Software updates issue

MyDolphinPlus is terrible. There is no settings button to allow you to change anything. The history button is now gone. Every time there is a software update is just spins and then I have nothing but issues with my robot. The last time this happened it took weeks until my robot finally worked. Now with the latest release my robot runs about 10 min then stops. Tried what they instructed before and still not working. Beware if you have issues with this robot and it’s covered by warranty you have to pay the shipping costs to get it to the repair shop. Very disappointed with this.

Pick me up option removed.

Why did the pick me up option go away? This was one of the reasons I purchased the robot. Please put it back in MyDolphinPlus .

This new app update took away the WiFi features and LED control of my S300. Not sure how to get those back. Can only pair using Bluetooth now.

From Bad to Worse

MyDolphinPlus is horrible. Can’t connect to Wi-Fi. Takes 5 minutes to load. This is unacceptable. Apple shouldn’t allow this trash.

Good Robot, Terrible App

For such an expensive robot we have a terrible app. MyDolphinPlus needs to be shut down and relaunched every single time for it to function properly and pick up the robot. Constant cloud connection issues and I know for a fact it’s not the wifi. I have WiFi 6 Router located in the same room as the unit for the robot. No push notifications when robot is done working or at all for that matter. All around MyDolphinPlus is extremely finicky and has terrible responsiveness. Most of the time you’ll be closing MyDolphinPlus and relaunching hoping it’ll finally work. It’s a nightmare and completely defies the purpose of convenience. There’s nothing convenient about this. It’ll cause more headaches than ease. Very disappointed as WiFi/Smart capability was a main factor in my purchase but they need to hire a new development team that knows what they’re doing. This feels like a abandoned primitive app from the early 2010s, yeah that bad.

Awful software functionality

I have been unable to register my device and unlock the wifi features from day one and now have had the device for a week. I have been back and fourth with their software IT help support and they have done nothing outside of generalized troubleshooting that has NOT corrected the issue. Today, my second time using the robot and MyDolphinPlus will not correctly open at all anymore after the company rolled out a software update... the software says it needs an update and sends me to the apple app store whereby it already shows the software is updated and ready to open. I have deleted MyDolphinPlus and reinstalled it on both an ipad and iPhone and have the same issue so their app is now literally useless. I need their lousy app to perform manual driving function to clean up a section of my pool. I am sending my robot back for a refund because of how poor their software and user support are for this company. If I am having this sort of issue right from the beginning, that is just unacceptable to know what it will be like in a year it two when they release new products and stop supporting whats out there. Maybe they already have stopped supporting their software based on my experience so far...

I love the app but its buggy

MyDolphinPlus is good for the most part, although there are a couple of features that can use improvement
- The delay button, appears and disappears Whenever it wants to, it’s not there about 85% of the time.
- when switching from regular setting to the floors only setting there is no issue, this happens on the first try. However when switching back from the floors only to the regular cycle, you have to do that maybe 10 or 12 times, meaning that if you’re going back from the floor setting to the regular setting, you have to exit and enter MyDolphinPlus , start and stop the vacuum about 12 times sometimes more, because even though it might say that it is running a regular cycle, the time will stay on one hour, which is the time for the floor setting only and the vacuum will only do the floor. The second issue has been going on since I bought the vacuum a year ago, but the delay button disappearing is fairly recent. Im hoping you can fix these issues, other than that MyDolphinPlus is great for my use, thank you

Half-Baked App

The robot works well and happy with its performance. MyDolphinPlus , however, seems like a leftover from many years ago that was forced by product management to “add features” onto an already skeletal codebase.

MyDolphinPlus will connect and the suddenly have problems connecting with the robot. At other times, it cannot utilize the Wi-Fi, but the robot is connected just fine. Multiple phones, a couple of access points and network restarts don’t seem to pinpoint any particular issue. It just feels unfinished.

I am giving up on MyDolphinPlus and just manually kicking off the pool cleaning jobs directly from the robot base. MyDolphinPlus isn’t giving me anything other than frustration.

Won’t Connect to the Cloud ... Again ...

Purchased new in Fall 2020. Worked well for several months. For the last 3 months MyDolphinPlus cannot stay connected to the cloud (most of the time) and the cleaner some of the time. Ridiculous that the “cloud” is necessary to program the darn thing. I have confused support. I received their generic trouble shooting. Nope, my network hasn’t changed. Yes, I’ve reinstalled MyDolphinPlus several times. Nope, I haven’t moved my pool farther from the router, in fact it connects to the router, it just doesn’t connect to their cloud server which must maybe a server that sits in someone’s hime or data center with the lowest SLA affordable.

Two of my neighbors bought them as well. Looks like we are all returning them. Thankfully, I have my trusty Pentair Legend. Was just expecting more from a $1000 product. 😢

Works well for S300

I have the S300, I’ve had it for almost a year. The robot is decent, but there are a couple of corners of my pool it has trouble with. But it’s SO much better than cleaning by hand.

MyDolphinPlus works well. Only once in the last year did I have trouble connecting, but after an uninstall and reinstall of MyDolphinPlus , all was better. Sure, it could use some more polish, but it works reliably.

