Screen greyed out and frozen. Why?

By Janet   11 months ago

When using the camera with the seek app, my photos are blurry. I can take a better photo when not in the app, but then Seek can’t seem to open my photos. Very frustrated….it was perfect a few months ago.

When I try to log in with iNaturalist on Seek, it says I can't because my account has been assigned to another user. I have signed in with iNaturalist in Seek on another device, so that may be the "other user" but I thought the purpose of signing in with iNaturalist was to sync the data.

My Seek app keeps freezing up. The screen turns dark and will not turn off. I can uninstall then reinstall but all the data is lost. The pictures remain in my photos but no names with them. Help!

Upgraded software to 15.4.1 on iPhone 13 Pro. At first Seek would not take a picture. After many tries it finally took the picture. When I took a new picture of the same plant and tried to replace the original picture with the new picture Seek kept the original one; tried this many times with no success. Then Seek locked up completely with the screen dim and will do anything.

I downloaded seek today and was using it to check plants, then my camera crashed and I cannot get it to work. I deleted the app, updated my phone, turned it on and off and my camera just has a black screen and won't work. Super bummed that this happened.

Common dislikes about Seek app

- No way for users to back up their data.

- When you make an observation but the app can’t identify it, and then upload the photo to iNaturalist where it is later identified positively, you don’t get credit for that in either your observations or your challenges/achievements.

- Struggles with location services.

- Can’t reliably identify the human species with darker skin tones.
