FALSE ADVERTISING

2022-05-21

WatchFacesApp is trash. Period. The “free” watch faces can’t be customized at all. It gives you the option to change the photo/background on the free faces, but prompts you to buy VIP if you want to download it. And even before that, if you’re just scrolling through the photo options, every 6th click/tap/photo change will prompt the VIP ad to pop-up. Without a doubt, no matter which watch face you’re trying to “customize” with their whole two customizing options (add a calendar or change the background), it always pops up after 6 taps. To the developers: if y’all just wanted money, charge a base fee for WatchFacesApp . Subscriptions are for things where you get continually supplied goods or services (NEW goods and services, i.e. video services, food delivery); NOT to have access to the same boring “customizable” watch faces month after month. 3.9 stars is not something y’all should be bragging about in the reply’s💀. it’s embarrassing. And forget about animated watch faces, you’re essentially creating a GIF that loops on your screen. And it’s not even a well-made GIF— it doesn’t complete a full loop, the time never changes. It’s useless, just like everything else on WatchFacesApp. Probably made by a app-farm who spits out hundreds of useless apps every month, raking in all the advertising funds and subscription costs. Save yourself the trouble, DO NOT DOWNLOAD‼️

Exceptionally deceptive

2022-06-22

Deceptive. The animation & watch data that they present in their sample animations is deceptive. When a watch face is created the Apple Watch data that is part of the watch face is created as part of the background picture. It is never live nor updated. This is deceptive as it shows features not available. Apple allows the changing of the backdrop of the watch face they do not currently support actual custom watch faces, hands full animations or Apple Watch data displays. After the short animation sequence the watch becomes static & features like hands disappear. The animation is about half of the runtime that the sample animation runs. This is following the Watch Maker instructions exactly. In order to see a brief animation the user must long-press on the watch display. I have found that when the watch is raised that the animation or background fail to activate. Ultimately Apple needs to give developers access to watch data, hands & animation for truly amazing watch faces.

Limited use for Apple Watch

2022-07-23

Can’t use analog second hands, attractive fonts on the watch faces don’t work on Apple Watch, you only get White apple default font and location for Time/date. Battery charging graphics on all the watch faces don’t work on Apple Watch. The weather DOES work!.
Could be a fantastic app, IF the customization that apparently works on every other smart watch were available on the Apple Watch. Until it does, not really worth the $$.
Update: all the excuses by the developer regarding statements about Apple Watch limitations don’t change the fact that WatchFacesApp takes advantage of people looking for watch customization by only giving them pretty watch backgrounds...something you can do without spending any $$. Lowering rating, deleting app and kissing off my money

This app should be removed from the App Store.

2022-08-24

I downloaded WatchFacesApp and out of everything I found one watch face I really like. When you preview the watch face, it shows the current time and date which leads you to believe the hands and time are all compatible with the watch. But it isn’t until after you pay for the face that it shows you how to set it up. I followed the instructions and it shows how to make the advertised watch face an animated background for your watch while the digital time displays over it. In no way do the hands display the time. The hands just run in a looped video which isn’t even a full rotation around the clock as displayed in the preview. It only does less than half a rotation and starts over again. And at the bottom of the instructions after you purchase the watch face it says this: Apple Watch does not support fully custom watch faces with moving hands or dynamic details such as heart rate, pedometer, compass, etc
I understand WatchFacesApp exists for a reason. There are watches compatible with WatchFacesApp. But the Apple Watch is in no way compatible with WatchFacesApp and should be removed from the Apple App Store. It is a complete scam for this company to state “now compatible with Apple Watch” on their app page and is total false advertising. I want my $2 back and will be reporting WatchFacesApp to Apple and requesting it be removed from WatchFacesApp Store

Misleading

2022-09-25

No body reads the description just looks at the pictures and these make you believe your watch will work like these faces, they do not just an animated picture. Too bad most people like me are dumb and find out only after playing the money for WatchFacesApp . If i could easily return WatchFacesApp i would but apple doesn’t make it easy why would they. Don’t fall for WatchFacesApp, developer is purposely misleading they know what they are doing.

