Too Much Work

I downloaded BevMo during the quarantine since curbside was the only option. I would like to continue to use it for connivence, but it is not very intuitive. My biggest complaint is reordering items should be much simpler than it is. When you select the “reorder” tab, the first thing that comes up are items I’ve never ordered. The second tab is past orders, but instead of pictures of items I’ve ordered, I see an order number and status. Once you hunt through that and find the items ordered, the only option is to add the entire order to the cart. So I did that figuring I’d edit the items in the cart, but that wasn’t an option either. If you want me to buy from you, instead of the grocery store, or Target, you’ve got to make it easy.

Overall layout good but payment process terrible

So the overall navigation of BevMo is pretty good, it’s pretty easy to navigate and it’s pretty responsive and it’s pretty well-laid out but the process of paying is absolutely terrible they use an outside source that requires you to put all of your credit card information every time and there is no possible way to use PayPal, it doesn’t even respond to automatic input of credit card information which is already saved in my phone. To be honest, there have been many many times where I just didn’t order from this app because I just didn’t have the time to put in the credit card information or I didn’t have my credit card with me so I just close out of BevMo and got my liquor from somewhere else.

Can’t create account

I’d love to give BevMo a meaningful review, but I can’t creat an online account despite already having a this app membership. I get “A communication error occurred. Please validate fields and try again.” All fields check out, nothing empty. This feels like a bug, but if it isn’t then y’all need better UX for sorting out whatever is wrong. Happens on website too, so not in the clear there. SERIOUSLY HAMPERING MY PLANS!!!

Update: finally able to sign up for an account, only to end up navigating circles around checkout. On the website, navigating to checkout removes everything from cart. BevMo doesn’t purge my cart, but when I enter my shipping address it decides then (contrary to what it says in numerous places throughout the site/app) that it doesn’t ship to DC. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH YOUR DIGITAL TEAM?!?!

Don’t bother

The only app that requires me to sign in every freaking time I open it. So I don’t. I’m writing this before I delete it.
I like to browse, rather than go in for something specific. That requires effective and intuitive filter and sort tools. These tools are available, but there are too many levels. And for some reason, some things which are available will not show up in a filtered search. It’s faster for me to get out my laptop and browse the website.
If you know exactly what you want, and/or you want to see what’s on sale, this might be more useful. But if you like to browse, BevMo is one that may have more hoops than you’re willing to jump through.

Poor quality app functioning

I tried to order something off BevMo and it kept popping up with an error so I gave up and chose another app to order from, but then all of the sudden I was charged and sent the order that I thought was never processed after already ordering from somewhere else. It’s not cool for an app to tell me something didn’t go through and then all the sudden process it without my direct knowledge. BevMo kept popping up with all kinds of errors and was slow and I’m upset that it would tell me that my order didn’t go through and then decide to process it an hour later.

Wishing for better selection

The sales and discounts this app! gives are fabulous
Their prices are high though generally. Like $6 , $10 , sometimes $22 dollars more than other stores. Also their selection is not much. And I wish that their app would show you other stores if the one you shop at doesn’t have what you’re looking for. For instance I was looking for the new Booker’s Batch and my store didn’t have it but BevMo couldn’t show me other nearby stores that do. My store was getting the Booker’s Batch but now they don’t get the newest Batch. What gives?

Search is picky and inventory not reliable

I often get orders with fewer items since they were out of stock even though there was stock online, which is a bummer when the fixed cost of the delivery fee and tip to the driver is there.

Search doesn’t always find things and sometime BevMo gets confused about if you are logged in or not. Also can’t change stores for delivery even though another store with more inventory is almost the same distance away.

Horrible app that causes too much frustration!

BevMo is the worst. It logs you out constantly when you are trying to make a purchase, forgets which this app you are shopping at, then gives you incorrect inventory on top of all that! I placed an order yesterday for pickup, the order finally goes through and then I get a call this morning stating that they no longer have the product. BevMo still shows they have 9 four packs of the beer, and I’m now told they actually don’t have any. What good is an app that gives you bad info when we are TRYING to spend money at your business?!?!?

