Call/Text

I love this app Mobile but I wish there was a way in Mint to view how many minutes/text messages have been used along with a history of some sort that you can view in case a “bill” is needed for court records or just bc the customer is curious. It was a hassle initially switching over to this app but now that everything has successfully transferred over, I am pleased with the service and the price point. I’ve even referred friends and family to this app Mobile to see if they might be able to save money on their wireless bills also. The only other feature I would suggest for the mobile app (besides the call/text counter and history) would be a way to report cell service issue areas that use the customers GPS to help identify areas of low or no coverage or network latency so that the this app Mobile network can be optimized and improved for future users. It is my hope to see these features added in the future.

Definitely will refer

We have tried the Walmart family plan, and a few other companies. The one we stuck with the longest has been Verizon. We were on the prepaid plan and paid almost $100 a month for both phones (both of which didn’t have I limited internet). The customer service was TERRIBLE due to us being prepaid. Verizon was rude and crabby when we’d call in and it got old. We accidentally found out about this app due to Ryan Reynolds. After looking up if he had any current movies we saw he had a phone company. We looked online and loved how sarcastic and humorous the website was. We checked into the places we went and found they had service in the area. After trialing the 7 day card we decided to make the jump. My husband has the unlimited plan and I have the 4 GB plan. We were able to transfer over our numbers and keep our phones.
It was a very smooth process. I love the price we are paying and that he gets more internet that I hope he needs.
we’ve also found that in some areas we previously had issues with internet (example is our Tin shop) we now have full bars. Not sure how or why were able to have access to internet but I’m not going to complain.

Absolutely love the company. 100% would recommend.

Ciao T-mobile Hello Mint

Since T-Mobile joined forces w/ Sprint I began to notice the change. Calls frequently dropped, my bill secretly increased, my same 2 associates for 3 years that always handled my account vanished…they would even ask how my dog Capone was… I soon was being transferred to a call center in another country … yeah T-mobile Tuesdays was a cool perk but after all issues stated above ..no longer a perk to me …I heard about this app on Trash Tuesdays Podcast (Hollaaa Slugs) the paid 3,6,12 months at once like my car insurance was what sold me… then BONUS how extremely inexpensive the plans are! So this morning I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for T-Mobile to call me back spoke with someone (I couldn’t understand her name) who had me on the phone for another 20 minutes to apologize letting me know she didn’t know how to release our phone numbers on the account to transfer too this app. I then called up this app, Erick answered and within 10 minutes had both our numbers transferred and our new this app account activated! If making the switch because of their Awesome phone plans doesn’t budge you then hopefully this review of their Stellar Customer Service will! Just doooooo it!!!

Bad Service, Worse Support

We travel full-time with our family in our RV so we’ve been a lot of places with this app. We also have an ATT hotspot plan as our main internet service on the road. ATT is there for us in 95% of the places we stay (and most are in towns and near cities, not in the woods). this app, however, is usually good for voice, but the 10gb of data we pay for rarely gets used because their LTE service is nearly non-existent in the west. Try chatting to see if you can find some resolution and you’ll waste an hour and a half while someone takes 10 minutes between each response only to accomplish in that time checking an address they were told we don’t live at and resetting our phone, and finally checking a couple recent addresses to let us know, “we’re weak there. And there, too.” Oh, and offered $5 for the inconvenience that our plan with them that we’ve had for 3 years didn’t work in Bend, OR (100,000 pop) or 80% of the places we travel since leaving there. Customers for 3 years and we’ve kept it because it’s cheaper than most service plans and like I mentioned, we have our trusty AT&T hotspot for WiFi that works nearly EVERYWHERE. Why is ATT so much better than T-Mobile/this app? I mean, it’s absurd how often this app just fails you when you’re traveling. Oh, and they’re constantly pushing you to refer friends and family—I would never! Run!