Update: they didn’t even read my review they gave an automated response i said nobody reads the description in my review this company is garbage they know it I’m going to take the extra time to get a refund hope you do too if your reading this. Garbage app even when you get it to work the clock is in the way of something and looks like trash, Because it’s a trash app.

I like the faces but weather doesn’t work with iPhone

2022-10-26

I like the faces on WatchFacesApp better than any other watch face app I’ve found. It’s fairly easy to use and the prices are reasonable. That being said one of the main things I like on a watch face is weather. I really like the faces that have an animation of the weather conditions. They just won’t update for IOS. I’ve tried googling fixes and none of them actually work. If WatchFacesApp devs can walk me through how to fix this issue I’d happily give it five stars.

Update

I have been to the suggested wiki multiple times and tried it. None if it works. It updated the weather once and even when I manually tell it to update nothing happens. I’ve tried changing all settings. I’ve used other watch face apps and none of them have this issue. The solutions for handling how WatchFacesApp gets updates for weather is inelegant and clunky defeating the intended purpose of having it consistently and easily updated right on the watch face.

I down graded WatchFacesApp to 1 star. Having to manually update the weather and settings is tedious and until the can make it work from the watch like other apps do it will remain there. Over all if you have an iPhone or Apple Watch it’s a waste of money.

Rip off

2022-11-27

WatchFacesApp worked when I first got it, then I got suckered into upgrading and now it’s a joke. It freezes all the time and I can’t find what I paid to upgrade. Hard to use and hard to figure out, don’t waste your time or money.
It was working when I first got WatchFacesApp , however, since I paid extra money this week for the upgrade, every time I click on any watch face I get three dots that show up in the center of my screen like it’s processing and the dots seem to undulate, but nothing happens. This goes on for several minutes, no way to cancel or back out of the selection. The only way to back out of this seemingly frozen screen is to delete WatchFacesApp and download it again. This happened multiple times with most watch faces I tried to look at. After at least seven attempts, I GAVE UP. Not exactly sure why me, but glad your other 200,000 users were successful in using WatchFacesApp .

Worse App Ever Bought from Apple

2022-12-28

Simply put, it doesn’t work for the Apple Watch and I question why it appears in WatchFacesApp Store? It’s a rip off. As soon as I get a receipt, I will complain to Apple and ask for return of $$. It doesn’t even rate a 1 star. The developer claims it works but Apple doesn’t support moving hands, battery, heart rate, additional farces beyond watchOS. So, when these are available, I may try it again.

I did try it again and it not only does Apple prohibit moving hands (and therefore Watchmaker imposes a digital time over the watch face which make it look crummy), Watchmaker also has to impose it over the face for a digital time! So, clearly the watch doesn’t work for iOS, either because of a self-imposed limitation by Watchmaker or imposed by Apple.

My recommendation is don’t buy it at all or until moving hands and other features (like battery, heart rate) are allowed by Apple. Again, why was this in WatchFacesApp Store at all?

Very disappointed

2023-01-29

I always wondered why Apple wasn’t a little more creative with the faces they make available for their AppleWatch, or why they didn’t change what they offer. Apple is known for the designs of their products, and, though I love their products, they have been increasingly disappointing after the point of sale.

So I looked for ways that I could customize my watch faces and came across WatchFacesApp. It seemed that this would be great. So many faces that I could tweak to my own liking so I could change the look of my watch every so often.

Not so.

There is nothing to customize within the faces offered here. Almost everyone I tried didn’t really work with my AppleWatch. My watch lost all of the features I liked to have on my face. They were no longer right at my fingertips. Also, I cannot stand having the Apple time on top of another watch face, whether it be digital or analog. I choose the face because I liked it and wanted to see it. I didn’t want it to be in the background.

There is really nothing that WatchFacesApp can do that I couldn’t already do on my own. I regretted this purchase almost immediately. Very disappointed and wish I could have my money back.

