New management

I have had an account with you for years. All the staff(with the exception of the current) always made me come back. They kept an eye out for things I would mention I wanted on my wish list. I always felt like such a valued customer. I felt like they were interested in keeping me a customer. If I ever had a bump in the road payment wise they would help me solve the problem. Any time I got something new, they kept me updated as to when a delivery could be expected. Ever since the change, I get pestered the day of the payment. I get talked down to. I get reminded of my terms. Two payments came out of my account. I was told there was no way that could happen. I was refunded one of the payments. I was told by SSI that I made too much money and that the 2700 payment that was due to me in 3 days wasn’t going to come. It’s put me in a rough position. I am digging my way out. I saw a bedroom set that was used that I was interested i. I was told about the 6.07 start payment towards the set. They told me they would take in out. 4-5 days later I was calling to find out what was going on with my delivery. I didn’t receive a call to let me know. Instead I had to call them to be told. Because of Covid we can’t find anyone to deliver it. We set another date then nothing. I don’t even think I want it anymore. Customer since 2017 I have given a lot of money to rent a center. Probably pay the things I have left and be done.

Worst service ever!! First and last time renting to own! NEVER AGAIN!!

Worst service ever!! If I could give zero stars I would have. They start off being nice so that they can make a sale and then they began to be rude. The Grenada store is the worst. Their manager Ron is most disrespectful ever! He had the audacity to tell me, like sometimes people can’t be late making payments because of busy schedule and forget, that he has to pay his bills on time so I need to be doing the same! On top of that he constantly harasses me about putting my stuff on auto pay after multiple times I have told him no because sometimes I pay online or might use a different card. They call you on the day that your payment is due, like really. He not only calls me 3-5 times a day, but he also calls me after store hours as well. This is very unprofessional and I do not take harassment lightly at all. Trust and believe this will not be the last time you hear from me because you have most definitely earned the next legal actions that are to come. I will stick to buying my items cash instead of going this route.

Trash

No way to add agreement number and pay online .. company has been the worst when it comes to rent to own .. not only are there rates extreme compared to other say (great rentals) but they also hound you for payment worse then any company I’ve ever dealt with .. I ordered 9000$ worth of merchandise from them paid everything but 1100$ and my wife encountered a accident in which I had to take work off for a month and they called every day for 3 weeks hounding me saying they were going to repossess my items and this and that .. I will pay this 1100 due to the fact it’s my children’s bed set that is last due but after that I will not be doing buisness again with them .. I understand many people screw companies like this over but when your a customer that hasn’t missed a single payment in 8000$ worth it’s absolutely absurd to be treated like this .. imo find a local owned place like great rentals or buy your items outright DONT TAKE YOUR BUISNESS HERE

Very Rude…

So after dealing with Rent A Center for some time I can honestly say that not once in all these years have I ever considered leaving until now sending back everything not paid off which hurts me more than then but it’s the principal. I’ve waited for a district manager to call who never did the store manager never returned my calls instead every time I call I get the same disrespectful ill mannered rep each time. I know this is for RentACenter but if this will stop one person from going to RAC then it’s worked. Just know when you pay for benefits plus it covers nothing and then they make you sign all these papers with just saying oh it is standard stuff nothing important and then decide to tell you that you signed it so your responsible. Again perhaps that was me being trusting seeing how they haven’t up until now decided to turn their back on me when I needed them most. All this to say if you have another option take it you’ll thank me later.

Poor Service and Product

I ordered a pre-rented whirlpool washer and dryer set that I was never able to use because the washer would not drain. I literally had to use a bucket to drain the water in it and I refuse to constantly stand by the washer forever and dump water. I told the employees about it and they kept changing the dates to come fix it. I waited two weeks and no one came, so I decided to stop paying. They called me immediately when they noticed I stopped my payments. I told them I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for them to come pick it up to fix it because I haven’t been able to use it. I mentioned that at this point I don’t want it anymore and they should come to get it. I asked if I would get a full refund from the moment I started paying on it because I was never able to use it due to them not checking to make sure the product worked correctly before renting it to me. They refused to give me a refund. I wasted my money for a product that I was never able to use. I am LIVID!