I was super happy with them until recently

I’ve been using this app for about 2 years now and i have been super happy with them up until recently. Their plans are super confusing and impractical. I was paying for the 10 gig plan but it wasn’t enough so i switched to unlimited so i wouldn’t have to worry about using all my data anymore. I was using my hotspot for my laptop today like i always do and i got a text saying i had used all my hotspot data for the month and then my laptop said no internet and my hotspot would no longer work. i went on Mint and chatted with an employee asking if there was any way i could buy more hotspot data and they said no and that i would have to wait until my cycle renews. why do i pay for unlimited if it’s not actually unlimited?? so now i can only use my laptop for one week a month and i just have to wait until the data renews to use my laptop again. i’m super upset. this is completely impractical. why can’t i pay for more hotspot data?? how am i supposed to use my laptop when i’m not at home and have no other wifi options??

Don’t trust Mint Mobile

I spent two weeks trying to get this app Mobile to help fix whatever was wrong with my number transfer, losing business, losing a lot of time, and losing money. this app Mobile would have me on phone calls for hours only to not fix the problem, ask me to wait 48 hours to see if the transfer went through, and then have to start the process over again. My case got escalated to the port department twice and they never got back to me, a manager was supposed to return my call within three hours yesterday to three way call with me and my previous carrier to resolve the problem and they never got back to me. No one at this app Mobile ever did anything real to help me. There is an old saying, “You get what you pay for” so there is absolutely a price to pay for getting a less expensive service - the customer service will tell you whatever they have to go get off the phone and pass the buck to someone else when you have to call back to tell the story again later. Save your money, your time, and your frustration by staying with a carrier you can count on. I returned back to my old carrier today and it works perfectly, headache over. Good riddance, this app Mobile.

Satisfying, predictable, and pretty reliable service

I've had this app for two years now, and even started and stopped between there. But I came back for the pricing and knowing every YEAR I would have the same service at a consistent price. Setup is pretty standard and the customer service I feel is trying to help you out. You get goodies in the mail and a good attempt to make the company feel personal. App functionality is somewhat limited (if you wanted to buy a phone with them or change your plan) but otherwise you can load your wallet and set your auto renew or not. Service will always vary but I'm in the Pacific Northwest and haven't lost signal till a mountain peak which is normal for most I imagine. Not to mention we got an upgrade in data free of charge as it became the new standard. All in all, it's simple and straightforward. If you like hidden fees and extra charges this app won't be for you.

Great App Almost Perfect but…

Great app this app mobile is almost the prefect service. But what I think would make it even better is if we could pay our renewal bill in bits an pieces before the date. Sure you can pay renewal ahead of time but it’s the full amount. I feel like especially for the 1 year plan unlimited plan this should be an option, instead of shelling out $400 come renewal date. I could be putting what amount of money have I towards that each month or and it either sits in my wallet or there is a separate option to chip away at that. For example I wanted to put $105 each month because I know I’m not the best at saving money but when I asked support if I added the money to my wallet would it go towards my renewal bill they said no.

Customer for life

Mint is easy to navigate through, convenient, super user-friendly, no non-sense. Now the savings I’ve had since switching from AT&T is truly unbelievable. I had had AT&T for over 12 years paying over $100 a month for a very limited data. I hesitated switching to this app in the beginning because I was used to AT&T and I was simply attached, but I could no longer tolerate how much I was being ripped off. I also outright owned my phone and I was still paying >$100 a month. It’s downright horrendous how much I was paying for my cell service. From $1200+ a month to $240 flat a month. The switch was also easy, 3 to 5 mins tops.
Not only am I saving a TON of money, I also have better cell coverage, no dropped calls, equal, if not faster internet connection. It’s a total win-win situation, and a complete no-brainer. I am a customer for life.

I’ve been with Mint over a year now and have little to complain about.