Some things that would be nice:
- If the vacuum could detect when it’s not in the water and skip a schedule if it’s not in the water
- Allow me to do a longer cleaning (why can’t I do a 3 hour cleaning?)
- A notification when a cleaning job starts / ends

And one *huge* omission in the vacuum itself: the control module isn’t waterproof! This means that, as designed, you have to bring the vacuum inside every time it’s going to rain - it’s a terrible design for outdoor pools. That’s a giant pain, so instead I have a large plastic garbage bag draped over the control module so that I can leave it outside.

Limited functionality

App is not able to push alerts to your phone. Support’s response was - we don’t have it and are not planning on having it.

If you plan on leaving your robot in the pool for many days, MyDolphinPlus won’t prompt you that a filter is clogged or there is any other issue with the robot. You must remember to open it periodically to check.

If you are choosing between Polaris vs Dolphin brand - both are decent robots, with Dolphin models having slightly better cleaning performance. Ask yourself what would you choose as a trade off - bad app or slightly worse robot performance.

For me, the robot performance was more important so I chose the M600. Having used it for the past 2 months, if I were choosing a robot now, I would go with Polaris’s equivalent simply because of MyDolphinPlus .

I know for a fact that it’s not very difficult to enable the message push, and the only explanation I can come up with for their unwillingness to do that, is the cost of hosting relay servers for robot messaging.

Worst experience of my life

How can you sell something that it’s not ready for use, MyDolphinPlus doesn’t work, we paid extra for MyDolphinPlus function and you can’t even use it, connectivity problem all the time, MyDolphinPlus says the robot is on but when I walk to check is not working. This should be recalled and we should get our money back. Never again buying dolphin. Too bad I’m stuck with this defective product. Calling support doesn’t help either, most frustrating experience of my life.

Works pretty good

I’ve used this style robotic cleaner before and they generally do a pretty good job. It’s like a Roomba for the pool. You might need to brush stained spots manually but once clean, this guy will keep it clean.

The one issue I have is MyDolphinPlus won’t work unless you give it full access to your network, GPS location and create an account. I created an account, it found the robot, my location and yet apparently this isn’t enough to register. Now it keeps asking for warranty registration. Also judging from the privacy policy, this thing will collect all sorts of info to send back to the mothership.

Needs work

MyDolphinPlus needs the ability to set your own defaults so it will revert to my settings not your defaults. it is so irritating to try to change the settings for length of time and type of cleaning each time i run the cleaner. i set them and MyDolphinPlus literally won’t change them or resets to the pre set “defaults” over and over again! it takes forever to get it going on the settings I want. my pool requires different than the presets please fix this frustrating lack of functionality!

adding in: garbage on connectivity! i can be standing next to it and it can’t connect over and over again! Useless! Will anyone ever fix MyDolphinPlus????

Very sporadic.

Sorry folks, MyDolphinPlus does not give justice to the system. The robotic vacuum is great! But, MyDolphinPlus is very unstable and not capable of maintaining any sort of reliability. There are way too many glitches associated with the operation of the cleaner that I simply can not see any value in downloading MyDolphinPlus. I highly suggest the developers go back and work out the errors with WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity in order to ensure reliable connectivity. So, save yourself the time and simply wait for MyDolphinPlus developers to figure out how to enable a more stable connection.

Do you take reviews seriously? App is so dysfunctional!

Why would you have customers willing to pay top dollar for the pool cleaner and yet your company refuses to put money into a tech team that can actually create an app that works? All the reviews I see here have identified similar issues and yet I bought a brand new M600 unit this week and have the exact same issues !
App not connecting, even when it finally connected after 30 tries it still does not control the unit manually to get at the problem area of my pool, app is frozen on page multiple times, voice control is a joke, etc. Everything about this experience makes me want to return this M600 and try something else.

No problems

The robot itself has worked very well for us over the last two years since we got it. The also tested very good. It is true that when our Wi-Fi network loses connectivity, MyDolphinPlus doesn’t work. One Hass to go to the power supply and use Bluetooth to connect which happens very consistently. Otherwise, as long as our Wi-Fi network is good, the robot and MyDolphinPlus work perfectly. I am very satisfied and don’t understand any of the negative reviews.

Great cleaner, worthless app

I have used the Dolphin Sigma for about a month now and my pool is sparkling clean. I have tried to get the WiFi working using both my iPhone and iPad, but it fails to connect every time. My background is designing electronics, mainly microprocessor motherboards and I’ve designed Ethernet interfaces and written diagnostics. I’m no novice when it comes to setting up networks and devices. Technical Support has made many suggestions and I’ve tried them all, but still no joy. TechSup wants me to turn off my WiFi password and switch off the dual band on my router. Yeah, right. No way I’m doing that. The cleaner runs fine without WiFi, so we will limp along that way.