Payment problems / search across store

It took multiple attempts to make my order go through, as the payment gateway kept timing out. Finally it did go through but the payment page was in the tiniest font possible. I also wish it was possible in BevMo to search for hard to find products across their multiple stores instead of a trial by error method of going store to store to look for certain products.

The app is fine - the payeeze part isn’t

The only online purchasing choice is the ironically named payeeze.

After selecting it I was happy to see an Apple Pay option. But when I tried to use Apple Pay it defaulted to a card I didn’t want to use instead of my default Apple Pay card and would not let me choose a different card. The only option was to add a card.

Figuring it was a quirk of the interface I re-added what should have been my default Apple Pay card. BevMo told me that card is already in my wallet. “Duh! So why can’t I select it?”

So I cancelled attempting to use Apple Pay. When I selected debit or credit card from the payeeze page, nothing happened. I had to quit the entire transaction and start again including resetting the driver’s tip.

I ended up manually adding the debit card in the payeeze interface.

Wow.

It takes a bit of work to not think this edge-case through, as it’s an obvious one.

If you go through an order at 12:59, select a pickup time for 2:00-3:00, complete the slow Payzee process—easily one of the worst payment gateways I’ve seen in a while—and are approved, you’ll head back to BevMo ... which will tell you you’ve selected an invalid pickup time.

“Oh, we’ve gone over the hour and they need more than an hour to process. No worries. I’ll pick 2:15.”

Do so ... and then BevMo tells you the order has been charged already.

I wonder if Total Wine has these issues? I dunno, but I’m already out $140 at this app today and am being told to just charge again and It Will Work This Time, Really (TM), so I may as well go down the road and try my luck there. They’ll maybe even use the payment gateway that this app used to use, where I could tell it, “just use my iPhone Wallet,” and it said, “no worries.”

Ripped Me Off; No Way to Report

I ordered from here, the driver brought the wrong stuff, then just laughed about it and did not mention coming back. I called the store and they said “I know what he did, sorry” then just stopped talking. After a couple hours I called again and they said it was still sitting there. I asked if I could pick it up and they said “yea but you’ll still be charged a delivery fee”. In fact, I ALSO paid a tip. BevMo has no contact or complaint option listed. Someone should contact me about a refund. I won’t hold my breath.

Doesn’t seem to correctly link to account data.

Having used the barcode of my account via the physical card BevMo , showing the same account number doesn’t seem connected to what I’m getting as email offers. Here’s a serous backend disconnect with BevMo.

That one cannot even bring up ones this app card with BevMo I store because the stores are faraday cages doesn’t help ( the card barcode in BevMo should get loaded in when in the network and then cached and NOT require it be fetched on demand at the register when BevMo is opened. )

The design used is a fail for now (nov 2019)

Love BevMo, Not The App

BevMo is extremely glitchy. The filter feature does not work. Whatever you select does not change the search results. The fact that it does not use Apple Pay, PayPal and other easy ways to pay that are standard anywhere else is frustrating. When you pay by credit card, the page you are directed to is not mobile responsive. You are better off doing this on your tablet or computer...

Poor checkout, imprecise inventory, otherwise ok

Checkout is from 1995 and horrible on mobile device
Apple Pay doesn’t work
(both of the above likely because they’re using a WebViewer instead of actual integrated payments).
Inventory in my store has rarely precise (esp. with glassware, tools, and wine), and I’m left checking the store anyway ... so why use BevMo ??
Some mobile orders have gone well, so that’s nice and hence the 3 stars.

The app isn’t functional

BevMo doesn’t work half of the time! I love this app but the functionality of BevMo is very much lacking. You can’t click on things and the payment section is so so bad. I almost gave up on placing a pickup order because I had to put in my payment info 3-4 times(I lost count). When putting in payment information, BevMo will zoom in but then you aren’t able to zoom back out to move onto another section to input other information. It needs an upgrade

Check out experience

I love your guys app. It’s easy to find drinks and select a pickup time for to go orders. BUT... for the love of alcohol, please improve your checkout experience. The fact that I have to enter my name, address, credit card, etc. each time is a pain in the you know what. Will change to 5 stars when that happens :) Love y’all!

