MACBID works fine, but buyer beware. Make sure that you understand that what you buy/win might not even work. I won an auction for a good paper shredder. It was listed as “open box”, not damaged. Got it home, and it doesn’t work. I notified them, and they told me I should have checked it at the pickup location, and they basically weren’t going to do anything. It had to be over 25 dollars (I paid 24 conveniently), and it had to be within 5 days of the auction (I had it shipped to a closer location for me, so it was past that window. Again, conveniently.) The original company couldn’t even help me, since I didn’t buy from them. They literally told me that it was junk when I described the problem to them (it would turn on, but wouldn’t make any noise or shred anything.) I get that it’s only 24 bucks. But I’m glad I didn’t spend hundreds on something, like one of their Roombas, for example. Could you imagine paying several hundred dollars, it not work, and you possibly be out all of that money. I’m just dissatisfied, and wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the stipulations of bidding/buying from them. At your own risk.

The listings say they inspect every item but they don’t. I just wasted $23 & an 80 minute drive round trip to pick up a touchless trash can I won in an auction. Because of Covid they load your items into your car without your inspection. I got home to find TWO huge dents in either side of the can, the top of the can completely broken off of the mechanical latch & both touchless sensors broken. This was 100% a damaged item that wasn’t marked as such & I can’t get my money back unless I drive another 80 minutes round trip to return it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOURE ACTUALLY GETTING.

First of all they don’t send out the emails until late it was the day of I am a disabled person so sometimes I have problems getting up there I will never order from here again and I will make sure people know all about this place I have three days to pick something up how I most of this stuff is damaged.I have spent a lot of money here and even though my items that were abandoned didn’t cost that much that is beside the point this is Monday

The update will probably stop me from bidding.
MACBID worked fine for the past year I’ve been using it. The newest update is basically a poor mobile version of their new website. It’s complete garbage to use. Search function is practically worthless and the simplistic design that allowed you to scroll quickly through items is now gone.
If MACBID is terrible, I can’t find items. If I can’t find items, I can’t bid on them.
Also, I have to agree with some other reviews I’ve seen. There’s a recent trend to list everything as “open box” when it’s clearly broken or missing components. Why have a “damaged” distinction if your “open box” also allows for damaged items?
Take some time to inspect the items and be honest with the description. If you continually disappoint your customers, you won’t have repeat business. You might be doing fine now but the business won’t survive without repeat customers.
My personal experience with M@C discount has been relatively good. I’ve gotten good deals on working items and only 1 or 2 small cost items that were broken or missing 70% of the contents (i.e. 2 out of 5 items in a set). I’d rate them as 4 stars if the newest app update was usable. But this is a rating of MACBID and it’s user experience.

If something seems too good to be true, It usually is. This place is a straight up scam. They have someone behind a computer beating your bid until they know they get what they need. A group of people who work there get first look at items and take the good items. Ive gottwn damaged items that were labeled open box. Then they last bid I won was an item worth $900 that i bid $400 for. I guess that was too good of a deal because my item ended up being “lost”
(Sold on ebay by the scum bags that work there)

Y’all skinny guy was very rude. Had a misunderstanding about unpaid item. Told me that I do not spend A lot of money there which this is my Second account Half of my items are broken I did not receive The email saying that my item was unpaid for I would never bid on something if I can not pay for it it was a misunderstanding i’m a loyal customer but he treated me like crap I even proved it that I did not receive the email he could’ve been more understanding and gave me a chance and said next time I won’t have a chance to pay this is bad customer service I have never been talked to like that buy a employee anywhere before. Accidents and mistakes happen it’s a part of life I am human . Have some understanding. I’m a nurse I work long hours and don’t have time for this rudeness especially as a LOYAL CUSTOMER

My account was ban for no reason. The “reason” they have, is that a man who got my fathers email went into their store, and stole some things. It was not my father, so they ban his account, my account and my mothers account. I tried to get my account back and they said they feel I was an accessory to this random person I don't know. I have never gone into the store, and never talked to this man who they thought was my father. If they don’t care about their customers I don’t believe it’s worth your time.