I love this app because I have never had a issue with service access to the tower down like I did on Metro and Boost in the past and being left with no way to make a call or reach help if I needed it. Being disabled I need reliable service and this app hasn’t let me down. My only issue is the Data my bill was just paid today (I meant to pay 3 mo and actually paid 12 months the positive side to my slip is I know I have service for a full year now!) and just being paid I should be good on my data and it’s showing LTE. That is my only complaint so have the data why is it showing LTE that never showed with others service until my data was getting low. However, I am able to use my hotspot however when needed for my tablet at times.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I’ve been with several service provider sprint, at&t, and T-Mobile. I worked in a phone repair store and offered other prepaid services , I must say this app has been the best ! For the price you get it for how can you complain. The block plans are what made me intrigued with the company and what they offer . I was recently laid off from work and got tired of paying T-Mobile nearly $150 a month for 1 phone on the plan . So I unlocked my iPhone 8 Plus and got a this app started card . I Tried it out for a week with their trial and I must say , I was getting the same signal strength and data speed as T-Mobile . So I got the 3 month $60 promo plan with 8GB of data . Besides watching my data usage, I’m used to unlimited data the overall of the service is amazing . I’m glad I made the switch and definitely will be referring a lot more people to the company .

So excited! I recommend not porting your old number

I tried porting my old number, which was a big mistake, this is a very cheap service and it comes with the price of activities your new number glitching out and making you wait days after you’ve purchased your plan. When switching from porting old number to taking a new number, that took 4 days talking to customer service to work out. So having said that, just skip trying to keep your old number and enjoy the benefits of a cheap and good service. $25 a month for unlimited 10gb is insane and I can hotspot it to my laptop. No overage charges and slowed down data afterwards. T mobile service! Which is no Verizon obviously but for the price it’s amazing. Thank you Richard at customer service for being the only one who got it to work. Now that it works I’m so happy with it.

Best Provider

I’ll be honest I don’t know much about phone plans at all, but I have seen my family members struggle to make ends meet for their fluctuating monthly plans and the frustration looks stressful. I saw an ad for this app Mobile literally right when I was looking for an affordable phone plan for my new phone and its been everything I want and more! I had a problem with my data one day and so I called their customer service number and the guy led me on how to fix the problem. He made it so easy to understand and my data was back to normal in like 5 minutes! I love that they have Mint where I can see how much data I’ve used and always remind me when to renew my plan. I don’t know how they got the price so low and the quality so good, but I’m enjoying it to the fullest. 🌸

Severely lacking

First off, Mint is fairly decent, but can be confusing. Some things aren’t where you would expect them to be or can be difficult to find.
As far as this app Mobile, if you seriously need your carrier to work properly, it isn’t for you. There are delays in text messages and voicemail messages coming through sometimes as much as 24 hours later. At first, I thought the problem might be related to my iPhone 8. I have recently upgraded to an iPhone 13, and I still have the same problem. Additionally, now that I have upgraded to the iPhone 13, I am also having problems with some calls that go in an out so I can only hear little bits and pieces of what’s being said from each sentence. It’s extremely frustrating having to constantly ask the person to repeat themselves.
I guess this is one case where you get what you pay for, or actually, in this case you don’t get what you pay for.

Bad customer service[updated] resolved

Bought a promotion for three free months and activated by phone since it wasn’t working on safari and I didn’t have Mint yet. Even though I requested to keep my number it gave me a new one and abruptly ended the call. The next morning I called to fix it during tech support hours and a nice lady assured me I could keep the deal after she refunded me and deactivated my SIM card. She then transferred me to another person to get my deal and he informed me that the deal expired last night and there was no way to get it back. I asked, well what can you do for me? He said, I can sell you a regul ar plan. Frustrating.
(Edit)
Another hour on the phone and I convinced them to refund the first three months. Have yo give 5 stars for 6 months for $60!

Love it so far! App could improve.

