The Best Travel & Culture Site

While this site has articles highlighting “best of” events, sights, etc., which are great, they provide much more detail than other sites about the art, food, culture, history, geography, and people in the area. The writers have usually spent considerable time in the areas about which they write so you can rely on their information. And the pieces are well written. We are traveling in southern France and their articles covered east to west, beaches to mountains and also covered weather & events at differing times of year. I plan on consulting Culture Trip from now on before we travel.

How to tour without being touristy!

I love CultureTrip! The articles on what to do and what not to do in each location in order to not be your typical obnoxious tourist are may favorite. Not only do I not want to be “that tourist” but I also want to immerse myself into the local culture as much as possible. Culture Trip helps me find food, activities and experiences that are off the beaten path and teaches me how to be respectful and honoring to the people and places I am visiting. 10 out of 10 would recommend to my friends and family.

App was great

CultureTrip was great for planning a trip that your unfamiliar with or trying something wild. I loved CultureTrip a lot but there is something I hope they can change. I would definitely give it 5 stars if you could tell that you’ve already read that article. It would be extremely helpful because there are limited arrivals for a specific place. I keep accidentally opening up the same articles and it does get annoying at one point. Of course not a big problem just hope they could think about it. No matter what i still love CultureTrip and will always use it for my future trips.

2 major problems

I live in a touristy area and wanted to get a feel for how accurate the info on CultureTrip is. The article about the top 10 restaurants was outdated. One of them hasn’t existed for 2 years. Also, the descriptions were misleading. For example, the diviest dive bar at the waterfront has fried food and pizza and attracts an older locals crowd. We are talking age range mostly 50+ and they are mostly townie bar flies. The article described it as the funkiest place in town and talked about the food like it was part of the draw, which it isn’t. it’s a townie drinking spot with bad live music when they have it.
Also, i clicked on another article that said my town and state. it was all about another town with the same name but in a different state.
Clearly CultureTrip is not well maintained or monitored. i wouldn’t trust it.

Why CULTURE TOUR is a must for travelers

We travel to EUROPE each year for 2or 3 weeks and had to find our own hidden GEMS. CultureTrip gets you driving in the right directions to find your own HIDDEN GEMS.

The big cities are always a TOP destination, however, finding those little obscure villages along the trip are what create lasting memories for the traveler. Heading in any direction with or without a hotel reservation makes the traveler explore towns that were not even in the travel plans.

Being a PISCES always leads me to wonderful towns along RIVERS, LAKES, & SEASIDES.

Don’t be afraid to rent a car or take a train in any direction to find your new FAVORITE place in this world. Look at your maps and find towns along the railways in major towns and avoid the problems of trying to drive into the many ancient towns that you MUST SEE. A $2.00 train fare will save you all of the fears of traversing towns with streets originally DONKEY PATHS.

Best Travel App EVER

I have been traveling around Europe and I have never ran into a more perfect app. This provides the best of the best places to find while traveling across the globe. I couldn’t rave about CultureTrip more. It has saved me and I have found the best restaurant, bars, local favorites and essential attractions / tips when going to a new place. I highly recommend downloading CultureTrip before traveling to a new city, town, country...etc. This will make your travel experience ten times better. Promise.

Perfect App

I am an American who spent the last two years working in Ireland. Culture Trip was our constant companion, both in Ireland and on travels through the rest of Europe. The articles are fun, up-to-date, and full of good ideas of interesting and meaningful things to do and see and know. They are truly a locals’ eye view. CultureTrip itself is easy, intuitive, and bug-free. I would have missed a lot of cool things had it not been for Culture Trip.

The Most useful travel app

CultureTrip is so amazing if you want to experience traveling and living like a local ( which is how it should be). I have been living and working in Europe for the past couple of months and CultureTrip is my number 1 go to for finding new thing to do/ places to stay in the cities I travel. Please don't stop updating CultureTrip with cities and recommendations, my travel experiences wouldn't be as good without CultureTrip and it's wonderful features.

