Nextplus: Private Phone Number Reviews

I’ve been using Nextplus for well over a year now and I’ve always had this same problem from day 1, I can make calls fine, but answering a call has always been a no go. When I make a call everything works great. When someone tries to call me there’s a choice of issues and at least one happens. I won’t hear the call coming through. I don’t hear the call until the 3rd ring or later. When I DO hear the ring and try to answer the call, the call has already ended. If I am lucky enough to catch the call and answer it the person calling me NEVER hears me. A while back I would of felt rather petty to complain about anything because it was a free app and everything else worked great. However, now I’m contributing money to Nextplus and still having the issue with the apps phone. If you could fix the faults with the phone I’d greatly appreciate it. I mean I’ve only been using your app for well over a decade and I’ve never not once complained about Nextplus . It’d just really be great if the phone part of Nextplus actually worked like it’s supposed to. I know a lot of people who use Nextplus would be like me and give Nextplus 5 stars if the phone part was fixed. We ARE happy with every other part of Nextplus !

Do not waste your time with an app that is filled with nothing but ads, more ads and then even more ads you’re forced to watch, then be brought to Nextplus Store after watching as if you want to buy something from their advertisers, just to earn a wee bit of Credit to go towards making calls with this so called “free” calling/texting app. Even that might be tolerable, or maybe it would be worth buying a plan from them if they ever returned emails when you were in need of “support” from them, but don’t expect a response, or even an acknowledgment of any kind if you need to ask them for help with something. They can’t even bother with a “sorry we can’t help you with this” & after a month and a half and 5 or 6 emails even so much and pleading for help, they haven’t even attempted to pretend to give a crap. Like I said, worst app ever. Even more horrible than Nextplus is their “Support”. I’m happy to send proof to anyone who doesn’t believe it. I’ve never been so screwed over by an app, of any category, ever.
Waste of energy, and time, and I’ve run out of patience, I don’t care to go out of my way to write bad reviews ever, I’d mostly say nothing at all but these people are pathetic and I must let them, and possible future App users, esp anyone who would buy anything from them. BEWARE.

For the past almost two years now I have used a number app as my regular number. I love it when I find the perfect customized number! Plus preventing any spam calls or texts getting sent to the number I got with my cellular service is a big bonus! Every so often what number apps are good changes. Currently this app is my favorite number app! It’s as close to perfect as I could ask for. Especially after it updated to allow you to make a account using Microsoft or yahoo instead of just Google or apple. Hopefully Nextplus stays this good for as long as possible!

Nextplus works for placing calls to people that you don’t want to have your number but it says that you can keep the temporary number for 30 days without activity or longer with activity and that is just a pure lie. Every time I open Nextplus my number is gone even if I just used it yesterday for activity and just got the number as well since it lost that last one from the day before. I have had to jump through the stupid captua hoop every day to get a new number to use every day this week. Forget giving it out to anyone to use. Basically it is only a call out one time deal. Earning credits is easy enough watching videos but all the surveys and other offers never work. Nextplus could be much better if it did everything it is supposed to but at least it does half of what it should.

I had two phone numbers but I lost the first one because some type of error happened and because I had not made an account I had bo way of fixing that. So I made an account and got a new number. Had the number for a few days and I’m now signed out AGAIN. I’ve tried to contact customer service for a ticket, nothing. I’ve reset my password like 4 times and now it’s telling something has gone wrong and sending me through the same process again and again. I can’t get back into my account now. Lol, this is like my message to customer service since I didn’t get an answer. I gave Nextplus two starts because, before it logged me out and basically locked both of my numbers to the point where I can no longer use them, Nextplus actually worked and had potential. Moving on to a better one.

Update: 4/6/20 now in addition to the annoying ads thrown in your face, whenever you click on a picture that is sent to you in a personal message Nextplus locks and does not respond when you try to reply or go back to your messages. Reduced the stars in my rating from 2 to 1.

This stupid ad pops up over and over and over.... They ram this crap down your throat as soon as you back out of a message. I’ve never watched the ad long enough to know what they’re actually selling so I can consciously avoid buying their crap. But the drama-queen-looking, sassy wench in the ad is too annoying to watch more than the second it takes to quickly close Nextplus with angry, spaz-like movements. Doesn’t she look like somebody who's definitely at least tried heroin? Otherwise Nextplus works fine. Will update rating if this is “fixed”

In my opinion there is nothing bad about Nextplus except that you have to buy or earn credit to call people. I think you should have in limited call time and should should not have to earn or buy it with REAL MONEY. If this gets fits i will write another review and say how that got fixed. Texting: texting is very easy but you don't have the list of your contacts ready to text, you have to type in their phone number or name to be able to text them. But over all the flaws i think Nextplus is a very smoothed runed game

Love Nextplus and had same number for years. I log in just about everyday or every other day. I haven’t received texts in a while so I open up Nextplus and it asks me to log in. My login info is gone. I can’t recover my password either because it says account not found. The recent software update caused Nextplus to log out and I guess my number got taken away. Going with google voice instead. Tired of this nonsense. Couldn’t even buy my number permanently like it mentions after requiring frequent logins because there was no good link to click on to do so. 1 Star. Give me the exact directions and to reclaim my number back to buy the number and I’ll gladly change my review to 5 star, otherwise it stays 1 Star. No way to contact customer service once your account gets deleted. You guys do want money right?