Poo-Poo 100%

2023-03-02

Purchased the "Premium" Pack (one of the 10,000 one-time, "special" offers - each at a different price) on a different device, but after logging-in on my current device WatchFacesApp doesn't reflect that. So instead I am pummeled with "Go Premium or VIP" ads at literally every turn. So I try to make a test watch face. You add a base layer, OK. You try to add any other layer, you get an ad. Close the ad and your layer goes away. Over-and-over. Conclusion: either owners are totally obnoxious and greedy, or they should switch to humans instead of potatoes for their developers. I mean, the company is "Potato Powered Apps." Nothing against potatoes, they are yummy and all, but maybe not the best coders? Just a thought.
UPDATE- Received an email from Dev telling me how easy it is to purchase a VIP package. Maybe English isn't their first language - I understand that from where I work. I already bought one, but might as well thrown the money out the window. So I tried it again & still the same. Buh-bye now...

Save money, take Live Photo

2023-03-31

Yes I have seen the other reviews and the developer response AFTER I paid the premium cost. I didn’t bother looking because it shows on your watch faces things like phone and watch battery power on the face. Yes developer, spare me your repetitive response of “it is in the description”, however it is really sending a false sense of functionality. Why would I dig through your description when it obviously shows certain functions to be working, and why would I want just a picture of battery power? It was clearly done to get people to pay a price. It seems from other reviews, no one else got a refund, another indication of a scam app or you just don’t care about your customers. Either way you got your $4 and the last minutes I will spend on your crap is writing this review.
Update: I found where my $4 went to, paying people to put fake positive reviews and someone else to cut and paste the same response of “it is in the description”. Seriously, at least put somewhat realistic sounds names in your fake reviews, not a bunch of random letters.

Always read reviews before buying.

2023-05-02

I almost always read the reviews before paying for an app or upgrading to “premium.” I decided to bypass this one night because I figured that someone was finally smart enough to have options to change and have great options to buy for an Apple Watch. Well, that’s not the case whatsoever. This is not completely “compatible” with Apple Watch as they show on the actual app. This is a waste of money if you’re trying to use it with IOS and an Apple Watch. As much as they say it’s compatible with the bs replies to other reviews, I promise it’s not in the way you expect it to be. They clearly aren’t smart enough to make an actual living while leaving customers happy with the development, but they’re smart enough to put things in very small print that most people (like myself), typically never read just to scam you out of $5+. I’m not worried about my money back at this point. They clearly are so miserable with themselves that they need it more than I do. But to save yourself, please always read the reviews before buying an app. I definitely have learned my lesson.

Terrible Application for the phone AND watch

2023-06-02

If I can’t even get past a few screens on just browsing watch faces before getting attacked by ads and ‘premium membership upgrades’ the WatchFacesApp is definitely not worth if. I’m not going to pay $50 of my hard earned money just to get access to LOOK at the watch faces and still nickel and dime me to death with forking out more money for the watch faces. Why would I pay a membership for something and get crap watch faces and pay more money for something digital?! This whole app seems shady cause it will ask multiple times for sharing data and location information (which I said yes to but became suspicious after the 8th prompt after I spent only 10 mins looking around in WatchFacesApp .) a little advice is don’t push your product so hard on people who just want watch faces. Set WatchFacesApp up to remind them for a membership every time they open WatchFacesApp instead of 1 to 2 min intervals. I’m uninstalling WatchFacesApp for sure , the designs are not worth it, don’t fit on my watch and if it’s a live wallpaper it’s pixelated to where it looks low grade at some points. Not worth my money.

100% Misleading

2023-07-04

You’d expect that you’re paying to get a clock face that would actually tell you the time… All you really get is a “background” that’s “animated”, but once you pay the one time fee you will then realize that the watch is only displaying a looped picture of the watch face that you wanted from the exact time you created the face (example: if you create a watch face at 7:30, the time will always read 7:30… so it’s literally pointless) don’t be fooled by this company, WatchFacesApp is actual garbage. Learn from my $6 mistake and don’t even bother. If you filter the reviews to show the negative ones, you’ll see WatchFacesApp ’s developer has left replies to most people stating that they all have “many inaccuracies” but trust me and all the other critical reviewers, this ain’t it chief. 3.9 stars out of 5 is also probably fake. I’d bet that they used thousands of burner iTunes accounts to boost their ratings number because there is literally no way that that many people think WatchFacesApp is worth anything more than a good chuckle and nothing else. P.S.: to the developer of WatchFacesApp: don’t even bother replying unless you’re going to offer me a refund :). Thanks!

