The single feature this is good with this app is the list sorted by aisle which is handy when in store shopping. Unfortunately the default is selected item go to cart which then have to be moved to the list. Once in the list items can not be added or the in store codes when scanned need to have the user login even when already in the app. Also when selecting coupons they require adding the selecting item to the cart as they will not move to the list. This lack of shopper focus in the app frustrates me to the point of considering shopping elsewhere. One last item is poor stocking of diet coke when on sale. Multiple times I have tried to purchase this on sale and it was out of stock. This app used to work better without the multitude of recent changes. Considering reducing stress by not using the app or store.

I’m pretty tech-savvy, but navigating the Metro Market app just to use a simple coupon is a full-time job. The interface is clunky, unintuitive, and borderline insulting when it comes to actually “getting the best deals.” What should be a streamlined, value-driven experience feels more like a puzzle you’re not supposed to solve.
And the gas rewards? Don’t even get me started. Sure, you can redeem points for discounts at BP, but BP seems to have caught on. Their prices are often inflated compared to nearby stations—so your $0.10 “discount” disappears the moment you pull up. It’s basically a bait-and-switch wrapped in a loyalty program.
The final straw for me? The Friday points promo. It used to be 4x points—still annoying, but tolerable if you timed your shopping right. Now it’s just double points, which hardly moves the needle and definitely doesn’t justify the hassle. Whatever perceived value there was has slowly eroded to nothing.
Honestly, at this point, I might as well just do all my shopping at Costco. At least there, the deals are real, the value is obvious, and I don’t need an app to decode the fine print on a gallon of milk.

Truly one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Kroger can and should do better, but it seems like they simply don’t care because this has been going on for over a year since I moved and was forced to switch to Metro Market. Doesn’t matter what device I use, the app takes FOREVER to respond to every single touch. There is so much lag that the app lags every time you type a single letter when searching something up or even if my screen changes rotation to landscape momentarily. It makes it impossible to use.
Safeway has a significantly better app, I’m just forced to shop at this store because it’s the only place near me that’s affordable. Genuinely this app makes me hate ordering groceries and it makes me angry every single time I have to use it.