Update April 2020:
After many email to there support from Nextplus itself and also from there web site and never got a response or reply, I decided to search Facebook and found they had a page. Sent them a message for help and behold I got a response in a few hours. When a call/is made to me Nextplus still does not ring, but if I open app it should miss call and voice mail or text of any is there. Not sure if that Nextplus or my iPad 4 running OS10.

I have sent many emails to there support email address, but never ever get a response. I do get the auto reply that they will response in 24 hours, I wounded 24 hours in what year.

I can not say bad things about the service on my iPad as it does work, no problem sending/receiving text. Don't make much call, but the few I receive seems ok.

Sorry if you can't get support from a company when you are in need, what the point of having support.

Based on my none support help, I give them 2 star.

Update years later and still no reply to my problems. Now app will not sign me in after latest update Nov 2019. Going to web site on computer and sending support email, still no replay.

Nextplus works pretty well but I am so tired of the time wasted trying to “earn credit” with their scam partners. I’ve done so many quizzes and puzzles and surveys and they are all set up so that even if you get the answers right, you still get no credit. They just want to take your personal information and force you to look at their advertising-and you STILL get zero calling credit! So for texting, as slow as that is, it’s ok. But Nextplus is no replacement for calls. Absolute waste of my time. And I don’t appreciate the obvious scam. Not worth it.
Also, the phone number you get is apparently not good enough to even get an email address through gmail or yahoo. Strange, but it definitely doesn’t look like a solid replacement for a regular network plan on my phone.

I used to use Nextplus all the time on my iPad Air 2 as my main phone number. I got a new iPad for Christmas and as soon as all my information and applications transferred over to the new one Nextplus stopped working. I tried reinstalling many times and restarting my iPad. I tried using it over multiple different internet connections. But whenever i pressed Nextplus a black screen showed up for a few seconds and then went back to the home screen. Other than that Nextplus was very useful. There was a problem that the pictures wouldn’t send or get received but that may have been fixed already. Please let me know if this is a problem on your end or on mine.

I can’t hear voicemails that I receive through Nextplus nor can I hear who’s on the other line. This has been going on for the past year and I’ve brought this issue up before but the issue still persists. I’ve deleted and redownloaded Nextplus , emailed support, submitted the bug through their google+ page but nothing’s been done to fix this problem. I update Nextplus as soon as there’s an update and my iPhone 6s is running the later iOS. Doesn’t matter if it’s on WiFi or LTE, I can’t hear anything. My speakers work just fine because I can make calls through Verizon without a problem. Texting works through Nextplus but that’s about it. With the most recent update, I was actually able to hear my voicemails the day I downloaded the update but today I’m back to not hearing anything.

Fix the issues of sending pictures to other recipients instead of sending the pic as it’s been sent from this app your app send links instead then the receiver now has to click on the link then it has to open its browser just to be able to view the picture or image sent that’s completely messed up when we send an image we expect this app to send nothing less than the picture not sending a stupid link that the receiver then has to click on which then needs to open a browser just to view a common image it’s lame and very unprofessional fix that...

Unable to text sometimes. When composing a text, the number you’re trying to text disappears from the box when you try to send. Contacted support about issue but has yet to be fixed. Ads play at the wrong time when your attempting to text. Phone calls/messages sometimes don’t work unless you’re connected to WiFi. Recipient doesn’t receive your call/message. You’re not alerted to incoming phone calls. Nextplus only alerts you when the call is missed. Unable to hear voicemails. The list continues... I get that I’m using the free version but there should be some usability & not so many issues. Makes me glad that I didn’t pay.

The unlimited call is a lie
And they always want me to watch some videos to earn credit it’s better I purchase because the videos are not available to watch to get the Credit is just a big circle back to having no credits and wasting my time spinning wheels
Some text messages do not deliver to recipients too so much loop on this application at first it was unable to create new account
It was more comfortable using google voice
So no star for Nextplus from me👎👎👎

I have been using Nextplus for almost a year and it works great but there’s an issue. Sometimes recipients don’t receive my text messages although I get notified that it has been sent. How do I know they don’t receive. When I log out and re log in I find out that the text I sent earlier had vanished from my messages thread. That is when I know they did not receive that particular message. Aside that it works great with clear calls and smooth operation on my iPhone 7. Those who cant see text,or hear calls or voicemails shout try and use a VPN and wireless connectivity. These 2 makes Nextplus very effective. Try fix the issue of recipients not receiving text messages sometimes. Aside that it works great.