DECEPTIVE- NO APPLE WATCH SUPPORT

2023-08-04

UPDATE: Ok, so I noticed several other people didn’t realize it doesn’t work w Apple Watch, and the developer kept claiming there’s a disclaimer in the second line of the description, so I went back to look. Turns out, that’s not the case. It’s in the 3rd paragraph down AFTER WatchFacesApp previews, and you don’t even see it unless you tap the “more” button. If, like 90% of people, you don’t read every single line of WatchFacesApp description before downloading an app, there’s no way of seeing it until it’s too late. The fact that I had to actually SEARCH for said “disclaimer”, is pretty sad. After so many reviewers making the same mistake and requesting a refund, you’d think they’d make that very important caveat a little more prominent.

There are a few reasons I gave this 1 star:
1) Despite being exclusive to iOS, it doesn’t support the Apple Watch (which makes NO sense), and they don’t even tell you. I had to figure that out through trial and error.
2) There aren’t ANY decent free watch faces. Even if you buy the premium version, it doesn’t cover 1/2 the faces. The majority you have to pay an additional $1.99 PER FACE
3) Worst of all, if there is a face you’d actually consider spending money on, you can’t even preview it on your watch to see if you’d like it before purchasing it.

Luckily I tried one of the 5 (incredibly basic, unattractive) free faces, and learned it wasn’t compatible w Apple Watch before I made any purchases.

No go for Apple Watch

2023-09-05

I get it that Apple doesn’t allow third-party watch faces, but WatchFacesApp makes it seem like they do. All the free trial options are just simple backgrounds or you could create yourself. The problem with that is you can’t test one of the faces that actually looks like a watch face without buying it.

So I sacrifice $.99 to be 100% sure that these watch faces that look like actual watches would not work on my Apple Watch and sure enough it just saves a background image can you load it up in the Apple Watch background watch face which looks ridiculous.

So to be clear, no WatchFacesApp will not work with your Apple Watch except to provide you background images for the theme apple offers that simply lays the time over a background image.

Great app! But 3 stars...

2023-10-07

Pros- the customization is amazing! Even though Apple does not support open script customization and what not, it’s still a pretty decent app that you can customize your face watch.

Cons- it is free, but does not tell you which options are only for premium. Clicking through you find which are and which are not. I also got a “one time deal of $5.99 for premium” I bought it. And still cannot use all the options. It is a subscription and I can’t stand that. It should just be one time price if you don’t want the new wallpapers. I am kinda upset that I spent that but will be more upset if apple will not allow open script in the future...

Overall great app! Three stars because of apple and subscription.

Ya adds but worth it

2023-11-07

When I was looking for some watch faces I saw this one and I was reading the views and I downloaded it and ya it has A LOT of adds but it is worth it because now I have some faces that I genuinely like and I am not looking at the same ones so WatchFacesApp might look like a scam but it works well but if you are the tile of person that is picky then this is not for you because only like 200 is available for people that don’t pay so ya if you pay then you should be fine but I don’t pay and it works fine for me.

iPhone Interface w Wear OS

2023-12-09

I downloaded the free trial having seen several people on the Tag Heuer Forum speak highly of and exhibit awesome looking watch faces produced by WatchFacesApp. There was a little learning curve, but Watchmaker has a web site to walk the user through the process. That plus trial and error paid off. I do have an iPhone and the interface w Wear OS is not perfect, including for WatchFacesApp. I suspect that will change and get better in time. Also, I’d like to see an option for the watch to get weather through my iPhone and not the WiFi/GPS. At present you cannot get weather from your iPhone for the created watchfaces. The WiFi turned on all the time uses more battery life and the watch may not always be in a WiFi zone. Once those 2 items are fixed, WatchFacesApp rating will go from 4 to 5 stars as it really is a very powerful, fun product the Smartwatch industry needed!!!!!

