Essentially worthless

What a disgrace. It lets you "save" workouts to RhythmSYNC , but the saved file disappears when the monitor is not connected to the phone. That's useless. Also, RhythmSYNC won't open the file so you can't see what's in it, and it connects to precious few apps that supposedly do open the file, and so far nothing works. I've "connected" RhythmSYNC to the Apple HealthKit, but the workout I recorded does not transfer over so I can't read it there. I cannot find any iPhone apps that will open it. I exported the workout, and it saves as a "*.fit" file that no programs on my Mac can open. The documentation is useless and says nothing about this. It does not connect to My FItness Pal which is one of the best most universal fitness and diet apps out there. I tried connecting to something called "Today's Plan," which shows up as an option in the Scosche app, but that software is, if anything, even more useless and poorly coded than the software for this device. Nice device. Junk software. And without good software the device is junk too.

Crashes when you try to share recorded data

What’s the point of recording data if I can’t share it to my training apps?? App crashes everytime I try to share with TrainingPeaks. What a piece of trash app.

Also your “recording data” doesn’t record based on my HR zones, which I set manually and updated the monitor with those metrics, supposedly. Like the record on the device is literally useless if it uses the incorrect HR zones.

Very problematic. Almost constant disconnecting.

When the monitor works it is great, the issue is that it only stays connected 10% of the time.

I’ve tried every solution I can find - pair with a different phone, different Apple Watch, reboot, update, reinstall, etc. and it still disconnects.

App can’t find the monitor

RhythmSYNC is a piece of crap. It always says I can’t find the monitor when my phone has found it and the Bluetooth is on and the monitor is tracking my heart rate with my peloton. RhythmSYNC is the only thing that doesn’t seem to know the monitor is right next to it and I cannot understand why. Such a disappointment.

ANT+ works, nothing else

Last year the Rhythm 24 and RhythmSYNC worked. Now with firmware update and app update, the Rhythm 24 still works with my Garmin watch (ANT connection), iPhone Bluetooth still recognizes the device and appears to pair, but the Scosche app doesn’t “see” the monitor and HRVelite also stopped working with it. So if your app and monitor work now, I suggest not updating anything.

All the bugs

Folks, your app is buggy to the point of being disrespectful. Custom HR zones: the selectors are completely disconnected from the numbers shown. Hitting the Update button has no discernible effect. (Also making us scroll to the exact HR value for each zone, starting at 40, is slightly cruel.) And how about some sensible defaults? Height 3 ft, weight 20 lbs, birthday this year? Please try harder.

doesn’t work, unable to connect to monitor

Can’t find my monitor, which is definitely on and recognized via Bluetooth, and an app by another developper is capable of retrieving its data ! claims issue with Bluetooth settings (if you manage to read the message before it disappears, yet RhythmSYNC is configured to access Bluetooth).
I thought I’d give it a try, but a waste of time trying to debug the problem

Throw the whole app away

The device works fine, I use almost exclusively for connecting to my SoulCycle at home bike to keep track of my HR. RhythmSYNC is useless though. It took weeks for me to even get it to recognize that my phone was connected via Bluetooth and it promptly dropped the connection. None of the functions work either, when I try to click the different sections nothing happens.

Brand new device and the app isn’t functional

I just bought my first device from this company, and I can’t even get it to work. RhythmSYNC is so buggy that it is completely unusable. Most of the menu items don’t even work. And, it doesn’t look like RhythmSYNC has even been updated in the past year. Is this company even still in business?

Developer Needs to FIX

App indicates software is out of date but it will not update.
“My Details” will not display. Thus I am unable to input any personal information.
App Store shows several screen views, but downloaded App has only two.
RhythmSYNC is the worst one I have seen in 20-some years.

Disappointed. Returning the HRM.

I got the Rhythm+ for Christmas. After charging it up, RhythmSYNC tells me I have to update the monitors software. When I try to update the software through RhythmSYNC , it fails. Then tells me to run the heart rate monitors battery down to zero, charge for 2 mins, and try again... 8-10 hours later... I follow the instructions and it fails to upload again. I did this several times, and it failed each time.