Cliffdale location

This location is the absolute worse. They switch management CONSTANTLY. The DM I assume Mr Lawrence is an absolute jerk. He is very disrespectful and should not in any sort of management. I have worked in retail 10+ years and he is a joke! Reached out frustrated because my washer has not been working for going on 3 months, upon calling I was dealing with Ms Sequoia who was actually helpful… until she had me on speaker and her boss took over the conversation. I am currently still making payments on a washer that does not work, because he told me he would “halt my payments” and push them out further. When I expressed this wasn’t fair and I could continue payments to have it paid off (almost there,) he said well it sounds like that’s what you want so I’m glad we could get it worked out. Have a good day. No resolution or anything. This location should be shut down as they go thru changes of people EVERY WEEK! This is not my first problem with them, and I unfortunately don’t think it will be the last until I no longer have to do business with them.

Horrible all the way around

I was “approved” and they scheduled a delivery date…they never showed up never called when I called them they told me they needed an updated copy of my business license. I don’t have a business license nor do I own my own business. They transferred me to the manager who had a terrible attitude and he too told me I needed to give them my business license. I explained again I don’t have one I’m an independent contractor. He then proceeded to tell me if I have a 1099 I need a business license…after 10 minutes of telling him I do not need that I already have them my tax return information he said ya know what we aren’t going to deliver your stuff at all and hung up on me. They proceeded to attempt to take payments after he refused to deliver my items and said I needed to send a self addressed stamped envelope to him so he could send me the cancellation paperwork…called the corporate number and filed a complaint with them. I bought a washer and dryer on marketplace saved myself a ton of money and headache. Worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Biggest rip off if I could give them -20 stars I would

So first I bought a refrigerator used mind you for $2300. It was the top was the refrigerator side-by-side doors while the bottom was the freezer and icemaker. As soon as I got home I noticed that the icemaker kept falling down before I knew it. I will text back if I bought it. I now pay for the entire refrigerator not knowing that my warranty would ask if I can. I had to feed off a week after purchase. Then I called the company to explain how the icemaker had completely stopped working, and was like hinged from the freezer didn’t when they told me that they could not do anything about it that I had paid the full price and now that it was paid off I did not have a warranty given that it was a week after. Oh well, it gets worse. About two months after purchase the freezers stopped getting cold. I lost a lot of food because of this because I did not know for about a day and a half and had to throw out all of my frozen meat. I decided to turn it off by unplugging it and hope that it was reset itself. Wrong thing to do now the refrigerator did not work either and I was out $2300 with sales tax for a refrigerator that I had for two weeks! These guys are complete con artists!!!

My local Rent-A-Center Framingham mass

Not happy with them I did not order anything and they took money out of my account. Somehow they let somebody use my account information and stuff to get. I would never send anybody there. They took money out of my bank. I sent emails no responses. Also to let you know you called them the number they give you an email and you can talk to anybody. Very rude people told me I have to wait. 48 hours for them to call me back their fault for allowing this to happen not mine. All I want is my money back in the cost to stop the harassing cost. Open it this way they’re not doing nothing. They don’t care. I still haven’t heard nothing back. They just take money out of your account. Don’t even because they had everything on file. They use that to let someone open my account I would never ever use Rent-A-Center to expensive you paid twice or three times more than what you would in the store, they don’t help their customers figure out where who has the merchandise and why money was taken out of my account never got anything or never heard anything good nice they refunded me but not them they did nothing for me and won’t cause that’s all they care about is money and not people

Worst.