They take out too much in taxes and other fees if u win at around $100 ur paying $130. If it says open box which they don’t list this in their terms and agreement if it says open box it can be damaged or not damage they’re not gonna tell you which is ridiculous but they can’t tell you if somethings are damaged and not damaged makes no sense this place is horrible for different things yesterday said that it was new that I had Botton all but one of them were used and broken and I spent over $200 in one bid. These ppl are scammers
by Jawsjannie
Ive got some good deals but I’ve also been burned several times now for hundreds of $ on large ticket items. If you don’t live close by and can’t ‘inspect’ something, don’t bid! Pictures look like item is in an intact box but often there is a large hole in the box that doesn’t show up in the pictures that has caused damage to the item inside. I wish the company would actually inspect the items and state any issues. It’s over an hour drive for me for their big box items and I’m not able to inspect. I’m out.....probably lost more than I’ve saved at this point.

The biggest issue is that MACBID crashes or freezes often. This is especially an issue if you are trying to bid. As for the products, it’s 50/50. I’ve gotten a ton of stuff from M@C so far and it’s almost exactly half of things were good and half were not as described or broken. Definitely go check out what you are bidding on beforehand but even so things can get damaged while they are getting moved around the warehouse so it’s still no guarantee. Good luck.

i think they got too big too fast. items as of late are poorly described and photo’ed. feels like too many items and not enough workforce to handle it. got several items that were fine some not so much but items are not being labled properly with their “inspections” its not hard to tell when a box is all tore up and and you can see the product being clearly broken not labeled as such. how do you label a kids folding chair and table as such and open box when theres no actual chair and the table is basically just a card table frame becuse its so broken up into pieces its just like the foam padding inside the box or a bar stool seat that is missing the actual seat and half the legs.
i think we are most likely going to forget about MACBID going forward as they need some serious qc improvement of their listings

I don’t have much of a problem with MACBID - you need to learn how to use it. Not a steep learning curve - but there’s some particulars that take a minute to grasp. Be careful tho - they list stuff as ‘open box’ and it seems they do this to cover themselves. The item descriptions are vague and or lacking info because the volume is so high (I believe). But items will appear new and then you pick it up and get it home and realize it has a dent or a piece is missing or it’s just broken or it’s been used... so be prepared to ‘lose’ on some of this stuff - they also give you the option to come inspect items - which I feel is just another way for them to turn down return of items. I’ve received a used toothbrush (gross), and a tool box that doesn’t close cause it’s dented, and a vacuum that was used and still had dirt and hair in it. Most things you get for half price - so you get some good buys, but you can also get burned on stuff.

I have been using the M@C app for nearly its entire span.
I interface with an IPad, the experience of transitioning to the newer versions has been a difficult transaction. I must admit some new features are practical, but many extremely beneficial ones no longer exist. (1) MACBID does not remove closed auctions at end of auction, it use to place them at bottom of the list, (2) photos can be magnified only in tiny segments but not opened In a separate window. (3) the search feature is difficult to navigate. (4) app functions can only be seen in portrait mode not landscape. To be honest the web based format is a better experience than MACBID .

So I must say I thought this was a good idea. MACBID works fine but this whole thing is ripping people off. I went to the actual store looked at the box because it was sealed. They know they are selling damaged products. I bought a cooler, box was in perfect condition, which they re-packed it in. Low and behold the handle was cracked and would make it troublesome to transport stuff in it. They knew it was broken and still sold it. I bought a scale too. Box in great condition, not working. It shouldn’t be a crap shoot when you are spending money. I get that there might be some cosmetic damage but knowingly selling things that are broken is ridiculous. Maybe I’m just unlucky but I’m done buying stuff from here….

Not loving the new update. I like that they have added "featured" products however they have gotten rid of the the ability to distinguish between big box and regular lots. In addition, I am seeing the ability to "star" or save an item to view later however whenever I try to find my saved items they are nowhere to be found... I swear I have looked under every button I could press. Not sure if this is a glitch or if I'm just missing it?
Either way, the accessibility of not having/being able to find this saved items listing is a real bummer and makes it much harder to remember which items to bid on, hence most likely resulting in the company losing out on many bids-- please fix this!!
by Link1328
I have found it easy to star the items I want to track and or bid. In MACBID when you view your “watched” list it doesn’t let you sort by time left. This would be extremely valuable when your waiting to see if you won
by BJoGill
I have highly recommended this site to so many in the short time I have been lucky enough to take advantage of it myself. I am blown away by the furnishings I have won through the bid process. I have used this site to furnish my son’s apartment and buy the best graduation gifts for family and friends going off to college and needing to furnish their door room or house. You can get more bang for the buck!!!
by Han💜
I never leave reviews but I had to for this. The stuff you get on MACBID is typically in brand new condition and it comes at a good price even though you’re bidding against other people. I have furnished my entire bedroom with MACBID. I have also got other great things I needed around the house.