We were previously using Sprint/T-Mobile, and this app has been 1000% better so far. I have liked being able to customize the plans to fit the needs of each family member. I do find the this app family feature in Mint could use some improvement. As a family manager, I would like to be able to see all of my family members usage on my dashboard and all of the plans that I’m paying for on the my plans screen. Especially since all of my plans renew on the same day, it would be nice to see actual totals for what I’m paying and whatnot. The information for my family members is currently buried in Mint , which I find frustrating. But, that’s my only complaint, so still a 5-star product overall!

Make the switch today!!

So let me start off by saying I work in a corporate cellphone store won’t say who. But think blue. I have been hearing about this app mobile a lot lately and have been thinking of ways to save money; so I decided to bite the bullet. I was paying over 180$ a month for two lines. I activated on the 3 month plan to start but will be going to the year. I already am in the works of paying the year upfront during my 90 days it’s that good! 5G coverage is fantastic and compares very well to the previous carrier I had (again think blue). I will refer everyone I know and some I don’t because this is too good to pass up on. Not to mention Ryan Reynolds ads are hilarious! Thank you this app for making 2021 seem a little brighter! Now switch today and start saving some $$$

Frustrated and cancelling soon…

I used this plus the hotspot on the unlimited plan, because I’m out of work and this was an affordable option. Without warning, I was out of data. I read the fine print and saw that unlimited wasn’t unlimited- ok that’s pretty basic. It also said that for $15 I could add 5 Gigs back on to last me till the next month. I left it for a couple of days, but with gps demands and application deadlines approaching, I decided to buy the extra 5 G. Immediately- nothing. So I turn my phone off and wait till the next day - still nothing - now I’ve called them and waited while they asked managers, and that 5 gig was spent *before* I bought it cause I had *gone over* so they will not refund me the $15 ( worth a bit more when you’re without a job) and I still do not have internet. I have to travel to free wifi to do basic things, and hope that I can find my way when I travel. I am very upset - I’ve learned my lesson - you get what you pay for 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Grate Value, but App Lacking Features

As of right now I am happy with this app mobile. I got a great promotion and I was able to get the phone that I want. The set up was easy and so far customer care has been helpful. However, Mint is embarrassing compared to coming from Verizon. There is no two factor authentication. This lack of security is not even something that should be a second thought in todays day in age. Now it make be a setting someone in this app’s website, but this should be right and center in Mint incase something were to ever happen. For this reason alone I cannot give Mint a five star. This is a major over sight, but besides from that the sim swapping on command in Mint and that stuff up was painless for me. Just because Ryan Reynolds owns the company doesn’t mean you guys need to slack on other important issues. I know you guys can do it. Don’t let me down.

Top MVNO provider

Full disclosure — I am no longer a this app customer, but only because I live in an area that doesn’t have good cellular coverage from T-Mobile (their coverage maps are overly optimistic/generous). I’m a fan of MVNOs, and I wanted try out the this app plan, as they offer a price point that is an outstanding value. I had some difficulty with the initial port-out, but that was caused by Sprint telling me that my phones were unlocked, which wasn’t true. After solving the port-out issue, we got to try out the service. Unfortunately, it wasn’t right for our family due to our location, but true to their word, they refunded my purchase. Kudos to this app for sticking to their 7-day money back guarantee.

If you are in an area with good T-Mobile coverage, and you have a T-Mobile (GSM) compatible phone, give this app a try.

Worth the change

I was a little hesitant at first...I have had ATT for years and was paying $165 a month for two phones for the unlimited plan. The only reason I had the unlimited plan was because of daughter who is constantly watching videos on her phone. Well my daughter now has her own plan so it was time to start shopping for a new plan. My girlfriend has had this app Mobile for a few months now and loves it. So I decided to give it a try....what can I say. I am sold...never have problems making calls or texting. The data I use is probably no more than 6 gigs a month because I am always on wifi....and don’t really watch videos on my phone except on WiFi. Now I pay $300 for the whole year for 12gigs of data a month. How can I complain....money in the bank.

