because it was after hours and I wanted to avoid the hassle and long wait times of calling (or going in person). But I ended up not able to do anything without either going in person or calling. So if anything, I just added time. And it was time very much wasted

I wrote a terrible review of this App a year ago, but I thought I’d give it another try. I would like to sort through the “specialty plates,” and see if I might like one. Again I must say, why don’t you provide -0- stars? The “bot” that you’re told will lead you right through any problem that you might have should be named Dummy Bot. This App is so horrific that Apple should remove it from the App Store. The State of NC should apologize to the citizens for foisting this junk on us. For many, many years I registered my tags every year on the NC DMV website. It was as easy to navigate website as I’ve ever seen. The only logical reason for NC to require drivers to use this App is that someone in state government must surely get a kickback. Again, APPLE, REMOVE THIS APP!

I need to renew my registration, which because I was in the hospital for a month waiting to give birth, is late. My baby is still in the NICU so this type of stuff has unfortunately been put on the back burner. Anywho- I’m finally sitting down at the computer to pay this registration after finally having the time to get my vehicle inspected and this robochat thing says: “Hey there. I’m currently down for scheduled maintenance. Please be patient, and I’ll be back to chat Sunday August 11.” So now I have to wait until then to hopefully remember to try this again. Incredibly inconvenient for me personally, and it’s annoying that there is a $3 fee when the old system worked fine and was free. Oh, and it was never “down.” UGH.