Purchased lawnboy lawnmower listed as self propelled. After purchase discovered this lawnmower was a push mower. Therefore deceitful related to retail value which in turn effected my purchase. Would not have bid winning amount on a push mower. Lawnmower and retail price incorrectly stated. So, was this a good purchase based on misleading information?

I love MACBID. I’ve got multiple items already and everything was in perfect/unused condition. All the boxes were “opened” and one box was beat up but miraculously no damage to item. You can “inspect” the item at the warehouse before bidding to check for possible damages. Tips: put a limit for what you are willing to spend…I won’t bid pass 50% of retail price. Take into count the additional fees…$2 on every item, 15% buyers premium, and of course sales tax. And research the item to make sure it’s what you expect. MACBID can show you items from specific locations, which is important. I’ve saved so much money and I’m completely satisfied with the quality of the items.

The products are technically “used” but everything I see is LIKE NEW. MACBID is easy to use and the bidding is quick. Best mobile app for consumer auctions.
Don't waste your time. Descriptions and photos don't match. Never, ever, bid on an open box. They never have all the parts, products are used, etc. It ends up being cheaper to buy new. All pickups are about an hour from my home & anything electronic/electric does not work. Don't waste your time. Marketplace is a better option.
Tried bidding on 19 identical tv's all closing at the same time. I had been bidding off and on for a week. When it came down to a minute on each item, all my bids failed and I kept getting the response "bid failed, auction closed." I lost every single bid before the time was up. I was furious. That meant whoever was the last to bid before the last minute got the item. I have been bidding on this site for at least six months now and that is the first time that has happened. I think their site was overwhelmed by the response and crashed. I am angry and disappointed. Very unfair! If their website can't handle the traffic, they should shut it down until they correct the problem.
Almost all experiences have been positive. I try to only bid on/purchase items that are "like new" and 99% positive. Yes a couple of items were in bad shape but those were the items that were "open box". Buyer beware and if the item is high dollar item, for the love of god purchase the buyer's assurance protection which will give you a 5 day return option. Everyone at the site is super helpful and friendly. Do not listen to all the bad reviews of people that were so called "burned", it's not a scam. It's just do your homework!
What a horrible place. Its a junk store on steroids Nothing but other peoples returned item and trash. poor customer service on top of the garbage pile.