Poor Service & Poor Customer Service

Waste of money. My service was great for the first couple weeks, then my calls were consistently dropped within 60 seconds, and I could not use data at all (when well within my limit). When going back and forth with customer service and even getting ignored at one point, I did everything to fix the service issue and it didn’t work. Then when I tried to get a refund I was denied and told their policy states I was outside of my window to get a refund. A horrible window of opportunity for a refund when the service becomes awful midway through the 3 months I bought and I tried handling within the second month, how can you not refund that? Don’t waste your time, the service is awful and they won’t give you your money back if you experience such poor service. You get what you pay for, but they could at least reconcile really poor service issues. If I could at least get my money back I’d be happy to remove this review.

Lacking Features

I am critiquing Mint based on my past experience with numerous carriers and their apps. What I quickly noticed about this this app Mobile app is it’s strength is in helping you set up a new service and/or selling you additional services. It is EXTREMELY LACKING in easily informing you on the important information as to how much data you have used, texts used, and minutes used. I’m assuming that since texts and minutes are unlimited this app doesn’t feel like we really need to know this.

I also have a free no-cost service plan with FeedomPop and their app presents exactly what is needed. You don’t have to hunt for the info (like this this app app does) and you are instantly presented with a big window showing everything you need to know! I am NOT criticizing this app Mobile’s service or value, I am only criticizing Mint of theirs. It could be much, much better.

I Love This Company

I've been using this app for two years now and as long as you can get a T-Mobile signal where you live they have the best prepaid prices around. I've never had any problems, their app and website always work, and their plan selections are great. It's good to see they are growing, which will probably bring even better deals in the future, and I'm really happy that the annoying problem I had where you always had to re-type your password every time you went to open Mint has now been fixed. Not many companies listen to their reviewers and fix small things like that so it's greatly appreciated. You can buy a 12 month plan and feel confident knowing you're going to get your money's worth.

Horrible customer service! Wifi calling not supported on iOS!

Tried this out with high hopes of replacing my AT&T service but what a waste of time. I found out that wifi calling is not supported on iOS devices for some reason. When I called them to inquire further, they said they didn’t know if or when they’d offer that. That’s pretty much a must have feature these days because you rarely get full bars inside a building, especially when visiting remote areas with limited coverage. When I asked the rep on the phone to verify that my service cancellation request had been received and was being processed he told me he couldn’t see anything I may or may not have done through their website on his system. That means their site is not integrated with their call center systems! What a joke. I didn’t expect the moon given their low prices but this really is a chop shop of an operation.

Very good, all-around service provider

Preface by saying I used to sell cellular service for the big 4 networks, as well as many MVNO pre paid providers, during my time with a nationwide electronics retailer.
- I really appreciate the low-cost, “bulk”, pay-in-advance approach of this app.
- have made two phone calls to ask “nerdy” technical questions, and the representatives answered quickly and accurately.
- No frustrating menus or recordings to wade through to reach an actual human!
- this app appears to be employing US DOMESTIC, well-trained customer service representatives! How cool is that?(again, this was my experience, having only made two calls)
- clean, simple to use mobile app and website. No fluff.
- hotspot included in your normal data allotments. Simple and easy to understand.
- works with iphone services, including visual voicemail.
- I was able to flawlessly and effortlessly port three numbers from AT&T. I’ve never seen an automated number port process be so painless!
- Keep up the good work this app Mobile/Ultra Mobile!

Setup and price is good, but I’d like WiFi calling for iPhone

I purchased the MintSim trial kit for $10, and after testing it out and picking a plan, I was refunded the $10 back for the trial kit - Not bad! Setup was a breeze and porting my number from Verizon was pretty straight forward. The broken-down monthly cost of this app Sim is hard to beat - it’s so great that I almost don’t mind the service being a bit spotty in some areas and getting 0 bars inside various buildings. I feel like this aspect could have easily been forgiven if I at least had a WiFi Calling option for my iPhone; however, this is not currently available for this app Sim. I’m now looking into another MVNO that might be a little more expensive, but at least has WiFi Calling for iPhone.