Need to have conversation line delete , definitely helps in keeping those lines with important info that can be deleted later .
Noticed that app goes off @ times when you touch for access , have to delete app to reset , done it several times recently, running fine @ the moment .
Hard to add pics to photo file , have to screen shot to save when I believe that this shouldn’t be the case .
Still pleased with Nextplus , just happy not to be texting using phone cell data .

I may be doing something incorrectly but my only issue is the inability to send pictures. I’ve tried to cut-copy-paste, take it from photo gallery and screenshot. If I could get a definitive way to send pictures, I would give Nextplus 5 stars. I’ve downloaded textplus and then this app because Nextplus directed me to do so and at first I was getting twice the notifications because my number remained with both apps. I seemed to be able to send only one photo a day so I kept both apps to send one photo from each. A week later, though I see the notification for texts, they don’t show up anywhere on either app.

Nextplus is a little slow. I don’t like have you have to earn credit to call and how I don’t get notifications when someone calls or text till the next day or later. I feel Nextplus needs less adds or non at all and needs to be at a fast pace. My messages take for ever to send sometimes it annoying. Although I do like that you can block numbers and it actually blocks them. This may not be for everyone, but when someone using no caller ID calls me I still can see their number after they call. I use Nextplus because I don’t have data so I needed a way to contact my family or friends. Thanks for reading.

I love Nextplus. I purchased the subscriptions and have no lag issues whatsoever. Everything is so smooth after removing the ads. I use this number for dating apps and for acquaintances. It also prevents the creeps from the dating apps from being able to video chat me. Definitely my favorite feature of it. If video chat was added I would probably be forced to use a different app. Would def recommend to anyone who wanted to have a text/call only number.

I have had Nextplus for years and have loved it but now it is working like total crap. I use this mainly to text my mom and other family members but the message NEVER go through! And on top of that the "welcome party" is now texting me every day saying that they are going to reclaim my number and if I think this is a mistake to contact "customer support". In fact while I am typing this they sent me this message again. I have tried texting back asking for help or at least how to contact customer support. They refuse to help. I literally left Nextplus for a year and never had this problem but now they are being jerks. I would not get Nextplus again. I recommend getting something else.

PROS:
• Gives you a working second phone number.
• Interface functions similar to iOS Messages.
• Purchased minutes are relatively cheap.

CONS:
• Call quality ranges from fair to poor.
• If you are messaging someone who is using T-Mobile, photos and videos cannot be sent or received.
• Notifications make absolutely no sense. Why does one received message count as “7” in the badge icon? Sending someone a message makes the badge icon display a “2” even though it shouldn’t display anything. Total nonsense.
• this app doesn’t save unsent texts in the message window like iOS Messages. Expect to have to retype your texts if you wait too long to send them.
• Number protection should come automatically when you remove ads for a year. A non-issue if you use Nextplus every day.
• All of the issues listed above have persisted for years. Nextplus rarely improves. Makes you wonder what you’re paying for.

Greedy App! After having the SAME number for eight years, they change the rules. It used to be log in once in a while, then once a month to keep your number. Suddenly, without Warning AND with NO notification they delete the number I've had forever with a new condition that you have to log in once a week. Which, I did. But I STILL lost my number and the whole reason I've used Nextplus for eight or ten years...since it first was invented, anyway. I would gave even been scammed into paying for a way to get my old number back if it was available. They dropped the ball by getting very greedy on this one.

I’ve been using next+ for a few years now and it has come in handy when I needed to make a few international phone calls. My reason for the two stars is when I tried calling friends in East Africa especially in Kenya and Uganda, even though I have enough credit it says I don’t have enough. I looked at the rate per minute and lo and behold their rates to those countries are $1,000 per minute. I contacted their customer service a few times to see if that was an error from their part but they never replied. Until you fixed your rates to those countries, I will be using another much friendlier app.

After years of haveing the same number it was changed without my acknowledgment. I am very upset. This number I have used for many years when my regular number is not connected. I even used Nextplus 2 weeks ago. I usually get a notification saying I have not used Nextplus in a while and to keep my number I should use it. Now I look around in the settings and find out I have to pay $2 to keep it for a year. That’s nothing I wish I had at least got a notification warning me and say that. I really would like to get my number back if there is anyways possible. This was really unexpected and devastating. I have had the number since textplus.