M@c Discount basically sells things that are garbage and says they are open box when they clearly are used and dysfunctional. Refuses returns and says you are taking a chance when you bid on an item - but they clearly mislead and post misinformation on their website.
So not sure if this will get to any kind of management or where this comment goes to but hopefully it’s the right place - So for two months I been calling the support service line and leaving messages about needing help with my account and never once have I received a call back - so under reviews I stated that I was only leaving a one star due to this reason in which I always understood that it’s your opinion on what star you want to leave and the reasoning but apparently not - because I left a one star they closed my account - I still have two weeks on a paid membership that I was told I won’t get compensated on - they aren’t even lettting me pick up things that are being transferred that I’ve already paid for - This item I paid for being it’s paid already now belongs to me - what is the purpose of being able to do a review if they are going to punish you for what star you leave - I pay each month faithfully and make lots of purchases and that being said I am a good customer - all these messages left with no return calls for two months is going to make any customer feel this way - I know I can bid through other peoples accounts still but I like my own account and through all this I said nothing bad about the company in my review except the no return calls - I would like this to be further looked into as they said I left a bad review on all warehouses and this is not true - I only said I was leaving a one star due to the no return call for two months from customer support - I am not a bad person and think I am at No wrong here so if this could be looked into it would be appreciated as everyone has their own opinion - I had a legitimate reason of the amount of stars to leave and if anything customer support is wrong for two months of no return calls - I even made friends in your employment such as good people like the Robinson warehouse manager Joel - Thank You for taking the time to read and hope we can have some kind of understanding - I honestly thought that after my review someone would have tried to contact me to keep a customer happy and not just shut him out
I liked the company that I have spent thousands of dollars with until an emergency came up and I was not able to pick up the items. I can not accept the careless behavior of higher ups that could care less about people and only care about the money in their pocket. Especially if a valued customer has an emergency and need an extension and charge you anyways. And don't give you your items... this is a scam said in their agreement. They really disappointed me and I will tell everyone about the lack of care and consideration for there customers. Very sad you spend that money and they just care about what they can get out of you. So sad when someone's in the hospital and left messages that they needed an extension and they disregarded even paying extra in holding the items and still no refund or help with items.. Frank Merz if he is still the owner ... I hope you see this. And know your business will fail if you don't take care of the valued customers that support you and refer your business. Poor business design if you look at the bigger picture.
Bought an Apple watch for $288 that did not work was still attached to another user and Apple could not help. They would not refund and when I complained they suspended my sons account, even though he didn't complain, I did. Not worried about losing me or apparently my son as we were told they have over 300,000 customers. Keep it up and your numbers will drop, you cant keep taking money and not provide product that works and keep a successful business. But you'll be rich by then so you don't care.
Garbage… complete hustle.
I think I'm starting to notice that items that were getting 'bid' on and I got outbid are still there and end back on the list the next day. So the folks that said MAC employees are bidding are right I think. So just hold your price and don't keep bidding. It'll probably be back on the list tomorrow.
I have to truly agree with another review - I was eating at eat and park and over heard a guy sitting at a table next to me saying he works for Mac Bids and that they sit on a computer and up bids so they can get a price they want on larger items
I have to agree with Kayla Wozelek about the skinny guy being rude - she did not even mention the location but I can guarantee it’s the guy at the Robinson location - he is the manager and is extremely rude - He acts as if he got complete control over you - I have a membership and get one return with 5 carryovers and I get the buyers insurance so a return should not even be questioned but this guy makes you feel as if your a piece of crap and goes out of his way to make a return extremely difficult on you - I bought a real relax massage chair for 634.00 and in below zero weather picked it up and when I got it home it did not work so I returned it at the Robinson warehouse and first he made me struggle with this chair by myself across the parking lot and up a long ramp in total was about 100 yards total and when I finally got it to the door he had a pallet on a pallet jack awaiting - he could have brought the pallet jack or forklift to my truck but instead he and two other employees watched me struggle this chair across the lot and up the ramp - I even asked him if I could use the loading dock or back up the ramp and got a no for an answer - when I got to the door with the chair and saw the pallet jack I was mad and asked why he couldn’t have brought it to my truck and he said it’s policy they are door pickup for returns only and it’s up to the customer to load and unload their merchandise themselves for insurance reasons meanwhile I seen employees helping other customers load their vehicles- I have spent tons of money at max bids and even have a membership but I’m now done because of this manager and in time I’m sure they will lose more customers due to him - he doesn’t want to do anymore than he has to - I’m not in his shoes but if I was this warehouse would be run extremely better and I would make customers feel as if they couldn’t wait to return and not turn them away - I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure his name is Joe