Like a local

I am one of those folks who always wants to find the hidden gem. Why stand in line with 300 other people for 4.5 hours waiting to get into the Louvre? So you delve into the local culture behind the scenes. You get more interaction, better flavor. Have found some amazing finds on CultureTrip. In Paris, the monetary museum is an absolute must see, the art scene at 59 Rivoli and the best pizza place in Naples, Italy. All on CultureTrip and I was never once disappointed by the direction it steered me in for an experiment.

To Mark Hobart

Respectfully, there is no such thing as reverse racism. Please understand that African-Americans have been oppressed for centuries. If you have no empathy in your soul to understand that I give you my love in prayer. Hopefully, someday you will.

CultureTrip is really fantastic! Thank you to all travel experts for your selfless contributions. A special thank you to the developers for your generosity in creating a phenomenal free gift to bless us with on this earth.

Love the app

Love CultureTrip but my one suggestion is that the first bar under the header always gives me content about local ideas. I find that curious since the search bar says explore your world. It would be great if one could either turn off the local suggestion bar or select what regions of the world to see context from for CultureTrip as a whole.

Great app and keep the good stuff coming.

Love this app!

CultureTrip saved my trip to Ireland! I normally rely on various travel guide books for trip planning, but after discovering CultureTrip after feeling a huge let down in Dublin, I found that I relied on it more and more throughout my travels! I love that CultureTrip suggests more hidden gems rather than the tourists traps. Some of the highlights of my trip were discovered through Culture Trip! Thanks so much! :)

More city

Add more cities!! Place some small time cities…your small market cities are also a lot of fun. Broaden the market. Overall a great app. A lot of these places I have lived due to military life so I always look for something a little bit off the pathway. For example Huntsville, AL. It’s a small town with big city feel. Hits all the senses. From the geek side to the outdoorsy. From food/beer to great BBQ. It has something for everyone!

Not trustworthy

I have been looking for something like this that was reliable and useful. I looked at the entries for my hometown, a major metropolitan area with lots to do. The various articles were unreliable and idiosyncratic. Probably the best was a list of top museums. The list of best parks included our wonderful largest park, but also included small, ordinary neighborhood parks. A list of best restaurants only listed ordinary restaurants in a suburb far west of the city, including a fast food place. Compared to the rich online resources available, this is not worth consulting. I would not recommend this even as a secondary source of suggestions.

The good & bad of info

Culture trip has been great for checking out places I’ve never been. It gives a good view of cities and locations and at the same time feeds into there being no secrets or undiscovered places (not their fault completely). Sometimes, i wish they’d cinch up their posts (many overlap or seem to be related, but they’re divided up to seem like that have more reviews than they do).
All in all: a great place to start for exploration!

So ANNOYING

I’m not sure what changed but the mobile version has become very irritating to use now. I can’t get through an article without accidentally opening 12 different links just by scrolling. On the computer it wouldn’t be a big deal, but every paragraph has 2-3 links and every photo is linked as well making it impossible to get through an article without being sent to another page. Go back to how it was before!!

Actually helpful!

I just moved to DC, and CultureTrip has been hugely helpful in paring down the options to form a manageable plan for exploring the city! If CultureTrip doesn’t seem helpful for a given city, don’t be discouraged. It’s probably because the city isn’t that exciting (e.g., Atlanta, GA). At least you’re getting the most exciting stuff available without spending hours on Trip Advisor piecing a plan together.

Ready to travel *****

CultureTrip really has me wanting to go to places I’ve never heard of. I now use it as a way to research places. Also, because it is an app I get a little less distracted from other things on the internet because you don’t see as many ads. I hope CultureTrip continues to expand and that one day I get to contribute. 5 stars.

Very Impressive Travel App!

We are avid frequent travelers and luckily found CultureTrip before our travels to Fiji, New Caledonia & Australia. We love CultureTrip because it’s easy to use, filled beautiful photography, history of the places we visit, top ratings for things to do & places to eat, the locals preferences and a ton more information on the culture, must know tips, language helps, etc...its totally fascinating how much info they can pack into wherever we visited....even the little remote villages in the middle of no where. CultureTrip is our new favorite travel companion. Great job to its creators!!!