Cleans well, app is useless

First day MyDolphinPlus was flawless. 5 days later MyDolphinPlus is useless. Connects to the robot instantly, but has no control over the functions. I’ve deleted and reinstalled MyDolphinPlus 5 times with no change.
Agree with prior review that only reason for the 2 stars is that the machine cleans the pool very well, but the extra cost for MyDolphinPlus / remote seems to be wasted money so far. Very disappointing in Dolphin for promoting a series of functions (and charging quite a extra for them) that don’t work consistently.

Fix this app!!

So I purchased this pool cleaner last summer and it works great the cleaner itself is awesome! But MyDolphinPlus is ridiculous it’s always searching for updates and then kicks out and half the time the Bluetooth and or WiFi doesn’t work! It makes it difficult to use this robot. Becoming quite the headache! Need to research using this robot without MyDolphinPlus .. ugh please fix MyDolphinPlus so I can use all the functions!!

This app is the worst!!

After spending so much money on a cleaner that should be allowed to connect without wifi, only using Bluetooth it does not work. I have sent a message twice to customer support and I get no response. Don’t waste your money buying this “high tech” cleaner. The cheaper one works so much better. The cleaner does a great job cleaning the pool, but the fact that the power box doesn’t have buttons to use as an alternative to MyDolphinPlus is disappointing and MyDolphinPlus it self if even more disappointing.

App Ok, but why no notifications?

Pool robot cleans awesome. App is ok, nothing special. But appears to be missing a key feature - why can’t it send me a push notification on my phone when it has completed the cleaning cycle? That would be super useful; but it does not appear to have that functionality. Or if it does, not a clear way to understand how to turn that feature on.

Worst app for a nice robot

The robot is okay. MyDolphinPlus is horrible. As others said, it loses connection all the time. It’s slow and has no notifications at all. I expected an Internet connected robot to notify me when it’s done or if it has a problem. Don’t bother with support, they just ask you to reinstall, setup a hotspot with a second cell phone???, or blame your WiFi signal. They won’t acknowledge how poorly MyDolphinPlus performs. It’s a shame because it could be the best robot/app on the market.

Your software is flawed

Machine has cleaned pool once. Turned in manually. Have gone thru all steps to connect phone to power source, twice. No luck. From all the comments you have an issue. Fix it

Also, is it true I cannot leave the power source out in the weather as I did with my old dolphin. This is a real inconvenience

I may end up returning your machine to the pool supply company I use.

Could have been Great overall, great robot but very bad app

The robot is great doing the cleaning, but I got this so that I can schedule the automatically and with different cleaning type and duration. But MyDolphinPlus is so bad and no intuitive. It should let you choose the cleaning type and duration when you setup the schedule. And it should let you do at least two achedules a day for bigger pools.

App works once.

If I reset my Triton PS Plus cleaner MyDolphinPlus works great. I can set it up, manually clean, but then after a cleaning if I open MyDolphinPlus again it gets stuck saying updating software. They gave me reset procedures which work once, but then it does it again. Controller blinks red:blue/green. If I use app 1 time and just don’t open it again the cleaner works every night.

App is horrible

Even though I had strong connections to both WiFi and Bluetooth being only a few feet away from both, the set up for MyDolphinPlus kept popping up with cannot finish due to no connection. Both the robot power supply and my phone had strong connections.

Disappointed

I feel the same as other reviewer. Worked flawlessly until it did not. I contacted support and they recommended troubleshooting steps but the robot will not connect to the cloud. I like the way it cleans the pool but feel duped paying extra for the “plus” that MyDolphinPlus was to offer.

Time in the digital age

App works but the latest version cant tell time. Turned on app at noon for a 2.5 hour job and app tells me it will be done by 5 pm.

Doesn't work

MyDolphinPlus won't work... says "update is required" although the phone software, the phone and MyDolphinPlus are all up-to-date. I tried restarting the phone and also deleting MyDolphinPlus and reinstalling it and it still doesn't work.

Works great with my S300. Does what I want it to do. Haven’t had any issues.

I have just purchased the M600 and am having trouble connecting to the cloud . Done everything possible to connect . It did connect for a couple of weeks then it unconnected and can’t connect again . I have to pull the pool cleaner out manually which is why I bought this one so I didn’t have to do that . I’m not happy . The actual pool cleaner cleans great but can get in to the app to choose the cycles I want or to lift it out of the pool . Do you refund if it’s only new ?

Today is Sunday July 11,2021. Last week, I purchased the Dolphin Mercury from Doheny’s. I unpacked the robot and put it into service on Saturday, 7/10/21, registered my warranty, opened an account at doheny’s and at maytronics, and followed all the directions to the letter setting up the app and connecting it to the robot. THE APP WORKED FOR ONE DAY! I now have a robot riding around my pool with no connection and doing exactly as my old dolphin robot used to do, which cost hundreds less than the Mercury because, you guessed it, it didn’t have connectivity capability that I paid hundreds more for with the Mercury. As you can tell I am very upset. I work all week, so unless customer support for this failure of an app is available after 4pm EST, I may be stuck waiting until next weekend before I can get help. I hope that’s not the case, I’m just so upset right now that I can’t see anything positive. Please help me with this so I will have and be able to use what I paid so much for and looked so forward to.
