Practically Useless

It is absolutely wild that a major bank would offer such an antiquated, clunky, largely useless mobile solution in 2020. I had forgotten what it was like to try to do any kind of remote banking circa 2002, but thanks to the this app mobile app, I can relive that experience. Like a fossil, frozen in time. No mobile check deposit?! That’s outrageous in 2020. While most (but definitely not all) functionality one would expect for remote banking for a business account is available, if often hard to find, on the web version, practically none of that functionality has been ported over to the mobile app. I can check my balance. I can do a few extremely basic things like transfers. But even the one thing it does reliably—generate tokens—is ludicrously cumbersome. Simple functions take 3, 4, 5 clicks, lots of searching, reading FAQs, etc. Just terrible.

Poor Reliability

Not sure what their problem is with CitiBusiness, but I have constant problems depositing checks. I get error messages, red “x” failures or a message to call their useless 800 number so you can talk to the Philippines and guarantee nothing but a waste of your time. What’s equally more annoying is how much time you spend just depositing one check for it to fail half the time. The best part? You have to pay for this service! Completely unacceptable!

The CitiBusinessMobile is by far the worst program we have used. The in person bank makes things easy. For some reason Citi business app is just unusable. There call in customer service is barely functioning as they clearly do not want to fix issues.

Aside from the fact that Citi online technology generally seems to be a recent veneer around what looks like an ancient mid-2000s html website, the biggest issue with this right now is that you can’t deposit checks through CitiBusiness, and that during the COVID-19 situation. A very strong reason to look for a new bank for your business account once the pandemic subsidizes.

Almost useless

I just got an email saying CitiBusiness had been updated but it’s still very antiquated. It’s almost useless for me — I can look up the balance but the main thing I want to do on mobile is deposit a check which can’t be done on CitiBusiness. So I have to log in to the personal Citi mobile version with my business credentials in order to deposit a check. Which them means the personal app doesn’t remember my credentials or ask for my fingerprint when I want to log in for my personal accounts. I’ve had my personal accounts with CitiBank for many years but if I had known how clunky CitiBusiness (and also the business web version) was I would have opened my business account at a different bank. I work in finance and log in to many financial institution websites - Citi Business is the worst one I’ve ever seen!

Useless app, now just lying about added mobile check deposit feature

Amazing that one of the biggest banks in the world has a prehistoric banking app. Did not have mobile check deposit capability for years, and now resorting to lying about new capability in recent update! Definitely has no ability to do anything useful.

First of all it took 2 calls to a representative for someone to figure out that I had to log into the desktop version and set a preference in order to allow mobile access. Once I had CitiBusiness loaded I couldn't believe that you can't do mobile check deposits! Are you kidding me, it's 2020 and CitiBusiness doesn't do that? The consumer version has probably done that for 10 years now! Deleted.

Welcome to 1998, teller banking! Because this pathetic excuse for an app is anything but mobile friendly! Look at your competitors that start with CH!! Their app never crashes, doesn’t require your pathetic tokens, and is super safe for the business and personal banking clients. I write this as I have sent my business banking to B of A and have fully utilized their business banking, while moving my personal banking back to Chase!

Worst App possible

Citibank has never cared for their customers and that couldn’t be more evident with the worst developed app possible. Constantly crashes and is never working when you need it most. I highly advise taking your business anywhere else but Citibank, worst institution and anyone who works there should consider themselves a horrible almost criminal, human being and saying they’re even human is nice.

No mobile check deposit + UI/UX terrible

It strikes me that the regular Citi bank app is great and the business version is miles behind. They've kept on promising that mobile checks deposit would soon be available but nothing happened in almost two years. Plus you can't use the regular Citi app for mobile check deposit if you have a business account.

Cannot load app

I’ve tried for years do use Citi business Mobile and online banking. Today I tried again and CitiBusiness won’t load without location services enabled but there is no this app mobile settings to edit in my setting list where the other apps are listed. Lame!!!!!! How can this be a major bank with such crummy dysfunctional wast of time mobile services?!! Wow, do they even try to use their own products or is this all done mechanism of hell on earth. If so, then Good job. Using Citi bank services is like a weird level of hell.

Deleted and downloaded app same.
I can’t get into my account on app nor on desktop because password has expired AGAIN - can’t view my account unless app releases mobile coin - ridiculous- talked with customer service who then transferred me to a supervisor for temporary password and nobody picked up. I have not been able to view my business bank account in weeks!
Get it together Citibank!
I understand high security but when customer cannot access their accounts it’s time to revise your online banking!

After many attempts to get this going, I had to call the bank to tell me I have to go online, change my profile to accept mobile token. Weird that it was not clear from CitiBusiness . After I’ve done that, I wasn’t able to access my account online through my hard token!!!!!!! Are you people for real?????? How is it possible for a business to not be able to access at any point its account online? I wanted to use CitiBusiness to deposit a check online. This is Corona time and I didn’t want to go to the bank. Well, I can’t deposit checks with CitiBusiness . I’m speechless. Speechless. Unbelievable. How is this possible? 2020!!!

I didn’t believe all the bad reviews, so I downloaded CitiBusiness for my business. Basically the token I have doesn’t work anymore, you have to get a new one. You can’t link your business and personal account. I was advised to log out of my regular Citi mobile app and log in with my business account. But since I can’t link the accounts, I can’t transfer money or do anything between them. Also, every time you log in or out, you loose the FaceID. I hope Citi will improve their service as any other banks. Until then, do a favor to yourself and don’t download CitiBusiness.

Don’t even bother opening a business account with Citi. It’s been the most frustrating, worst experience. The online app is worthless, the desktop online banking portal looks like a website from 1990. It’s utterly useless. I have wasted hours and hours of my life with their customer service reps repeatedly throughout the last several years. They consistently transfer me to the wrong departments, drop my calls, etc.

I opened my this app account because I have privately banked with them for years, and they had been relatively competent with private banking. However, their business banking platform is completely useless.

I actually switched to BofA for my business over a year ago, and the only reason I kept my this app account open was to be able to access my bank records for tax purposes. Now the website won’t allow me to gain access to any reports that are more than 6 months old.

I had to request via phone for them to email them to me... and now I have to wait 24 hours for that request to be processed.

Save your time, save your sanity. Go with LITERALLY any other banking institution for your business banking needs.

Easily the most maddening experience I’ve ever had with a bank app

What a relief that someone else had the same experience as I did. This is unconscionable in 2021. Do they actually have business account customers? I’m trying to figure out how anyone can do business with an app that doesn’t enable mobile deposits and doesn’t automatically consolidate all business and personal accounts and credit cards with the bank into one easy-to-manage interface. I just spent a week trying to get everything together. And I still can’t seem to get access to basic payment programs like Zelle on there. I’m amazed they have been able to get away with this level of professional dereliction to their customers. Isn’t this a multibillion dollar bank? This whole thing has just left me so befuddled. I’m genuinely curious.

Love the ability to access my accounts from my phone. CitiBusiness is a great start. It gives me the ability to do all the basic every day financial functions quickly. Looking forward to future enhancements to make it even more powerful.

Citi just emailed me with (useful) tips on working remotely. I just downloaded CitiBusiness and used my regular login. Been a client for years but never used CitiBusiness because i expected a tedious registration process. In fact was very easy!

The Citi Business app has been pretty easy for me to transfer money from my business account to my personal checking account. Checking daily balances are a breeze. You can also get tokens to log in via cpu. It’s great for on the go business banking with Citi.
