- The idea of the app is fun and exciting, making collecting albums more enjoyable.
- The available animations are cool and well-made.
- The app is free and the animations are handmade by animators for free.
- It has the potential to become greater and more varied in art styles and albums if other artists are allowed to work on it.

Like most of the other reviews, it didn’t work on some pretty popular albums like imagine by John Lennon or any of the Ramones albums, also AriaTheARPlat is extremely minimalistic. The only thing AriaTheARPlat lets you do is record, there’s not even a settings button. Definitely seems like AriaTheARPlat was published before being finished, and if that’s the case they should put a warning letting people know it’s still in development instead of just making people annoyed.

in theory it’s a cool app but it’s extremely limited, out of my 30 vinyls including a couple modern classics like Flower Boy, Circles by Mac Miller, and Abbey Road, it only worked with Nevermind by nirvana, it’s extremely limited and there’s no library to tell you what albums do and do not work, i’m glad i didn’t spend money on this. i think in the future if they expand their library and add features other than a camera and a record button it could be cool but as of right now it’s very streamlined and basic with no real interactivity.

Kept seeing videos about it on tik tok and downloaded it. I tried a million time with my album covers and it did not work with any of them. I refreshed AriaTheARPlat and deleted and downloaded it multiple times and it did not work. It didnt even work with Don’t Smile at Me, and I know for sure they have one for it. I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong, but I am extremely disappointed!

As you can see from other reviews, AriaTheARPlat is stupid and you will waste your time. There should be a list of albums this does work for, or at least something to click on or do? It’s a camera app unless you have one of the 5 albums it works on. If you’re gonna make an app that’s supposed to ‘bring album covers to life’ then maybe you should include more vinyl covers?

So I have a collection of vintage records, stuff I got from my mom. The Beatles, Chicago, Grand Funk Railroad, and even Cheech and Chong and trying this on all of them didn’t work. It only worked on Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic” album I bought recently and none of of the others in my collection of 100 that also has Daft Punk. This is almost false advertising to start this transformation of art medium with the most recent artists in the songbook. This could be used as a tool of culture relation and history, yet is seen as a tool to perpetuate the most surface level artists that have no relation to emotion or soul that classics can offer. This could be a tool for connection and understanding but seems to be just a cruddy billboard like the radio. Sad really.

Downloaded AriaTheARPlat to use on my record collection ( I have about 45, so a wide range of genres and more “popular” albums from over time” and none of them except one were recognized. Don’t waste your time with AriaTheARPlat if you’re looking for any album to work. I seen this on tiktok and thought it was cool; but the only album that worked is Thriller by MJ. Widen your range of albums if you want better reviews

i like the concept of AriaTheARPlat , but it just doesn’t work. i tried it on my jackboys vinyl and it did nothing. and AriaTheARPlat interface needs to be fixed so there’s like a home screen or instructions or settings or something. it’s just a camera and doesn’t tell u what to do

AriaTheARPlat has such great potential yet is limited in scope by the developers. If artists outside of Alkanoids could use it it would have HUGE potential. I’m a painter/mixed media artist that has looked for an app to do the things this can do for some time. There is one other app that I know of, CreativeMuse, yet it’s platform is clunky and unrefined. Aria desperately needs to figure out how to make the technology available to the masses although I’ve followed them and been in contact with them for over a year and they are yet to get something together. Seems like they are losing $$$ everyday they waste not getting this into the hands of artist willing to pay for a subscription type service. Might just turn out to be a beautiful looking dud.

It has a lot of potential but it only has a few albums that work on it I feel like if it worked on a lot more this would be way more popular but also it would still feel like a try a couple albums then delete it because once you saw what you wanted to see there’s no point in having it

Somehow an app for vinyl visuals only had 2 of my relatively large collection (Rumours and Abbey Road). I’m not trying to say this couldn’t be great for people who collect more modern music than I typically do (I assume the remaining music they have is modern?) but the majority of vinyl is old. I’m still somewhat baffled they didn’t have Sgt. Pepper’s as it’s not only a classic but would be a really fun illustration. Even some of my more modern indie music wasn’t there so I’m assuming most of the vinyls on there are pop which is fine but I really doubt that’s the target demographic of 3D vinyl art. Most vinyl collectors are in the older music genres or indie. I hope they work to add more albums as it’s a really cool concept though!

Love the idea of animating the vinyls I already own though AriaTheARPlat doesn’t tell the user the availability of albums that are or soon to be compatible with AriaTheARPlat . Even the Instagram page of AriaTheARPlat isn’t very informative on album availability. AriaTheARPlat itself is bland with nothing more than a camera to record the animation and it feels rushed. A list of the albums with AR compatibility would greatly improve AriaTheARPlat .

So i downloaded AriaTheARPlat after seeing it on instagram and it does have great potential but they need to add more albums onto it because i (i’m 12) used melanie martinez - crybaby, k-12, after school and whitney houston, the Beatles, beach house, the beach boys, billie eilsih was the only one that worked and i’m not the biggest fan of her but i don’t hate her it’s just it was a shame that the one i listen most to worked only :(

I don’t want to sound picky here, I love the art in AriaTheARPlat, it’s fluid, colorful, and attracting. But I hope whoever made AriaTheARPlat is still working on this project. Many of my vinyls I have don’t work with this. So all I’m trying to say is keep working on this, because AriaTheARPlat is for sure going to blow up one day.

The album aspect of creativity is extremely cool and unique! Only bummer is that I which there were a lot more albums that had a short clip attached to it! 5 stars if there were more albums that allowed a scan to happen!! Easy to operate! Fun to use! Give us more animations for albums please!!!

Don’t get discourage when your albums or art doesn’t come to life. You gotta understand the people who run AriaTheARPlat have to make digital art for every album piece and art piece.
So with that being said a lot of albums and art cannot come to life. But when I scanned one of my albums it said more to come soon. And I think it’s still a pretty cool app. The thought of my favorite albums coming to life, artists who have passed. It’s just heartwarming. This is awesome when it works. But like I said. Just be patient. And keep an eye out for new digital art

I have many albums yet it only animated one.. Boston’s hit album “Boston.” - was I disappointed? Not at all. I understand that the developers of AriaTheARPlat are human, and it takes a good amount of work to create an animation for just a single album. I think AriaTheARPlat has a lot of potential - I hope they really do something with it. But please don’t go on expecting all of your albums to suddenly be animated, chances are none of them might be - especially if most of what you own are indie or just less popular artists.. But again, for what it is it is amazing
by Gnomesoup
i think AriaTheARPlat is amazing!! so many people are upset about the lack of options but seem to forget each animation is handmade by an animator for free. the available ones are cool and while i hope more options are offered eventually, it’s great for now. :-)

ignore the salty one star reviews that thought this would work on ALL of their albums. artists have to individually create the visuals and there are thousands of albums out there. check thiscover__ on instagram to see which albums they’ve done so far.
by Jayee66
Gotta get the albums up. I know there’s a lot out there. And that’s an understatement. But. If you can add them without compromising quality. This will be the #1 app in the world. Or if not Top 10. 5 stars for the idea. 1 star for the product.
by Laholo717
I love love love the idea of this and it’s so fun to find out which albums it does work for. It has made collecting albums seem much more fun. I just hope they add things like a search of what albums they have. I hope they allow other artists to work on it so it can become even greater and more varied in art styles and albums.

this was advertised to work on an album from a late great noise band from NYC. except it doesn't. at all. despite GREAT lighting, good camera. nada.