Watchmaker

2024-01-09

I can’t get WatchFacesApp to work and have already wasted $4.99 buying premium watch faces. Additionally, nowhere does it say how to get support. I have an IWatch and would like a refund for buying the premium package.

I’ve heard back from Apple with a link to show how WatchFacesApp is supposed to work but I have chosen one of the premium faces I purchased and get it ready to save and there’s a black square with 3 white dots that “hangs up” my phone and once I get to that point I have to close out of everything to get my phone working again. Not happy!!!!

UPDATE: I decided to delete and re-install app and it works perfectly!!!

Not for Apple Watch!!!

2024-11-15

WatchFacesApp is not properly designed to handle the Apple Watch interface properly. Animations do not work, and times are located in inappropriate spots on the watch face. I did not know this till after purchasing. If you have an Apple Watch do not buy this product/app!!!! Update... Even after receiving a communication from this company saying that when Apple watch io5 came out that the above would be fixed.. It still has issues. The time is still overlapped in the wrong area, it’s in the wrong font and color most of the time as well. Also, the animated hands show only partial movement much like a “Live Photo” option. So, my recommendation until this company fixes the issues listed above is simply DO NOT BUY WatchFacesApp IF YOU HAVE AN APPLE WATCH 2 OR 3.

Great scam, but a scam none the less

2024-11-15

I was super excited to finally find a way for new watch faces on my Apple Watch. WatchFacesApp is extremely misleading, even stating “now compatible for Apple Watch”. All it is are short animated gifs of watch faces. The hands don’t display actual time, other features are just a static image as well. Like the date, battery percentages and everything. WatchFacesApp looks like it would be really amazing for non-Apple watches, but I think the developer should be forced to remove that it supports Apple watches. I will be asking Apple for a refund of my $5.99 premium purchase price, and believe Apple should look into this false advertising, and refund ALL of the bad reviews. If you look, we are ALL saying the exact same thing! Clearly, the developer is deceiving customers.

Deceptive, even after developer reached out to me.

2024-11-15

WatchFacesApp is great if you want a new face for the Apple Watch. It doesn’t work with the Apple Watch as an actual watch. It’s simply wallpaper and doesn’t just come out and say that.

The developer reached out to me. WatchFacesApp works on my phone. My issue is the way it’s presented. I was expecting a workable watch face, not a wallpaper with some hands that would spin in an animated fashion. I still think it’s deceptive even though way down in the description it says it’s a wallpaper. The animation and photos make it appear as a working watch face. If the developer would say that initially people would know exactly what they’re getting. In that sense it’s a decent app. But I still think the way it’s presented is deceptive.

Changing Faces

2024-11-15

Paid for the full app. Was able to download 1 watch face. Every time I try to download another watch face I get an error message that goes away so quickly I can’t read it.

UPDATE

After writing the above review the developers contacted me with solutions. I have been able to download and use several watch faces. I gave it four stars because I shouldn’t have to make changes to my settings to get the faces to download. Thanks for your quick response and telling what I needed to do to get it to work.

Best Samsung Watch Face Selection App Anywhere!

2024-11-15

This is hands down the best app currently available for finding watch faces for your Samsung Watch. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands of Samsung Watch Faces are available through this interactive app. You can view WatchFacesApp library or even find watch faces using WatchFacesApp search function. Obviously some watch faces are designed better than others. But there are so many to choose from, you could spend hours, days or weeks searching through them all. I'd really like to see ratings, user reviews and a longer list of categories though. Four stars until then. Still, a great app!

I've used this app very successfully for years. Recently I accidentally deleted the iOS watchmaker companion app off the watch. I still have it on my iPhone but not able to find it on the galaxy store app for the Samsung galaxy watch. I've searched everywhere. Any help please as I've spent hours making some lovely watch faces which I now can't reload. Many thanks