Beware! I bought a vacuum with a bad battery. M@C still sold the vacuum with no warning of the non working battery. I aslo bought a airfryer that was cracked on the side and missing parts. This airfryer was not label as damage. I think that the store setup is an insurance scam. They are making money on the purchase of coverage to return an item to be sold again and again.
I love this store I am addicted And at the Butler store everyone is very helpful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It started out good and then they started selling broken garbage. Nope!
U need to understand…This is a salvage business. U are buying returns, shelf pulls, overstocks, close outs, shipping damaged goods, used-n-returned items, u might even get ins claimed items from a box store damaged in a collapse bdg. . All jammed into trucks. This company & others like it buy truckloads for literally pennies on the dollar. A small % of wholesale, probably as low as 5% to as much as 25% of WHOLESALE. & in his case, due to the volume I see, I’d guess he’s probably contracted to take ALL trucks shipped. So his profit potential is huge. But not being guaranteed on quality his risk is big as well. I’m sure If he were to buy a salvage truck from Walmart, Sears, Kmart, or places like that, unless he’s worked out a deal at a higher %, so they throw him some decent stuff, I'm sure it’s going to be 80% broken junk or empty boxes because someone stole the contents. Overall It’s a good business and u do have the chance to save big. Well u did b4 everyone found it 😂. I’d say ur average savings has gone from 75% to 80% off retail down to 50% off retail because of the increasing number of bidders that get caught up in bidding wars. So with only saving 50% or less in many cases, u have to decide if the savings is worth the risk. ⭐️This is NOT a retailer ⭐️ Generally there is no guarantee! Yes you do have time to inspect….but could u imagine what it would be like if all interested parties showed up to do so? I honestly think this is something he’s banking on. That ppl gamble on quality instead of making the drive. I know I have, & I’ve been on both sides of the win/loss column. His business has grown well over the past 2 yrs. And he has expanded. He does offer limited transfers to/from some locations. And membership upgrades at a cost which gives u more but limited transfer options & return/refund possibilities. I understand that with the amount of trucks he receives daily his teams have to really hustle to unload sort, photograph, list, & link to a comparable retail item so u can read more about what it would be like IF, IF, IF it was brand new. Now that his site’s popularity & by proxy, (due to bidding wars), his profit margins & exposure has grown, I would hope he becomes more detailed in his listing. Especially considering the distance his business has reached. I drive 3 or more hours to pick up items. So inspecting them prior is not an option. I also wish he would consider opening up at earlier times a few days, so I could make it to my second shift job @ 2pm. I depend on the quality of his teams work, listing & describing the item accurately, & especially the detail in the photos. SO I HOPE THAT IMPROVES. Especially the photos. If it says open box, but u take pics of just the box, or u list it by UPC codes. Ur not giving me much to work with & those are things I’ve “lost the bet” on. I’m sure there’s a number of skilled ppl that would love to get broken or damaged items at a great savings so they could build an inventory of parts. Repair items and flip them at flea markets & garage sales for a little profit to supplement a retirement or fixed income. So I wouldn’t be vague on descriptions & photos. & continue to dive the price up while disappointed & loosing what would of been loyal bidders. I still plan on using his site but as the auctions go higher it’s become less. At a certain point I leave it for the ppl that have the money to burn on a higher gamble. I must commend his staff in every location I’ve been at! They have been extremely helpful, polite, & professional. Even dripping with sweat and winded they’ve been great! Kind, respectful, and more then willing to help. So in my opinion his workers attitude & effort alone is worth the continued visit to his site for the opportunity at, what’s becoming less and less of, a deal. I hope he/they see this and pass it on to the workers, with my thanks. Overall I would give his company 3 stars out of 5. With an easy potential for a 5 star rating. Simply because, as I said, his reach and popularity and company has grown, the bidding has gone higher, but the complaints are also growing, due to ppl not realizing what they were bidding on, & I would expect his response to his growth, & distance of his reach, would be reflected in the quality of his listing descriptions & photos to secure his customer’s repeat business, at all levels of item quality. Ppl will buy broken stuff & BE HAPPY WITH IT…..if they know it’s broken b4 they buy. But I’m sure he’s thinking he got this big without doing it so in his mind if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But I’d rather try to be proactive and rewarding to my ppl.

Today was my first trip to Mac Boardman. The guys were so helpful walking me to the areas I was looking for the products I Won!! , and also delighted when I told them, I got this!” Kevin was great when I said how do I know this electric device will work… he said unpack it and showed me outlets to use to try the product! Great Customer Service! I’ll be a return customer
M@C is a great concept where consumers can get great values on items that have been returned or slightly damaged or overstocks that have been put up for auction. I go to the McKees Rocks facility and they are great to work with. All the employees are helpful and friendly. Make sure you utilize the inspection process if the purchase is a large dollar amount prior to your final bid.
Everyone is very helpful! Manager helped me immediately with my transfer issue and resolved it! I have bought many things and have even found ways to up cycle many items into new things! Think outside the box and you can create awesome things using items you can buy cheap!
They sell for 80% off of full price because you are only getting 20% of what is pictured. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!! I bought what was advertised as a sprinkler on a tri-pod today. The sprinkler is NOT in the box!!! I also bought what was advertised as six totes with lids... there was only one lid in the box!!! What they sell is broken stuff and/or AMAZON returns that people have kept parts out of. They list the items as "open box." They will not refund you or allow you to return the scam merchandise.
