🏷️ About: Satellite is a mobile app that provides its users with a German cell phone number, independent of their current provider, which can be used to make phone calls and receive calls from anyone, anywhere in the world. The app offers much more than the usual VoIP apps and makes users independent from the big mobile phone providers. Satellite offers encrypted calls via SRTP and TLS, and 100 minutes per month free calls to mobile/fixed networks in Germany and 63 countries around the world. The app is developed from scratch and even founded its own telephone company.

Used to work very well but not anymore

I used to really enjoy satellite because it worked well and relatively reliably. However since the last 1 1/2 weeks, I can only use it on WiFi. It will not work on LTE anymore. I discontinued their this app Plus Service since it does not work on LTE.

Good call quality, missing key features

Call quality appears to be good. Better than Skype with low bandwidth. Irritating that one cannot paste a telephone number into the dial pad. I don’t want to have to share my entire contact list.