I asked for this to use with my Peloton. It won’t connect. Maybe it would connect to the bike after the software update...? Who knows.

RhythmSYNC itself is as basic as it gets. Basically one screen that shows your current heart rate.

The monitor is great. App…. Less than great

Constantly have problems syncing RhythmSYNC to the monitor with Bluetooth, even when my phone says they’re connected.

Monitor works great with the Peloton but can’t work with the company’s own app? Frustrating.

Very Limited Capabilities for Rhythm+ 2.0

Downloaded this at the direction of Scosche customer service to check the monitor battery level. It DOES show that. That and software updates are the only functionality RhythmSYNC has for the + 2.0. It may have additional functions with the Rhythm 24, which I do not own.

Needs some tweaks

Download from watch to phone is only one file at a time. Please include ‘download all’ feature.
Export is only one file at a time. Please provide ‘export all’ feature.
Please include ‘delete all’ feature.

The Rhythm24 device works great, app meh but it’s not really needed

Title says it all, I have been very happy with the device over the last couple of years. As other reviewers mentioned, I only run RhythmSYNC to check on new firmware and update. That’s it. It’s picky, and you need to make sure nothing else is using it at the time you run RhythmSYNC so it will connect. But once you do it works fine.

I’ve run into a couple bugs setting my preferences but worked around them.

Bottom line is I absolutely would recommend the HR monitors from Scosche and unless you have some situation that requires RhythmSYNC then go right ahead it’s solid. Support was good as well, they replaced my original device way out of warranty and I use it a lot.

BOTH the device and app work as expected

I bought my Rhythm+ June of 2017.

Ok, there are a ton of negative reviews on here, which I believe are a tad unfair. I sync the strap with my watch (presently a TomTom Runner), and it just plain works. Occasionally the HR will measure low, but during the course of my runs, it is rock solid. As for RhythmSYNC , I only use it to make sure that my firmware is current (which has only needed an update 1 time - I’ll get to that in a minute), and to check the battery level to see if it needs charging. I basically charge the unit once per week.

I am actually now on my second Scosche HRM.

The first one (purchased in 2017) needed a firmware update, but (on the ORIGINAL app, not this one) following all of the guidance from RhythmSYNC and from tech support, it simply would not update. The tech support team advised me that it wasn’t really a necessary update, but if desired, they would replace my unit with a new one that had been updated. I opted to swap it out and have had no issues since. (This was in July/August 2019).

Do I wish we could do more in RhythmSYNC ? Sure, but my main focus as a distance runner is knowing what my HR is doing during my training and long distance runs. Anything more than that is just a bonus.

Simple accurate heart beat app

I don‘t understand the bad reviews. Love RhythmSYNC. Simple, to the point. Didn‘t need to sign in, just download RhythmSYNC , turn on bluetooth, click the connect, and off I went.

I just compared my old Scosche Rhythm to the heart rate monitor on an Apple watch 6. A perfect match. Same readings. Could not be happier.

Working for me!

Despite the overall negative reviews of RhythmSYNC I really wanted to adjust my zones. I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, I was easily able to connect to my Rhythm24 and update it’s firmware. I was not able to find any bugs and everything worked like I expected it too. I hope you have the same experience.

Love it.

RhythmSYNC connects to my Rhythm+ band and shows my heart-rate. It can simultaneously track my HR in the Apple health app AND the Sosche rhythm app. It works for what I need and I like it.

I am very happy that despite RhythmSYNC being out a long time, it hasn’t become obsolete (even after many IOS updates). It still works and is still downloadable from RhythmSYNC store which can’t be said for a lot of other apps!

Thanks for making a simple-to-use product and software with lasting compatibility and longevity!

Very basic but functional.

The rhythm 24 heart rate monitor seems to be a very accurate and decent product with good functionality. RhythmSYNC however, is extremely basic. I don’t think RhythmSYNC was actually intended to be used for more than its basic features. Which are to show you your heart rate, heart rate zones, battery level, software updates, basic settings. You definitely need a different app to enjoy all the functionality and features of your heart rate monitor. If you set your expectations for these basic features, RhythmSYNC is functional. If you expect anything more like what an exercise program is going to give you that is not what RhythmSYNC does.