Always find something new to try along with old favorites. Staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. For example, today, Brent helped us at the check out. And another wonderful gentleman retrieved a case of wine for me. Excellent service!!

Limited selection, don't want to take your money

The stores stock more than BevMo allows you to buy. I had to checkout 5 times before the order was complete. The payment window uses a font so small it can't be read. Resizing the text causes that part of the window to become large but the window is not scrollable back to the other fields. Transactions fail and then you need to retry them. Slow.

Apple Pay doesn’t work!!! Need to work on making checking out easier!

It will ask me to add a card, then when I enter my credit card info, it says the card is already in my Apple wallet! And it won’t pull the card from my wallet to use for Apple Pay!

Can anyone help with this??? It’s very frustrating as I order a lot using BevMo , and since there’s no one-click ordering or none of my info defaults in the checkout area, I have to manually type in all my info EVERY TIME!

Anniversary Stella Rosa order

Well it’s our anniversary and I can’t be driving and walking around much do to a 10 mm herniated discs in my back. Ordering my husbands favorite moscato online at this app, made it SO easy! Just pick it, pay for it and pick them up! That simple! 😍. And, I had a $10 off coupon in my offer section! Happy anniversary to us! Thanks this app!!

Clunky, several bugs

Overall BevMo works but is clunky and it needs improvement. Today I had to delete it and reinstall because items were stuck in my shopping cart. Couldn’t remove them because item not available. No kidding, I knew inventory had changed and the wine was not available but I still couldn’t remove the bottles from cart

Don’t get it?

I have shopped at this app for years and been a ClubBev member, so I thought having BevMo would make sense. Unless you plan to order online, BevMo serves no point. You can’t check your points only see past purchases. Also their option to give feedback doesn’t allow that but instead opens a survey that created. So basically they’re asking me questions instead of answering some of mine

5 stars. User should be able to save items in cart for later purchase though, it takes time to find them and if you don’t want to buy them right away there’s no place to store them.

Really enjoy using the phone app! I am able to search my favorite wines, apply coupon codes, and pick up my wine in a few hours. It doesn’t get any better than that!!!

This App is bad enough to make me shop elsewhere

BevMo is unstable. It’s difficult to get around Pandora it erases the contents of the cart regularly. Adding an item to the cart is clunky. It is impossible to check out. The ad for BevMo says you can enter your purchases and pick it up in one hour. You can’t even get your purchases into the Ap in one hour. It’s time to start shopping at my local supermarket.

Good experience

BevMo is well-designed overall.

Wine ratings and feedback from customers about each wine would help a lot. Filtering by rating within each varietal also is a good idea.

Also, I wanted to order wine for my mom in Arizona and have it shipped from the store near her house, which I could not do from BevMo experience.

Could you help me get that done? Right now, there are 18 bottles for store pickup. I don’t want her to have to go to the store to pick up her gift.

Clunky slow and hard to use

Nothing about this experience was good. It wouldn’t find the store I needed so I had to restart. Then I had to go to my computer to see if I could do it there. Finally got it to work about 25 mins later. I’m also 35 so I generally know how to use my phone and the internet.

Easy App to order

I needed to order last minute bottles and I
let my fingers to the walking. I ordered what I needed and will pick up tomorrow.

Never loaded up near by stores.

I downloaded BevMo about a week ago and it never loaded up any stores, just a blue blank page. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same problem, never really even got to see products or anything in BevMo , only asked if i was 21 and over and i clicked yes and nothing happened after that. Horrible!!

Best BevMo

This store has incredibly knowledgeable employees about all of the wines that they have stock. It’s convenient, always clean, and the employees even remember we when you walk thru the door.

Lost some functionality

Until recently, one of the most useful features of BevMo was being able to see if a given item was in stock at your nearest store. Although you can still do in-store pickup, it’s no longer possible to check stock in real time. It was a really useful feature, and I was annoyed to see it go.

By far the best liquor store in Cali. Love this place. Plus if you sign up on line you get great coupon deals. Their customer service is the best. Highly recommend.