Works Great for Me!

I live in a small town in rural southeastern Wisconsin and have great coverage in all the places I normally frequent.I have noticed some gaps in the coverage when I get really far out in the back country, but it is nothing that affects my day-to-day enjoyment of this service. I had no problem porting my number over to this app Mobile. It was handled very quickly. I also am able to enjoy Wi-Fi calling on my iPhone. Thanks to this feature I am able to run with a 3GB plan and never come close to running out of data. I had some questions when I first started. I had no problem getting prompt help from customer service.

Great Service

this app uses T-Mobile network so the coverage is excellent. The price is great and I couldn’t find anything as good. Unlimited calls + 3GB internet is great for only $15. Initially you get that price if you pay 3 months upfront. Then I think you have to pay a whole year to keep it (otherwise it goes to $25, still a good deal). But $180 to not have to bother with a telephone bill is awesome.

You can port a number and they give you a sim so you can try the service for a week.

Another thing I liked was the clean interface of Mint . I hope it continues that way.

Basic service for an unbeatable price

Mint works pretty well for account management. It's no-frills, just like the service. The whole point of this app is to get T-Mobile service at a dirt cheap rate. DON'T sign up if you've got a complicated account with tons of lines and you travel internationally a lot. DO sign up if you want a simple bill for great service and you're willing to swap SIMs when traveling internationally. Also, you'll need YouMail for visual voicemails. I would say you need a little bit of technical knowledge to navigate the activation process (or ask your grandson to help).

By

Great service all the way around !!

Customer service and cell service is awesome !!
I’ve actually helped about 7 others transfer to this app as well. I tell everyone about the service and price options. Even had the people from Sams club cell section interested . I’ve had zero issues swapping from my iPhone X to the XS Max. Never had any dropped calls during my 3 months with this app either. There’s a couple stores I don’t have service but I welcome the silence lol. I’ve had way better service with the 3 months with this app than I did with the 15 years with AT&T..

Simply amazing

I was on a T-Mobile individual prepaid plan and I was looking for a way to get a T-Mobile (or, any other network’s) family plan price without the need to actually set up such a “family” with my friends. That’s when a quick Google search leaded me to Mintsim. It was an easy decision for me to switch to Mintsim because they were offering me more for less money (I am on a 10gb, 12 months plan now) and because that’s essentially the same T-Mobile network.

The activation process was incredibly smooth, I didn’t even think that the phone number can be transferred from another operator so easily. The website worked great (especially compared to my former networks operator).

Now, I just found out that there’s a Mintsim app. I quickly looked through it and it looks like it’s exactly the same functionality as on the website and Mint works great, too.

I think Mintsim is doing a great job! Please keep it up!

Horrible

I have only three days left of the three months using this service provider. They have cut the data each month saying that all data has been used. I have never used more than six gb of data on cell phone plan and this a 12gb plan. I downloaded an app to ensure that the data use has been accurately measured. A huge discrepancy. I suggest not using them unless you plan on using only a third of data you pay for. Funny thing is when all the bars were solid black, data service never worked. When I called they said the phone is the problem.

Horrible service provider. Lack of ethics. You can only get a refund within seven days. Of course they wait until after the seven days to start scamming. They are not legit and a scam in my opinion.

Tonight I tried to set up service but was unsuccessful .There was a page that said there was a FOX bot 24/7 but it did not work I would have called but I do not have service on my phone. That is what I was trying to set up tonight. I guess the Fox bot was taking a nap.

Was happy at first because I had not called for tech support. Had trouble with phone after a software push. Called four times, I would talk with someone outside the US everytime. They would put me on hold for ten minutes then hang up. They make Straight Talk look good!