I ordered a bed in October that was supposed to be delivered by October 31st. Late November I was getting a bit frustrated. The night before Thanksgiving they said they would bring my bed. They brought pieces to a full size and half twin size so headed back to store. They set it all up and it was the wrong bed. They said they had ordered the right one and discounted a couple payments a few dollars. February and later I said okay I’ve been paying more money for a different bed and I just want to return it and get my money back. They told me that wasn’t an option. So I’ve been paying more money for a bed I didn’t even order or want or sign an agreement for since then. Then I ordered a bed set for my room from my other store. They didn’t show up the delivery day and then brought me a bed with a used display mattress. “I’m paying new price” they said they order it. Then I go to get in the end table drawer a couple days later and see that they have a foot long section of this bed DUCT TAPED. I haven’t got a response to wanting the same bed NEW just options of beds I don’t want they have on display. Insane. Duct tape on a “brand new bed” they offered me $400 off a bed they are charging me over a thousand dollars in interest anyways. Seriously the worst service I’ve ever experienced.

Customer service

I would give it a better rating but I can’t. Some people just aren’t made to do customer service! This is what happens when you hire people that isn’t passionate about ensuring customers feel valued. I have never been late nor have ever felt devalued as a customer. I get that not every customer is going to have compassion or respect for employees. However the customers that don’t disregard your employees should have a great experience with your company. But that’s not the case with mines. I constantly receive text, calls to remind me of my bill due. However never have I ever receive calls & texts the day of your due date to pay your bill or else. I would expect this if I was a day late or a couple of days late on my bill. But never the day of the due date. Please hire people that will represent your company as such. Don’t go against your company motto and treat customers as if they are just a stranger on the street that needs to be treated as criminals. Not every customer you have are bad. You will never gain the respect or grow as a company with those type of employees representing your business. After my contract is paid in full, this will be the last thing I will purchase from rent a center. Please do BETTER as a whole & treat others as you would like to be treated.

Absolutely horrible

RentACenter works great but can’t say the same for my local store in Dunkirk n.y. I can’t even begin to describe the horrendous way you are treated by the staff at this place!!! They refuse to give me the parts for my ebike that they didn’t send with it. Yet they come to my home banging on my door the date my payment is due!! The manager mike does not like me and he treats me worst than u can imagine seeing this is a business!! I have no idea why as I never met this guy nor do I even know him. And if I’m a day late omg he says he’s sending someone for my bike and just get this over with and turn it in. All this and they absolutely refuse to give me my parts I tried calling corporate twice and they told me I would receive a call back by a district manager and of course nothing. Mike the manager told me to go ahead and call corporate he don’t have to listen to them and he don’t care what they say!! Rent a center is a horrible business and I would STRONGLY advise going to Aaron’s or arona. UPDATE I’m not sure what the reason but the manager has been a lot more respectful towards me and has been treating me like I would expect as a customer. I want to be totally truthful about my experience so I feel I have to include this!! They probably read this but I’m glad things changed

Shout out to our local RAC!

Hi from CT! I’d like to take the opportunity to write a review for RAC.., they deserve it! My local RAC is in New London, CT, a few towns over from where I reside. “My RAC,” has been in the same location for 20+ years. I have fulfilled many contracts over the years for items I still have today. Every experience with each new contract was as flawless a the first. The employees are friendly & helpful. They truly go above & beyond to accommodate their customers needs & requests. You can always call the store with any question(s), they’re always enthusiastically helpful. I just paid off a gorgeous TV last week. The contact went by so fast & now I’m able to own a great, high end TV. I really appreciate the option of RAC vs traditional retail. It’s so nice to have the RAC alternative when our family needs something that’s a considered purchase. Very good work RAC Friends! I will continue to do business there for years to come! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not a Punishment by a Switch But a Game to Play

Got a new one from Rent A Center in Sand Springs, OK. I got it in October or November 2023. I always shop early but I quesadilla not this time because they already sold out. My salesman went above and beyond looking and calling other
Rent A Center s for one. He found one within that week. The Switch Game System and games was hit. It is small but mighty game system and it’s still working 5 months now. But that’s what I expect and all the products I have bought from Rent A Center since the early 80’s. From the same salesperson until last year , he’s at another RAC. What I’m really saying it’s a good store to shop at and the merchandise is dependable. If you’re still buying the merchandise and something goes wrong it will be fixed. Also, they deliver and the item is setup for you. I love RAC and their merchandise. Switch on up to a RAC.

Trying to buy a tv.

***Denver managers requested a copy of my lease be emailed to them personally if I wanted to buy from any store in Denver.***
I tried to buy a tv from them and they requested I emailed them directly a copy of my lease among other things that arent part of the application nor required to make an agreement with the company, when I tried to go thru the online process, they would cancel it before I could have anything delivered, by far the most racist treatment I ever received in any place with lack of customer service from all the management team that allow this to happen, I have several calls recorded of them demanding these documents among other things, after the sour experience I went to conns who didn’t request anything other than the delivery address and payment method in order for me to buy a tv, I’m very pleased with how easy they made it for me to buy, don’t waste your time with them and just buy the thing you want out right or go to someone else!

Rent A Center is the best place I have ever went to get my living room suit and other house products that they are the best when I say the best they’re very polite. They are very fast to greet you as you walk through the door they’re very good at what they do. They are very gentle with your belongings as they deliver them I have no complaints on these guys. Let’s just say they are the best no one will ever I’ll beat them in their prices. Oh yeah, let’s talk about prices because they are the best too. They have very good quality and it last forever and it’s affordable who don’t like affordable we all do Rent A Center will always be my personal favorite. I will always go back to Rent-A-Center when I give you a price that is your price. It don’t change like all these other scammers do I love them?

Ken

I have to tell you that the general manager over there Ken is awesome. He is always there to help me. I’ve been with you guys for many many years and I’ve paid off a lot of items with you. My husband was in a bad car accident three days ago and it put me in a bind financially, so I called Ken and asked if there was anything he could do as far as lowering the payment just a little bit for this week, and without even hesitation, he took care of it and gave him my debit card, and he did what he had to do to help me. He is an awesome employee that you have. You should keep him and don’t let anybody stay on the way from you giving him a five star and giving that a five star because it’s been never a time that I’ve been unsatisfied.

Rent-A-Center is the best

Hey everybody I’m Gladys I have done business at the Rent-A-Center in Queens in Jamaica Ny at the Merrick Blvd store and the service is ABSOLUTELY GREAT Jonna is great to work with I just moved into my new apartment and I needed living room,and a bedroom set I told her what I would like and she and her boss really HOOKED ME UP!!! Also I got a BEAUTIFUL RECLINER that is heated and messages she ordered the recliner for me even gave suggestions on picking one that goes with my color scheme just beautiful she took into account my income bundled it and now I have BRAND NEW FURNITURE that Ms really affordable I recommend this store the furniture and customer service they are the best and highly recommend if u live in Queens Ny the Merrick Blvd store in Jamaica is the best bet to go to. I thank you for all the beautiful furniture and God Bless y’all.

These folks are not workers they have become part of a fun family i see they are such nice people to me . I have always sense day 1 gotten nothing but the best treatment from all of them. I do have few that have actually become my personal life friends as well , the people here are amazing they have found me stuff in a nick of time and got me best deals showed me ways to save my furniture or appliances lifecycle thats what a good place does keeps their customers happy and these folks are good at that , one more thing is that if u have a issue or need help they come out quickly and work in a timly fashion but to be honest ive not had reason to call im big on using my cupons so i pay off i get something else rinse cycle repeat

Hassle free business

These ppl are great! I’ve never had an issue and always get treated right! From Julian to Rob & the lovely Nancy ( gone too soon and never forgotten ) to the young lady ( sorry I forget her name) to the delivery service guys. Hands down best interaction and service I’ve gotten. They even worked so hard bringing in furniture and had energy to have a nerf war with my kids while putting it together. I will miss Nancy’s beautiful face and personality ♥️, but this will still be my go to store for anything with a payment plan. Just make your payments and no problems. I’ve been with these guys for yrs and never once had any issues, they work with you as much as they possibly can. Thanks guys 🧁
